To say the paraphrasing is otherwise is, well, disingenuous.

Is he so full of himself (answer: yes) that he could not grant the slightest show of support or sympathy to the former President? All the adjectives describing him used in the posts here fit Ron to a T.
I confess to being pretty much all in with him running for president up to that point, and appreciated that he served his country in the US Navy. Glad Ron didn’t stay in the service long enough to actually captain a ship, though, and I know he was in JAG, so that not going to happen. He probably skipped the class where naval history was taught, with famous phrases learned to inspire our sailors, such as John Paul Jones’, “I have not yet begun to fight” and Oliver Hazard Perry flying the famous battle flag that reads, “Don’t Give Up the Ship.” So it’s “Turn Tail and RON!” for President;-)

He reminds me of a short clip in a documentary I saw about a month ago on the JFK & Nixon debate. DeSantis reminds me of what Nixon looked like on TV, all washed out and up.

Understand me something. Just having another Trump-related epiphany here.
This issue is about a primary ballot for a political party, is it not? So why on God’s good earth is state money being used to provide services to private political corporations? Why are they involved at all?
We have two dominant political parties whose orthodoxy is corrupt beyond measure getting significant elements of their commercial operations subsidized by state governments. It’s the respective political party corporation’s primary. What other corporation has its elective office or candidate selection process subsidized involuntarily by the taxpayers of the state?
Why is the state involved at all? Why are taxpayer monies and public resources being used to fund and conduct what is essentially a private selection process on behalf and to the benefit of the private corporations we call political parties?
Let these private corporations pay for their own damn primaries. It’s hard to see an appropriate state interest or role in funding and operating a “not actually the official election election” to primary the candidates of these private corporations receiving these unearned (and likely untaxed) government benefits at taxpayer expense.
The monopolies that have formed around our elections and electoral politics need to smashed. Seems therapeutically overdue to me.
