Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Maine authorities thought confronting Robert Card would inflame situation in weeks before shooting
A law enforcement officer in Maine declined to take action against the individual who would go on to kill 18 people because of fears that it would only inflame the situation, newly released dashcam video shows.
Robert Card carried out a deadly rampage at the Schemengees Bar and Grille and Just In Time bowling alley in Lewiston that killed 18 people and wounded 13 other victims on Oct. 25.
Dashcam video obtained by the Portland Press Herald contains footage showing a Sept. 16 interaction between Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Sgt. Aaron Skolfield and Army Reserve Capt. Jeremy Reamer.
Skolfield was following up with Reamer about some of Card’s behavior, which included a threat to “shoot up” an Army reserve center in Saco, Maine.
According to the report, the sheriff’s office responded to that report by going to Card’s residence for a “welfare check” and shortly staking out the Army reserve center.
Morning Ya’ll 🙂
Howdy jay! That looks good after a sleepless night for me. However, the herbal tea has to do. 😆
Howdy Gramps keep up the good work 🇺🇸🤠🇺🇸
Good morning, GrandpaM.
Mornin, Woo❣️
Blessed morning, dear Patience and Ma. I pray it a GOOD one for you both.
Just finished a fruit salad brunch with kid. Fixins for the Squash soup roasting in oven.
I read you were taking over dinner duties for Christmas. Shall we share a glass of wine, a la Julia Child, while we labor in the kitchen?
Little for the recipes, little for us…
Afternoon JWoo and Patience! ❤️
Morning, dear bro 💕 🌲 I’ll bet your mom is baking some your favourites from the old country. O working on my opening cup of black tea with a sachet of green tea thrown in for good measure… 😘
🫖
Good Christmas Eve Eve, dear Patience and Ma! 🌲💕🌲 Got your stockings hung by the chimney with care? ?
All the better for me to put all my Christmas blessings in which I am sending to you both with lots of love 😘
Merry Christmas Betsy!
Merry Christmas, dear GB!!!💕🌲 I hope you’ll be enjoying family somewhere, dear sir. May the Spirit which is the joy of the birth of our Saviour be with each of you, my friend🙏🏻🕊
Thanks Betsy. We are having the surviving family (wife & I are the oldest senior snow) over for Christmas dinner right here at our house. Granddaughter and her main squeeze are coming down from CT. The Mrs. is busy busy making two big pots of her Spanish Paella which will be the main dish this year. That was always the featured dish in her family and especially at her grandparents’ Spanish restaurant in Baltimore down by the harbor.
We are the seniors as well, GB…
WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN?!?!!!
I’m sure the paella will be delicious 😌 Mrs GB could make it with her eyes closed, no doubt. I hope she doesn’t wear herself out, but I know there will be appreciative eaters around the table…an absolute must for anyone who cooks for love🤗 Blessing to all in your house, dear sir. And as we say in Wales…Nadolig Llawen!!!🌲🌲🌲
(That’s an easy one…wait till you see the New Year’s greeting 😎😁😁)
As my wife’s family says, Feliz Navidad!
As most of my ancestors used to say – Fröhliche Weihnachten !
Thank you! In whatever language, Christ’s birth is celebrated the world over. And speaking of German…
Just finished listening to Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, a beautiful performance. And now my Christmas Spirit has been ignited…
Afternoon Bet! Yes, she is cooking away, mostly finished. Just got back from her house from helping her set her table for later today. Today is my stepdad’s birthday and we are having a small gathering to remember him with a meal of some of his favorite eats and a glass or maybe 2 of red wine. He liked his red wine quite a bit.
She was going to make all that stuff for tomorrow but our daughter and son in law found a family that does catering and they are trying to make extra money for their little girl’s hospital bill. Which works just fine because somehow we managed to get to 30 people including all the grands.
We have the 3 youngest for a sleepover tonight. But first Elizabeth will take them to church so they can attend the children’s choir practice for tomorrow’s Christmas Eve service. Busy Lizzy had that idea that besides singing to Jesus they would serenade their Grandpa for his birthday and when she gets an ideam she makes it happen. ❤️😍
So tomorrow is church in the morning. Have to wake up the kiddos and make pancakes. Family dinner in the early afternoon, then Christmas Eve service, and maybe some birthday adult beverage at the end of the evening.
Oh my!!! I’m visualising it all, beloved friend, and I’m really feeling a surge of Christmas Spirit all around you. I bet the children are positively jumping with anticipation. And as Jesus is the reason for this happy Season, I am glad He will be their focus with I’m sure the beautiful choir.
And yes! Toast your stepdad with the red wine he loved. It’s healthful you know(full of Resveratol) so two glasses won’t hurt and might even help your splendid recovery 👍🏻😉
Bless you all for helping your lovely caterer. I am so sorry she is saddled with odious hospital bills and would say what I’m feeling, but I’m sure you know what that would be….I do pray her little girl is well recovered, or at least on the way to being so. Lots of prayers, G🙏🏻
We are by ourselves again. So I will make a pot roast. That will carry us for about four days which is brilliant.
Make those Christmassy mental cocktails and have a wonderful day!! 💕🌲💕
only if you do not spike a herbal tea….
He might, you know, sejmon😉
Not yet, LOL! I do have some moonshine, though.
Hi, Pa❣️
Hi Patience! ❤️
Good morning, Jay.
Blessings on you, friend, for setting up the ambiance, so we can hit it out of the ball park today.
I’ll gently pass on the cakes, as sugar seems to have become my nemesis. Not diabetic, but it seems to make me cough and I just feel better without it.
However, I delight in the rich coffee and note paper. I’ll join you at the fire for some writing.
Good morning, Woo and Savannah🌲💕🌲 I bet those little cakes are sugar free..lies I tell myself😎😘
Blessed morning, dear Betsy.
I had to climb out of the Tree for a moment to stir the daughter. If we were to attend water aerobics, we would have had to leave by now. She opted for sleeping in.
I never dissuade her from rest.
She’s finally free from school for 2 1/2 weeks and home is safety for her.
She is curled up with our orange cat, Timmy, and they are bliss together.
I’m awaiting delivery of the children’s books I’ve ordered to go with their tractor and horsey embroidered Carhartt hats for Christmas. We see them Wednesday.
I’ll do a bit of housekeeping and will prepare for tomorrow’s dinner:
Roasted Butternut Squash Coconut Curry soup
Lemon Thyme Cornish Game Hens
Oven baked, bone in, ham
Butter Beans
Normandy Vegetables (yellow and orange carrots, broccoli, cauliflower)
Penne Pasta with sharp white cheddar and parmesan cheese sauce (extra sauce for the Normandy veg)
Apple Pie with candied ginger
Cooking for six, but my friend’s mother is still resting from her surgery, discharged thankfully yesterday. We will send dinner to them through their daughter. The Squash soup is mainly for her.
Girl, nothing says love like cooking for those who are precious to us. The menu sounds wonderful. I’m sure the soup will be most gratefully welcomed. Thank goodness your friend’s mother is home for Christmas. Hospitals are not nice places not be any time, but at Christmas??
It’s a lovely vision you’ve given of your girl and her Timmy together. Yes, let her enjoy her time away from the madness she has to endure. It should never have been this way…ever. Make those mental cocktails, Woo, as she edges towards the exits of the life she has known into the world we all know so well. My daughter is doing that with her graduating twin sons. I think it has finally hit her that all I’ve told her she would experience emotionally as they leave home was the absolute truth. We never stop being mothers, even as our children disappear from daily sight.
So chop chop, Chef Woo!! Back to the kitchen!! All that gorgeous fare won’t cook itself! Love ya, dear friend (((hug for Savannah, please))) 😘
That menu sounds delicious!
Come over! There’s plenty to be had. 🥰
Hear…………Hear………..to
” setting up the ambiance, so we can hit it out of the ball park today.”
Blessed morning, Poyeema.
I’m blessed beyond measure to be here this morning with you.
My good and faithful Treeper friends.
Feeling blessings too, JWoo.
The written letter seems to be a lost art today, not being an English major or minor it’s always been a bit tiring for me. But i’d still write a few letters a year, now it seems to be e-mail or text. 🙂 🙂
Jay 1776,
I hope the written word will outlast us. I often think of my daughter picking up my old journals to learn what her mother thought about this or that…or for her to see my prayers to God. She may need them when she grows her own children.
Blessings on you, dear Jay.
Good morning Jay!!! 🤗 I’ve missed your posts…LOL! Merry Christmas! 🎄
God morning, Stevie, girl.
JWoo!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤗💝🎄
I’m dreaming today…searching for a new cross stitch or embroidery pattern! My go-to for relaxation plus it adds to my home’s ambience…! So many choices LOL!
Embroidery is so beautiful, Stevie. I envy your patience with it.
My mother was gifted in it, yet I never had the skill or gifted hand.
My crocheting was always too tight, too crooked. I’ve only cross stitched once or twice as a young child to make little ornaments.
I can sew buttons, sew a tear, and agonize over hemming pants as I did when child was young for her too long uniform pants.
I hated hemming pants. It took me 1 1/2 hours just to do one pant leg and I was self conscious as the wealthy families at the school could afford the seamstress and I did my best to not send her with crooked little hems to go along with her clearance tennis shoes bought 2 and 3 years in advance for her to grow into them!
We were so frugal and poor. I can’t believe they ever let us in that fancy school… let alone stay for nine years. Shaking my head. Thank God for Savannah’s inability to pick up on social queues… she never realized how little we fit in there. She was gloriously ambivalent.
Then, I learned about the iron-in adhesive that cheats. Where was that all my life???
I did sew a pilgrims outfit for daughter out of an old bed skirt for a play. Then an Indian outfit out of an old brown sheet and a hot glued Indian feather headdress. And yet another Moses outfit out of a dark blue bed sheet, with a thick golden rope tasseled drapery tie-back as her tunic belt and large hardwood walking stick as her staff. (You’ve brought back some funny memories.)
I really need to go back through our old archived photos and label them to find them. Someday, I’ll try to share. She was so darling little.
Enjoy your sewing and I’ll make the lunch and the tea and set myself to some use.
It’s amazing how we fall into our favorite hobbies. A friend years ago got me started with counted cross stitch and today that’s all that dresses my walls. But its been a few years 🙄 since I laid it down and never got back to it. Just got too busy. Now, I feel pushed to pick it back up…stock up on supplies…and move back into the peace and satisfaction of colors evolving into a picture before my eyes! And it’s strange in a sense, even though I know how to sew clothes, it’s definitely not the same interest as making pictures with thread. I’m actually excited LOL! Also, I’ve never done embroidery, but I’m mesmerized with the patterns so I think I’m going to add that and see if I like it…well see…haha
I tried my hand at smocking….it was fun to see the item take shape but also labor intensive….I had gone to a local (back in the day) shop that would pleat your fabric in preparation for the smoking activity. I enjoyed that!
Aggiegirl,
I had to look that up! I had no idea what smocking was. Learn something new every day.
that is an excellent way to “stay our of trouble”
I sew all day when I can get away with it. I make quilts and can’t stop until I use up all of my fabric.
Merrry Christmas
Merry Christmas Rosemary! 🎄🎄🎄
I love the quilt patterns but have never done one. It kinda overwhelms me and maybe one day I can work with someone that has that craft mastered. There’s nothing like homemade items to warm up a home…thank you for sharing! 🤗
Rosemary B,
One of the few regrets that I have, is that I didn’t save remnants of my daughter’s baby clothes to have a quilt made. That would have been the most beautiful graduation gift for her. One for her and another for me. I couldn’t have made it myself, but I certainly would have paid a pretty penny for such a gift as this. I’m sad I didn’t think of it sooner, but I’ve mentioned it to daughter, so hopefully she will do so for her own children.
What a beautiful craft you have.
stevie, my mother was an expert with needlepoint and gave it up when her eyesight wouldn’t let her be as precise with her stitching. I have a few pieces which she did, including a sweet small tabby/ginger kitty shaped occasional cushion.
Somewhere down the line my beautiful multi talented 15 year old granddaughter must have main lined my mother’s talents. (I shall tell you it skipped a generation 😎).Sarah Grace has become an expert with all sorts of needlework and watercolours. She recently produced a large University of Alabama mascot for the daughter of one of her mother’s friends (on the mother’s request) So professional was it that the woman who ordered it paid her substantially more than the price they had agreed upon…which was barely enough to cover the materials.
But SG, as I call her, does enjoy so much what I consider to be her gift. Busy hands and lots of peace to go with…good luck finding that one piece you’ll look forward to bringing to life 💕
It’s so amazing when you see work that has so much talent. You are blessed to have someone that will keep the talent alive and well to pass on to future generations. It is a dying craft for the most part. My kids are not interested in needle and thread arts…but they fight over who’s going to get what haha!
I was president of my Future Homemakers of America in Junior High…hated sewing and was horrible at it. I shouldn’t admit this but every cuss word I ever knew (but never use) was in front of a sewing machine trying to put a zipper in. I am glad SG gets so much pleasure from her talents, sis. You are so right. I wish my mother could see…perhaps she does 🕊💕
He must have heard you, stevie😎💕 Or Someone did…
LOL, just wanted him to know how much he is appreciated…even though I don’t it post much…😊😁😉
Absolutely!!! Quite right, too! 👍🏻🤗
Howdy got busy last week but will try for my bench Monday on Merry Christmas day. Just so you know I always read your posts while cruising the other threads. 🙂
🤗 🤗 🤗
Good morning, Mr jay!! I see you’ve been busy baking for Santa’s visit. If you don’t mind I’ll pinch just one..or two…of those delicious looking cakes and wish you and your family a Merry Christmas, my friend, with thanks for keeping your fellow branch dwellers watered and fed over this past year. A few pounds heavier maybe…but so worth it 😁☕🌲😘
Dia Duit Betsy as always, no calories in my cooking so enjoy to your hearts content 🙂
While I’ve developed trust issues this year over many things, I absolutely, positively, without question take you at your word, my friend!!! Christmas comes but once a year🤗🌲👍🏻😎 Delicious! Coming back for more! 💕
-Write Myself A Letter

