Israel Update:
-If you followed me you know that I said that Netanyahu is on a collision course with the Biden Administration. Now it becomes more apparent. Biden from some reason wants a Palestinian State under the control of the Palestinian Authority. I already explained that the Palestinian Authority has the same intentions as Hamas and no popular support which means no ability to control.
So today Netanyahu was asked this exact question and said: “There won’t be there a Civil Authority who is teaching their children to hate Israel, to kill Israelis, to destroy Israel. An Authority who is paying terrorists’ families according to the number of Israelis they murdered. There can’t be an Authority whose Head didn’t condemn the 10/7 massacre for more than 30 days. Something else will have to be there. But in any case their security control must be ours. And I insist on it, there can be pressures on it, but I am not intending to give up. I just talked with a bereaved father who I know and just lost his older son. He said : I am just asking one thing. Please get the job done so he wouldn’t have died for nothing. I told him ‘I sear to you, this is what we will do’. And to do so it means that the day after Hamas, another Hamas will not be able to emerge. We will secure this too. “
This all paragraph is clearly related to the Palestinian Authority who is paying salaries to terrorists’ families and educating for hate.
-In the same press conference where the above things were told, the Defense Minister was asked: “What would be the red line to a full war with Hezbollah?”
He said: “When you see us bombing Beirut (Capital of Lebanon) you will know that the red line was crossed”. Note: This is a good point to remember.
-Today there was a bad day for the IDF because we lost 5 Reserve people and 4 badly injured. Basically the tunnel shaft was boobytraps with strong explosives and the structure collapsed on them. Note: I am sure that the IDF will learn and not repeat this mistake but in a war things happen. Sad. Note: Israel is small. Israelis have their sons and fathers in the IDF. There is a very close relations to the military and a lot of love to the military. When soldiers die you see their faces on all media outlets and news. You see their faces with explanation on what they did in life and how many children they left alone. We all pain the losses. Sometimes thousands of strangers attend the funerals. I just wanted to communicate the mood in Israel. We are sad but determined.
-There is a report from anonymous higher person in Israel that there is an advanced negotiations for a hostage release deal. Releasing tens of hostages for fuel, ceasefire days, and some prisoner release. Note: This would be controversial depending on how many and who will be released. For the children and women and elderly it would be worth it. For the foreigners, no. The foreigners will be releases anyways. Thai hostages etc… serve no purpose for Hamas.
-Nasrallah the leader of Hezbollah had his anticipated speech and didn’t say anything new.
There were worries that it will be a declaration of war but it wasn’t. He did mention that they have a kind of a 1/2 a tone missiles. This makes Hezbollah more dangerous.
-Since the beginning of the war 20 Hamas operatives were eliminated in the West Back. They were involved in terror attacks. This report if from the IDF and Shabak (Intelligence agency).
-The Speaker of the IDF says something that contradicts many reports including my own update. He said that the Shifa hospital is not under siege and the east side is open for civilians to leave and they are in contact with the staff and are helping by enabling a move out of some tens of babies. This is contradicting many reports of regular media that helps to feed me. The way I understand it is that it’s all about the use of words. The place is surrounded which means a “siege” but for PR reasons the IDF is choosing to not call it s “siege”. There is no doubt that it is surrounded and the infantry are getting closer and closer.
-High Israeli official suggests that most of the hostages are likely no longer in South or Central Gaza but more likely in the South. Note: This is such a sensitive subject that he could be intentionally lying to confuse the enemy. Eventually Israel will also need to deal with the south. But the south is not a fortified stronghold of Hamas. As a note, I am 100% sure that Israel have many undercover spies with the refugees who are moving from North to South. It is necessary to identify any “refugee” from the “waned lists” or hostages or any misuse of the humanitarian aide.
-A report from Qatar. An Israeli delegation will arrive to Egypt regarding the hostage negotiations. Note: The Mossad is involved in the negotiations.
