You could say the same thing about Kari Lake. Basically she comes from the same background. MSM. Yet she has proven to be much more and Tucker is much more knowledgeable in terms of world and political subject matter. He has been an investigative reporter for years and has been part of all sides of the political spectrum and hard issues across the globe.. I think he brings a lot to the table and he’s very popular and well known because of his career, just like PTrump.
The vp is a big p.r. person anyway and carries the policies of the administration to the public and world leaders. He’d be fine, imo. I seriously don’t think he’d be interested though and he has said as much. Things do change however, so who knows if he’d agree to be VP in the end.

Cjzak, the problem with Tucker is he is in no way ready to be President, should something medically happen to an 80 yr old Donald Trump. While Tucker is an intelligent man, Tucker would be at the mercy of those around him, since he does not know the laws and procedures that regulate what the POTUS can and cannot do unilaterally.
Plus, although Tucker says he knows many of the people in DC, he probably does not know how many or which of them would gladly undermine or betray him if he is part of the second Trump Administration. That’s a tough lesson to learn after being put in the job…
But Tucker has stated multiple times he does not generally like to be around a lot of people – one reason he lives in a very rural part of Maine. He has also said repeatedly he has no interest in being a politician because of the compromises it demands and the restrictions it places on what he can say.

Israel Update:
–Speaker of the IDF: “The IDF is operating in a part of the Shifa hospital. The operation is based on Intelligence and an operational need.” He also told a reporter: “A local precision operation to maybe reach a place to defeat the Hamas and release hostages”.
The IDF stressed that the operation is not to hurt patients. It preceded with an effort to evacuate patients and a special passage was opened for it. The management of the hospital was informed in advance. Later in the operation Israel will deliver incubators, equipment and baby food. The operation includes also Arab speaking Israeli doctors. The IDF is calling the Hamas to surrender.
There are some reports of confrontations at the entrance to the hospital.
Hamas is blaming the U.S. for publishing that “Hamas is operating in the hospital” and giving Israel the green light to attack. Gazans report that there are Israeli tanks around the hospital and snipers all over the surrounding buildings. Israel considers Shifa as a critical location as underneath it there is the main Headquarters of Hamas. It also has spaces for the Hamas leadership.
Note: This is an ongoing matter so by the time I post the update, things can change.
From what I see the IDF is using the known “Pressure Cooker Protocol.”
Usually there are a few steps:
1. Surround and demand surrender.
2. Anti tank Rockets.
3. Bulldozers.
Considering there could be hostages it may be a means of letting them feel the sward close to their necks and then cut a hostage release deal. But only time will tell what is really going on. This is a very complex operation. I personally don’t like the excessive “trying to look considerate to the world”. This should be a pure military operation without talk. My opinion.
-Trudeau President of Canada is voicing complaint about civilian deaths in Gaza. Calling Israel to be restrained. Bibi answers that “Hamas is committing war crimes not Israel”.
-Three Jewish students in NY University are suing the institution for allowing antisemitism and a dangerous environment.
-Biden discussed with Netanyahu the subject of hostage release.
-I now ran across a few lefties who become right after what happened in 10/7. Mainly people from the inflicted areas who experienced real losses. In Israel a “lefty” is defined differently than the US. In Israel the “lefty” believes that Arabs should get land for peace even when it is strategic land that can endanger the nation. The lefty believes that you can talk with terrorists and is finding rightness in their complaints. The lefty is secular and want a secular nation rather than a Jewish nation. They are also aligned with universal liberals with their extra worry of climate change and other social Justice matters.
I find it interesting to see the shifts in view points. I always wondered what does it take?
Basically they awakened to the fact that they were living by Nazis and are not willing for it any longer.

