Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

But then, out of the ashes of the old corrupt world, so to speak, God will make a new and incorruptible world.
Evidently Dr. Morris didn’t think this through, for it contradicts all that he believes and unintentionally supports the very evolution he decries.
The new heavens and the new earth God makes will be an entirely new creation, not one arising “out of the ashes of the old corrupt world.”
Nothing will arise from the ashes, even “so to speak.”
Howdy G… hope you tending well and behaving. How is that cardiology appointment coming along?
Mornin’ dear ‘Woo. Cardio appt on 5-9 with new guy. Just discovered that a recently prescribed med—losartan —has side effects. Dizziness. Fainting.
Thank God for such revelation! What an important clue to guide future treatment. Hope you can cease such medication without too bad of repercussions in the meantime until the new cardiologist comes on the scene, or that “someone” can prescribe you something else in the interim.
Look into Quercetin
That’s a great supplement for many things.
I use a product, Cool Cayenne, for irregular heartbeat – works in about half an hour!
Quercetin is Sold at GNC and Whole Foods. I am a pure blood and took vitamins C, D3, zinc and quercetin daily during Covid. I have taken this regimen during the winter flu season as well. I believe this kept me safe from illness. I also take 2 low dose heart meds.

full pink moon … tuesday night
Think that shrimp trawler is catching pink shrimp under a pink moon?
yum ! i hope so monti ♥️
Sublime
She loved her brother, I remember back when
He was fixin’ up a ’49 Indian
He told her, little sister, going to ride the wind
Up around the moon and back again
Thank you Monticello. Love the the poetry and the deep spirit of Emmy Lou
That the first time I really listened to the words to that song.
Deep. Spiritual. Real. Painful.
[Verse 1]
Me and my best friend Lillian
And her blue tick hound dog Gideon
Sittin’ on the front porch coolin’ in the shade
Singin’ every song the radio played
Waiting for the Alabama sun to go down
Two red dirt girls in a red dirt town
Me and Lillian
Just across the line
And a little southeast of Meridian
[Verse 2]
She loved her brother, I remember back when
He was fixin’ up a ’49 Indian
He told her, little sister, going to ride the wind
Up around the moon and back again
He never got farther than Vietnam
I was standing there with her
When the telegram come for Lillian
Now he’s lying somewhere
About a million miles from Meridian
[Chorus]
She said, “There’s not much hope for a red dirt girl
Somewhere out there is a great big world
That’s where I’m bound
And the stars might fall on Alabama
But one of these days I’m going to swing my hammer down
Away from this red dirt town
I’m going to make a joyful sound”
[Verse 3]
She grew up tall and she grew up thin
Buried that old dog Gideon
By a crepe myrtle bush at the back of the yard
Her daddy turned mean and her mama leaned hard
Got in trouble with a boy from town
Figured that she might as well settle down
So she dug right in across a red dirt line
Just a little south east of Meridian
[Chorus]
Yes, she tried hard to love him
But it never did take
Just another way for the heart to break
So she learned to bend
One thing they don’t tell you about the blues
When you got ’em you keep on falling cause there ain’t no bottom
And there ain’t no end, least not for Lillian
[Verse 4]
Nobody knows when she started her skid
She was only 27 and she had five kids
Could’ve been the whiskey, could’ve been the pills
Could’ve been the dream she was trying to kill
But there won’t be a mention in the news of the world
About the life and the death of a red dirt girl
Named Lillian
Who never got any farther
Across the line than Meridian
[Outro]
Now the stars still fall on Alabama
Tonight she finally laid
That hammer down without a sound
In the red dirt ground
Good morn Country Doc
Hope you have a great day
HIYA CountryDoc!
So nice to “see” you!
Have you ever had the Argentinian red shrimp? We find them at the store sometimes and they are sublime. A little pricey, but worth it if you find them. Meaty and buttery like Itty bitty lobster tails and they cook up beautiful and red veined making a pretty meal presentation.
Good morning JWoo and yes the Argentinian shrimp (in a couple different varieties I think) are very good to my taste.
I am very conscious as to origins on seafood and most shrimp wasn’t raised right /s.
Getting hungry talking about shrimp at 0500 hours lol.
Yes, me too… scrappy cardboard frozen pizza is not a wholesome dinner in my opinion… but I do the best I can with only two hands and two feet. Ha ha! #puppyparadise
Sherry was down with a migraine yesterday. My dinner was a chicken pot pie. I keep the large size Marie Callender’s Chicken or Turkey pot pies in the freezer. Reasonably wholesome, no preservatives, no food dye, though high on sodium.
Good morning, Rob.
Sorry to hear Sherry was feeling lousy. A friend of ours used massage therapy to help his wife with her migraines. She used to have them most days and received really expensive injections for them… but massage helped her enormously.
Marie Callender pot pies are good from what I remember. I do have to watch the sodium carefully, though, so maybe homemade would be better.. which sounds pretty appealing. The Aldis pizza wasn’t too bad but I can’t even eat our favorite take out variety anymore. I used to freeze it, but the sodium made me sick.