-The IDF intensified attacks on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon after some drone attacks and Israelis who got wounded. I watched some videos. Some major explosions. They are getting pounded. But Israel is going after facilities and not people. Trying to prevent escalation.
Hezbollah already report a commutative death toll of 71.
Note: There is a feeling in Israel that it’s a matter of time until Hezbollah succeed to kill enough Israelis before we go to war with them. We don’t like to wait for a disaster. But the US have put many assets into preventing an escalation so Israel does have an interest to to be able to focus on Hamas at this time.
-Netanyahu again “politely” attacks Macron of France for his anti Israel statement yesterday.
He said that “Israel shouldn’t kill babies and children”. Netanyahu explains again that the address to all complaints should go to Hamas. Hamas blocked escape of many Gazans. Israel gave them enough time to leave.
-About 45,000 Lebanese from the area close to Israel escaped the area.
Note: It’s wise of them. If Hezbollah starts the war or crosses the line it will be 10x worse than Gaza. Israel will not be able to just receive thousands of missiles daily many much larger and very precise and aimed at strategic places in Israel. Israel will have to be wild and heavy to deal with it. Hezbollah is a much larger threat and will require much stronger response.
-2 terrorists killed in Jenin (Palestinian city in the West Bank that is a terror hub).
Note: If you go on the BBC or CNN or many others you will read something like
“2 Palestinians killed” or “2 Palestinian teenagers killed”. I simply know the fire rules of the IDF and violators may go to jail. You only shoot at armed people, or those who use Molotov cocktails(fire bombs) or are really endangering human lives. You don’t just shoot at a kid who is throwing a stone from a thousand feet. Also note that it is a daily occurrence now that terrorists are killed in the West Bank. There are more activities and encounters.
-Some 300,000 people protest in support of Hamas or Palestine in London. This was done in a memorial British day and was controversial. I see Al-Quaeda flags. Tens of British Patriots were arrested because they were counter protesting. Britain has shrank from an Empire, to a nation, to now an occupied nation by another culture who supports terrorism. Sad.
Also in NY there was a large Pro Hamas protest with thousands and I posted a video of the fanatic Muslim who was taking down American flags and the crowd is cheering. In Veterans Day. This was really upsetting but must be told. Israel is facing what the West will face.
-Thousands are demonstrating in Tel Aviv for the release of the hostages.
Note: Those kind of protests tend to be hijacked by the left. I hope they will keep it
none-political. But I can see it is headed to bashing Netanyahu. At this time will give it the benefit of the doubt and assume it was none-political.
-IDF exchanges fire with terrorists win West Gaza and by the Shifa hospital.
-Israel shot down a drone that came from Lebanon.
-I see a video of French patriots going to the streets protesting the Islamic Pro Hamas invaders. Note: Not so many. But at least some see the problem and want to do something about it. Marie Le Pen the leader of the opposition in France was recently making noice when she wanted to march against antisemitism. She was always attacked for antisemitism in her party and she is recognizing the real problem that France is facing.
I think that she will win eventually when French patriots will realize the problem they have with the invading forces who wouldn’t assimilate. Note: I don’t have a problem with anyone from any religion who is assimilating and adopting the main tenants of the culture and is a productive member of society. But those who have the idea that they came to replace the local culture with something else, that’s a different problem.
-German Foreign Minister in a visit to Israel. Israeli Government is thankful to her support.
Note: Germany have shown more support than most of West Europe.
-Senior Advisor of Biden for Middle East, Bertrand Mcgurk, is arriving to Israel to see Netanyahu and other Senior Official about a potential hostage release deal and about the war. He will then go to Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrein and Jordan. The subject is possibly a release of women and children. The rumor is that its 80 hostages.
Note: Hopefully he will not try to squeeze Israel to give up on the objective of the war, etc….
All the countries he is visiting are trying to stop Israel from its job.