-The Houthis from Yemen are saying that they fired ballistic missiles at Israel. Israel used the Arrow 3 system to intercept the missile. Note: So far Israel tolerated those people but eventually they may regret it. They are used to have a back and forth going on with Saudi Arabia but Israel is not Saudi Arabia. They also warned they will attack Israeli ships in the Red Sea.
-A senior Israeli told the ABC that there is a progress in the hostage negotiations.
-About 280,000 demonstrated in DC in support of Israel. It was a friendly nice demonstration full of love and with good music performances and The Republican Head of the House and the Democrat Head of Senate both spoke to the crowd.
Note: comparing this to a pro Palestinian/Hamas rally is like comparing a Trump rally to an Antifa demonstration.
-Another of many heroism stories emerges. This one with actual footage. It’s not news but it’s worthy of mentioning. His name is Anar Shapira. He is a young special forces soldier who was in the festival, unarmed. He is an athlete and could have run but stayed with a group who were hiding in a concrete structure. He is seen to throw back no less than 7 hand grandes and so kill terrorists. Eventually he got killed I think by a hand grande. Survivors are saying that he saved about 10 people. He was an artist, a musician and a painter.

As a youngster I remember watching a show, might have been Ed Sullivan. There was a table with at least 1/2 a dozen musical instruments, from string instruments to trombones etc. Roy Clark picked each one up and played them all. He was a vet talented musician .
Latest IDF footage. Gaza.
There is a visible difference in the development of the land of the Israeli people’s and the land of Gaza. It looks to me like the Israeli’s land is actually developed, not just utilitarian, like Gaza. It speaks volumes of the difference in how people care about their surroundings. I can only imagine how depressing it must be live in surrounding like Gaza and how much more pleasing it would be to live in Israel. To me, the difference is as striking as that between a desert and a lush forest.
Israel was a desert land described by Mark Twain who made a visit in 1867 : “….. A desolate country whose soil is rich enough, but is given over wholly to weeds… a silent mournful expanse…. a desolation…. we never saw a human being on the whole route…. hardly a tree or shrub anywhere. Even the olive tree and the cactus, those fast friends of a worthless soil, had almost deserted the country.”
Israel in the beginning had swamps and malaria. The settlers planted eucalyptus trees to dry the swamps. You still see a lot of those trees.
When you land in Israel and you look from above the Israeli area is mostly green. You look into the surrounding Arab areas and it’s yellow.

Grits are derived from corn which is a new world plant and was unknown to Europeans.
The first settlers to Jamestown and the mid – Atlantic states found the native Americans eating a corn porridge called rockhomine. The settlers changed the name to hominy and started planting corn.
Hominy is corn kernels treated with alkalies (lye). Hominy dried and ground is hominy grits. Hominy shares the origin of masa flour and therefore the reason you have tortillas, corn chips and tacos.
Now for something really special!
Food historian Lois Ellen Frank calls potatoes, tomatoes, corn, beans, squash, chili, cacao, and vanilla the “magic eight” ingredients that were found and used only in the Americas before 1492
If we deconstruct that these foods were inherently native, then that means that the Italians didn’t have the tomato, the Irish didn’t have the potato, half the British National Dish—Fish and Chips—didn’t exist. The Russians didn’t have the potato, nor did they have vodka from the potato. There were no chiles in any Asian cuisine anywhere in the world, nor were there any chiles in any East Indian cuisine dishes, including curries. And the French had no confection using either vanilla or chocolate. So the Old World was a completely different place.

It has to made with the trimmings of a salt cured Virginia ham or more commonly referred to as country ham. If its made with anything else it is indeed disgusting. a tiny bit of red-eye gravy goes a long way.

I am amused at how Massa, Grits, Polenta are all basically corn flour. Yet such different things are made with them.
And that two of those words were something totally different before Europeans met maize. Read somewhere that polenta was a mainstay in the diet of a Roman soldier. What grain did they grind up back then? And corn was basically any kernel of any grain before the English landed in the New World.
It is more astounding when we think of traditional dishes all over the world. They are usually a mixture of old and new world foods.
My grandmother died young and my grandaddy raised seven kids. All of the time I knew him he would watch tv until it went off after the last western ended and he would get up about ten o’clock in the morning and fix breakfast. 2eggs,2pieces of bacon, 2sausages, a can of biscuits and a pot of coffee. It killed him. It took 91 years but it finally got him. Or maybe it was the Garrett snuff.

