Keep this list handy. These are the twenty Republicans who are stealth Democrats and voted against Jim Jordan. Yes, there are some surprises, including John James of Michigan.
The 20 who voted against Jordan are: Tony Gonzales (TX), Kay Granger (TX), Mario Diaz Balart (FL), Mike Kelly (PA), John Rutherford (FL), Mike Simpson (Idaho) Steve Womack (Arkansas), Lori Chavez DeRemer (OR), Don Bacon (NE), Carlos Gimenez (FL), Jennifer Kiggans (VA), Mike Lawler (NY), Doug LaMalfa (CA), Anthony D’Espositio (NY), Andrew Garbarino (NY), Nick LaLota (NY), Jake Ellzey (TX), Ken Buck (CO), John James (MI), Victoria Spartz (IN).
Accept things as they are, not as we would pretend them to be.
(Via Politico) – The Ohio Republican failed to get the 217 votes he needed to clinch the gavel during Tuesday’s first ballot, with 20 GOP votes against him. The House recessed immediately after the vote concluded, and it’s unclear when a second ballot will occur.
Some lawmakers aren’t optimistic it will happen anytime soon, with Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) saying confidently to reporters as he exited the floor: “Have a good evening everyone.”
The pause will allow Jordan to meet with some of the 20 Republican holdouts to try and bring them into his camp before voting again. Recessing before continuing on to a second ballot will allow sorely divided Republicans to regroup in private away from the House floor and potentially consider their strategy.
Many Jordan allies had predicted it could take multiple ballots, but it’s unclear if they’ll be able to flip enough holdouts in subsequent votes. (read more)
It is absolutely critical that we know who will align against President Trump in 2024. This list of 20 House “Republicans” should serve as a generally good outline to remember.

Very surprised LaMalfa is included. He’s from a deep red area of CA(yes, they exist).
I’m shocked ,actually. His office said he will be voting for Jordan in the next round.
so, he just needed to have this little hissy fit before he does the right thing? What a weasel. At least he’s going to do the right thing in the next round.
Or, he received a legislative promise that he was after. Might have even been something legitimate and needed for his district.
Lots of small stuff that would have been folded into that omnibus bill now have to find a new pathway.
I wouldn’t count on it.
Good to hear. I couldn’t get through to local office and VM was full.
I was shocked too, but after seeing it was for McCarthy I figured it was temporary.
As a long-time former resident of McClintock’s district, I noticed LaMalfa often voted the same as McClintock. Apparently not this time. But I’m very surprised that McClintock folded on his resistance to Jordan — he was the one who tried to bring back McCarthy for a vote. McClintock has been getting worse every year.
I hear there’s now 20 extra seats on AF1 should they want to join their hero tomorrow for a trip to the Holy Land.
First ballot.
Some (hopefully most!) are “making a statement.”
Should get closer on the next round. Could take awhile if these self important “representatives of thecpeople” want more attention.
With the opposing votes – is it a question of principle or prostitution ( meaning vote comes for a price ) ?
I believe it is the latter – they will sell their vote conditionally.
With RINOs it is ALWAYS pro$titution. Country Club RepubliCONS have been the veritable definition of political whoring for decades. Unfortunately the anti-constitutional CommieCrats have driven us towards having to vote the corrupt RINOs back into office during the same time period if only to oppose (delay) the encroachment of communism by the rabid leftists.
But President Trump broke that stalemate in 2016 and has demonstrated the globally positive impact of having and implementing a better U.S. political agenda than either faction of the Uniparty has ever offered in the past 50 years
Tony Gonzales from Texas is RINO, he is a pile of Poo. Kay Granger from Fort Worth, not exactly a bastion of conservationism as it once was, she has been re-elected since 1997. Jake Elzzey is new and is up for re-election. Mario-Diaz-Balart is a former Democrat. He converted in 1985, I am guessing he has switched again.
In Dallas so I called (3) Grainger, Tony G and Ellzy’s DC offices. Everyone’s got the VM on, but they promised to get back to me. Hope they have called in all the unpaid ‘Interns’ to return calls from Taxpayers in their state & districts. I did get S. Texas Vincente Gonzalez’ office to answer, nice staffer said he was a democrat & he voted for Jeffries. Asked her if the voters in Brownsville were happy with the current border surge of millions of illegals and fentanyl & the like, she was real pleasant and referred me to their webpage, couldn’t offer personal insight….