David, I am an universal blood donor (O-) and have been searching for over a month on a way to have my blood donation benefit Israel or the Jewish community who may need blood immediately as a result of this whole mess Hamas caused. I have attempted to contact the US military, but have not received a response. I certainly do not want to donate to any cause against Israel. If you have any ideas please let me know. I live in So California and will travel anywhere there to donate, but it has to benefit Israel, or any civilian or solder needing blood immediately. I fired the Red Cross upon learning they will not transport blood donations to Israel or to the US military.

Mornin’ (again) Bet. When day/date appeared at 11:15 Texas time I breathed a huge sigh of relief – – – I’m a creature-of-habit, don’t handle change well at all. I honestly thought I might have to stop posting (something that is clearly not the Treehouse’s fault). But happily as always, admin understood how important our expected structure is to many of us Treepers (and that definitely includes me).
As you are a creature of habit, so am I, dear friend. And like you on that night I couldn’t sleep, I thought a cup of tea and a visit to our beloved branch (as you say 11:15 or close to it) would be just the ticket, as it always is when Mr Sandman for some inexplicable reason misses our house…and allow me a chance to get some early Saturday/Caturday postings in….
Alas, it was not to be.
I stayed up and waited, periodically checking…crickets…until I gave up. Add to that the concern that something was seriously amiss with our beloved essential crew who devotedly post new threads like clockwork, I did not sleep easily.
I’ve always put a high value on routine. When all around me is chaos, or events over which I/we have no control rage out of control (either personally or collectively), the parts of my life which are predictable and routine are comforting, calming. I’m sure if people honestly think about this they’d say the same.
Such a small thing really…the break in the routine of an 11:15 Open Thread posting. Sometimes it can’t be helped. But this place is as essential to me as breathing…and again, as with you dear friend, my peace (such as it is) was disturbed.
The aforementioned ramblings are just so you know you weren’t alone. I completely get it. This is how valuable our branch in this bless-ed Tree is for oh so many of us. A lifeline, an indispensable part of our lives. I’m betting we are not by ourselves in feeling this way. Good afternoon Bet! Long day yesterday with Men’s breakfast then the Veteran’s Day parade in our little town. Elizabeth brought and held the folded flag that covered her brother casket. Joe was killed in Vietnam in 69. She also wore her Mom’s Gold Star mother pin.
Later at a local cafe they were giving 50% off to all the veterans. When the lady asked if I was one I said, yes but from the wrong military. The army that I had to serve in was from a country that was a satellite of the Soviet Union, as you know. ❤️😍

Hi’ya ‘Woo, love. If I may, I’d like to share a little good news. Awhile back, you suggested that I may be vitamine deficient. I’m pushin’ 80 and I know old folks like me too often are indeed vitamine deficient. Fast forward to about a week ago. I’d read about the “Balance of Nature” vitamins but when I checked them out on Amazon they were pretty expensive.
Listed below them was a different company offering the same mix of fruits and veggies . . .$25 for a month’s supply. 5 days into taking the vitamines my pervasive fatigue is lessened while my energy is returning. Thanks so much for you kind advice.

Similarly , did not know Lux Aeterna was put to Elgar’s Nimrod Variations but glad someone did! Nothing is more relaxing than listening to a good Spanish Guitarist. You need all this music to wash the accumulation of noise from songs heard from the TV and radio after an average week.
A good one for Sunday is the group Tenebrae singing “Miserere me, Deus” from St. Bartholomew the Great Church in Chelsea (built after a vision by the King’s jester, Rahere, when he fell ill on a pilgrimage to Rome) a few years after William the Conqueror invaded.) the one singer hit notes too high for even Wilt Chamberlain to dunk on.

Veteran’s Day
Pray for our Icelandic friends who might suffer from a large volcanic eruption near Grindavik (at the south end of the Reykjanes penninsula, 25 miles southeast of Reykjavik and a few miles from the main airport and Blue Lagoon. 1400 earthquakes in last 24 hours. The last eruption was just up the valley 2 years ago that lasted months rather than weeks.

The only thing that stopped us from finishing the walls of the cabin was that we ran out of the 8″ long screws and neither Menards or Lowes in town had them in stock. They called around and they will have to go to Muncie or Fishers to get the screws. One more course to go to finish the walls.
If we can get the lumber for the rafters we may get the thing under its permanent roof before the first snow flakes fall. But getting the lumber is a big if because they are busy down at the saw mill with a couple of big orders. So more than likely we’ll put a temporary roof on it, install and trim the windows, build the doors and hang them, and then seal the thing up for the winter.