It’s in all our supermarkets here. Usually in a jar. Near the peanut butter and honey and jam (which you call jelly). It can also come in a tube, but I’ve never tried that. Maybe good for travel ??

However, I definitely love it!! And when I visited my Aussie friend who moved to Canada, she also asked me to bring a giant jar of Vegemite.

When we make jam it’s cooked-down fruit and a LOT of sugar. Jelly has all visible fruit pulp strained out and is translucent or clear, and still has a LOT of sugar. That’s how I understand the difference.
Love me some Vegemite. My favorite is a Vegemite and peanut butter sandwich. Sadly, here in US I can only find it in littlt dinky jars at a rather exorbinent price. I still rue the day that I had no room in my luggage for the gallon size jars I saw in OZ.
It costs a fortune to buy speciality foreign food. But Vegemite is worth it.

Washed down with a big cup of real tea. I can see the attraction. I used to love it too, but went for many years not having it and just never quite got back to it it. When I did re-taste it, I found I had sadly, lost the same desire for it I once had. But having been an aficionado I totally relate to your enjoyment of same delicacy.

A cousin of my deceased husband’s married a man from Perth (who sadly has now passed away.) Not from anything he ate 🙂 He swore by Aussie meat pies, he said pies from where else (he lived in Western Canada) were just not the same, Aussie meat pies were special.

Israel Update:
So here is what I know about the raid at Shifa hospital so far. The IDF met resistance at the entrance with terrorists and explosives. Five terrorist were killed. No injuries to the IDF at this point of reports from Gaza. I would guess it was one of the top elite units which is very hard to kill them. Top warriors. I will update when I know more. I know IDF interrogated some doctors and staff about hostages.
I had a flock of 20-30 of these Ruby Crowned Kinglets come through my yard a few days ago, mixed in were some Chipping Sparrows, the wandering flock of resident Bluebirds, local Chickaddees,Titmouse, and my winter arrival White-Crowned Sparrows. These Kinglets are smaller than Chickadees and their telltale behvaior is they flick their wings constantly. If you remember I posted on here about 2 weeks ago of a huge flock (50+most I have ever see) of their cousins the Golden Crowned Kinglets. I call them our “Winter Warblers”

I was treated to just one a few mornings ago. A very busy bird, it’s behavior caught my attention. Flitting around in our river birch appeared to be searching under and the back side of remaining leaves.

Sparrows,Vireo’s, female/juvenile/winter plumage Warblers always give me fits. I use habitat to aid me in the educated guesswork that sometimes you need to ID species. When I learned the Warbler calls, was when I really upped my game during my Spring morning Warbler/bird walks up in my “magical forest” where I used to live.
My record is 20 Warbler species in one day. My best two was a Kirtland’s and a Golden-winged (heard once, saw once)
One of our rarest Warblers. It faces a unique challenge in that another species which is more of a habitat generalist interbreeds with it and destroys it. The hybrids are no longer Golden-wings
Backyard buddies are cardinals, titmouse, chickadees, nuthatches, et. with a visit from some white throated sparrows that visit each winter. Larger birds are the jays and mourning doves. Have a great day everyone.
Chickadees are a favorite of mine from my neighbor feeding them out of her hand. I had a pair of Carolina Chickadees nest in my Bluebird box a few years ago. Where I used to live I had Black Capped Chickadees. I went up to upstate New York once to see Boreal Chickadees, though the Gray Jays I saw there was what ended up really making an impression on me

I used to live where there were a lot of chickadees, and when I had a hose in the garden they seemed to appear, and one day I sent the water spray high into the air to see what they would do as they kept calling to me, or each other.
I found out they seemed to enjoy flying back and forward through the water spray. They would do it a few times then perch on a tree branch and ruffle their feathers and groom themselves. Sometimes they would return for another shower. They were delightful.
We are mocking the BBC. Funny.

