There have been growing calls for strikes against Houthi targets in recent weeks, and the U.S. has issued direct warnings of consequences if attacks were to continue. Now that reprisal strikes have begun, the threat level in the region has changed. The potential for Iranian proxies beyond Yemen to drastically increase their operations or even Iran getting involved more directly are palpable. U.S. installations will be put on high alert. Bases in Iraq and Syria, which have been under regular attacks from Iranian-aligned militias, are under greater threat now. Far closer to the action, the sprawling Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti is just 100 miles from Yemeni shores and could come under large scale attack directly from Houthi drones and missiles. The top reason why the U.S. waited so long to strike the Houthis was out of fear of a wider conflict could erupt at a time when the region is already at great risk of doing so due to the Israel-Hamas war.
While I have little doubt that US intel agencies are involved with the Houthis in Yemen, as was alluded to in Sundances post last evening, the bottom line for me is the fact that defenseless US flagged merchant vessels are under continuous attack. That cannot stand and those Houthi missile and drone bases must be taken out. Throughout our country’s history that circumstance has always been dealt with by our Navy and Marines (you know the whole “Shores of Tripoli” thing) and justifiably so.

It’s amazing to me how anyone much less the Establishment Republicans can continue to justify approving the $5T, $6T ++ spending our government does. They pass Continuing Resolutions, Omnibus Spending Bills and continue raising the debt ceiling to allow for this.

This has been my thought…..our budget to run the country has never approached 5 or 6 trillion…..it was only recently gone from billions to trillions……And yes there is NO WAY for them to line by line budgeting to know where trillions are going.

Just think if we actually hired thousands of outside auditors,accountants, to comb through every program, department and present a real audit and accounting, what would be the result? Same reason they won’t audit the FED. It could be done and should be done.

Scientists in China, experimenting with a coronavirus closely related to the virus that causes COVID-19, found that it had a 100 percent kill rate in a small mouse study, according to the researchers’ announcement on Jan. 4.
The scientists, including a doctor trained by the Chinese military, cloned a pangolin coronavirus and infected modified mice to “assess its pathogenicity,” they said in a preprint paper published on bioRxiv.
Of the four mice infected with the virus, all began to lose weight five days post-infection. Shortly thereafter, they exhibited symptoms including sluggishness and white eyes.
The four mice died within eight days of inoculation. Researchers described the results as “surprising.”
Researchers then infected eight additional mice, euthanized them, and selected organs from four to analyze. High levels of viral RNA were found in various organs, including the brain, lungs, and eyes. While the viral load in the lungs decreased by the sixth day, it increased in the brain.
“This finding suggested that severe brain infection during the later stages of infection may be the key cause of death in these mice,” the scientists said.
The experiments were on a mutant strain of the pangolin virus, known as GX_P2V(short_3UTR).
The results suggest a risk for the virus to “spill over into humans,” researchers said.
Justin Kinney, an associate professor at the Simons Center for Quantitative Biology at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in the U.S., said the research described in the paper does not seem to fall under the category of gain-of-function because the Chinese scientists did not purposefully enhance the virus to be more pathogenic or transmissible.
“The research is still very dangerous, though,” Mr. Kinney told The Epoch Times via email. “I am especially concerned that the paper does not say what biosafety level the work was performed at. Coronavirus research in China is often done at a biosafety level (BSL-2) that is inadequate for working with potential pandemic pathogens that might be transmitted by air.

An oil tanker has been boarded and seized by Iranian forces in Gulf of Oman, Tehran’s Navy confirmed on Thursday.
The St Nikolas – a Greek-owned vessel bearing the Marshall Islands flag – was taken in retaliation for last year’s incident in which the US captured a cargo of Iranian oil from the same ship, according to Iran’s Navy.
The “seizure took place on a court order,” the Navy reported, as the “Suez Rajan tanker had earlier stolen an Iranian oil cargo and handed it over to the US.”
Under the name Suez Rajan, the vessel was in the spotlight of a legal battle last year, after the watchdog organization United Against Nuclear Iran reported that it was transporting Iranian oil to China in violation of US sanctions.
The US seized the vessel, and in the following court case, the charterers of the vessel pleaded guilty and received fines. The tanker ultimately cooperated with the US and sailed to Houston, where nearly a million barrels of Iranian oil were confiscated. Iran then pledged to retaliate.🤷🏻♂️

Health care and nurses….I have been an RN for well over 40 years. With the onset of the ACA, they made my field justify their/our existence and ‘high’ pay….the goal for at least 35 of those years, is to replace the RN with lower paid and less educated personnel…while at the same time, it has been proven time and time again…the patients who have an RN with a BSN, do far and experience fewer setbacks while hospitalized.
Hospital care became compromised by the bean counters…rushing patients thru to get better…running units short staffed…rushing nurses to do their jobs…

Wade ended up pocketing nearly $700,000 from Fulton county taxpayers – with which he allegedly took Willis on lavish vacations.
Now, Wade’s wife has alleged in divorce documents that he failed to disclose over $700,000 in earnings from the county, and has continued to draw from her bank account, leaving it “routinely overdrawn” despite “the clear inequity in financial circumstances,” the Daily Caller reports.
Wade filed to divorce his stay-at-home wife of 20 years on November 2nd, 2021, the day after Fani hired him as a Special Prosecutor in the Trump case. He had his divorce sealed on February 10th, 2022, according to the 127-page filing by Trump co-defendant Michael Roman.
Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene sent a criminal referral Wednesday to Republican Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and Attorney General Chris Carr asking for an investigation into Willis and expressing “serious concerns” about the allegations. Greene suggested Willis could have violated a number of Georgia statutes, including violations of public oath, bribery, improper influence of a government official and more.
The Monday motion did not cite hard evidence that Willis and Wade were romantically involved but referenced “sources close to both the special prosecutor and the district attorney” who confirmed their ongoing relationship. -Daily Caller