Closest USA alternative? (my humble opinion only) Old Fashioned Farm Style Oatmeal Cookie from Betty Crocker around 1978.
2 cups packed brown sugar1 cup butter1/2 cup buttermilk (can use regular milk)1 teaspoon vanilla4 cups quick-cooking oats1 3/4 cups flour1 teaspoon baking soda3/4 teaspoon saltHeat oven to 375º. Mix brown sugar, butter, buttermilk, and vanilla in bowl. Stir in remaining ingredients. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place about 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten cookies with bottom of glass dipped in water. Bake until golden brown, 8 to 10 minutes. Immediately remove from cookie sheet.

Good morning sunrei. Those oatmeal cookies vary from Chewy to hard depending upon when taken out. We don’t flatten very flat and take out early. They disappear very fast around our house. They are also egg free.
I wonder, what is the diff between using the quick -cooking oats v old-fashioned?
Taste? Ability to soften?
Your wish is my command.
A. Old fashioned oats are steamed and flattened and therefore require cooking but have more flavor and more texture.
B. Quick cooking oats or “One minute” oats are precooked and flattened so really adding water and heating is all that’s required.
C. Instant Oats are precooked flattened then diced to smaller size so a bit of water and the microwave does them.
Ever do overnight oats?
In a small container or Mason jar, combine oats, milk, yogurt and honey. Top with fruit and nuts. Seal; refrigerate overnight. Vary ingredients to suit your taste and it can be eaten as is or warmed the next morning.

You can make your own golden syrup. It’s simple syrup (cane sugar) with the addition of citric acid (usually a lemon wedge). The familiar British brand can also be purchased on Amazon.
I suspect you could take our fine light Southern cane syrups and replicate golden syrup fairly closely. I have never tried this but Cajoun/Creole cooking would not be the same without light cane syrup. Do not confuse light cane syrup and molasses they are very different.
Molasses is called treacle or dark treacle in the UK if I am not mistaken.
Cane syrup is not corn syrup either and the old brand Kings golden syrup is corn syrup not golden syrup.

The things I can get here are the very British beef stock cubes…OXO they’re called…but not on Amazon. Thankfully we have a British Emporium, which is where I find them.
When we landed here I was cooking a pot roast and used the same number of American cubes as I would my OXO, tasted it , and has to throw the whole thong out. The SALT!!!!!!! What a hideous waste!

Oh trapper….I cannot agree. Lived there twenty years and loved the full cooked breakfasts which monti cruelly left multiple pictures of the other day (Cruel, monti, CRUEL!!! 😉😘) The way those grilled tomatoes taste with a fried egg and mushrooms is not be believed. The Brits eat them other ways as well…fresh, sliced with a delectable cheese between two pieces of proper buttered bread we cannot get here in the States. Oh my!!!

OMG!!! My British father in law lived on bans on toast! He loved it for any meal. My Chris loves it. Cheap, cheerful and filling. Heinz were the beans of choice. But something I never could see developing a taste for.

Heinz beans in the UK, says Chris, has a richer sauce. They are different. Just as is Dr Pepper I discovered when, after years its not being available I suddenly, unexpectedly found in one of the big supermarkets where we shopped. There it is more syrupy and absolutely delicious.
I was brought up on Heinz so I prefer them to Bushes. The Browned beans are very sweet. I think the English beans are a little less sweet than the usual North American ones? I could be wrong. Maybe write to them (h

I love my can of Van Camps Pork and Beans with saltine crackers for the occasional lunch. The Van Camps are definitely sweet. I prefer them cold but I also love Bushes pinto beans for lunch with saltines or over toast (warmed though).
(I discovered beans on toast when temporary duty in Australia 92 time frame. Also developed a love for their conserves on melba toast)

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

American Friends. The following video represents an issue that I am having a hard time to deal with when facing the complaints and accusations of the other side. The other side mainly of Western people. I have seen quite a few who simply blame for the death toll in Gaza, calling it “crimes” and “Nazis” etc…
Even reasonable people.
I tend to get mad and blame them for “idotism” and cut the communication. I just don’t know how to find a way to explain that when Nazis kill your family and hide behind theirs and keeping bombing what is left of your family you then have to act forcefully. Let me know if you have an advise for me because I am getting frustrated. It feels to me like the other side is siding with Nazism and I lose my calm.