Ezekiel 38:1-2 “And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, set your face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,”
Ezekiel 39:1-7 “Therefore, you son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus says the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: and I will turn you back, and leave but the sixth part of you, and will cause you to come up from the north parts, and will bring you upon the mountains of Israel: and I will smite your bow out of your left hand, and will cause your arrows to fall out of your right hand. You shall fall upon the mountains of Israel, you, and all your bands, and the people that is with you: I will give you to the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured. You shall fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, says the Lord GOD. Revelation 13:1 “And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a little wild beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon its horns ten diadems, and upon its heads the name of blasphemy.”

In Ezekiel and in the Book of Revelation are mentioned specifically by name, Gog and Magog: and in reading the entirety of the things of those days, when they do appear; it is clear that ‘what’ they are, and their purposes, make what name they are therefore given. Just as Adam named all the animals as the LORD God brought them unto him one by one, to see what he would call them; and from out of his perfect understand of what each one was, he named them; so, I believe, has the LORD named Gog and Magog, according to His perfect understanding what they are. And what they are, evidently, are the devil and the people of the devil.
In Ezekiel, this Gog and Magog are mentioned as being brought by God into the mountains of Israel, at the time that He returns to His people, and restores the kingdom of David; that it is for God’s glory and restoring the kingdom to Israel, that He puts His hook in the jaws of Gog and Magog, to destroy them for ever in the sight of His people, and of the whole world.
We know from Revelation, that the antichrist is empowered by the devil to set up the abomination of desolation, and gather the armies of the whole world together, to fight against the Lord at His coming. And so does the devil also after he is loosed for a short time, after the thousand years, gather together an innumerable army to attack the holy city and the place where the saints dwell, the land of Israel; when God shall consume them in a moment with fire from out of heaven.
Ezekiel calls the devil and his people Gog and Magog; and John in Revelation calls them Gog and Magog. Also, the description of the devil, and the description of his human counterpart, the antichrist, are nearly identical: the devil is described spiritually as a great red (fire colored) dragon; and the antichrist is described spiritually as a little wild beast; but both have seven heads and ten horns. One has crowns upon his heads; and the other has crowns upon his horns. Both make war on the saints and Christ.
In Revelation chapter twelve, the dragon is cast out of heaven into the earth; and it is said, Woe to them that dwell upon the earth; for the devil is come down to you having great wrath, for he knows he has but a short time. Then in chapter thirteen, the beast rises up from out of the people, out of the earth; conquering and subduing the whole world unto himself, with the power and authority to kill outright all who will not obey him; and his especial mission, is to make war on the saints and overcome them, until Christ comes; who shall destroy him with the breath of his mouth and cast him and the false prophet alive into the lake of fire.
Because of these Scriptures, and all the ones similarly speaking of these same things; I believe that this is an accurate interpretation, of who and what is Gog and Magog.
2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 “Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, that you be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or object of veneration; so that he as God sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. [Do] you not remember, that when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now you know what holds back that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity does already work: only he who now restrains will restrain, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them *strong delusion (a working of error), that they should believe a lie: that they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”
What is becoming glaringly apparent in the world right now, over the “controversy of Zion?” They receive not the love of the truth! They have pleasure in unrighteousness! They believe what is false!
The reason why the Lord tells us these things, is so that we won’t be scandalized when we see them happen, or think some strange thing is happening to us. Also it is because, there are many false teachers, impostors, and deceivers, gone out into the world, seeking to take advantage of the unlearned and unestablished, and those who are vulnerable because they are loathe to take the narrow way of the cross, and denying themselves anything to make their calling and election sure. Multitudes of would be followers of Jesus want a kind of Jesus and a kind of Gospel, that lets them have a good life in this world, and never have to be accountable. These are the kind that will want to save their lives, when keeping the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus demands that we lose our lives and deny self.
Knowing who and what Gog and Magog is, is not for idle “religious” amusement, or idle curiosity and fascination for the scary things in the Bible. Knowledge and understanding is for learning how to walk and to please God; and that we have the foresight to take advantage of the time till then, to prepare for what is coming.