Grainger voted for Scalise if I heard correctly.
Andrew Garbarino is a clone of retired RINO congressman Peter King. Probably advises Andy how to vote.
Right, and downstate voters keep voting him and the others in office. Fugittaboutit.
I called Garbarino’s office after the vote, the retort I received, “I am not familiar with the Congressman’s position, I haven’t spoken to him today, he is on the House Floor”. He needs to be primaried.
I live in the First CD and was surprised that my guy joined your guy to vote against Jordan. Must be something in the water here on the Island. LaLota should look over his shoulder….MAGA is strong here in Suffolk and a primary might make him appreciate the fact that he’s a freshman with no guarantees of being a sophomore congresscritter.
Maybe he should talk with democrats. At least their not pretending to be republicans. Fakery at its finest.
not their but they’re sorry about that
I’m from Michigan. The James vote is no surprise to me.
Yep, a friend and I agreed when he was running that it would take him about 1 minute to drop his RINO mask.
1 minute after elected…
What? I thought he was a good guy?
Where are the reports telling us these things?
More info please, Bugsdaddy. I thought James was supposed to be one of the good guys.
Tell me about him! They all sound so good before being elected, then they turn to a pile of dung.
#MeToo ! I warned as many people as I could about James, both before his senate bid AND his house bid. I smelled uni-party on him from the very beginning.
With the influence Worldwide of Social Media coverage, aren’t some of them making very poor career decisions.
They are obeying their paymasters…
With their guaranteed retirement plans, they have no fear of US, or even of leaving office.
Anyone think Ryan had to twust arms, to get 40 House members to retire?
And, how about an episofe of “WHERE are they, NOW?”
No doubt collecting pension from Govt. with healthcare, AND working as lobbyists, sitting on Corporate boards, Guest lecturers at Universities, or the ever popular ghost written book,..in other words, cashing in.
NOBODY pays any attention to what former Congress or Senate do,..
Well, some people DO pay some attention to those former Congress members…
But NOBODY does anything about it….

slime-Slime-slime
Buck found his way to CNN
Playing silly games to get back at someone. How stupid one must be to fool around with the tenuous threads holding our whole Country together?
so what buck is really saying is that he’s a 15 year old mean girl?
That sums it up nicely. It also fits a few other RINO’s.
Typical Republican in Colorado.
This is the poster boy for GOPe hypocrisy.
Voted to vacate the Chair and remove McCarthy THEN waffles on Jordan as replacement.
Votes for Emmer and wasn’t included in the original lists of against Jordan.
Who is Pulling Ken Buck’s strings?
What kind of Conservative gets face time on CNN?
Wait, CNN is mouthpiece for what three letter agency?
Treepers get mad at me when I ask this, but how much money did you donate last year?
If you are not donating $1,000 per year, then you are not doing your duty as a citizen.
And yes, I give much more.
Well, I live on Social Security and that’s all, so I don’t HAVE $1,000 to donate every year. That does NOT mean I’m not just as loyal a US citizen as you are. Don’t be pointing fingers. You can give some of your “much more” in my name, ok?
Frankly, I’d rather flush it down the toilet. Stop virtue signaling.
Never liked Simpson of Idaho when I lived there. He’s too much of a RINO.
Idaho is turning blue due to influx of Californians. Boise and Meridian have Democrat mayors.
I agree.
CA strategy. 20M excess population, evenly spread across 10 western states, and voila 20 Blue Senators.
The holdouts do seem to imply that as Speaker Jim Jordan isn’t going to be a Uniparty lapdog. At least – not to the Uniparty’s full satisfaction.
Scalise got 7 votes and McCarthy got 6. Since both of them voted for Jordan, chances are these votes will switch to him. That would put him at 213 and he would need 4 more. There are some first round votes where people make symbolic votes. I think Jordan gets there in the end.
Well, those who symbolized their vote just non-symbolically showed they need vacated from their positions.
What I want to know is what did Senator McConnell promise them?
They don’t know, they asked him but McConnell just froze and hasn’t moved. It’s been 30 minutes
Ol’ Root & Branch will get back to them….right after they repeal Obamacare….
I wonder if the promised WW3 in Ukraine, and now even Gaza allows those Russian scramjet missiles to strike the Lower 48. Or will it be Chinese, Iranian and/or Russkie sleeper cells that are crossing the border?