On October 13, Israel warned everyone in Gaza to get themselves south of Wadi Gaza. On October 22, Israel repeated the warning to the people of Gaza to get themelves south of Wadi Gaza. At this point, anyone NORTH of Wadi Gaza, including all of Gaza City, is either hamas or a hostage, regardless of their age.
The only acceptable result of this is the complete and unconditional surrender of all of Gaza to Israel, occupation of Gaza by Israel and re-education of its population, with NO resistance of any kind tolerated.
There is a blueprint for this from when America occupied defeated Japan and Germany after WW2 (85% of Tokyo was bombed out, by the way). Take out the book, dust it off, and follow it. And any other country that doesn’t like it can go pound sand. Hamas is an existential enemy to the West, and should be treated as such.

Simply say to them, “I don’t understand… how so? ” Make them explain their positions rather than feeling forced to answer their hideous accusations. Answer their questions with a question of your own.
As for the ridiculous labels assigned to Israel as “occupiers” or “invaders”?
Well, she can’t be both now, can she? When faced with either of this appellations, you might point that out.

I have done this in previous Israel conflicts.
It seems that they have no answer to what Israel should do instead. But it is an unequal number of dead, and this upsets them.
If you persist, you’ll find that these people just need some more dead Jews. That is what’s in their hearts.
This time I have been quite upset and have been avoiding the usual arguing by avoiding social situations as much as possible.
I twice saw “poor Palestinians, Israel is bad” from friends. One I decided I’m no longer friends with and haven’t even told her. It’s just over. The other I know is absolutely not racist in any way and so I explained the facts and she was good and wanting further information.
I have also only just gone back to my dance class. It is an Israeli dance class, where about 1/3 are Jewish. Can you believe it, within 5 min I had someone make the effort to come across the room to tell me that Israel is committing a genocide. I said it wasn’t correct, but she would have none of that.
You cannot know what’s in someone’s heart, but when they cross a room to tell a Jewish person lies about Israel, you can have a good guess!
My dad explained that she probably tells people she’s not antisemitic and gives the example that she attends an Israeli dance class. Like when someone is racist and says, but I have a Chinese friend.
Stay away from them.
Its at times like these that antisemitism which has been lurking in their souls comes out.

This is a battle for the human soul and I believe the “Good” (meaning Israelis) are winning it. If you look at the manufactured images coming out of London, they are effectively countered by the images of the masses of people surrounding the Cenotaph. The evil forces bussed in people and corrupted administrative practices to create a Pro-Hamas photo-op.
The people of London went down to stand next to the Cenotaph. That was a sign of solidarity against Nazism. That was a sign of solidarity with Israel.
Nobody is helping the Palestinians. Iran, Turkey and the other Muslim dictators are at a loss of what to do. They give empty speeches and get their photo op. Nobody does anything good like demand Hamas release the hostages. Without making that move, I don’t think the world views the Muslim world with much empathy.
The Muslim world sees Gaza as “all about them”. The easiest way to negate the bad press the Muslim world has attracted is for leaders of the Muslim world to call for the unconditional release of the Israeli hostages. We all know that is not going to happen. That means there is no effective leadership in the Muslim world. Granted, MSM will spin this but everyone with a few brain cells knows what is going on.
I think the most effective way forward is to simply starve them (Hamas) out. Gaza has never had an economy or a work ethic. The focal point of all the coordinated Pro-Hamas rallies to get some non-muslim to do something. Nobody is going to step forward and deliver proper government services to the Palestinians. To do so would be to invite the wrath of the Palestinians. They are a people of low IQ. They want to perpetuate their victimhood so they don’t have to compete in the real world. To compete and come up short causes one to look inward at ways to improve themselves. That is not the Palestinian way.
I think it is important to limit the losses to the Israelis. I expect there to be many flip-flops going forward in actions to save the hostages. Every time Hamas flip-flops, that shows another reason to plant more of them in the ground. Hamas are barbaric, savage, and sub-human. To see them any other way is to put blinders over your eyes.
It is a difficult situation but I believe time is on your side. God tests those he loves. I believe God abandons those who abandon him.