Funny how our bodies work. With my heart thing now… I’ve cut back almost entirely of coffee and anything heavy salt. Just trying to eat a can of tomato soup makes me squeamish.
Inflammation is down a lot which means joint pain is down considerably too.. save the hip acting stupid from the car accident. I’m too young for this Tin Man existence, but take enough omega 3s and 6s, 4 grams plus frequent fish, to keep nicely lubed up and the brain well oiled. It helps.
Systolic and diastolic is down 40 points each
I cook and bake a lot and mix a great Greek spice blend that has little to no salt but tons of flavor. I use a lot of spicy peppers and vinegars too… which are good to imitate salt.
We have a chock full supply (hat tip to Sundance for encouraging prepping).
You’ve encouraged me though to make a chicken pot pie for dinner. Kiddo works tonight which means dinner is at 8:15 pm… way late for us, as we usually eat around 5 pm… except her work nights.
I’ll bet that pizza had more salt than the pot pie. Almost everything in or on a pizza is salted. Dough, sauce, cheese, and almost every topping from sausage to black olives has sodium. It all adds up big time!
Mental image of tipped back sipping a greyhound on the Carolina beach and picking at shrimp. (see what you started JWoo!)
Bubba Gump Shrimp Company
Yum to both
I know… pizza in general is bad, bad, bad and I can’t seem to eat anymore the Greek’s Pizza that we love (Meatball and marinara)… but in a pinch with a hungry teenager, a cheapie frozen one can be helpful. I partake sparingly and it was more out of convenience rather than rustling up dinner. We try to have a 90/10 rule here. If 90% of what you eat is healthy, the 10% not-so-healthy is okay, but I am watching the sodium carefully.
Went against the pot pie and will oven bake some pork chops later with steamed broccoli and sweet potato.
The puppy is trotting back and forth and I’m breathing a minute while my reports run.
I eat what I want and so far have had no problems except for an occasional bout of heartburn. I just don’t eat as much as I used to.
So on this rainy day it is Lee’s Famous Recipe chicken. They have the best gizzards in town and a quart of gizzards, mashed potatoes and gravy and some green beans will be my one big meal today. I will buy a large family meal for Sherry because I love cold chicken as well I do hot and it won’t go to waste.
So now I’ve got work to do. Going to Menards and buy more slime because I’m going to do the back tires on the zero turn. It is already in the garage.
Who doesn’t LOVE cold fried chicken? It is one of the best things on the planet. Protein = good.
Hi Woo,
Watching sodium is great, but type of sodium is really important too. We only use sea salt (I like pink Himalayan). It has 73 minerals in addition to the sodium that help mitigate the downsides of sodium.
I carry it with us for use at restaurants.
I have to do gluten free (yuk), but a company called Schaar makes a pre-made crust that isn’t bad and you can have a pizza in 20 minutes with the toppings you want. 😉
I only use Kosher Sea Salt, too. Switched from the common table due to the totally different way it lands on the tongue. Nice to know you’re a gourmet as well! Coming over! LOL (actually I’m just trying to stall in making dinner – I’m whooped.)
I hear ya, sis. Some days it’s tough after a long day at work to come home and start in on all the other stuff.
If you were anywhere nearby – we would welcome you and Savannah with open arms for dinner anytime. I am a pescaterian so no meat, but, I’m told I’m an OK cook!
Hi, long time Treehouse reader here who seldom comments. I just had to mention that I love Redmonds Real Salt, a sea salt mined from an ancient sea bed in Utah. It has many, many trace minerals in it. You can buy it from Redmonds and also Amazon, and I’ve seen a small shaker of it in our small Walmart.
Debilitating pain in the head : moan.
So sorry…
Yes! She gets them so badly that it actually makes her sick to her stomach. The come when there is a big change in the atmospheric pressure.
I only buy wild caught seafood of any type. I try to buy USA, but there are a few other countries of origin that are acceptable, and Argentina is one, thankfully!
Oh Woo. Yes, they are the best! You can make a “fake” lobster roll out of them (tons of butter involved!) that is scrumptious. I find them at Sam’s Club.
Hmmm… what time’s dinner? We will all come over! Haven’t had a lobster roll in forever since our little Caplinger’s closed. They used to sell these ridiculously good Calamari Fries which were, in and of themselves, a meal. Those and a side of greens and cajun slaw. Yikes.
Beats the modest pork choppers that are tonight with rice and broccoli.
I did not know that the guy who sang “Polk Salad Annie” (Tony Joe White) wrote “Rainy Night in Georgia”.
You can find his version on YT, easily. It’s good, but Brook Benton’s is still my favorite.
hi 👋🏻 sunnydaze .. tony joe passed away in 2018 💔
what an incredible person he was .. so talented in my opinion..
here is an excerpt from an interview he did .. the interviewer gave him a name .. and tony joe would give his thoughts..
Mark Knopfler:
