I was astounded that both Sen. Cruz, who I really liked, and Tucker Carlson, wrote in their books that they were clamoring to go to Mandela’s funeral. I was floored. Why would anyone want to celebrate the honoring of a man and his wife, who performed “necklacing” (filling tires with acceleration and placing the tires over the slender bodies of young black boys and igniting them) on the dissident population of a country they claimed to be “liberating” was beyond me. Hearing Rush Limbaugh describe these acts was chilling. They both (Tucker and Cruz) went down in my estimation about 1000%. There is no earthly explanation.
To be fair, Mandela was locked up when his wife terrorized blacks with those horrible murders. But he never condemned necklacing either.
Note that’s from four years ago. He’s definitely red pilled since then.
Tucker appears to have been raised somewhat like VDH … with one foot in the elitist’s playground, and one foot in REAL America. I had a similar upbringing, however, unlike Tucker and VDH, with full immersion on the poor side of REAL America.
Let me try to interpret why Tucker is not a fan of “populism”. I would suggest because “populism” is less a well thought-out strategic movement as it is a reaction to being stripped of everything by the elitist Oligarchs running the country. And where does populism end up? Bloody Revolution. When the Oligarch elites continue to ignore … and actually double-down on crushing the common man … we will rise up and violently overthrow our selfish, incompetent, overlords.
Better that those at the top of the pyramid share the OPPORTUNITY to achieve a workable existence … where one does not need 5 side hustles just to feed and house oneself. If not … the populist wave will come for them in a way that makes the French Revolution look like an afternoon picnic in a park.
And unfortunately the elites seldom see the need to work with the proles,.
How many public statements have we seen recently, like energy secretary laughing gleefully at $7.00/gal gasoline, that are modern versions of “Let them eat cake!”?
When in the coarse of human events,…if they refuse to play by the rules, at a certain point it becomes neccessary to play the game thats in front of you, NOT the game you would LIKE to play.
“Populism” is Governing “for the common man vs the elites” or at least campaigning with that promise.
Populism also is generally associated with “protectionism” i.e. Tariffs.
“Conservative” as a term has been destroyed, IMHO by the likes of Romney, Ryan, Graham, McStain, Cruz, Rubio, McConnell, McCarthy, etc.

The people running for office usually are not concerned with whether or not they can do what they claim they can do: they are only concerned with gaining the office. And until the “voters” figure that out, the politicians will continue saying whatever they need to say to get into office.
There is some something to be said for not believing anything that is said about anything or anyone for the simple reason that…whether or not it is true is not determine by what I think. We really need to get over ourselves. It is far more peaceful to live a life that is not dependent on other people being truthful.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that talks on a peace plan will be held in Switzerland in January 2024 – the day before the start of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
The meeting on 14 January will be attended by the security advisors of several countries, the Swiss foreign ministry told the Keystone-SDA news agency on Monday.
The topic is the so-called Ukrainian peace formula to put an end to the Russian war of aggression. The Swiss Tages-Anzeiger newspaper first reported on the announcement, which was made by Zelensky on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday.
The talks in Davos will follow a meeting in Malta in October, which was attended by around 70 countries from around the world as well as the European Union (EU) and the UN. Russia was not present.

Twitter specifically cited the Oliver Darcy confrontation, who is a public figure (working for CNN), which took place on public property, while Darcy was working in the capacity of a reporter at the time, outside a congressional hearing about censorship on social media.
They claimed it was “harassment” because he told him off for working to get him banned off all the other platforms. The irony is too thick to even describe. Twitter held out after he was unpersoned by YouTube and Facebook, but then after he humiliated the CNN clown, that was cited as the reason for the ban by Twitter’s Trust and Safety account.
People should watch Tucker Carlson’s interview with Alex Jones to see the real Alex, not just his flaws and mistakes that the media spent years amplifying and trying to make his identity.
He is a genius, but like most geniuses, it’s counterbalanced by equal sized flaws.