I cannot imagine over 1600 muslims donating to one entity that does not give them a direct benefit. They would never donate (en mass) to an entity that benefits all of mankind. Muslims don’t think that way. That is not the way “they play the hand they have been dealt”.
Simply explain that there are no good sources of information concerning the number of civilian casualties in Gaza. The only current source is Hamas, and we know that they are not credible. I do not know of a credible source, and so it is unreasonable to cast blame at this time. We must wait for the fog of war to end and trust that the Israelis, who have been remarkably restrained through rocket attacks on their own civilian areas, will keep doing the right thing. Would you rather trust the savages who rape and pillage?

David, Re. the End Times, and we are definitely very close to ‘the End of the Age’, God says, partly via the II Book of Thessalonians, and other places , that it is a time when ‘good is bad and bad is good’. Also that people in general will very sinful.

Regarding your question…societies have reached their breaking points as have the people on an individual level. When you have people like Hamas who are totally godless, who follow a satanic force. There isn’t any common ground between you and them. None.

Just today I listened to a well known Christian pastor. His name is Max Lucado. He spoke to this issue and based his answer with full conviction on the Hebrew Scriptures. He said G_d repeatedly commanded the Hebrews to route out certain peoples in Canaan. G_d did not distinguish between males and females nor children and adults. All were to be eliminated.
People like Piers and so many others are sympathizers with evil although they pretend to do so for their self-aggrandizing, “humanitarian-based”, holier-than-thou comment. In some ways these people are worse than Hamas because to some degree such people know the difference between good and evil but do not choose the right choice when it is a difficult choice to make; hence, choosing a choice that again, in time, results in evil.
The answer to your question is repeatedly shown in the Hebrew Scripture. When the Hebrew didn’t route out all the Canaanite tribes, it was nothing but ultimate trouble for the Hebrews. So too now. Israel must route out Hamas – totally.
You (and I) have nothing in common with people who choose evil, even though it might be to a lesser degree than Hamas.
In my Bible, New Testament, in Revelation 3:15-16 is the verse that also address this issue. God would rather have a on fire/hot believer or a cold/nonbeliever, but God spews the lukewarm believer out of His mouth. God has no use for the lukewarm believer doing His work who stands for nothing. This is why I have a rough time relating to lukewarm believers.
You and I and many others cannot nor should we have common ground with those who are evil or even those who halfway supports evil by the pretense of doing good. It’s very difficult to deal with it. I thought the interviewer did the best job of anyone I have seen. He just very calmly, but confidently and very firmly spoke truth and never wavered. I no longer think it’s a matter of convincing the other person, like Piers; it’s about keeping strong in our belief and not letting the enemies arrows pierce our armor.

1st. To those who responded so warmly on the November Ponderings thread, to my personal story of Ava’s plight, thank you, from the deepest parts of my heart. It appears some are still responding to it, so while I want to write each and every one of you, I also don’t want it to turn into a continuing thread about 1 pet. My intent is to give an update if she makes it to her 17th [Father willing]. I’m so moved by all your stories of pets and faith.
2nd. Menagerie almost certainly doesn’t need any ideas for ‘Threads’. With so much going on in the world, the Daily Open & the Presidential are certainly enough. But a thought struck me. If Sundance is gone for a bit longer [He deserves any and all time he needs!], we might benefit from a reference thread about products that have exceeded expectations. Rarely does anything live up to it’s marketed hype, but sometimes something stands out, and we want to share. Sort of like, but completely different from Menagerie’s ‘Holiday Recipies’ threads. If not a thread that is single themed, this venue is more than sufficient. I’ll start:
I have 4 products from life experience that meet that criteria; Way above expected performance! I’ll only list 1 here.
Short story; Big snow storm, time to load plow onto truck, 300 lbs +/-, pull truck up close, deep snow, so get out to micro adjust position of plow. Plant feet, get ready, heave! Blade frozen to ground, did not budge, so something had to. 2 disks, lower back.
Fast forward. Much later, months of enduring pain, making adjustments to life… Nothing works, foam roller pads on ground, stretching, massage, OTC drugs. Bite the bullet, visit MD, sent to specialist, surgery only option. Maybe for you! I’ll wait.