-Santa Baby (Ertha Kit)
🥸
Howdy, love those 🙂 🙂
😎
Merry Christmas Patience!
😍🎄🙂
‘Santa Baby’ was recorded in 1953.
She makes it a pretty steamy song without being explicit…
Thank you, GB❤️
✝️Merry Christmas to you, GB.
-yes, she was quite special.
😇
I love Brian! I love that CD. It is one of my favorites.
🇺🇸😎🇺🇸
Good morning, Leave💕 So good to see you’ve jumped the branches to the best one in our Tree! Blessings to you, dear sir☕👍🏻🤗
Howdy! My computer for some reason does not like the CTH reply button, it doesn’t work, neither does the password thread. I do not know why, on my old computer the reply key worked. I never know when someone has responded and most of the time I cannot remember which threads I have commented on. Sometimes I go back and scroll, but most times I don’t. So please don’t be offended if I don’t respond.
And yes, it is an enjoyable thread!
Only as Elvis can do it.
Ladies and Gentlemen Elvis has left the building !!
Merry Christmas Jay!
Merry Christmas GB and peace on earth..
😇
Howdy Garrison 🙂
Howdy, jay 🙂
Morning Garrison!

🎯
🤣
Yes indeedy…you know I’m right 😎😉👍🏻
The ghost of “Where’s my Christmas Breakfast!!!”
but its Caturday!
Here ya go, dear Aggiegirl!!!
The upside is that you won’t need to string lights! Win-Win🌲💕
(I will add though that the cat food bill might be a teensy bit higher 😉😎)
what a beauties….
Here is good heart, sejmon 💕
A repeat…but I love it 😍
😻🎁🌲
Amen his work.
Merry Christmas, Poyeema💕🙏🏻 My heart melted. All God’s creatures, great and small.