He may be my favorite guitar player or at least in the top three. We have known each other for a long time- over there in London in the studio hanging out. It started years ago and he gave me a guitar, a beautiful acoustic guitar. He was doing a show with Chet Atkins and he came out to the house and of course we had to build a fire and get outside and crank a couple of acoustics up and have a few cold ones. Knopfler was out under the moon with a fire going and did the song “Brothers In Arms,” which is one of my favorites – it doesn’t get much better than that. Then we went downstairs into my studio and I had this old blonde 330 Gibson that I had used back in the Texas days. He started playing it and would not put it down and he just couldn’t quit playing it. So he got ready to leave the next day and I told him to take that Gibson and put it in the car with him. He said “No,” he didn’t think he could take it. I told him to go ahead and take it and it would be in good hands.
I went out by the campfire the next afternoon and just kind of sitting there by myself and there were guitar licks laying everywhere. (Laughs) Knopfler knows so many licks that they just fall out of his pockets. (Laughs)
knopfler was out under the moon with a fire going and did the song “ Brothers in Arms “..
i had to come back and bold this .. because i can’t even imagine that scene.
Hi Annie 🙋♀️
I saw Mark Knopfler open for Bob in 2012 . It sure doesn’t get much better than that ! No Brothers in Arms that night , though .
Nice story about Tony Joe and Mark just hanging out like guys do 😊
Hope You are Well and Happy , Annie 😊
well that’s awesome, ryder..! and thank you for the good thoughts ♥️
i hope the same for you.
did you get to see tom ?
Knopfler just released his latest album last week. Got mine yesterday. Still producing beautiful, meaningful, music for us old pats.
thank you firefeet ♥️
i ‘ve had a chance to listen to a few off of the album today.. my favorite so far is tunnel 13 ..
do you have a favorite?
thanks again for sharing that today
Beautiful. Great American music.
indeed it is sunny 🤗
Hello Friends,
So I was working on this translation for three days and now it got flagged for copy rights.
I think it’s an important video so I will take may chance and remove it only in a couple of days if possible to hold on to it.
It’s about the real story of the Israeli ballistic Defense system. We just had over 110 ballistic missiles launched on us and we survived with no casualties.
The real story here is that if you ever face a multiple nuclear attack, then we have the answer. We intercept them outside the atmosphere. Did you know that it all began with President Reagan?
Yes, President Reagan is related to the Israeli Missile Defense for outer space. Don’t miss this.
You are an incredible war time correspondent.
Ever think of being a professional journalist, David? A real one… like we seemed to have had… in the days of old…. prior to the “lie for any price” brand of pseudo journalists today?
You would be exceptional at it. Captivating.
Blessings on you and yours and your country.
Thank you! You made my day!
I thought about it but not seriously.
❤️
Maybe… seriously… this video is wonderful. Thank you for finding it and sharing it with us.
We miss Reagan
💙 🇮🇱
❤️
Yes, David. JWoo is right! When I was a teenager during the Viet Nam war, correspondents were embedded with the military and we saw the war unfold on our TVs every night.
Of course, we could be doing that as we write in Ukraine, but our government wants us in the dark – the better to gather more tax dollars.
ah but who would publish the truth?
patrick healy: Exactly.
David has some wild stories about lies spread by sources not at all reliable like David is.
Just over the weekend when the Iranian barrage took place, David shared about what the Egyptians were saying during the 1967 Six Day War.
He also shared about the Open Topic thread that night being flooded with lies and more lies about the Iranian barrage and the condition of things in Israel.
David was really GREAT that night at debunking what was being posted (even with some humor).
I appreciate so much David’s commitment to the truth.
For now, patrick healy, we can listen to it at this fireside. For that, I am grateful. We can’t necessarily look too far ahead – we are all traveling and existing day by day.
To God Be The Glory.
My apology for the spelling error at the beginning of the video.
In any case I will remove it in a day or two. I may figure out a way to get rid of the copy right flag and post it again corrected
One spelling error in 10 minutes of valuable content… stop it . Lol
Exceptional effort and history lesson.
Now I’m off to sleep for another 45 minutes. 🐶
Blessings
Another one of my translation projects.
This singer, Yuval Dayan,
has a very angelic soul.
She is very clean.
She is also religious.
There is an interesting story about her.
When Biden arrived to Israel after he became President she and another guy were selected to perform to him the song “Let it be” (Beatles).
At the end Biden approached her and wanted to shake her hand. She pulled back and gently refused to shake his hand.
The very religious women do not touch men unless married to him. The Israeli President explained it to him.
But we never saw her keeping this rule before so it was a surprise. The Liberals attacked her for weeks. But she did what she felt she should do. I can’t blame her.
Well David one does not the be religious to refuse to shake hands with a pervert!
So true, Patrick.
Wasn’t going to chime in, but here I am!
I’m glad the lovely woman refused – as I would have.
And for those who do shake his hand — better count your fingers afterwards …
LOL
David: She’s great.