I’ve told many this story, loaned my table to friends and family, they all feel ‘taller’ when they get off, and they all spray accolades. Can’t say enough about this. This unlimited freedom provoked the Jews – not the poor but the rich and powerful.
Later, I wrote to Jesus requesting an interview with Him at the Praetorium. He came. When the Nazarene made His appearance I was having my morning walk and as I faced Him my feet seemed fastened with an iron hand to the marble pavement and I trembled in every limb as a guilty culprit, though He was calm. For some time I stood admiring this extraordinary man. There was nothing in Him that was repelling, nor in His character, yet I felt awed in His presence. I elevated Him far above the philosophers and teachers of His day. All in all, He made a deep impression upon me and everyone because of His kindness, simplicity, humility and love.
He could convert water into wine; He could change death into life, disease into health; He could calm the seas, still the storms, call up fish with a silver coin in it’s mouth. I say if He could do all these things, which He did and many more, as the Jews all testify, and it was doing these things that created this enmity against Him — He was not charged with criminal offenses, nor of wrongdoing any individual in person, and all these facts are known to thousands, as well by His foes as by His friends — I am almost ready to say, as did Manlius at the cross, “Truly this was the Son of God.”
Now, noble Sovereign, this is as near the facts in the case as I can arrive.

One of the finest tests of a good doctor is one who can say, “I don’t know” and who understands that information is not static, and who is willing to not shut the door on the possibility of anything which will help a patient recover My own surgeon dad knew this. He said to me once that this year’s medical books will be out of date to some degree next year, and even more so the next, and so on. So he participated in continuing using education his whole career.
The second mark of an ethical doctor is the willingness to say to a patient, “I have given you the best professional advice that I am able to give to you. If you wish to consult someone else for a second opinion, please, by all means do so.”

My situation has not improved, infact it has gotten worse. I am completely out of the loop now as far as trying to get Bill into a proper burial, in fact I am now wanted by the police for questioning concerning his death. I have had to give up my two best friends (my dogs) because it is impossible to find a hotel that will take them in here. I swallowed my pride and called and asked my brother for $help but he refused because of our political differences. I am living one day at a time, I have a couple of good friends here who are trying to help but there are limits to what they can do for me.
That being said, thank you for the blessings and I did make it to church this morning and spent a wonderfull morning listening to a Spanish mass.
That’s just news that breaks my heart, DG. But I know yours is broken even more. I am as grieved for you as I believe it is possible to be. I am so sorry. And I am sorry that you and your brother are separated by different political views. I’ll keep my thoughts to myself, except to say my husband and his brother are the same, though I don’t understand how something like that would prevent blood from helping a brother out.

Thank you Betsy, you and JWoo and others have been a huge source of support and faith, not that I couldn’t continue on without it but it does make it easier. The lose of my dogs has been a tremendous loss but I am sure that God will help me reconnect when the time is right ( I just recently texted with the man I gave my oldest dog to, 12 years old and he has promised me that when I am ready all I need to do is ask)
I have many problems that are the direct result of some less than popular desisions I have made in the past. Most relating to not willing to being just another number in a system that doesn’t care about you expect your tax base. I have been “off the grid” for over a decade and there is a price to pay when you go against the system.

