Last night, I looked up prices for military stuff because I was thinking about that $61 billion that the Biden administration wants to send to Ukraine as well as a few more billion in “humanitarian aid” that is included under additional money in the total $91 billion.
Translating $61 billion into weapons, ammunition, tanks and shells for those tanks, armored vehicles, mine clearance, artillery systems and shells, air defense systems and shells, repair parts and supplies, training, Ukrainian government salaries, pensions, infrastructure maintenance, and transport of supplies, it isn’t going to go very far, certainly not enough to engineer a victory.
So, sending another $61 billion is not going to bring about victory. It’s not going to make up for the casualties and destroyed equipment. It’s money into a black hole of profits for Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, etc., money into the pockets of corrupt Ukrainians, and kickbacks via campaign contributions to Congress.

If a Tomahawk cruise missile cost $2 million, then with $61 billion, a country could buy 30,500 missiles.

Cruise missile $2 million
Patriot Battery $2.5 billion
Patriot missile $6 million
So with $61 billion, they could only purchase 24 Patriot batteries and would not have any left to buy the patriot missiles. (PAC-3 MSE) Or, they could buy 12 batteries and 5000 air defense missiles.
They might be able to “print” the $61 billion in less than a day, but it would take years to build 12 Patriot batteries and 5000 missiles. . .
BTW – The Russians could destroy 12 Patriot batteries in less than six months, easily . . .
Exactly. I looked up some things like the cost of one M777 battery. The cost of 155mm shells for it. The fact that Ukraine needs at least 6,000 shells per day. MaxxPro armored vehicle. Abrams tank.

CHICAGO — Officials report that four individuals residing in a downtown Chicago migrant shelter have been accused of assaulting and robbing a passenger on the Pink Line.
The group allegedly assaulted and robbed the 48-year-old victim on a train close to the Kostner station at approximately 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, according to a news release from the Chicago Police Department (CPD).
Chicago police apprehended the suspects roughly 45 minutes later at the Pulaski station.
Is it still illegal to rob and strangle people in Chicago?