William Shakespeare
(1564-1616)
English poet and playwright (Romeo and Juliet; Macbeth: Hamlet), dies at about 52
Biography: William Shakespeare is often named the greatest writer in the English language and the world’s greatest dramatist. His extant works consist of about 38 plays, 154 sonnets and additional poems.
His plays have been translated into every major living language and have been performed more often than any other playwright.
Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-Avon in England in 1564, the third of eight children to a prominent businessman and official. At 18 he married Anne Hathaway, probably in some hurry, their first child a daughter Susanna was born 6 months later.
It wasn’t until 1592 that Shakespeare is recorded established in London as a founder member of the theatre company The Lord Chamberlain’s Men. From the 1603 the company came under the patronage of King James I as The King’s Men with the Globe as their theatre, which they had constructed in 1599.
It is during this time that Shakespeare wrote his most famous plays, tragedies such as “Macbeth” and “King Lear” and comedies and romances including “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “Romeo and Juliet”.
After Shakespeare’s death in 1616 two of his fellow players published a collection of 36 of his plays in 1623 in the “First Folio” preserving Shakespeare’s works and ensuring his legacy.
Note, Shakespeare was baptized on April 26 and this is traditionally regarded as his birthdate, although the exact date is uncertain.

If I may, are you able to add at some, point a memoriam to Pat Tillman. He joined the army at the height of his NFL career, and was killed 20 years ago on April, 22, 2004.
You are the master at this and could do it justice. ❤️
Wow, 20 yrs ago. I remember him 🙁
He got a very small write up at my usual source, so…
22 April
Patrick Daniel Tillman Jr.
(November 6, 1976 – April 22, 2004)
was an American professional football player for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL) who left his sports career and enlisted in the United States Army in May 2002 in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks. His service in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as his subsequent death, were the subject of national attention. This increased after it was revealed that he was killed by friendly fire.
will repost for tomorrow.
Weird, no burial location / plaque exists for him in findagrave or the VA government locator.
Thank you so very much, MMW. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Such a handsome and brave young man. My heart aches for our true warriors. Where are you, men of courage?
Speaking of – we haven’t seen Deplorable Grunt in a very long time. Prayers of The Lord’s Great Protection over his and his fur friend’s head.
Sad
God morning, Treepers,
Reporting in: Day 2 Puppy Mayhem (if my thoughts seemed scattered, my brain is sleepy and like scrambled eggs)
It is only Day 2, and I’ve seemed to unlock the mystery of how to use sparingly the (cough, choke, cough)… 175… XL and XXL puppy pee pads in the house. (thank God Petco delivers and we live within a good walking distance of their blessed store).
“Miss Thang” was having nothing to do with the fancy puppy food we bought her and rebelled mightily in our attempts… so back to the cheap kind she so seems to thrive upon. She is also not treat motivated yet, but takes well to verbal praise.
She has lived up to her moniker by playing Ring-Around-The-Rosie around my dining table as I attempt to catch her with my arthritic sleepy self after her 3:30 AM walk about. I have found the “key” to avoiding my PTSD from having a human infant that refused to sleep 18 years ago… is to:
* pee and poo at 8:30 pm, 9:30 pm, 11 pm, 3:30 AM, 5:30 AM (only one small non descript accident – this could be me, or it could be her… tee hee)
In my efforts to never throw away anything of good condition and value, I have rekindled the use of Savannah’s fine quality baby receiving blankets.
Rosie has the remarkable patience and grace to have allowed the following:
* to clip her rather long nails if which she has only one teeny tiny dew claw
* a puppy/kitten Hartz flea bath of which we indulge the cats too at least 4 times a year so there’s zero fear and kick back of the bath tub… (I would give my pinky to have back our lovely adjustable shower wand… will have to see if the apartment will allow a modification of such.. so much easier on my back than bailing cup fulls of water)
* five store trips and two store deliveries in two days… one can never have enough baby puppy food and puppy pads… I only started with 10 XXL large pads before calling the calvary!!
* She has two baby gates, a huge 200 lb dog kennel, has a “suite” inside our large main bathroom, count ’em.. 1, 2, 3 puppy beds to flop on and to rotatingly launder, two brands of leash and collar, a puppy “go pack” for the car rides, a myriad of everything chew, and Lamb Chop…of course!)…everything BUT the stroller.
Last night was pan-de-mon-ium. She regaled us with her vocal range of her primal, gutteral call of her wildness… “ah-wooooooo-wooooooo… AH-WOOOOO-WOOOOO…” and I swear, I woke to her yelling at me “mom, Mom, MOM!!!” as she pled her little heart out for some overnight, nocturnal action. How does a half pint like her sleep like an angel through the day and be 100% nocturnal sled dog at night? Call it instinct.
Like the good and clever mom I am… we refused to respond to her every whim… however had the good sense to bring her closer to her new “pack” by using a carefully placed box in the living room among a “slumber party” of her women and male cat folk this evening as we all slumber on our two big couches. She has remained a sweet princess by only small little whimpers to which she immediately goes potty outside and comes right back in… what a very good girl she is.
Thank our God Lord for my 2 1/2 hour power nap, a frozen pizza for dinner, and some quick make-ahead meals when kiddo came home from school. Crock pot meals ahead to put as little effort into “us” through this time as possible. Did I mention it is Prom and Blue Collar Career Week and kiddo has a short two evening work week? Yeah, we are not busy.
The kittahs are pure gentlemen casually overseeing *every* movement of the baby and playing quality control of our parenting skills. Going to hire them as sitters and pay them in fish.
My sleepless last night has been forgiven by some righteous power naps.
Today, we conquer the puppy… (seriously, WHO is conquering WHO here?)… tomorrow we together conquer the world!
Good morning Woo! Darling pup! Lots of love shining in those eyes!!! 💝
God morning to you, Stevie.
Morning (yes it is), Woo.
That’s quite a report! Phew! Don’t know how you do it.
You ought to write some books;…. I felt like I was there with you.
The things you do for love.