And why would G-d do that?
Have you never read the Scriptures? This temporary condition of the world, is a probationary period, till everyone who is to be born, has been born; and men have been given time to prove whether they are of the truth, and shall be saved because of God’s redemption in Christ; or else they choose to believe the liar and the adversary, making themselves forever unfit for the Presence of God, and must be destroyed. God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son; that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. Jesus didn’t come to destroy our lives, but to save them. Whoever comes to Him is not condemned; but He makes us new creations, born of God, set free from sin and the power of darkness. He that believes not is already condemned, because he has not believed in the only begotten Son of God. (see Genesis 3:15)
Why would God do that? Because He loves us, and does not wish for any man to perish: but many do not want to be of the truth or fear God or be good; and there can be no place in God’s creation for the wicked and the rebellious and the liars. So He takes the wicked in their own wickedness, and is glorified for His righteousness to show mercy on them that love Him and keep His commandments.
“The kingdom of heaven is likened to a man which sowed good seed in his field: but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? From whence then has it tares? He said to them, An enemy has done this. The servants said to him, Will you then that we go and gather them up? But he said, No; for fear that while you gather up the tares, you root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn . . . He that sows the good seed is the Son of man; the field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; the enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. The Son of man shall send forth His angels, and they shall gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; and shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. As I’m sure you know, there are various ways of interpreting these verses. As a Hebrew, John having grown up with the language of the prophets (Old Testament), in this letter is speaking in the same apocalytical literature style as passages written for us by Daniel, Ezekial, Jeremiah, Isaiah, and the others, concerning God’s judgement and destruction of evil empires, such as our own.
When studying the Revelation of John, we must be reminded that he writes in the Prologue, in two of the first three verses as follows; 1:1 “The Revelation of Jesus Christ which God gave Him to show to His servants, the things which must soon take place. And then in 1:3. Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and keep what is written in it, for the time is near.” (My highlights)
John was writting to a specific people, namely the believers and followers of Messiah, about specific coming events that would be in their lifetime, namely, the coming of Jesus Christ “on the clouds” (remember apocolyptic language, expressing coming judgement) on the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem and all the events that occured in the First Century (specifically, in 70 AD.) (Again, my highlights)
Let also the reader be reminded that John’s apocolytic vision of these things ends with like language; see Revelation 22:10 Note: Whereas Daniel’s prophecy in 12:4 on coming events, ended with the words “shut up the words, and seal the book…” John was told to “do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near.” Then in verse 12, these words were given him: “Behold, I am coming soon.”
These words given to John by our LORD Jesus, were given to alert His followers at that time of the coming persecution leading up to the destruction of God’s holy and defiled Temple. These prohecies were indeed fulfilled just as it was spoken in the first century, by our LORD.
I believe this is the proper way to interpret this prophecy. Would God say “these things will soon take place”, or “the time is near” if His intention was for them to occur some two thousand years, or more, later? I say an emphatic -NO!
I admit that the events in the First Century regarding the many prophecies, appear to be written to us today, and indeed, judgement is coming and is already here in full swing (as in the pendulum has swung far to the left wiping out practically every facet of normalcy from our once God fearing Republic), and much of it for the same reasons as why He destroyed the Temple in 70 AD.
But for more on this position, go to Blog and Mablog, to get the views of those who hold to an eschatology of victory of Christ’s eminent return when He judges the nations for the last time, and defeats His last enemy, death.
An interesting interpretation, one favored currently I believe by Rome.