Thank you, KP. What a good idea. We have and have had several Treepers with bad back problems. I hope people with those issues read your post to decide if that appliance (I’ll call it) might just be a panacea for their pain.
I would love to have had that table gadget at one time years ago. I tried to lift a heavy box out my my car trunk and thought I actually heard a ‘ssckk’ noise in my back there was little pain at first, then over the next few hours the pain got worse and worse, and for days I couldn’t move. I could not go to work and I was the breadwinner..
I went see my doc and was in such pain getting in and out of the car, I could hardly walk. My doc treated the pain immediately with a local anesthetic and gave me some pain killers, and a few gentle exercises to do. It took weeks but I finally recovered. I have been fine re back pain ever since. Back pain is awful and you cannot move even a little bit without feeling it.
I wonder if he could sell it on Mike Lindell’s online store which is for entrepreneurs, maybe he already does.
I hear they are quite good. My son had bone on bone lower back disc problems but was able to get private surgery for it via the VA who couldn’t/wouldn’t help him. We have President Trump to thank for that. So glad yours righted itself, jb. There is no pain like it.

Quick question / request for help please.
My method for storing passwords was corrupted. I’ve been able to recover most of them but not here to CTH. My browser is remembering it but it’s not visible to me.
If I attempt to reset my password here on the site, I imagine that it will send me a email and I can handle it that way.
I do have access to that email account and the password to that account.
Is that the best and/or only way to proceed?

Israel Update:
-Today Hezbollah fired an anti tank missile at workers of the electric company and badly injured 6. Also another about 15 rockets deep into the Haifa area.
-Israel have now dropped leaflets at South Lebanon telling civilians to leave the area. Also Israel told its own citizens by the border of Lebanon to enter safe rooms.
Note: Hezbollah is pushing it really hard. Eventually Israel will have to secure this border too or no one will want to come back to their homes by this border.
This is a concerning development. Are the rockets hitting their targets in Haifa, or is the Iron Dome destroying them? Or, is this a dumb question?

Update Israel:
Hezbollah is firing rockets and anti tank missiles on our north daily. . We get people badly injured and some died. Tens of thousands or more people who had to leave their homes and are afraid to ever be back. So today the Defense Minister of the US (Austin) is calling the Israeli Defense Minister to tell him “not to do anything that will escalate to a war”.
Anger in Israel. I see comments: “Why don’t you Mr. Austin come live in one of those border towns?”
What if the Cartels in Mexico would fire missiles daily at American towns and cause a massive displacement of Americans?
Anyways, unfortunately as expected Israel is alone. The Biden Administration is a pretense.
We know they don’t represent America and most Americans know better.

The World Health Organization claims that Gaza City’s Shifa Hospital is “not functioning as a hospital anymore.”
WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus tweets that the UN body has restored communication with its contacts at the Gaza Strip’s biggest hospital, lamenting that “the situation is dire and perilous,” that the doctors are working without electricity or water and that “the number of patient fatalities has increased significantly.”
He calls for an immediate ceasefire.

Meanwhile, a Hamas official claims that five premature babies and seven critically ill patients have died in Shifa as the facility suffers fuel shortages amid intense fighting between Israeli troops and Hamas terrorists.
“We fear the toll will rise further by morning,” says Youssef Abu Rish, deputy health minister in the Hamas-run Gaza Strip. The figures issued by the terror group cannot be verified.
Israel says a major Hamas command center is located under the hospital, and its troops have been closing in on the compound while pledging to provide a safe evacuation route for civilians. The military promised to help transfer babies to safety, but has said officials have prevented this. The IDF also says it offered the hospital 300 liters of fuel, but that Hamas prevented the hospital staff from accepting it.
Shifa director Mohammad Abu Salmiya has told journalists the Israeli claims are “lies,” arguing that the 300 liters would power generators for “no more than quarter of an hour” anyway.
In my opinion, Hamas is still trying to turn all the world against Israel. The UN can’t protect them now and they need an escape because they have been surrounded and are trying to get the ‘ceasefire’ without giving up their advantage in Gaza. AND Iran is not sending in the resources to help them. by the way…Hezbollah has stepped up the attacks on Northern Israel trying to divert the forces away from Gaza. Essentially Israel has stayed true to the course and is saving the palestinian civilians from death by Hamas. #BringThemHomeNow
