It doesn’t matter anymore. I think almost 15 years ago I noticed that not they are tracking you by your IP address. Cookie and cache maybe still used for finer controls but in terms of your preferences or past history – it doesn’t matter.
I noticed this 15 years ago when my wife would surf youtube and then when I cleared the history/cookies etc. in the browser and start youtube it will reset in terms of offerings or preferences to watch videos – everything would be reset. Then it started happening that even after clearing history / etc. the youtube would still show the kind of videos that were watched in the past.
If you notice – your Gmail, etc. is now logging your IP address in terms of your last login.
Just set your computer to do those tasks automatically. Easy to do, just set it to delete those files when you turn off your computer. I also unplug my computer from the web before I shut it off, that way I do not have the data upload to the mother ship happening. It make shut down and restart go a lot faster.
It also seems to help avoid all the pesky updates. Right, who is updating whom?
