I just ran for my local NY town board as a MAGA Republican and lost by a small margin.
Not only did the local GOP not help me- they sabotaged me every step of the way.
They wouldn’t endorse me and they tried to disqualify my petitions. Then they colluded with the equally corrupt “conservative” party which shouldn’t even be on the ballot, and kept me from getting that line.
Furthermore we are getting evidence that the GOP commissioners at the board of elections may have done some dirty work at their end to flip the votes. As we have discovered since 2020, there are many ways to steal an election.
I have no use for the GOP even though I am a lifelong member of the party. The only reason I keep the R is because I want to run in primaries and maybe run for office again.

I have a friend, here in a small little county in Central OK who experienced an almost identical situation as what you experienced. She lost by 2 votes! And the local GOP has undercut her at every step, gave her zero support or recognition at all.
Another acquaintance had a similar experience in running for city council. Again, volunteers pitched in to help him and door knock, print signs, etc., but nothing from the local GOP. They’ve been a hindrance rather than a help. He lost by 1 vote, went through a run-off only to lose by fewer than 5 votes.
The problem IS the GOP.

Seneca, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but in New York State, what you experienced has been going on since I was born and that’s about 7 decades ago.
I know many over my lifetime (very competent, honest, intelligent, dedicated “public servants”) who went through exactly what you have so eloquently explained.
And the cheating? Two decades ago in that very state, I witnessed it in person, every election year.
It got much worse with Motor-Voter Laws. Then it got much, much, worse when they went from paper ballot machines to election computers.
Petition time was always blatant cheating time.
I don’t know the answer, however, the only way this has any way of changing is through exposing the fraud, naming names, and practices used to cheat ; it goes on in both all parties.
New York State is notorious for blatant cheating.

Based on only a few examples recently, it is possible the next election will be even more corrupt than 2020. These frauds had no fear of being caught or punished. At least one local judge ordered a redo this time due to videos of ballot stuffing but it is only a minor blip in the corruption.
There were several videos and other clear evidence exposing the 2020 corruption but as you know, not one judge would agree to a trial.
Sadly, I’ve heard yhe same from many grassroots candidates.

To this day, I have no idea how any of my votes since 3Nov20, all cast via electronic voting machines, have been recorded for tabulation. Worse yet, for how long has this been going on?

Thing is, there were 2 donations that caught my eye, one for 5 cents, one for 10 cents.
Wondering if people aren’t f’ing with them, saying “heres what your worth, f’ers!” and also wondering if it costs the RNC more that $0.10 to process a $0.10 donation?
Sending $0.38 could be a nice FU, if they break the code, found on any telephone.

In principle it would be throwing good money away, however the amusement of it being net negative might just be worth it.
Quite a few years back, donation requests used to come with SASE [self addressed postage free (stamped) envelopes]. Whenever they came from left wing or undesired sources I used to stuff those envelopes with all manner of junk mail and heavy items and mail them back.
It sounds like these people are my kind of people. Using my past experiences, they must not use credit cards or their overall charge could be more than the donation.
The bottom line is that your target loses money processing your response.

If a MAGA Republican of any stripe becomes Chairman of the RNC — even a convert to the cause — there will be no lavish dinners, no nights on the town, and no expensive gifts for donors — because most of the GOPe elites and donors will be gone and the party will have to get by on whatever contributions the rank-and-file Republican voter base will be willing to give them. Which means the party will once again be receiving my donations after a long absence, small as they are comparatively.

Either case makes him unfit to be an RNC chair, if the goal is to take back the Republican Party.
Vivek actually does have a history with the RNC which is also the reason he can’t get the job. He exposed his buddies “the donor class.”
Vivek knows the game. The fact that fake Christian Mike Pence wrote Vivek several hand written letters tells me he is much more hip to their game than we know—they won’t elect him.

On one hand, Ronna isn’t *THAT* stupid. She knows Vivek won’t be the nominee, so she can easily say the RNC will give him no money and be proven right. Ask if she’ll say that about Trump, and then the real fireworks would start.
On the other hand, only Vivek could have said this. Why? Trump can’t say it. He’s been in the game since 2015. Remember what he said in those debates? It was clear he wasn’t supposed to say that stuff then, so any criticism from Trump here would’ve raised eyebrows based on past performance. Vivek did what Trump couldn’t here. The RNC is worthless. The GOPe is worthless. The RGA is worthless.

Yes .. thank you. Linux long overdue. I just disable this crap. The new update KB5031455 for 23H2 labelled ‘pending’ , ‘in the works’ , ‘under review’ is troublesome. On devices with multiple monitors, users will notice issues with desktop icons moving unexpectedly between monitors or other icon alignment problems when launching Copilot. Early on already disable/not using Copilot. Nor Edge .. just as with Windows 95, disable IE, used NetScape or Opera, anything to do with Google, Bing. Phone hooked up to computer etc. Never needed to.
Unfortunately, this is a global problem for most people.
I gave up MS and went to Linux 15 years ago.
Never looked back and never regretted it.

Which is why I’m going to Linux on my next clean install. The only thing I’m waiting on is my new CPU, which I think I will make my Christmas gift to myself this year.
I tried Linux Mint on my laptop and I was satisfied with the results. Now it’s time to put it on my desktop.
To all who aren’t sure about trying Linux, I encourage you to do so. It’s small enough that you can run it off a thumb drive while you test it out; no alteration to your current setup. The download and installation procedure can get a little technical, but anyone of reasonable smarts can work through it. The instructions are clear and detailed. And once you get it installed, it looks and feels a lot like Windows with only a few minor differences, so the learning curve is very small.

Namely Microsoft, and many of the other software giants that have gone greedy, imitating each other with MS Office Suite for one, with the subscription crap. No matter how good there are others as good or better in fact; either Open Source, free as well. Have never minded paying for a great program until the start the subscription crap. I have a couple of programs I paid for way back, always updated when they have one for same lifetime license. Never have OS or hardware dependant compatibility issues. Read somewhere Microsoft is trying to incorporate zip extraction. It does not know its fate as far as being another MS graveyard item upon delivery.
Good to know many more people have actually gone off Microsoft to Linux in greater numbers. I tried it way back. Was great. With better hardware tried Windows XP and was content with it upon the usual disabling and uninstalling of bloatware and the usual monopolistic crap. Up to Windows 7 voluntary upgrade. Never did 8.
Since MS forced upgrade to 10 I just sat on 7. Insecure all they want to hype; without updates. Still running a home built Win 7 while MS tried the sneaky Win 10 update. Now it’s keeping vigilant in battles with Search and Firefox upgrades. Firefox will soon be discarded just as quickly as DuckduckGo once the other alternatives are stable and working stably without any of the monopolistic BS Firefox adds on with each update. Too bad .. it was lovely till it is no more.
As for Linux, there are a few to choose from. Mint is probably easier for most new users. You can still run software used on Windows as well. But really who wants to?

From personal experience, I can corroborate that Linux is 100% adequate for nearly anything other than video games, and even there it’s not far behind (it mainly depends on what game you want to play).
There is also nearly always an answer to any problem you run into if you google hard enough, or ask a friendly nerd.

I liked Vivek’s takedown of Ronna McDaniel but it would have been better if he had repeated sundance’s more in depth comments on the priorities of the “private corporation” GOP in several articles he has written.
It was difficult skimming through the “debate” fiasco framed in the left’s viewpoint again (NBC) but Ramaswamy’s criticism of Nikki Hailey was another highlight. Nikki’s strained expression did not conceal her rage at being called a wartime profiteer.
(That is how I interpreted his Hailey condemnations–from bankruptcy to war profiteering millionaire at every opportunity.)