It is all for love, P. Savannah is over the moon and she’s turning out to be a pretty good dog.
Harry Houdini, the Maine Coon, was trying to play with her today. The two kitties who got along… fairly, but not swimmingly… have now united in an allegiance… “the enemy of my enemy is my friend”.
No attacks and no swiping – but Rosie did have to growl a little when Harry acted like he was going to jump in her living room box with her. Rosie just isn’t quite ready to snuggle. LOL
Very glad for you ALL💞
the things we do for love ….
I love this song 🎵
This is your brain, this is your brain on puppies.
(Reporting in: Day 2 Puppy Mayhem (if my thoughts seemed scattered, my brain is sleepy and like scrambled eggs)
I was still able to make out the accountant’s report today, though… but I had to look long and hard at it to follow the bouncing ball.
Good for you
Oh Woo!
I’m having trouble breathing I am laughing so hard!!!!
I had planned on bugging you today for pics, but your written description is so spot on and so humorous – it beats all expectations. Guarantee that the kitties and Rosie will become best friends.
And…..what else would Rosie holler but, WOO WOO! 😃 😀 😄 😁 🤣 😂 😃
The irony is not lost on me, lady. LOL
beautiful puppy j ♥️
Thank you, Annie. Blessings on you.
She is really pretty and she’s having fun with the Maine Coon cat, but she’s not taking to her humans. She won’t come to us and runs away, instead of to us. She will not play with us. It’s a little sad.
I am not sure she had much interaction with people in her litter. She’s not treat driven, but she eats well and is overall healthy.
One wants to come home to their pup who is wagging their tail and happy to see them.
We have a one week trial period to see how she acclimates. Let’s pray she falls in love with us.
Right now, I’m wondering if she prefers men to women??? So odd.
The breed can be obstinate but this is super strange for a puppy.
Good morning all. Got my yard mowed yesterday to beat the incoming rain. The right front boogie of the zero turn was flat when I pulled the mower out. I ended up slimming it and went ahead and slimmed the other boogie. Steve helped me with that. Then, since Betty is still recovering from her knee replacement surgery and can’t mow, and Steve’s big 70″ deck mower is down so all he has running is the one with a 52″ deck, I helped Steve mow the back 3 acres after I had my yard done.
The young couple with two little girls that now live in what was Phillis’s house both work and her dad babysits the two 3 year old girls.
The guy isn’t really into yard work but has no choice. He really needed to mow and got home from work in time to do so, but was out practicing his golf shots yesterday. Guess he needed to practice shots from the rough. He mows once the grass is so long and it leaves big lines of cuttings. I told him he could put his sticks and pine cones in my fire pit and told him where he could get a fire ring of his own at a reasonable price.
I already mow a 4′ wide strip of their property on my side of their pine trees for them. But so far have refused to clean out the pine cones from under the those trees. But they’re driving me nuts! I will probably just pick them up and burn them myself.
They’re nice enough people though, and those 3 year old girls are just as cute as can be. Guess I should be satisfied with that.
Rah, Di you know what is safe for pine trees but kills and prevents weeds growing under them besides mulch?
pine needles
Good morn Patience
That worked for years but not any more.
The weeds under one old pine —like an underground jungle reaching for daylight— were four feet solid-high last year. I wanna nip it in the bud if possible.
All the pines on the land around my place here are old and not the type that have branches that grow to the ground.
Pines prefer acidic soil and pine needles themselves are acidic. Stands of young pines will stymie the growth of almost any other plant once they build up a carpet layer of needles underneath. This is of course dependent upon the species of pine, of which there are many, and how thick the stand of young timber.
In parts of the South bales of pine needles are available and applied which act as a kill mulch to almost everything but pine trees themselves. Adding extra needles under a tree may smother out and change the Ph level enough to discourage weed growth.
Should have explained this better in the first place and I am not a master gardener. You should have a master gardener in your county who can best advise you for your specific location.
Nope. Pine needles kill the grass but weeds still come up.
Cut the weeds down this fall. Spread https://www.preen.com/products/preen-garden-weed-preventer/ after you do so. Then early as possible well before the weeds start growing the next year put down preen again. Of course you have to get the pine needles out so the Preen can get in the soil.
That’s the best solution that won’t kill the pine that I can think of.
Preen does not work once the weeds start growing. It only prevents their seeds from sprouting.
Thanks, rah.
If it wasn’t on the street side would let it have its way; buuuut it gets rather unsightly.
I’ll be pulling & wacking and use branch cutters for what looks like saplings (ugh).
Adore a meadow lawn. Clover tall and white capped, Sorrel happy pink in fat vibrant ovals, dread mowing all this beauty & purpose. My acres look like a wedding cake. Paths from house to car, pole barn, sheds, conservatory, materials yard, & pond kept mowed at 1″.
Branches fall from myriad oaks and pecans, gather them up by wheelbarrow as needed, add to burn pile.
Low meadow, with trees at margins, magnifies pollinator populations. Feeds soil, wildlife, insects and soul.
Potager still growing mix of ‘weeds’, good soil coverage, pollinator habitat. Still recovering from hospital last year, impatient, but thankful of survival and zero pain while healing, and able to get on my little tractor this year.
Until healing further along, enjoying the “…scope for the imagination…” low meadow and wild bushy potager providing.
Freedom to tend your land as you see fit. Hope your improving health has you hopping up on that tractor whenever you want Poyeema. Wish I could get pecans started.
Your place sounds lovely, Poyeema – the growth, weeds, and all.
I imagine you enjoy each day and season as it is!
There is beauty to behold in every way.
I pray for your continued healing, P.
Didn’t know of your set-back.
Blessings … 🙏🏻
Yep! That’s why we mow and the view we have from the sun room.
Looking East I look over our back yard to Steve and Betty’s 3 acre field. They have apple, maple, oak, walnut, poplar, and sassafras trees. Beyond that is a hay field. Beyond that a pasture where Brea and Jason’s two horses and donkeys graze. Brea is a veterinarian and has peacocks and chickens also.
Beyond Brea and Jason’s place is a cow pasture where black angus graze. And beyond that there’s another angus cow pasture.