Surely they have Sub-lauched versions. Federal City w/b a different place if the Replacements have t/b brought in to resume the Scrimmage after they go out on Strike.
@Sundance
Trump is terrible with personnel. He’s like Jerry Jones with the Dallas Cowboys. The only truly great picks Trump made were Navarro and Grenell.
If he’s for Jordan the odds are 98-2 it’s a bad choice.
really?
I like Stephen Miller.
PDJT does as well. The 2 mentioned above were cabinet positions.
Uh…..yeah. You missed the point entirely.
He’s also good. 97-3 then.
Robert Lighthizer, Trump’s trade rep !
I don’t think Navarro is a fan. Navarro is the only one I trust completely in that bunch.
But let’s call it 96-4. Still not good.
Trump thinks flattery will bring loyalty and competence. It didn’t then and it won’t now.
Wilbur Ross was very good.
Read Navarro’s book and you will see Lighthizer was an incredible saboteur to Trump’s agenda.
In case you aren’t aware, President Trump has to play with the hand dealt to him. He wasn’t given a free pass to have the people he might have wanted. Further, be aware that we don’t have many MAGA people in power for him to choose from now.
And yet his record makes him one of the greatest presidents ever. Suggest you maybe do some deeper reading before you throw out accusations you consider to be facts.
You may be unhappy that President Trump did not beat the globalists in every way, but that would be a childish expectation and you likely don’t want people to make that accusation about you.
If you want to help, figure out what you can do to support our President who is giving it his all.
We loved the Wilburine here..
Wilbur Ross was excellent.
Senate confirms.
They’re doing another Live Vote on Cspan1
Some a$$ from NYS just voted for Zeldin
In the “D’s” DeEsposito? Maybe?
“May the best person win.”
This is literally the first time in history that the House fired(!) its Speaker. May it not be the last. And may the Senate do it, too.
Make the best of this historic opportunity. Then, repeat it as the new normal.
If everyone in a Legislature is happy and agreeable and chummy with each other, then they’re not representing their constituents: they’re working for themselves. 🤡
Good lawmaking has been described as “a civilized fist-fight.” So be it.
I’ve always said to peeps I know that John James (MI) is a RIW (Rino In Waiting)
🎯
He’s a company man the way Colin Powell was.
He’s been a RINO all along, no wait.
As a naturalized citizen, married to another natural citizen, who love this Nation, I am disgusted by elected officials who are conflicted because of dual citizenships. I recall having to renounce any and all other citizenships, as I took my oath to the US.
Victoria Spartz can go f herself.
I called and emailed her. Said she was elected to represent us. Not herself.
I did the same, KCMarcyMc.
Thank you!! Strength in numbers. I hope lots of her constituents do as well!
I spoke to really nice guy in her Indiana office.
That’s what I’m talking about !
I just called De Remer’s office. Technically she’s next door but I do work in her district. This is her first term. The lefties in Bend and Corvallis hate her but she has a large contingency of conservatives in her district as well which is how she got elected. For once Bentz made the right choice.
What we have here is a coalition of Swamp Republicans, RINO’s, and Never Trumpers who won’t allow Jordan the Speakership precisely because of his association with Pres. Trump. They would rather give it to a Democrat than Jordan.
By doing so they are selling out the WHOLE Country to Klaus Schwab and Bill Gates.
I think they are all Democrats.
“Most Republicans on Capitol Hill are really Democrats, but NO Democrats on Capitol Hill are really Republicans”.
– Dan Bongino
Fine. Let them. Shine the light on them. Rip off the bandaid..
Not that it helps, but at least we are discovering whom the utterly corrupt are.
I guess that would be the silver lining.
Just lit up Rutherford again.
He just voted for Scalise, again.
Complete A$$.
We gotta get somebody GOOD to run against him.
aaarghh… I just realized I’m watching the 1st vote from earlier today.
Thought this was a Cspan Live 2nd vote.
So….we shall see what happens w/ Ruth and the rest of ’em, later.
They cannot beat President Trump far and square. They know they cannot outright steal the election.
So, what do they do?
They destroy the GOP so no one will vote for the sorry spectacle known as the Grand Old Party.
And, in the process. Destroy our lives.
You can look at this vote as a “win”, too. There is still no Speaker of the House to negotiate with this criminal regime.
I guess Sundance will have to develop another wanted poster and X them out as they are primaried or retire!