My very Roman Catholic bible teacher stated that throughout biblical prophecy there was always a double meaning. The prophecy would have to take place in the lifetime of those listening or else why would the “prophet” be lauded as a prophet. But there was always a secondary, deeper meaning.
Jesus did not return in the clouds in the First Century and no one claimed to have seen him as promised: “. . .and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” Matthew 24:30, KJV

My dear Catholic friend and former principal of a Catholic grade school, printed off a copy for me from Catholic Answers after we were having a very nice and cordial discussion about some of the alternate views of what happens before Christ’s return. In the brief explanation of the main views, it seemed as though the RCs do not place a big emphasis of the different versions, but only that Jesus will one day return for the final judgement. To that I can whole-heartedly agree. But that’s just the short version.
That is not the case with Protestantism in our generation. I am not a scholar, but I believe I understand the positions well enough to teach it and look up the answers and know where to look when I get stumped.
Apostle John spoke of many antichrists who are already with us (First Century), and will continue til the end.. That is not to say that there will not be capital “A” Antichrist at some point in history. I believe there are very many capital “A” Antichrists among us now; can anyone say “Fourth Branch of Government, Davos, the WEF, etc? They are all capital “A” Antichrists and are much needed to be placed beneath the King’s, Jesus’s, feet. And in His time, and through the preaching of the Gospel, they will. When? No man knows the time, nor the hour. But one thing is certain; it will happen. Glory to God.
My position on the antichrist is that the church today and in the last several generations has spent far too much time focusing on the antichrist. If they spent as much time focusing on The Christ, we wouldn’t be in this mess. We would already be seeing a conquering spirit over the forces of darkness, similar to the time of America’s founding, when the true Gospel, was clearly taught and better understood.
Your comment on “a secondary, deeper meaning,” I will consider as I continue my education on this subject. My first thought, I think it’s a good comment and makes sense and is probably applicable in many or most places. However, there are many places where the brunt of the text is as it reads, and we shouldn’t get too caught up in spiritualizing verses that have specific meanings.
Which brings me to my final point in response to your comments. As far as Matthew 24…. The language Jesus was using when describing “coming on the clouds” is Old Testament apocolyptic language that can be found throughout the prophets of old. See: Daniel, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Joel, Amos, and always refered to God coming in judgement on a wicked ruler or empire. Let me repeat for those who are not paying close attention; “always refered to God coming in judgement on a wicked ruler or empire!” God did that in 70 AD. Everything Jesus prophesied in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21, came to pass just as He said it would.
Will it happen in history again, as you stated above, “secondary meanings”? Yes it will, but it is not to be taken lightly that it did happen in the 1st Century, just as Jesus described. Psalm 2 says “He (God), will speak to them (evil rulers of evil empires) in His wrath, and terrify them when His anger is kindled but a little. He will break them with a rod of iron, and dash them like a potter’s vessel.” We must all “kiss the Son,” lest He be angry with us. (Note: I’m not talking about true believers falling from grace. None of us deserves His mercy. “By grace alone we have been saved. Not by works, lest anyone may boast.” Eph 2:8-9
But persecution is coming, and like I said in my previous post, is already here. We need to get these things right. They can be rightly taught and understood. Let Scripture interpret Scripture. Not the evening news, or man’s imagination. We need to be led with eyes of faith, not by fear. That’s always been what caused God to send the trials and tribulations, when God’s people got these things wrong. Like that which we even now are facing.
I wouldn’t necessarily say, “secondary meanings,” as that implies incompleteness of “ONE” meaning. But as you inferred, that the Scripture has to be taken in the context in which it is written (my words); as far as if a Scripture was fulfilled at one point in history, does not automatically make that the end of it. Some things are specific; like when the Lord rode into Jerusalem on an ass. But others have farther reaching fulfillment because of the nature of the prophecy; for example about Babylon and Nineveh being destroyed; which although that did once happen to those places; the final judgment upon that in the world altogether, has yet to be completed.
Scripture interprets Scripture. And there is real ancient history that most Christians have absolutely zero idea about; which would make understanding easier if they knew it. For example, the story of Nimrod and Babel, and how as he went forth conquering and becoming strong, his “life’s work and masterpiece of blasphemy and war against God and against Christ, culminated in building Nineveh; which in its original tongue signifies, “I am Son.” And so when the LORD came down to see what they were building, and what all they were imagining against Him; He said, Now nothing will be restrained from them, of all that they have imagined to do. So t curtail their wickedness, He confounded the language and scattered them over the face of the whole earth. The long term effect being, that that wicked heathen antichrist spirit is at the root of every nation under heaven; and will not be finally dealt with and destroyed, until Christ returns. So, while the ancient city of Babylon was ages ago destroyed from off the map; the spirit in the world that the heathen antichrist men are devoutly loyal to; must come to the full for the Harvest.
One last point:

