Now there is a good man!
I will NEVER forget when, in the early debates leading up to the nomination for the 2016 election, Dr Carson didn’t hear his name called (the audience was too loud).
And so he stood in the wings waiting (he thought) to hear his name.
When (then) Mr Trump was called onstage, he stopped…and waited with Dr Carson while the other candidates walked straight past them…smiling, so full of themselves.
Finally as the last of the candidates took his place at the podium, Dr Carson and Mr Trump walked onto the stage together, side by side.
It was exhilarating to see it. I could have wept (silly, no?)
I always supported our President from the beginning. But that one moment defined him for me.
Always watching, always looking out for others, the least self regarding man ever to hold the office of President of the United States.
I am sure Dr Carson appreciated that genuine gesture. He knows our President’s heart…
And no doubt is grateful to return kindness for kindness.

I know a lot of people favoured Ted Cruz.

He understands perseverance and dedication while being able to relate to poverty. I did not see what you described but I do know that Trump knows how to work the crowd…and he also knows a little about ‘performance’ tactics…he has that experience too…No you are not silly…because they, the puffed up politicians gave Trump and Carson the opportunity…like it was almost Divine intervention…

They had a requirement of 20% in the most recent polling, and there was some confusion about whether G. Bush qualified, or was just under the threashold.
So, he showed up thinking he was in.
It would have been advantageous to keep his mouth shut, and have Bush excluded from the debate, but Ronnie just didn’t think it was right, and basically threatened to walk out (and as the front runner, end the debate) unless they put Bush in.
Of coarse, Bush is BOO!, but like the moment with DJT and Dr. Carson, it shows the CHARACHTER, decency and goodness of Reagan.
The difference being, Donald Trump bestowed deference and decency to a man worthy of receiving it in Dr. Carson – while Ronald Reagan wasted his on a VICIOUS SNAKE!

Was his name actually called Betsy? I always thought that the announcer skipped right over him and called the next candidate…and EVERY one of them walked past, with a shrug, until Donald Trump simply STOPPED and waited for Dr. Carson to walk out WITH him. That moment spoke volumes to me, as I’m sure it did to many others who saw it.

I heard it and wondered why he hadn’t walked out. But that audience was so loud with their cheering for whom I can’t remember.
I also remember feeling so uncomfortable for Dr Carson and the position he was in. So that President Trump stopped and waited him seemed to be a saving grace for the accomplished honourable man that Dr Carson is.

I remember in one of the debates Dr. Ben Carson read The Rules for Radicals. He was always looked over in the debates but finally got his chance and he read that. First time I had ever heard of such a thing. He certainly opened my eyes.

“Decent” Such an underutilized word – something that people used to understand and aspire to be…not famous, not flashy, not powerful nor prideful…my father, God rest his soul, was a “decent” man and it is only now that he is gone that I realize how few like him are left. (Although I did marry one and raise two more of them.)
But yes, Dr. Carson is definitely a decent man and I think Donald Trump should look very carefully at him as a VP possibility. (He would certainly be a huge improvement over Judas Pence – there is NOTHING decent about him at all!)
At least Pence is on his way to the dustbin of history.
But the damage is already done when he helped steal the 2020 election by refusing to do his job and send the electors back to the state legislatures of the “swing” states to decide.
Remember the debate where Ben Carson was supposed to be introduced to the stage but the moderator skipped his name and introduced Trump? Trump did not take the stage but waited in the wings. They went on to announce the fellow after Trump who passed the two by.
Trump remained in the wings with Carson until they realized what happened and called him.
That’s what good people do. I’m sure Carson never forgot that.
And in the meantime at least 2 other candidates waltzed past Trump and Carson as they stood there politely waiting to proceed.
That was something else and said a lot about ALL of them, good and bad.
A good man. He was not the right fit for housing though. I would prefer that he provide President Trump with health related advisor type capacity. Someone who could be there to have private conversations with President Trump and help him learned from some of the not so positive things that happened that got placed on President Trump to blame. I think Ben Carson could help him understand how the world of “medicine” actually work…to help him prepare his policies about things like
gene therapy mRNA ….unproven and unsafe…but more importantly that the federal goverment must show restraint and be prohibitive about how the likes of CDC, NIH, FDA and Health Secretary can influence public policy. Should not he the federal government of agencies trying to manipulate people and concealing agenda. That must end. I think Ben Carson could help provide the President with some people and idea about how to prepare and put into place policies that actually have executive authority behind it. We can’t wait for congress to get it”s shit together. The President needs to end the US involvement in creating bioweapons. Ben Carson could be there to lend his professional reputation to help deliver that agenda and speak about it publicly. It would be a great way to use someone like Ben Carson. Housing is not how to best use Ben Carson.