Some of this is just sick gamesmanship. They want to send a message that Jordan is not more popular or supported more than McCarthy. Gamesmanship is one of the things that keeps politicians so dirty.
They play games to get concessions, bribes, positions, and power.
Granger, from Ft Worth, is just too deep in the Uniparty, as well.
I called Kelley’s office in PA. Got right through.
The big surprise was John James. He was supported by Trump family. Don Jr and Kimberly Guilford campaigned hard for him and Don Jr fundraisers for him.
Don Jr said, in the past, to ignore James’ little disagreements with Trump and that he was for the Trump agenda all the way.
Big disappointment. He seems to be on the wrong side.
Somebody gave him more money
Waiting with great anticipation for the “traitor” label to be applied to these 20 along with the other “highly warranted” media/political demonization, especially given McCarthy’s endorsement of Jordan.
You know, because a single digit percentage of the republicans in Congress has no business holding up the will of the vast majority. Their completely inexcusable anti-American stance makes them enemies of democracy, right? Right? 🧐
In wild Wyoming county without 12 residents to make a jury..
This is ACTUAL chaos. Some of these people have endorsed Trump for 2024–Mike Kelly, Carlos Gimenez, John James… Why would they oppose his endorsed choice for Speaker of the House?
Politics makes strange bedfellows, ..and while in this situation it is NOT a case of “the enemy of my enemy” I am beyond highly sceptical that Jordan will be significantly, substantially or fundamentally different than Kevin, and believe these 20 opposing him are only doing so to establish his bono fides (false) as the “MAGA Speaker”.
Can almost hear him being intro’d as “Americas Speaker, from the free State of Ohio,..”
If I am wrong, I will gleefully aknowledge it, in say 2 months, when Jordan has released the J6 tapes, established regular order on bills, defunded the FBI and DOJ, Impeached majorkas and several Judges, ….in short DONE SOMETHING with the awsome POWER available to a Speaker.
But, I ain’t holding my breath, Jordan is a swamp creature, and has already shown his true nature.
Kay Granger already has a MAGA primary challenger. Polling is not in her favor. Perhaps some of these people think they have nothing to lose if they light it on fire on their way out.
Stuff like this makes me nervous. The killers of our nation will use it as an excuse to do the deed. Never let a good crisis come to waste or something like that. Poor people they will mourn. They so need our help.
Just heard Jiminez interviewed–said he voted no for Jordan on the first ballot, doesn’t like the “tactics” and it said by Trey Gowdy and the interviewer that they are hearing the “no’s” are pissed off not because Jordan himself has used strong-armed tactics but his supporters have.
I take that to mean the No’s are pissed at all of Bannon’s minions and at all of MAGA.
The calls they’ve gotten are pissing them off
Good.
I have taken to telling them they are evidently supporters of Hamas.
And the Treeper minions. 😉
Typical childish temper tantrum of the republican quislings. Has zero to do with McCarthy, since he endorsed Jordan. Certainly not thinking of the American public. We want Jordon too. Just “boo hoo we can play the stall game too.” Primary them all, regardless of their eventual vote.
John James business is moving companies to China. So all the success you hear about him as a businessman come at the expense of the country. No surprise there
I think people should not make these statements in a blanket fashion.
The economic situation, which has been surgically set up, makes hard for businesses to operate competitively in a lot of segments by design of corrupt politicians.
People who are struggling have to chase the cheaper goods and services and businesses with higher domestic operating expenses, salaries and benefits just struggle to compete.
I don’t have specific details on James’ business so I can’t comment.
If people truly understood the dynamics, even struggling poor people would sacrifice to make sure the dollars went to companies that generate tax dollars and reinvest in American communities.
You don’t think I understand this? Is that you, Mish?
How close are we to having our professional Republicans become the New Whig Party?
In my opinion a split hair away.
I just found out our Congressman Gus Bilirakis of Florida was the only absent member during today’s vote. Representative Bilirakis’ mother-in-law died and he was at her funeral. I hope Bilirakis returns to DC soon so he can vote for Jim Jordan.
Read somewhere that he is planning to return later today and will be voting for Jordan when they have the next vote.
I’m more concerned that there’s something profitable for these 20 which is either still not concluded, or is in the works and best accomplished while the House is leaderless.
We know who never lets a crisis go to waste. For the communistic and their useful corrupt capitalists, they have surely been identifying the unique opportunities this situation offers.
john james, isnt he that magnificent black republican we just had to have in congress. figures
Hopefully, he will be primaried.