That is so beautifully and descriptively written. Sounds like we have similar properties. My husband is sidelined with health issues, so I deal as “needs must.” (That’s for you, Bets!)
I’m pretty old and asthmatic, so not exactly professional landscaper material. 😃
And…..have an old Kubota tractor to help with chores. Couldn’t manage without it.
I must say, our “meadows” are home for various bees, dragonflys, hummingbirds, etc. Which makes them pretty palatable.
We consider all the branches and uncut limbs part of our prepping! Makes us feel better.
I so hope your healing process continues and accelerates. Prayers up 🙏
THE WORSHIP OF THE WORK
“Labourers together with God.” 1 Cor. iii. 9
Beware of any work for God which enables you to evade concentration on Him. A great many Christian workers worship their work. The one concern of a worker should be concentration on God, and this will mean that all the other margins of life, mental, moral and spiritual, are free with the freedom of a child, a worshipping child, not a wayward child. A worker without this solemn dominant note of concentration on God is apt to get his work on his neck; there is no margin of body, mind or spirit free, consequently he becomes spent out and crushed. There is no freedom, no delight in life; nerves, mind and heart are so crushingly burdened that God’s blessing cannot rest. But the other side is just as true – when once the concentration is on God, all the margins of life are free and under the dominance of God alone. There is no responsibility on you for the work; the only responsibility you have is to keep in living constant touch with God, and to see that you allow nothing to hinder your co-operation with Him. The freedom after sanctification is the freedom of a child, the things that used to keep the life pinned down are gone. But be careful to remember that you are freed for one thing only – to be absolutely devoted to your co-Worker.
We have no right to judge where we should be put, or to have preconceived notions as to what God is fitting us for. God engineers everything; wherever He puts us our one great aim is to pour out a whole-hearted devotion to Him in that particular work. “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might.”
Oswald Chambers
April 23rd Devotional
All done in the shadow of the all mighty God.
In our devotion we find victory, in our victory we admire our success, in our admiration we build our ego! Our ego then battles our devotion for attention.
Paul talks of this, you must understand this. Do not pick up guilt or remorse when your ego is fed. Allow it, and move on. The battle is the victory and the joy. Complacency or indecision allows death to creep in and ego to thrive like cancer. You will never be free from ego, it is the conductor to this symphony but it is not the master of your instrument, you must be.

