The Met Office has been unable to back up a claim that storms in the U.K. are “more intense” due to the effects of climate change. The claim was made by senior Met Office meteorologist Claire Nasir on January 22nd on BBC 5 Live Breakfast in the aftermath of Storm Isha, and led to a freedom of information request for an explanation by investigative journalist Paul Homewood. The Met Office has replied that it is unable to answer the request due to the fact that the information “is not held”.
In fact the Met Office could have addressed the claim that storms are growing in intensity by referring to its own ‘State of the Climate 2022’ report:
The most recent two decades have seen fewer occurrences of maximum gust speeds above these thresholds [40/50/60 knots] than during previous decades, particularly comparing the period before and after 2000. This earlier period [before 2000] also included among the most severe storms experienced in the U.K. in the observational records including the ‘Burns Day Storm’ of January 25th 1990, the ‘Boxing Day Storm’ of December 26th 1998 and the ‘Great Storm’ of October 16th 1987. Any comparison of storms is complex as it depends on severity, spatial extent and duration. Russia has announced the death of Navalny. Before any autopsy or any circumstances have been done or made public, western media immediately is calling it murder by Putin.
Navalny has been on a hunger strike for several weeks and finally was convinced by his lawyers and family to end the hunger strike because his physical condition had deteriorated considerably. Western media has said that Navalny was missing. He wasn’t missing, but Russian media gave no information and no access to Navalny to publicize his hunger strike.
If Vladimir Putin had any reason whatsoever to kill Navalny, it would not have been a public event and Navalny would just disappear. Navalny has been convicted more than once for fraud. His wife’s financial transactions with NGO’s and billionaires has come under recent investigation. He has known ties to CIA, MI6, and western intelligence. He is lauded in western media for his opposition to Vladimir Putin, but he has never offered proof of any of his claims that Putin is corrupt and even MI6 has said that there is nothing that indicates that Putin ever took a bribe.
So, why now? Vladimir Putin gave an interview to Tucker Carlson that gave him positive image in the west. In fact, it has been so positive that the intelligence services have to figure out ways to counter that.
How are they countering that image? First was the Mike Turner announcement of Russian super space nuclear weapons. That didn’t work too well because almost everyone saw through that idiocy to the real motive to pass the $61 trillion for Ukraine.
Second, they can kill Navalny and blame it on that “murderous villain”, Vladimir Putin. Maybe then Congress will pass the $91 million bill to subsidize the corrupt Ukrainian government, Israel, and various other billions of money laundering opportunities and grift for the MIC.
This is not an event for the benefit of Vladimir Putin or Russia. Think about it. The only possible benefit is to western propaganda.
Remember that the Ukrainian intelligence/secret police had arrested Gonzalo Lira, a journalist with US and Chilean citizenship. They tortured him and he later got pneumonia and died in prison. The US State department did nothing to save Gonzalo from this fate.
He was an outspoken journalist in Kharkiv and spoke the truth as he knew it from his location. His message didn’t fit the US/UK/EU narrative as they lie about most everything dealing with the war in Ukraine.