ep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY) has asserted that she possesses unequivocal proof that city officials are actively working to enable illegal immigrants to get registered to vote.
Malliotakis submitted a request under the Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) to access the agreement between New York City and Homes for the Homeless, which manages the migrant facility on Staten Island.
Homes for the Homeless (HFH) is a nonprofit organization tasked with erecting emergency shelters for migrants amidst a deepening border crisis. Within this contract’s appendix, the Representative spotted language that seemed to instruct the nonprofit to supply voter registration paperwork to the shelters’ migrant residents.
During a press briefing in Staten Island, Malliotakis announced that she had acquired a portion of a contract between New York City’s Department of Social Services and Homes for the Homeless.
She found that it obligates contractors of migrant shelters to hand out voter registration cards, help migrants in registering to vote, and circulate campaign materials within the shelter premises.
The US Congresswoman had to file a FOIA request to get what should be public information available through the agency’s public presence or given freely to anyone who asks. If their intensions were honest.

Where you really see the systemic incompetence is in the campaign of Ron “Bootsy” DeSantis, who was supposed to be Trump’s mini-me. Everything about his campaign has been terrible, because he made the decision to hand his campaign over to party hacks and Washington insiders. As a result, he has spent this year transitioning from the mouthy Italian from Florida into Mike Dukakis. He is so boring dust forms on your monitor whenever someone mentions him on-line.

I’m seeing about 1 in 10 wearing masks at my place of employment and about 1 in 7 in my neighborhood and local shops/restaurants.

The people getting really sick this flu season are invariably the people who got all the experimental vaccine bioweapon shots. Some are getting really sick, sometimes out from work for about 2 weeks.
I’m in LA county and I’m not seeing a huge increase in masks. What I have observed is people who are sick are wearing them and it’s just as long as they have a cough. This is just within my social circles including daughters “conservative” leaning school, trader joe’s crew where I shop almost daily, and the local coffee shops. We should know in the morning [TODAY] whether SCOTUS will hear the first challenge to DOJ’s use of 1512(c)(2), obstruction of an official proceeding, in Jan 6 cases.
It is one of four counts in Jack Smith’s J6 indictment of Donald Trump.
4 of 9 justices must agree to grant cert in a petition filed by 3 defendants charged with the most common J6 felony.
Only one judge–Carl Nichols (Trump)–on DC District court dismissed the charge. At least 12 other judges have denied similar motions to dismiss.
When Nichols ordered the charge dismissed, DOJ appealed. In April, a 3-judge panel on DC appellate court issued what one judge called a “splintered” ruling on DOJ’s interpretation of the statute.
In essence, the muddled decision resulted in 3 different opinions.
Given DOJ’s “novel” use of 1512c2–as the Dem judge on the panel admitted–it seems imperative that SCOTUS weigh in. More than 300 J6 defendants face this felony; it has resulted in numerous plea deals and years-long prison sentences. (Think Jacob Chansley.)
If SCOTUS refuses to review the appeal, it will be safe to assume the judges are once again too afraid to wade into politically fraught matters that might favor Trump or his supporters–just like the 2020 election.

NEW: SCOTUS did not announce a decision today on petition to review muddy appellate ruling in 1512(c)(2)
Case has been relisted–so it will be considered at next conference date, which is January 5.
That means a decision to grant cert could be announced on Jan 8, 2024–three years to the day that DOJ empaneled the first grand jury to investigation the events of January 6.

He asked the Supreme Court to bypass the DC Circuit Court of Appeals, skip the normal Supreme
Court briefing and argument timelines, and immediately decide whether Trump enjoys presidential immunity.

This is interesting; is Jack Smith or whatever his real name is, trying to avoid responding to Congressional subpoena for records by going to the Supreme Court with his new request to see if he can prosecute a person that has Presidential immunity? Kind of a change the subject move?