A favorite mental image is rolling into Denver as the full moon sets over the mountains just before dawn.
Personally I love seeing the communist leftists at the Universities tearing themselves apart over their support for the terrorist Palestinians. The last time the Democrats held their convention in Chicago (1968) it was a nightmare, and I have hopes that the something similar or perhaps even worse, will happen this time.
It’s not just the pro terrorists that are pissed. There is a whole lot of dissatisfaction among the blacks. It should be interesting.
I agree, they built that filth why worry they destroy it. They ponder their agony whilst they tear at their own flesh. Sound familiar? Happens in hell.

Good morn All!
The Gold Finches are in.
I realize I’m on the common core fringe of most here but there may be a few who sang this in Sunday School.
I remember “Do, Lord”. Lot’s of hymns and songs phased out due to ‘progressiveism’
How the heck does one live under communism?
Communism is a lie and souls die
I remember “Do Lord” too, P.
Love the hymns – so much Biblical truths in them.
Thankful I was raised on them as a child …
Hi Monti, goldfinches are a sight for the eyes!
Thankfully, they’re here at our place year round, but the male is not colorful in the winter.
We have bluebirds, too, and can’t decide which bird is my favorite!?
Both are stunning beauties. Thanks be to God…
One hummingbird returned on Sunday and I’m over the moon.
They’re my daily buddies till September.
Hi Miss Della!
You have hummingbirds already? I hope that no early ones in our area yet, we had frost this morning, too cold for the little guys still.
Yes, just one on Sunday.
Haven’t seen again.
I read that males arrive first and females two weeks later.
We do have baby bluebirds!
Been watching mother take food into the box this morn.
So sweet…
I think I mentioned we have a lot of hummers – even in winter – though I have been consulting books, and I think the winter residents are a different species? 🤔
You birders know so much more.
There are all kinds of other birds who partake of the feeders – some type of oriole, wood peckers, cardinals, and cactus wrens. Pretty busy diner!
I really stink at posting photos, but I’ll give it a go!
Monti, you might like this little story hubs told me!
Several years ago (when hubs was a deer hunter) he allowed a good friend – a devoted turkey hunter – to hunt turkeys on his plot.
His friend killed two male turkeys, standing side-by-side, at the same time with one shot.
Is that the meaning of “killing two birds with one stone?” 😂
That would be quite an accomplishment Miss Della, to get two gobblers with one shot. The fellow must be a skilled hunter and a great shot.
It’s turkey season right now locally and my daughter is wishing she could skip work to go afield. She’s a skilled hunter but only a fair game shot.
Two birds in hand is better than one! Thank you for the hunting tale and have a great day.
Sorry, I have to insert this, something I learned in the last couple of years. All of you probably already knew it. I as wondering if the same thing applies to the Goldfinches. I may need to check it out. Why are bluebirds blue? Unlike many other bird colors, blue is not a pigment but a color produced by the structure of the feathers. Tiny air pockets and melanin pigment crystals in each feather scatter blue light and absorb the other wavelengths.
Hello Lady, I did not know that about bluebirds! Thanks!
The link below includes good info on goldfinches.
They begin to molt in September for 8 weeks and get dull feathers for winter.
Then, for spring, they molt again, getting bright feathers.
Probably to attract females, I think.
The link has twelve photos showing the progression of colors.

My folks were so animal oriented – I brought home injured ducks, seagulls, squirrels etc and they helped me care for them. We lived in a ground floor three family rental and they didn’t worry about the consequences. God bless them.

Complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. – Philippians 2:2
The United States has been experiencing an increase in partisan animosity. According to Pew Research, negative feelings from both sides more than doubled between 1994 and 2014. By August 2023, Gallup polling showed the division expanding to a point never seen before.
What are Christians to do as the country around them is so deeply divided?
Followers of Christ must recognize that their first loyalty is to God and Him alone. “You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear him and keep his commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and hold fast to him” (Deuteronomy 13:4).
Always remember that Jesus is the King of kings. He is above and over everything in the political world.
Jesus stated, in Matthew 4:10, that the Lord is the only One you shall serve. The believer must focus on building trust and confidence in God. Navigate the issues with level-headedness, avoiding the anxiety and hysteria of media outlets. “For God gave us a spirit not of fear, but of power and of love and self-control” (2 Timothy 1:7).
Be willing to take a stand where the Bible takes a stand. “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind” (Romans 12:2).
God’s word holds the truth (John 17:17). Seek unity in the body of Christ as today’s verse says and, as much as it is possible and up to you, live peaceably with all people (Romans 12:18).
Pray fervently over the coming election.

It sounds like a good measuring instrument but it has no intrinsic value unless we have digital technology. I can’t get past that.
These videos I share are for Treepers who have zero to little knowledge of Bitcoin to hear something outside their normal circle including that of the Treehouse.
Intrinsic value? Intrinsic value is measured by inherent objective measure. Since there is nothing like it, ever, in the history of mankind to compare it to, hence that objection isn’t as good as some others I’ve heard. I won’t convince you, but I would encourage all Treepers to stop watching whatever media you’re watching and go down this rabbit hole to learn everything you can. Palerider I respect your view, but you would do well to research. Since the ETFs were approved in January institutions you are going to see some movement in its adoption like nothing that has ever been.
You’ll get past it when FOMO hits the masses. I’ve also posted about nostr, which is heading to be the next internet, and zap.stream the next YT. I’m just the messenger bro, don’t take my word for it. It’s being developed worldwide and there’s nothing any government can do to stop it. Of all the people in the world, Treepers should be leading the way in knowing about it JMHO.
I’ll continue to post on it here for those who are open to a deflationary economic system that continues to get better as our broken system continues to get worse.
I have a couple questions for yall. Where should I make a new email and who should I follow on Telegram?
First question: not sure what you mean… like @ something? Your provider?
second question: depends on who you like I guess. Or try to find your mesh + applied critical thinking.

He wrote a wonderful study book on the Bible. It is called Explore the Book.
Thank you, T. for this reminder!
His book had been on my “To Do” list forever!