I won’t be home for Christmas, so instead I’ll listen to a little”Hometown”by Charlie Robison. Charlie was from Bandera Tx, but could have wrote this song about a thousand little towns, back when we were still us.
RJH, your screen name together with Bandera brought to mind a friend with the same initials who went to be with the Lord a few years ago. He retired from his business in Houston and bought a ranch in Bandera and was raising goats. He also did some relief work for me when I needed help or had to go out of town. Great guy! His preferred adult beverage was Weller.
From Cali originally, but spent time in deep south Tx, back then Shiner Bock was my favorite.
“…back when we were still us.”
Oh my, RJH…
Poignant.
Pausing now to sigh and remember when…💔
I pray you can get home soon, RJH 🏡
💕 🌲 😘
What a beautiful almost matched pair. Can I go for a ride, too?
Of course!!!! 😁💕 Wrap up well, girl!
Finally…… with proper lyrics no guessing game here. Bless her little heart.
Oh, tex…Yes, dear Lord. Please, please bless her sweet heart 🙏🏻💕
I know He heard every note and every word 🕊
(…there is a tissue here somewhere.)
Merry Christmas to you, fellow Lone Star Stater🌲😘
I love this song. It brings me to joyous tears every time I hear it. I’m so happy to hear the proper lyrics too. Thank you for sharing this precious little voice with big heart. Bless her heart indeed!
Gotta Love Don Rickles! 😉
This is our Treeper Church Sunday benediction. It is also a very special benediction because it is a celebration of Our Lord’s birthday.
When we think about His Day, it’s deep meaning across the centuries . . . For me, as a deep believer, I am reminded of two deep feelings that I discovered and accepted fairly recently. I think Our Lord gave us a Great Gift. It’s something that He expects us to discover and accept on our own.
On my wife’s death a year ago in September, I began a review of what our 55 years together actually meant. What kept us together for over 5 decades? It took me awhile—3 depressive episodes before I experienced the kind of epiphany I think Our Lord wanted me to experience . . .
What kept us together, what made our long relationship work through happiness and trouble, was trust and loyalty. In all that time, we always trusted each other. There was never any doubt about that. None at all . . . 55 years. . .
And then there was our shared loyalty. Regardless of what happened, we always remained loyal to each other. I’ve described that loyalty in terms in context with our working-class backgrounds.
Our loyalty was as simple as this: if I was stranded in a bar-ditch on a cold, wet February night and I called Maggie, I could always be certain that her first response would be to ask where I was. This would be followed by her telling me that she would fetch the tow strap, get the truck, and come pull me out of the bar-ditch.
And she always knew that I would always, always do the same for her.
It is that kind of loyalty, along with corresponding trust than is the foundation of lasting and loving relationships. This is what we had for our 55 years.
I hope all of my Treeper friends can enjoy a very blessed and very wonderful Christmas. May we all experience our Dear Lord’s Grace in this most special time. Merry Christmas, Treeper friends!!!
Thank you for sharing how much Love you have to give others and build relationships with Trust.couple a deep belief in God love and knowledge.
God Bless you Garrison and Merry Christmas to you.
Thank you for your kind words . . . 🙂
God morning to you, G.
You are a day early my dear friend, for it is Saturday. (You made me look as I feared I had lost a day on this “vacation”.)
I was a little panicked as I thought I missed a day in which I had promised kiddo for us to visit our wonderful hair dresser. She is a dear, sweet woman, who fled Iran around 12 years ago. She is my age… 50’ish. She was taken as a child bride at the age of 15 years by a cousin of hers. He became a pilot in the Iranian Air Force. He was thrown into prison there for speaking against the Iranian government and though he was released, he was never able to leave the country.
She legally fled the country journeying through Turkey and has one grown daughter here and a son who went back to Iran to care for his dying father. The son remained there and she often worries for him and his survival with the regime there.
Her husband died two or three years ago, but she mourned little for him. She mourned more for her children, as her memories with her husband were riddled with dishonesty, squandering of her hard earned money on a bad land deal, and the loss of her home she had purchased with her own earnings while he was incarcerated for their family. He squandered her assets terribly and women there have no rights… so she lost everything absorbed by his tyrannical family led by her own Aunt… no doubt considering her a traitor for not staying and continuing to use her labor to benefit the family.
She is the meek and kind, warm and loving. Deeply lonely.
When we go to our hair appointments, she keeps us there for 5 or 6 hours. It is a long process. She’ll wash our hair, trim, blow out… and she threads daughter’s eye brows in a very artistic artisan method. It looks painful to me… but only Sunnii is allowed to touch daughter’s eyebrows!!
All throughout this woman exudes warmth, greeting, and adoption. She has adopted us (her customers) as her loves and every person leaves there looking beautiful and most of all… feeling uplifted and genuinely and sincerely loved.
We always overpay, as I consider the hourly pay for her and her labors… despite her stretching the time. I know she keeps us there as it is better than being in her lonely shop in this lonely country.
She doesn’t date. Rarely goes out. Daughter is back from Florida, but daughter dislikes the cold. Daughter, too, who is in her early 30’s never married, never dates, works in software. Her mother worries she’ll not have a family of her own.
Sunnii is a beautiful, Christ-loving woman who has traded her country, culture, and family… for her Spiritual well-being, knowing the Truth of her real worth through her relationship with Christ Jesus.
How many of us can say we traded all to follow God?
She is one of the bravest women I know.
She talks about the great danger our country faces under our current regime. The people of Iran…. the citizens… hate Obama and Biden… and love Trump. They know that when Trump was in office… the world benefited from his safety in leading and the citizens of Iran were deeply angry with Obama giving their country the pallet of cash and loosening the funds to that country. The citizens know that none of it goes to help their people and that it was their government who stole those funds from their own people… so they do not want the money back… to be squandered and misused by their government.
So… you see my dear, Garrison… for me to miss our Saturday appointment with our dear friend and adopted sister would cause me great distress. We can only afford to go to her every few months, so she is a highlight of our season… and she’s a great reminder to my daughter the value we have born in America… to practice and live our faith.
I am always so blessed to hear your stories of Maggie. (Have I told Hou that I love her name?)
Yours is like listening to a great writer tell of his most important and beautiful love story. Like listening to a Nicholas Sparks novel. I could write a script and a movie could be made of your gorgeous life. I think of you often, strumming a guitar, and playing for your Maggie.
Take heart, my friend. She’s in Perfection now, fully whole in mind and body, blissful… in the best and purest form of herself.
When your time comes… when you have finished the work our Lord Has set for you to do… your race will be won… and your prize awaits!
I so can’t wait to meet you both in Heaven. What an incredible neighborhood we will have with our friends from the Tree. Our adopted sisters and brothers… for God places the widows and orphans in families.
You’re a good and gentle Patriarch, G. Trust in The Lord for His Timing.
With the way Christmas falls this year, I, too, had to stop and remember what day it was…he is not alone. And until we’re through the rest of the year I will continue to have to stop and think 😂
Oh it’s happened to me twice this week… that’s why I had to stop and check!!!!
I was not 100% certain!
God’s morning to you, also, dear ‘Woo. I apologize for causing confusion. I was planning to be on the road today so I thought it would be OK to put our benediction up a day early.
This morning friends convinced me I really shouldn’t be on the road in holiday traffic . So, our benediction will appear in it’s customary time and place.
On writin’ . . . ‘Woo, darlin, your comments about enjoying my writing are more than a little humbling, yet, coming from you, I can’t be more pleased to have them. I love to write and have spent much time learning how words work (still don’t know the parts-of-speech, btw).
Early on, when I was confronting becoming well educated while being dyslexic, I discovered the idea of narrative voice. Having this voice in my head when I write makes all the difference in the world. Even if I can’t diagram a sentence, I can have this voice in my head telling me how the story should sound—and that it can then read the way it sounds.
For your friends protecting you from holiday traffic, we are grateful.
You would never know from your writing that you are dyslexic. A testimony that one can master learning differences thanks to your narrative voice, we can enjoy your stories and sharing.
Love and peace to you, friend.
We will see you at the benediction manana!
Garrison, you may not realize just how precious you are to our small tight knit community here. Collectively we all wrap our arms around you…around one another… every day. But never harder than when Seasons like Christmas especially arrive. It is also a Season of Memories. You and your beloved Maggie shared the greater part of your lives travelling together, and I know the Bar is open with those mental cocktails flowing…in a sense making our Benediction most appropriate for you and many of us who have found our place of Refuge here amongst loving souls.
Christmas Blessings I pray for you, dearest friend. You have been one for us. And I am so grateful that our roads crossed (once again, this time when we’ve actually met😉💕). We all love you. I hope you know🌲🙏🏻😘
Thank you for your kind words, Bet. In all honesty, I have similar feeling about our community. I feel blessed to count you as a genuine friend. It doesn’t matter if we live apart and choose to communicate in this virtual space; the bonds of friendship feel as real in this here-and-now as they would if we lived next door to each other.
Faces? We do not see them…
Hearts? We know each and every one.
Whilst our books’ covers are unknowable, the pages inside tell all.
One day, God willing, we will meet, and that day will be glorious!! 🙏🏻🕊 😘
A NOTE FOR OUR TREEPER FRIENDS: I had made plans to be away from my computer and so wouldn’t be able to post our Sunday benediction at the expected time. So, rather than miss this important post, I decided to put it up a day early.
However. My more prudent friends have convinced me holiday travel for an almost-80-year-old isn’t a great idea.
So, tonight we will simply have a second benediction posting at it’s customary time.. I’m kinda relieved that I won’t be dealing with Christmas traffic.
Merry Christmas,Treeper Friends!!
Take care of yourself! 🌲
Have a relaxing Christmas!
Merry Christmas, dear Lorrie!! 😘🌲🕊
Definitely, Lorrie. Kickin’ back here at home rather than fighting holiday traffic . . . Hope you have a wonderful Christmas, too!
Fire going, good Bourbon, comfortable chair, Little ‘Tink in my lap. Much better than fighting traffic on I-35.
I just said to Chris, can you imagine the airports and the roads right about now?? Your friends are right. I am glad you listened. So glad!!!😘🌲
Sort of like yelling at me to stay off the roof . . . I tend to be a stubborn old goat sometimes . . . 🙂
OMG!! LOLOL!! 😂 I’ve got one of you. The sure fire way to ensure that the thing I am telling him not to do gets done is to ask him not to do it.
Ummmm… yes, please, friend. No roof lines and no breeding Chevy’s… or at least that’s how my old Austin friend would put it when he was driving his Ford and got a little too close! “Whoa, I almost bred a Chevy.”
22 year old Ranger here. Was Maggie’s favorite truck and I just can’t bring myself to trade it in . . . 🙂
Don’t. You’ll need that internal combustion engine someday. It’s be worth it’s weight in gold.
Merry Christmas Garrison! I, too, made the same decision…no traveling until after Christmas when the roads become more manageable. One trip to Walmart yesterday with all the crazies was the deciding factor. LOL!
That’ll do it!!!
We have a dense fog right now. A little disconcerting driving through Indy coming home from the hairdressers, so it was slow and side streets for us. Glad to be home and prayers for those traveling out and about.
Just making a 20 min errand out to Lowe’s convinced me of the wisdom of Staying Off The Streets During Christmas Season. I swear, every 3rd car was climbing my rear bumper or trying to run over me. . . Home never felt so good!
Glad you are safe and sound. There’s no place like home. Tinksters will agree! Give her a generous pat from the Indy girls.
Merry Christmas Garrison
Merry Chritmas, Monti!!!!
A sincere and wonderful message for the Treehouse on this day before Christmas Eve, Garrison.
A blessed and peaceful Christmas to you!
Merry Christmas GB
A very Merry Christmas to you too, Monti!
You, too, GB . . . 🙂
👍😁
This was my mom’s favorite Christmas album. Julie Andrews was one of her favorite artists. I always think of Julie when I hear the Wexford Carol.
Merry Christmas Nwtex!
Makes my eyes leak!
Here is one of my favorites:
Thank you, nwtex 😌
(Note to Self: Buy more tissues!!! 💕)
Loudest Silent Night & That’s terrible, in a fun way! 😉
LOL, Feisty!!! That kid will be somebody one day 😂😘🌲