Imagine it’s 68 AD. Jesus has been raised for some thirty-five years now. The church is growing rapidly in all parts of Judea, Summaria, and the outermost parts of the world (See Matthew 28:19-21. Also, much of the Acts of the Apostles),
You are in hiding, not only from the Roman magistrates for not calling Ceasar Lord, but also by the Jewish leaders who were flogging and stoning to death the followers of Messiah. You would not be allowed to fellowship in the Temple, and you would be completely cut off from your former life. Your friends and family have abandoned you and considered you as dead.
I believe that is the proper teaching of those passages. Can/will it happen again (“secondary meaning”)? I think the next few years may get real tough for true Christians. Unless we repent, we too will not survive. Fear not the one who can kill the body. Fear the One who after the body has been put to death, the sould will be damned for eternity.

I think it is a mistake to think of the Scriptures in any way as having human influence. Understanding can only come to us through Him who inspired its writing; and that is the Spirit of God. Men cannot receive the Spirit of God, who do not know Him, and are unwilling and disobedient to His strivings and convictions.
The Bible is NOT some kind of code, that men might be able to solve, and discover its secrets. The word of God is the truth; and they that are of the truth hear His voice.

I’m open to the view that this is not one of those, but thinking it probably is. And I also at this point would remind the readers of this thread that our Lord Jesus said; “A wicked and perverse generation seek after signs, but none will be given….”
There’s plenty work to keep us on the straight and narrow by studying to show ourselves approved, and studying in the word of God, without getting distracted by all the rabbit trails that the devil and his children try to drag us down.
I disagree that there are various ways of interpreting Scripture, in the sense that it is not for everyone to decide what it means for himself. The word is given by inspiration of God. And Jesus said, that not one jot or tittle shall pass away from the law, up to as far as if heaven and earth shall pass away. The prophets and apostles spoke and wrote by the Spirit; not by their own will, or by cultural influences of the day. All such suppositions only cause doubt and disrespect towards the word of God, and are used by the devil to make men’s minds open to sin and rebellion. But God said we should rule over it, when we do that which is right.
2 Peter 1:19-21 “And we have more sure the prophetic word, whereunto you do well taking heed, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the *day star (light bearer) arise in your hearts: knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture is of any private interpretation: for the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”

Thank you so much for the words of encouragement and PRAYERS on our behalf yesterday. I need to clarify something: daughter was NOT STRANGLED. That was an excellent example of how online postings can have “lives of their own” and completely evolve into their own insane stories. If someone laid their hands on my kid in that way – you would be sending me love notes to prison – I promise you that.
She had DIRT MARKS on her neck from the fall and she had no bruising as of last night.
She is okay. It has been reported to administration and we are awaiting their response. Kiddo didn’t think there are cameras in the courtyard, but there should be according to the bus driver I spoke with this morning.
I truly believe PRAYERS WORK and therefore I ask for them when afflicted with more than I can handle. Kiddo is alert, smiling and light, enjoying immensely her new job, and she will be out of school today for some personal appointments, so she had a full restful night’s sleep. PRAISE GOD!
She did speak with her two guy friends and they are on the case. The Vice Principal is on the case.
We have tentacles throughout that school and will work within the confines present to ensure her safety. We also know that nothing is foolproof and personal safety is UP TO EACH ONE OF US. We must be vigilant.

As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles.