He’s great at talking points.
Thank you Sundance.
Lou Dobbs posted phone numbers:
Victoria, Victoria, Victoria – your national bias is showing. She emigrated here from Ukraine to go to college in 2000 and by 2006 was a U.S. Senator, but the RINOs here in Indiana have ways of doing such things recruiting their new staff members.
Bet she’ll flip with a little side deal for the Ukraine. She’s not pursuing re-election, so her spots are showing.
Just lit up her office and told her that her “bias” was showing. Asked WHY she is not supporting Jordan and appearing to not support Trump when we are involved in a proxy war with Ukraine that we should have never been in, or started, in the first place. Asked her who she was protecting?
I’m finding out a LOT about how the Republican (rino) party is being run here. They are being exposed too!
Oh… I got stories. My participation with the local caucus and our officials was enlightening and, frankly, made my skin crawl. Beware of a certain Pastor to the NE who rides on the coat tails of former AG Curtis Hill. Curtis Hill brought RFK Jr here to a finite group of well-heeled Republican doners on Memorial Day weekend.
Yeah… reconcile that.
Beware of all of those within that vast circle. I saw some things. My vote is going to Mike Braun for Governor and I just heard that Paige Miller was making a play for the Indiana DOE under a Jamie Reitenour governorship. I’m not voting for Jamie, for sure, but I desperately want Paige Miller in the DOE leadership. That would make some massive RepubliCON and DemonRAT heads explode. Paige is affiliated with Purple for Parents but P4P is misguided in thinking Rokita is an advocate. Rokita is just more of the same old, smelly RINO.
I emailed my congressman (Don Bacon) about this. He usually responds, so we’ll see.
I am confused not that long ago (Oct 4th) I read a post here about having lost hope for Jim Jordan, and him beng a Guardian for Kevin McCarthy:
So are we at the ‘he’s the least worst option’ or is he an actual player on the MAGA team??
Yep, that’s exactly where we are – the least worst option…
Least worst.
I was rather shocked regarding Buck and John James…
Ken Buck is pretending not to know many things. He flits from one whim to another at the slightest criticism.
Is Buck a mental case? I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a more erratic elected official ever.
I’m surprised about Victoria Spartz after that rant she went on.. I think I saw that rant here?
NHnative,
Haven’t seen you around here, so forgive me if you have been. Victoria is conducting the bait-and-switch routine, which our politicians in Indiana have perfected. It goes like this:
1) Claim to be conservative
2) Express outrage and get some good sound bites on media
3) Introduce legislation to protect your constituents for public appearances
4) Modify that legislation in committee to actually attack the very people the legislation was originally supposed to protect, however do it in secret so the public doesn’t know you did it, and are still cheering for you and your initial chivalry
5) Let the clock run out for the legislative session, let the legislation die in committee, or even vote against said legislation thereby wasting all efforts and never doing a gosh darn thing
6) The public is none the wiser of your true self because they are still stuck at #2 and see you as chivalrous
No, her solidarity is to her native country of Ukraine. I thought she was a warrior on our side, but the more I see of her and know of her here, the more I think she’s a useful RINO stooge. She’s not running for re-election for her seat, however I expect to see her resurface locally to aspire to other positions. She’s posturing… a lot.
I think the point is to hold Jordan to promises that the actual citizens want to happen, like what they did with McCarthy. For example: border wall and enforcement, take the freebies away from the illegals, deport many of them, make a budget, and reduced spending each year, term limits, etc., etc. What Gaetz and the Freedom Caucus did was to show how to do something good for a change.
Called Bucks office and told him to do his job or get bucked. I’m sure I’m on a list for my 1A rights. FJB & FKB
Kay Granger ,Texas ,just lost two Republican votes from my household. Tried phoning but just not able to get though or leave a message. Quite amazing to watch the Republican Party Commit Political Seppuku in real time?
Just managed to get through to her Fort Worth offices and informed them that Congresswoman Kay Granger sure ain’t getting our votes if she doesn’t vote for Jim ?
Support John O’Shea for Kay’s seat in the primary… He seems great. He’s been on ‘Inside The Numbers’ (Rich Baris) many times and seems to “get it”.
David Giglio in California’s 13th really needs to get in as well. He’s the real deal.
Thanks, I will give him a look see, unfortunately the current Republican Rino’s are driving folk away from the party?