12/23/2023 – Enoch and Noah
Hebrews 11:5-7 “By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.”
What do these two holy men of God have in common? First, they are of the same line of Seth, whom God gave to Eve instead of Abel; and therefore ordained of God *harbingers; that is, Signs and Messengers of the faith of God’s elect, which is, the coming of Christ in the flesh, the Savior of the world.
With respect to being God’s Signs for instruction, to both convict the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment, for Christ’s sake; to give light upon the earth, and to be the preserving element keeping the world from corrupting; the ministry of both these righteous men, while witnessing and persuading for people to repent and believe in God for salvation; at the same time were especially charged with some aspect of the judgment of the world.
Enoch was first given his vision from God, and the word of prophecy, at a time when the world’s first cultural and industrial boom were beginning, with the descendants of Cain: and spoke by revelation knowledge of both, the coming cataclysm for judgment and destruction of the world at that time; and of the great anti-type, and final cataclysm and catastrophe of the Day of the LORD, at the end of the ages.
Noah then, was the one who would come in to finish, as it were, what Enoch began. Enoch was given the first preaching of what was coming; and Noah built the ark to save all life on earth, at that day which Enoch said was coming.
John 4:36-38 “And he that reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit unto life eternal: that both he that sows and he that reaps may rejoice together. And herein is that saying true, One sows, and another reaps. I sent you to reap that whereon you bestowed no labor: other men labored, and you are entered into their labors.”
We can compare this to the apostles and saints at the time of Christ, and all those throughout the times of the Gentiles, and us now, at the end of the world. All the labors of the saints of Jesus from then until now, we are now come for the completion of the word that was given to them. We are of the holy line of God’s elect, of the household of salvation for the world: but are also the signs, and the messengers for administering its doom.
Isaiah 8:16-18 “Bind up the testimony, seal the law among My disciples: and I will wait upon the LORD, that hides His face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for Him. Behold, I and the children whom the LORD has given me are for signs and wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwells in mount Zion.”
Amos 3:6-7 “Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid (and run together)? Shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD has not done it? Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but He reveals His secret (consultation in close deliberation) unto His servants the prophets.”
God has ordained it from the beginning, that justification come by faith through the word being preached and taught by men to men. Abel believed the word he heard from his parents, Adam and Eve; and so instituted the law of sacrifice and offering of blood, for bringing to remembrance Christ’s coming in the flesh to give His life for the redemption of the man to God. Enoch believed that which he had been taught by his father; just as it had been handed down to every generation from Seth, and so continued down to Noah and his sons, even when there was no more faith to be found in the world but in their house.
At the time of Enoch’s son’s birth, he was evidently given a great and terrible vision of the coming of Christ in judgment, at the end of the world; and with that vision, the perfect understanding of the kind of times, when the wickedness of man will have broken all the bands, and cast away all the cords of restraint; just like it was heading in that direction in his own days. For this reason also did the LORD reveal to him the coming cataclysm and flood. God gave to Enoch revelation knowledge, and understanding of the vision, more than six hundred years before it would happen; thus Enoch walked with God, according to the eternal power and Spirit of that word he was given.
It says that after the birth of Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years; and he was not, for God took him. Noah walked with God, and was perfect in his generations; and so when he had completed building the ark, he moved his family and all the animals into the ark, and God shut the door, the same year that Methuselah died; according to the prophetic meaning of his name, With his death [comes] the deluge.
Enoch, before his translation, had this testimony that he pleased God: and Noah also, when the Judge of all the earth had borne out the time to the full, and His servant Noah had done all that He had commanded him, said, Come, you and all your house, into the ark; for you have I seen righteous in this generation.
Our ministry is the same as Noah’s was to his generation. We have come at the end of the world, for the completing of all things that have been spoken before and witnessed by all of God’s servants the prophets, and the faithful witnesses of Jesus which have sealed their testimony in blood, and baptized in fire. We are not better than our fathers, and we are not better than our Master: all that was spoken and witnessed from the beginning, and how they bore witness and prophesied; we must complete in the same Spirit of faith as was theirs. What each of our own particular purpose and work may turn out to be, is with the Lord: our duty is to live for His pleasure, and care for nothing else.
Israel Update:
-An IDF soldier 19 years old was killed from one of the missiles that Hezbollah fired another soldier badly wounded. Israel responded with attacks on Hezbollah.
Note: In the beginning The Defense Minister and Chief of Staff wanted to do a preemptive war on Hezbollah. Bibi objected. Then the US made it into a goal, to prevent the spread of the war. On one hand Bibi had a reason to back off on this. Because there was doubt if Israel can stand a full regional war. There could be thousands of missiles a day all over Israel. Hezbollah has some 200,000 missiles and many are precise and large that can fall on vital strategic targets. So the strategy became to deal with Hamas first and then prepare and then deal with Hezbollah. But the current situation of a low intensity attrition war is explosive. It looks like we are waiting for a disaster to justify dealing with Hezbollah. So attacking now or later is not a clear cut black and white decision.
-As I said before The IDF is almost done with controlling the whole of North Gaza and is now attacking stronger in the South. Rafiach that is a city south of Khan Yunis, most south in Gaza, was pounded and had some targeted assassinations. IDF is preparing to get there. Once Israel has Khan Yunis and Rafiach, we pretty much have the South under control.
It’s a very populated area so it will be challenging. There is still one or two main areas in the north to conquer. It will take days to a week. But remember that conquering is not the end because you get terrorists in tunnels. In the North and central Gaza the IDF did a lot of work on destroying tunnels and there is less population and supplies so it’s harder for terrorists to keep going there. I do get that since Kahan Yunis (south) is a key area and also possibly has hostages and Hamas Leaders, the IDF is sending there some very elite units.
While the area is full of traps and high buildings, the elite units are very effective anyways, and they have more advanced options with mini drones and robots etc…
It is a “bottle neck” where we can send a lot of forces. Kahn Yunis will not be able to withstand the amount of power directed to it. This is my prediction.
The Arabs have a habit of falsely painting a much better picture than what the situation is, I see their media and social media. They are thinking that they are wining the war. They ignore facts and images on the ground. Even in the Six Day war when they were crushed Egyptian media gave the idea that they are winning for quite a while. But sooner than later Sinwar (Hamas Leader) will realize that the footage of some sporadic success against the IDF doesn’t mean that Hamas is winning. He will then try a deal or heavens forbid could start executing hostages. I estimate 2-4 weeks before we see the real drama, IE. We will be everywhere in the South and Sinwar and Israel will need to make some decisions.
-The Chairman of the UN finally Twitted that “There is no excuse to the 10/7 attack and hostages must be released.”
I believe he watched the horror film and was also confronted by families of the hostages.
It’s easy to sit in NY and have opinions. But dealing with real humans, families of hostages, it is a different situation.
-The White House is indicating a very close relations between the Hoothies and Iran. Iran is on the ground with a spy ship giving them information as to ships to be attacked, etc…
Note: I see pressure on Iran to diffuse this situation. By the way I just read that the Hoothies
are not to be under-estimated. It’s an army of over 300,000 soldiers. You don’t want to invade there but they can get really messed up from the air if needed.
-NY Times : The Biden’s Administration is conducting secret talks with Israel and Lebanon and contacts to Hezbollah in an attempt to prevent a major war in the area. The Israelis are asking for at least 3.2 Miles safe zone away from the border. The US is also trying to reduce the daily friction at that area. Apparently the Lebanese agree with the US that Hezbollah will move away from the border with a long term agreement. The US is using the Lebanese Foreign Minister as a mediator. The US want the Lebanese army to be able to take the border area and Hezbollah move norther. Israel is trying to prevent a 10/7 style attack in the North in the future. The US is hoping that the internal Lebanese opinion will have an effect on Hezbollah. Poles are used to persuade. 80% of Lebanese people don’t want a war.
The US understands that there won’t be quiet in the Lebanese border until the end of the war in Gaza. It is unknown if Hezbollah will respond to any of this. Note: “The end of the war” is an abstract. We can be chasing them for years, so the definition of “end of the war” is not clear to anyone. Israel will not keep its citizens of the North as refugees out of home for more than a month or a few. That border will have to be safe by politics or war. It’s the supreme duty of a government to provide safety to its citizens and not being able to be back home is not acceptable.
-Yesterday or the day before I posted videos that show the IDF exploding a huge area of houses in Shajeyiah (North Gaza). I also showed a video of a large flattened area.
To some degree it seemed like a kind of revenge because it was a “cursed city” for Golani Brigade (IDF). Today there was an article that actually explained that the demolition was the first raws of houses by the Israeli Kibutzes which were attacked from there and the goal of the demolition is to create a safe zone by the border. Israel mentioned before a zone to be able to provide safety to the Israeli civilians by the border. Israel will probably have a zone with boobytraps that will be very hard to cross.
Happy Hollidays!
Hi David. Thank you. Very intelligent report.
It somehow struck me what you wrote, “They are thinking that they are winning the war. They ignore facts and images on the ground.” So very true, for sure. But what struck me, was that when all eyes were on Ukraine and Russia, the whole western propaganda machine was saying the same thing about Ukraine winning, etc. Now however, the US “seems to be” at least for now, on the other foot!
On that note; I just hope, for Israel and Europe and America’s sake, that all the troops and equipment we are deploying now in three major confrontation points around the world; (eastern Europe/Ukraine, Israel/the Middle East, and the Philippines/ South China Sea;) by some mercy of God, does not become what its shaping up to be. My hunch however is, that the plan is, for it all to blow up before the coming Election.
Thank you Michael. You made me think. I have not been following the Ukraine war. For me it’s two evils. Russia has been the main supplier of weapons to all of Israel’s enemies for a very long time. So I don’t like them. Ukraine killed more Jews than any other nation aside for Germany. Around 1919 the Pogroms took the lives of about 250,000 Jews mainly by Ukrainians and they were brutal too. In present time Ukrainians are not hostile to Israel. I have a family member, Israeli, who owns a large business there and he likes them.
Globalists are using Ukraine to weaken Putin who is anti Globalists. So there is no good side involved.
Biden seems to be losing votes because of the war in Israel. It would be divine if Trump gets back to office because of this war.
I don’t know how a world war would help Biden in the elections. A pandemic is more worrisome. You know the mail vote fraud.
Grandmom’s family fled the pogroms; and she was the first child born in the United States. Grandpop’s family came from Germany by way of England, I think about the same time period.
I have not heard of the word “pogroms,” so your comment was especially interesting to me. Color revolution, is the word I have heard to describe such an act sponsored by a government against its peopole. Pograms was first used in Russia in the 19th century to describe a government sponsored activity to incite a riot against a race or religion.
English, such a diverse and descriptive language.
Jeff Gottfredson:
I put pogram into Duck Duck search and this is first to come up
👇
pogrom /pə-grŏm′, pō′grəm/
noun
An organized, often officially encouraged massacre or persecution of a minority group, especially one conducted against Jews.
In Russia, an organized massacre, particularly a massacre of Jews that is countenanced more or less openly by the officials.
A riot aimed at persecution or massacre of a particular ethnic or religious group, usually Jews.
I also use DDG, and your definition etymology is spot on. . The word pogram is now burned into memory.
What a mess Hamas has made for Israel and Jews world wide.
Good afternoon David! Thank you for the regular updates! I am with you on the war in Ukraine. The fact that two evils are fighting each other doesn’t make one better than the other.
Also, besides supplying them with weapons, Russia was training Arab terrorists all over Eastern Europe in the late sixties, the seventies, and well into the eighties.
Shalom!
Yes. There is also a claim that they whole of “Palestine” idea as a tool against Israel was KGB.
VVP is certainly against GLOBALISTS/WARMONGERS… and he going win SMO….
Vladimir Vladimirovich was a KGB mid-level apparatchik. Once a KGB, always a KGB.
Thanks for this David.
I wonder if a 3.2 mile clear zone from the Lebanese border is enough because Hezbollah has long range rockets.
I think it should be more WITH THE VERY CLEAR ADMONITION to Lebanon and Hezbollah that any more rockets/missiles fired from Lebanon will result in a devastating bombardment of Beirut
THe UNIFIL troops are absolutely useless and I suspect, complicit with Hezbollah. Probably bribed with Hezbollah/Iranian money to do nothing. Threatened as well.
There might be a lot of Houthis, but they are primitives, some still fighting in long skirts!