I thought Housing was a strange place for him, but in the end, he did a great job. He grew up in government housing, he knew that things needed to be changed. Would he have been a better fit at the FDA or NIH, possibly, but he gets credit for a job well done in HUD.
Considering how Dr. Carson grew up I’m guessing he wanted the HUD position to improve that disaster of a program.
Once he was appointed I suspect there was no way to move him to Health Secretary and remove the scum controlling the PLANDEMIC.
If we’re lucky he’ll get a second chance but I ain’t holding my breath.

I think Dr. Carson chose HUD. If I remember correctly he was given a choice of positions and he chose HUD because he grew up in public housing and wanted to do something other than medicine.
Carson was a vital part of reaching out to communities in Trump’s efforts to bring business back to impoverished communities as head of HUD. Carson, the head of SBA, Ivanka were all THERE. But I agree, Carson’s talents would be very useful almost ANYWHERE & especially as an advisor to Pres. Trump.
I think he chose Dr Carson for that position because Dr Carson had lived in those.

What took him so long?
My guess is Carson & Trump were waiting for optimal timing for the endorsement. They probably spread out the endorsements at different key points during the campaign to maximize impact and momentum.

One of the highlights of my life was to meet this great human being and have him sign all our books by and about him while the hall monitor screamed for us to move along. He and Candy were more than gracious. Dr. Carson was speaker at a Prolife dinner.
I once had the honor of sharing a quiet meal with Dr. Carson and his charming wife. They are two genuinely decent human beings. I am very grateful that they made it out of DC with their souls intact.
OK, Carson is a great guy but I wouldn’t want him anywhere near the presidency. We need about 5 mean mofo’s back to back in the presidency until the deep state is beat into pulp.

My neighbor’s grandson is a “Carson baby”. As a very young child he had some sort of infection in the brain, and surgery was the only option. The family was told the probable side effect of the surgery was either blindness or deafness; not doing anything would result in the child’s death.
Dr. Carson removed the top of the skull like a cap, and did what was needed to fix the problem. The skull “cap” quickly knitted back on [uh, don’t try this at home…]. That little kid is a happy, well adjusted young man in his mid twenties and is stone deaf. The state school for the deaf prepared him well, and Ben Carson gave him the chance.
You see this guy in political mode, but never hear about some of his “former life”. I’m sure there are hundreds/thousands of kids alive today who crossed paths with Dr. Carson. I’d have to agree he is a good man.

Prior to Dr. Carson running for President, we had dinner with him, at the same table and right next to him,
for a pro life fund raiser at our kids Christian school. He could come nearly every year. Dr. Carson is an amazing man. He truly is the REAL DEAL. He’s kind, soft spoken, calm and totally sincere. He truly is a treasure. He wrote our daughter an incredible letter of sound advice. We framed it. It was not a form letter and he signed it. We were so impressed at how he cares about individuals and skin color makes no difference to him.
I am so pleased to hear this. He tends to keep on the side lines but will step up. He sees what’s going on with Trump and how hideous it is. I expected him to come out for Trump and the sooner the better.