Verse of the Day for Tuesday, April 23, 2024

“…for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
Nehemiah 8:10 (KJV)
Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered !!!
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.
PLEASE PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER
CRY OUT WITH JOY
Cry out with joy to our mighty Lord;
Heed the commands in His Holy Word;
Sing Psalms of praise and thanksgiving;
All ye who dwell in the land of the living!
Serve Him with true gladness of heart;
From His grace – pray – do not depart;
Know that He – the Lord is our God;
We belong to Him – though we are flawed!
We are His people – the sheep of His flock;
His precious, petulant – errant livestock;
In fervent pastures – we take our repose;
We are the servants He faithfully chose!
Indeed how lovingly He cares for us;
We are His children – His main focus;
From age to age – His mercy endures;
His faithfulness and constancy ensures!
Enter His gates singing sweet Psalms of Praise;
Into His courts – with thanksgiving you raise;
Your voices in song – glad tidings you bring;
All Honor and Glory is His you sing!
Give thanks to the Lord for he is good;
His mercy endures – just as it should;
His Love everlasting is tried and true;
Unconditionally given for me and you!
Cry out with joy and praise His name;
His love is forever and ever the same;
He changes not from day to day;
He is steadfast and sure come what may!
Serve Him with gladness – enter singing;
His precepts are sound – ever bringing;
Correction with love and glorious peace;
Cry out with joy – His praise never cease!
Go out with joy and share His great love;
Mindful of blessings He bestows from above;
Shout from the rooftops – He is the Lord;
His victory assured – in His Holy Word!

When distance has lost its enchantment and the ardor for adventure has cooled, when danger has been bravely faced and wonder satiated, hearts long for a resting place …that hallows life and gives refuge to man’s tired soul.
Taken from Leaves of Gold.
Such lovely, deep thoughts in a sometimes shallow world, Pms.
Lately, I understand those words …
Thank you.
(Did not know about this book.)
Clifford and Daisy May were married for many years.
Whenever there was a confrontation, yelling could be heard deep into the night. Clifford would shout, “When I die, I’ll dig my way up and out of the grave and come back and haunt you for the rest of your life ol’ woman!!”
Neighbors feared him. Old Clifford liked the fact that he was feared.
He died at the ripe old age of 98.
After the burial, Daisy May’s neighbors, concerned for her safety, asked, “Aren’t you afraid that he may indeed be able to dig his way out of the grave and haunt you for the rest of your life?”
She replied, “LET HIM DIG. I HAD HIM BURIED UPSIDE DOWN…AND I KNOW HE WON’T ASK FOR DIRECTIONS.”
That’s a good one, P. 😹
I tell hubs the same thing.
Then he straightens up and flies right!
You’ve got it handled right!
-gotta pick yer battles without a fight.
😁😎
I can hear him now, “I don’t need no stinking directions,” as they pass the same fork in the road for the third time!
Like this, P, but sorta sad …
Only one chair?
Can get lonesome, I think.
Yes…, I thought about that.
sigh , but after three middle of the night wake-ups (God bless Ma; she is awfully sweet and has the cutest disposition) , that musta been the appeal.
I hear you, P.
Sometimes solitude is heaven-sent.
You have my respect and admiration for taking care of your dear mother.
God sees every moment and hears every sigh.
Can be terribly difficult, no matter how much we love them.
(I know!)
Be strong, P.
🙏🏻🥰
Thanks for your thoughtful empathy 😜…
Overall I thank God every night for His Blessings and ask to keep her safe and to continue His miracles.
It really is an honor and a privilege—really.
✝️So lucky to still have her here; and we do laugh and sing a lot.
I honestly think the highest honor of my life was caring for Dad in home hospice here at our house. I wish he were still here, but the time we shared was the best and worst of times wrapped into one.
The best thing we did was invest in a high quality video/audio monitor. I could go feed animals, water plants etc, and keep track.
Whether right or wrong, I never told him I could see him. I told him that if he called me, I would respond. He was a very proud man – I didn’t want to interfere with his dignity.
The lack of solitude is a difficult issue. I know you are up to the challenge, but wish I could help. ❤️
I could say so many things …. you already know, yes.

DECLARATIONS, DECREES, AND DEFINITIONS:
God is preparing us. Rejoice! Because He is your victory and provider.
God is warning His children and wants you to be prepared. But instead of getting into fear, you’re supposed to be shouting and rejoicing.
Don’t let the enemy steal your joy.
Shift your focus AWAY from the attacks that are coming. Do not panic.
Jesus came to bring the power of the devil to nothing.
You need to hear the Word of God and then do something about it.
What should you do when the enemies are threatening to attack? First response should be to PRAY.
Attack the enemy with the Word of God, and praise & worship.
Marching Order: Resist the devil.
Once you start using the authority of God, attacks will come. That means the enemy is scared. Shut him up.
When you’re praising God, it destroys the power of the enemy.
FEAR: False Evidence Appearing Real
Use your authority. Speak to your mountains and problems.
Know the Word of God!
God is your victory, peace, joy and refuge. He is all you need.
It’s time to be fully convinced and be in the Army of the Lord!

In the wake of North America’s recent solar eclipse, there is another 2024 historic natural event on the horizon.
From late April through June 2024, the largest brood of 13-year cicadas, known as Brood XIX, will coemerge with a midwestern brood of 17-year cicadas, Brood XIII the Magicicada.
Brood X emergence – The secrets of this spring’s rare double brood emergence only for a few weeks, affecting 17 states; from Maryland west to Iowa and south into Arkansas, Alabama, and northern Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.
A coemergence like this of two specific broods with different life cycles happens only once every 221 years. The last time these two groups emerged together was in 1803, when Thomas Jefferson was president.