No, Israel must wipe them out.
The safe zone in the Lebanon area is to prevent a 10/7 type event. If there is a safe zone then it’s impossible to surprise Israel with a ground invasion. Rockets and missiles is another problem not related to borders. The decision to fight Hezbollah is dependent on their decision to give a safe zone. I doubt they will. Bibi may use a tragic event as an excuse to attack. He is probably trying to get US support for such a move.
David…explain to us why soo many officers in the elite -GOLANI BRIGADE- been killed and de facto has been forced to disband…..
I watched the video on YouTube that claims what you said. They started it with “The Elite Golani Brigade is withdrawing”. Or such words.
I knew it must be an Arab propaganda so I searched in Hebrew and believe me if it was true it would have shown in Hebrew but it wasn’t. You can’t hide much in a small nation like Israel. I get to know almost everything before it’s on the news.
I searched in English and saw this came from Arab media. I think it was mainly Al Arabia. It is fake news and I will explain.
First of all what is Golani. It is not an “Elite Brigade” as was claimed. It’s a huge Brigade which took part in all of Israel’s wars typically front lines. It is made of 6 Battalions: 12, 13, 51 , Reconnaissance, Engineers and two others. Each Battalion is made of 6 units.
Two Battalions took strong hits. Battalion 13 on 10/7 was surprised in beds in a base by Gaza, many were home for the holiday. Then some fought to protect the nearby towns. They lost 41 soldiers and had 91 injured. This was for sure a disaster for this battalion. On 12 Dec this Battalion took another hit when in Shajayia Gaza a few soldiers went into an ambush and lost contact. The Battalion Commander Tomer Greenberg came personally with a few other officers and there was another high ranking officer from another Brigade. It was a strong ambush and Tomer fell with another high ranking from another Brigade and a couple of lower officers and overall 6 or 7 Golani warriors.
He was replaced and they continued in Gaza. In 10/7 Battalion 51 fought too and lost 29 people. They saved many but were significantly outnumbered and surprised. Since the Invasion to Gaza aside for the sad ambush in Shajaiya the death toll of Golani is not different than others. They lost the 7-8 in that bad day and otherwise it is not significant. The IDF overall lost some 137 since the invasion began excluding the 10/7 day.
The lies:
1. Golani is not “an Elite Brigade”. They are well respected but are a usual Infantry aside for the Reconnaissance part that did not take any special losses.
2. Golani did not withdraw nor dismantle not even the Battalion 13 that took losses. After two months of straight fightings they took a refresher like all other IDF Brigades. The Paratrooper Brigade also took a refresher. So what. They come back to Gaza shortly.
I actually watched a special meal that was organized for Battalion 13 and they were singing and had a high moral despite of all. Some soldiers become more determined under rough circumstances.
3. “Many high Officers died”. In the IDF unlike other armies the Officers lead at the head of the forces. That is why in every war the death toll list have many officers. But Golani aside for the one incident in Shajayia did not lose any unusual number of officers in the post 10/7 fightings. I see them all the times on videos from the field and they are fully operational and killing many Hamas terrorists.
Take care, it’s good that you checked with me. I looked into it before you asked so it was easy to answer.
There is another “propaganda” video out there saying the US forces helped IDF to free ALL of the hostages. I watched it but no hostages were seen in the video at all. Then at the end the report it said 36 hostages were released but none them seen in video at that point either. The video showed Biden all cleaned up and speaking with Netanyahu. So it was Biden campaign propaganda. They really emphasized ALL HOSTAGES RELEASED though. This is/was a real Microsoft Start news item. I wish I had copied it to paste here.
Merry Christmas to you David.
Merry Christmas.
Footage from Gaza. The Nahal Brigade was attacked from a building. In the beginning you hear the soldier saying:”Were is the shooting from?’ Then you see the higher officer telling the soldiers that they will need to throw in a large number of hand grenades. Then you see a soldier throwing a hand grenade. Then you hear someone saying that there is a terrorist on the third floor. Then you see the tank is blowing up the third floor area of the building. As far as I know the Nahal Brigde is in North Gaza.

