During his review of Gay’s plagiarism, Mr. Egan notes Mrs. Gay has not been “accused of stealing ideas,” she has been accused of “copying other people’s writing without attribution.” Yes, he actually said that.

I am really impressed by how she first apologized and conveyed regret for all her literary transgressions. NOT!
My guess would be that her attorneys have made clear that admission isn’t an option if she wants to be paid the negotiated settlement.
They simply won’t delve any further because they want to pay her the reparations for accusing her of blatant theft.
But will she respect them in the morning?

Isn’t that another way of saying plagiarizing? Oh, and to clarify your ignorance, several of the ideas that were copied WERE stolen from those “right wing activists” and thus, you can understand their angst. FYI, Joe Biden also was guilty of “copying ideas without attribution”. He, too, was forced to resign. Not as President of Harvard but from a presidential campaign.
Had she simply come out and apologized to those academics who work she attributed to herself when the work, in point of fact, belonged to others maybe this wouldn’t have blown up in her face. Had she come out and apologized to every student accused and/or punished for plagiarism at Harvard, then maybe this wouldn’t have blown up in her face.. She just couldn’t put her arrogance aside and admit that she was WRONG. She couldn’t admit that she stole the ideas and statements of others and represented them as her own. The Harvard degree has no value. The wealthy folks don’t need the degree; it is a box to check. The Equity admissions prove the degree has no value. The Few intelligent kids will go to schools that provide value. The Board needs to be removed.

Which is very true so not sure Ms. Gay has any standing to claim through her attorneys the rights for any separation payment or settlement amount because one would think any Harvard alumni or students or donors could sue Harvard for paying any money to her since she isn’t, never was, a ‘doctor’ or Ph.D. and in fact, the woman could be sued by Harvard for her false employment application!