Gaza citizenswas recorded talking to an IDF officer: “Slaughter Hamas, it took us back 100 years” The IDF spokesman released a recording in Arabic that illustrates the anger at Hamas in Gaza. In a conversation with an intelligence officer, I called out to attack the Hamas leadership living abroad: “May God burn them, dogs who are dogs. When will you save us from them? What are the children guilty of?”
https://nitter.net/leeonskee/status/1738293224823738625#m
LOL. This would be a good psychological war. I doubt that Gazans have turned on Hamas yet in a majority. Brainwash is a powerful tool. Brainwash is string in Gaza.
YES..YOU CAN SEE IT HERE IN THE USA …SINCE 1913……
What happened in 1913?
David: I think Sejmon is referring to the Fed, (which is NOT run by our government but is actually privately owned.)👇
“The Fed was established by the Federal Reserve Act, which was signed by President Woodrow Wilson on Dec. 23, 1913, in response to the financial panic of 1907.
Before that, the U.S. was the only major financial power without a central bank.
Its creation was precipitated by repeated financial panics that afflicted the U.S. economy over the previous century, leading to severe economic disruptions due to bank failures and business bankruptcies.
A crisis in 1907 led to calls for an institution that would prevent panics and disruptions.”
More from one source which I quoted above, (but Sejmon may have more, especially from the point of view that it’s privately owned):

I will forever be grateful to this man for writing this song. He wrote it during OIF, there are no words to explain what it means to me. Prayers for all those that are deployed and for those wherever they may be where they are alone for Christmas.
I know the days are long now, Leave, for your family. Your son, his wife, their new baby, and all who love them have not been far from my thoughts as we approach Christmas Day. You have expressed elsewhere how you feel. If there is any comfort in knowing it, be assured you are not alone in your righteous anger at a government which throws our young men around like confetti into wars of their own making.
My son is a Navy vet, and I have two draft eligible grandsons. So I understand where you are this Christmas. Please take joy in the arrival of your new grandchild, a gift from God. These times will pass, and his father will be back home once again. I will keep all of you in prayer… and all whose families are disrupted by deployment this year, my friend. Blessings for them all and for these who await their return 🙏🏻🌲🕊💕
(I should ask…granddaughter or grandson?)
Leave,
I’m afraid I’m unaware of your hearts concerns that Betsy alluded to. Reading her post, I can guess your son is in the military.
My daughter, 18 yo in March, is thinking of going in.
She feels there’s no other place to go, as higher education has been rendered worthless due to wokeism, expensive and out of reach for our family, and the military is a way to pay for college and give her the benefit of regimented protocol that she thrives in. She wants to pilot and mechanical engineer.
She knows, being just the two of us, that she has no ties anywhere and thus can take any assignment free of emotional and familial encumbrances.
She knows, too, that one can put in a career and have a pension and start another once retired… as long as she makes it home whole and uninjured.
My Father, career military police officer. My ex-husband retired military intelligence (not her father). She sees honor in their work and she wants to serve her country honorably. She knows too they will harden her and she accepts the muscle and mind building of adversity.
I’ve plead that she waits for November election before committing to anything. I’m afraid I would clunk her over the head and bind her so as not to hand her over to Biden and his crooked regime. They’ve already stolen so much from us.. our home, our health, our security.
These children of ours have NOBLE and BRAVE character traits and we must pray for our leadership to not squander their sacrifice and commitment.
For what greater gift is there than to lay one’s life down for their fellow man (and their freedom)?
Praying for your son and your family. From someone who knows the precious skin in the game and who weeps with each soul lost due to someone else’s decision.
Leave’s son who was celebrating Christmas with his new little one shipped out a few days ago, Woo 🙏🏻
Lord have mercy on his heart. Return him safely home… soon. Godspeed.
Amen!
Not my son, but yes, he is military. Followed in his dad footsteps and generations of my family serving, and he was excited to be serving under Trump. Yet another reason I am not happy 2020 was stolen. I cannot wait for him to get out, he has a while to go yet.
I would do your best to convince your daughter to not join at the present time. Maybe go to a trade school or community college to get the basics done if she wants college? If she insists on joining I would suggest the Coast Guard.
She is smart about going in young and then going on to a second career. Things are changing quickly and I hope she can wait it out for a bit though. I will definitely pray that the answers will come.
Merry Christmas Woo!
Evening Miss Betsy, I need to say the boy isn’t my son, but is a blood relative. I tend to not trust the internet so I try to speak broadly. I kept him when his father did several tours during OIF/OEF, it is hard to listen to a 10 year cry for his daddy and not understand why he is gone. The boy’s new baby is a boy, is just learning to crawl and form words. His wife has gone home to be w/her side of the family for the holiday. I got a request today for a few care package items. I cannot believe that 20 years ago I sent care packages to other Soldiers at the same base, and the request is for the same basic items from 20 years ago. Truly boggles my mind. And I cannot believe how much the stuff cost me.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for caring. I sincerely appreciate it. Most Americans do not know there is a war going on and we have people in danger. I do love that baby like he is a grandson, and I love the boy like he is my son. I am proud of him, he is a fine young man fully capable of being the leader of his team, but that doesn’t stop my worry for his safety, and it just burns me that my family is living this all over again.
Wishing you and yours a Happy and Merry Christmas!

Thomas Malthus
(1766-1834)
Influential in the fields of political economy and demography and for his theories on population.
His ideas about the role of famine, disease, and competition between individuals in limiting population growth were radically opposed to the ideals of the time.
Malthus’ theory was an important influence on both Charles Darwin and Alfred Russel Wallace in their development of the theory of natural selection.

Anthony Fokker
(1890-1939)
Anthony Fokker was a Dutch aviation pioneer and aircraft manufacturer who played a significant role in the development of military and civil aviation during the early 20th century. He founded Fokker Aeroplanbau, later known as Fokker Aircraft Company, which became one of the world’s leading aircraft manufacturers during the first half of the 20th century.
Fokker’s early innovations in aircraft design and technology, such as the synchronization gear that allowed machine guns to fire through the arc of an airplane’s propeller, revolutionized aerial combat during World War I. His Fokker Eindecker monoplane became the first true fighter aircraft and gave Germany a considerable advantage in air superiority.
After the war, Anthony Fokker shifted his focus to civilian aviation, contributing to the growth of commercial air travel through the development of passenger aircraft like the Fokker F.VII trimotor. His company’s aircraft played a crucial role in the expansion of the airline industry during the 1920s and 1930s.

I’m up in years now, trying to recall when all this Happy Holidays greetings pushed Merry Christmas to the side.
Merry Christmas to you trapper!
May God bless you with His peace and His presence in a special way in days ahead.
🌟🌟
“pack a lunch”…. giggle, snort, giggle, snort….
That was a good one.
Oh my sister, Della, you never cease to delight.
The southern stares of this Tree’s maidens never cease to make me belly laugh.
You are no curmudgeon!
Smile broadly and unapologetically as you honor the holiday of our Lord’s Birth!
This year has been notable in one way. I have heard more Merry Christmas’ than in many years. So wonderful to hear.
When people wish me a Happy Holidays I always thank them and ask what holiday they are happy about. When they say Christmas I then wish them a Merry Christmas too.
Artists are everywhere volunteering and entertaining and uplifting the spirit of the nation. Famous names and I see them in the bases and in the hospitals and everywhere they can help. The following are well known singers. They dressed in uniforms because we are all in service at the moment.
Todah Rabah, David. Your description and the singing brought me to tears.
Much love, blessings, and success to all Israelis!
Shabbat Shalom.
….and very merry Christmas….
Thank you! Shabbat Shalom.
Israel has acquitted itself well. I’m proud of all y’all.
HOW CAN I PERSONALLY PARTAKE IN THE ATONEMENT?
“But God forbid that I should glory save in the cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ.” Gal. vi. 14
The Gospel of Jesus Christ always forces an issue of will. Do I accept God’s verdict on sin in the Cross of Christ? Have I the slightest interest in the death of Jesus? Do I want to be identified with His death, to be killed right out to all interest in sin, in worldliness, in self – to be so identified with Jesus that I am spoilt for everything else but Him? The great privilege of discipleship is that I can sign on under His Cross, and that means death to sin. Get alone with Jesus and either tell Him that you do not want sin to die out in you; or else tell Him that at all cost you want to be identified with His death. Immediately you transact in confident faith in what Our Lord did on the Cross, a supernatural identification with His death takes place, and you will know with a knowledge that passeth knowledge that your “old man” is crucified with Christ. The proof that your old man is crucified with Christ is the amazing ease with which the life of God in you enables you to obey the voice of Jesus Christ.
Every now and again, Our Lord lets us see what we would be like if it were not for Himself; it is a justification of what He said – “Without Me ye can do nothing.” That is why the bedrock of Christianity is personal, passionate devotion to the Lord Jesus. We mistake the ecstasy of our first introduction into the Kingdom for the purpose of God in getting us there; His purpose in getting us there is that we may realize all that identification with Jesus Christ means.

EVENING
God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. I John 5:11

No servant can serve two masters. – Luke 16:13
In the last days before Christmas, you might be looking at your list of things to do, presents yet to buy and meals that need to be prepared, and wonder how it will all get done. For some, the busyness of the season undermines the joy and peace of the Christmas message. Overspending on gifts can increase your burden.
Step back and take a breath. The best gift ever is God’s gift to humankind in the form of salvation through His Son. The Lord Jesus Christ stepped down from heaven and confined Himself in an infant child. He grew into a man who touched the world with words of wisdom, with compassionate help for physically and spiritually ailing people, and as the final sacrifice that would be the healing balm to all who believe.
He gave His all. He asks you to be completely devoted to Him, single-minded in your endeavors to live the life He has set before you. Ask the Lord to guide you in the use of the material resources He has given you. Look to Him for direction in how to use your time and apply the gifts and abilities He has given you to win the lost to Christ and encourage fellow saints.
Pray for the people and public servants of this nation to come to focus on the peace, love, and joy that knowing Jesus can bring. Then, examine how you use the gifts God has given you. Is He the Master of your life, or has something else taken precedence? Renew your commitment to the Lord and to proclaiming His precious gift to the world.

We had a lone and isolated little feathered friend this morning.
Well… he’s not “little”.. he’s a tall guy and has puffed out his feathers in this rain.
He’s about 40 feet from my back door, so my pitiful camera zoom does him no justice.

Oops sorry… posted on the wrong day. I was trying to grab a link from yesterday’s postings.
Let me try again….
Still enjoying immensely the time shared with my teen last night watching the 53 year old “Santa Claus is Coming To Town” and how good it was!!
Gotta watch the old-fashioned Frosty the Snowman, too, AND CHECK OUT THE COMMERCIALS back when the advertisers weren’t trying to destroy our kids!!
Sigh…. good times.
Wow! Good stuff JWoo! I remember watching Frosty the Snowman with our very young children a few years after that was first released. I doubt anyone younger than me is very familiar with either Jimmy Durante (once a Vaudeville star) or Jackie Vernon (a stand-up comedian), the two main character voices. They were stars from an earlier era…
A blessed and peaceful Merry Christmas to you and the young ‘un, JWoo.
I remembered them from my youth and I so enjoyed revisiting these. Very much! Even the commercials.
Merry Christmas and Blessed New Year, Baritone.

Verse of the Day for Saturday, December 23, 2023
✟
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
Romans 8:28 (KJV)
Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered !!!
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

WHAT A BLESSING, MOM !!! THANKS !!! ❤️
Wide eyed wonder from one of our precious gifts from God 🤗🕊
All her birthdays have come at once…
LOL
PLEASE PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER
BUT GOD KNOWS
We do not know what tomorrow will bring
In reality we are not sure of anything
We close our eyes give way to sleep
There is no guarantee not even a peep
We say good-night to those we love
Entrust our rest to God above
Who knows the beginning from the end
Our entire life it is He who penned
Our days are full of challenges we know not
The what when why and how the outcome naught
As we awaken to a brand new day
It is God who is there to guide our way
It is He who brings light into our lives
It is we who strive and trustingly thrives
It is He who shows us the path the way
Who unconditionally loves us everyday
It is He who gave us our free will choice
It is He who gave us His grace to voice
Our decisions be they right or wrong
Will determine our stance weak or strong
Will we give in to temptation and quit
Will we be weak and meek not give a whit
Will we be strong and fight the good fight
Or will we be tempted to just take flight
We have no insight into what might come
We have no idea what direction from
If our lives are justified through others
If our needs are fulfilled by another’s
If we live each day in the last place
Will we ever be first in any case
Will we finally learn to love ourselves
Or leave our desires on the shelves
In every phase of life on earth
What we do will prove our worth
How we adjust to the highs and lows
Will determine which way our life goes
When stuck in a rut of sorrow and woe
We really have no direction to go
We haven’t asked God what He wants us to do
We are simply comfortable in feeling blue
We grieve our situation and that’s ok
He would not want it any other way
We seem to think we will figure it out
All on our own mind you we have no doubt
But God knows and He will wait for you
He’ll show you daily what He wants you to do
Signs and wonders before you displayed
All in the balance come forth to be weighed
Love one another is what you must do
Love one another as He has loved you
Listen to the clues He provides you each day
Being true to yourself is the only way
Now is the time to spread your wings
To set your sights on universal things
You might have no idea what that means
But God Knows what He put in your genes

there was a bit of discussion about manual transmission cars on the PW post yesterday.
i take great care of my car, but am not a trained motorhead, so i have a question:
if a kill switch were deployed on a manual, couldn’t you still pop the clutch to get a start?
and if so, is that why manuals have virtually disappeared from new car models?
course, i guess you’d still need to find a couple of people willing to give you a push….😂
Back in my day when we would do that, the switch had to be turned on when you popped the clutch (after getting some speed going) so if the kill switch cuts all the power to the car, then I would say no it would not restart it.
I’m sticking with my older models myself!
With you on that. I drive a soon to be 12 year old Jeep GC with 105,000 miles on it and plan to keep it forever.
thank you, exactly my question!
would the manual turnover of the engine override the ignition?
i also recall having the key “on” when doing that maneuver,
but in those days no electronic starters of course!
yep, everybody who escaped “cash for clunkers” has been proven pretty darn smart!
I believe that would work, yes. But manual transmissions have largely disappeared in the US due to lack of knowledge on how to drive one plus lack of demand as the days of balky 4-speed automatics have been replaced by much better 8- and even 9-speed automatic transmissions. I grew up driving exclusively manuals and did so for about the first 20 years of driving. But then I purchased the first of several Jeep GCs and have been a Jeep driver since. I do sometimes miss the fun of driving a manual 5 speed sports car. My understanding is that in Europe about 3/4 of the cars there are still manual transmission models.
So true about lack of knowledge for manual transmissions. My daughter’s boyfriend was interested in buying a 6-speed manual Mustang. She asked me to go along on the test drive and help him learn. I hadn’t driven a manual in over 40 years but it only took a few minutes to be comfortable. It was a blast driving it too. I took him took a mall with a closed movie theater and a big empty parking lot. In over an hour, he only got it going maybe twice. Luckily he decided against buying it!
This is also why manual transmission cars are known as millenial anti-theft devices. They have no clue how to operate one.
🤣🤣
Well it only works if the battery / ignition circuit is turned on so that the coil can produce a spark which is sent to each spark plug via the distributor. In modern engines, the coil/distributor is replaced with an electronic high voltage module that also generates & distributes high voltage pulses for each spark plug / cylinder. But they all have to be connected to the battery / alternator circuit to work. So if there is a kill switch that cuts off the battery/ignition circuit, the engine won’t fire up.
bummer, but thank you, GB Bari,
your explanation is great, and i appreciate it.
(and i will backtrack it in my manual so that i’m sure i understand it! 😁)
I believe most later model manual transmission vehicles have a safety switch on either the clutch pedal or transmission. This is a safety to keep the vehicle from moving when you turn the ignition on. Just like an automatic tranny must be in neutral or park and the brake depressed to start and before selecting drive or reverse after starting.
IOW the vehicle must be in neutral on gear shift selector or/and clutch pedal depressed before the starter will operate to crank the vehicle.
If desired these safety switches or safety interlocks can be re-wired so as to enable a “roll start”.
Back in the day we used to park farm tractors and farm trucks with weak batteries or weak starter motors on an incline and roll start them all the time. It was a temporary measure until proper maintenance could be accompliced.
Pro tip: Select a higher gear when attempting a roll start
thank you, Monticello!
i have the anti-roll feature on my current car, it’s nifty!
but it only functions for reverse (even with clutch depressed)
and only engages for a few seconds, then you will roll.
sounds like the electronic ignition would prevent a rolling start,
and likely the basis for any kill switch.🙁
(and i do recall second as the gear of choice for accomplishing that!😂)
I had the experience of driving a diesel New Beetle when the ENTIRE electrical system failed. Every dash light in the car light up and went black.
But it was a diesel. So it did. Dieseled. Fortunately, it was a stick shift, so even though all I had was an extremely rough idle, I drove it several blocks, with VERY stiff brakes and steering, around corners with hand signals, and to a gas station, where I killed the engine with the clutch. One of the most memorable car experiences I’ve ever had.
I love diesels.
Justin Hayward – “Living For Love” (Official Lyric Video)
LOVE IN ACTION
Unexpected kindness touches the heart
A listening ear can yield a fresh start
When in a quandary of the feeling kind
Tis hard to explain what we left behind
Feelings are not facts justified away
Kept hidden from view for another day
Sooner or later they come into the light
Where the future is happier and bright
Where circumstances have mightily changed
And our flawed thinking has been rearranged
Angels surround us of the human kind
That reveal the truth to the human mind
When we speak from the heart no sound returned
We will find what God planned to be learned
We cannot know the perfect mind of God
We can only concur it is to be awed
His ways are not our ways nor ever will be
And His thoughts not what we can foresee
Where there seems to be no possible way
His love in action brings a brighter day
The sadness and loneliness is lifted
With a new sense of purpose we are gifted
Happiness returns and we’re flying high
To hopeless heartache the end draws nigh
God knows the beginning and the end
He knows recesses of the heart bend
When healing occurs and we are set free
The promise of tomorrow comes to be
