He can see limited utility for some electric vehicles for very limited purposes, but no forcing it.

I have had a ford cmax for 10 years – Nothing ever went wrong with it yet – 150.000 basic tune up stuff – brakes – replaced the main battery (just like a car battery to start it) not the motor batteries – I really can’t complain – don’t have to charge it with a plug either it charges the batteries when the brake is applied…. close to 50 MPG to this day.
We have a Camry hybrid that got our son 54 mpg while attending college the last four years in Cali. It cost us less than $2000 more than a gas-only hybrid, which paid for itself in 1.5 years in expensive CA. In the rest of the years it more than paid for a new battery, though the battery is under full warranty for 5 more years. Never a mechanical issue. Excellent daily driver. And it’s kept it’s value.
I had a 2005 Prius. Ran for 155K no problems. Brother in Law bought it and decided to replace the hybrid battery at 200K. Was still working but didn’t hold charge as long as originally. Spent $1,800 for a rejuvenated/reconditioned battery that came with with a warranty. That was 20K miles ago…still runs like new.. I see the price is up about $200 over what he paid over a year ago.

At current gas prices that $2K will be recovered after about 50 tanks of gas.
Serious question— do the hybrids have the same problem with igniting in garages and don’t they suffer from the same issue on the horizon for all-Electric Vehicles that there will not be enough “rare earth mineralsl” to meet demand? And do little children in those countries do the mining or is that not true?
It’s all still so, just a smaller battery.
Priuses though have a better safety record than Teslas in the self-oblivion sense.
Any of them subject to salt water is a time bomb though.

I have had my ford Cmax hybrid for 11 years now…. It charges when the brakes are applied – and the gas motor turns on when it needs more power to move – Never had an issue with the motor batteries the best part about owning it close to 50 MPG and oil changes are 12,000 miles….Then I use my 71 cuda 440 six pac with a hemi crashbox 4 speed…during the weekends and i need a gasoline truck to follow me–4 or 5MPG tops lol

I never had any problems with mine. It was parked in our attached garage every night for 13 years.
The high voltage batteries in a hybrid aren’t under nearly as much stress as those in an EV. Batteries heat up when high current flows through them. Hybrids don’t draw heavily on their batteries for any extended period as does an EV. The hybrid gasoline engine kicks on when the driver accelerates hard or exceeds a threshold speed which varies depending on vehicle GVWR (loaded weight) and road grade.
I have a hybrid. I get about 50 mph depending. I have gotten 69 a couple if times, have no idea why and once 73 but that was a total fluke. I have no idea how the thing works, I just know it does.
I use mine for my job of helping seniors with their homes – I just charge for parts no labor – I was using my dodge truck but it was costing me over 120 a week to drive around – I switched to the hybrid we had and it costs me 45 dollars and I fill up ever 6 weeks… tell me what would you do?

But, here’s something to think about—Electromagnetic Pulses (EMP) and anything electronic.
Three high altitude nuclear detonations over the US will probably put us in the dark ages because of the EMPs.
But, in the absence of an EMP attack, in terms of Lithium based batteries, they are built on individual cells that need to be charged and discharged with an internal controller module. That module prevents a charge over 14.8 volts from entering into the control module (similarly with a low drain from the battery), and those cells are balanced (voltage around 3.2 v each for residential batteries) by a controller built into each battery. Lead acid has the same cell structure, but lower cell voltage, and there is not as great a problem with balancing the cells because of the electochemistry that doesn’t need to be discussed. When your lead acid battery goes bad it’s usually a cell shorting out with some lead plate flakes ruining a cell. When a Lithium battery cell goes bonkers it catches on fire.
AND ALL OF THE LITHIUM CELLS THAT COME INTO THE UNITED STATES ARE BASICALLY SECOND RATE CELLS FROM CHINA. Believe that because it’s a fact.
I have about 10% of my backup power in my off-grid system as lithium Iron Phosphate batteries–the rest are lead acid. I’ve had a close lightning strike that caused a huge EMPs that totally killed a very expensive 3000W DC/AC inverter AND completely FRIED THE BATTERY MANAGEMENT BOARD IN ONE LITHIUM BATTERY. NEITHER of those components was connected to the main distribution panel in the house through the transfer panel OR THE HOUSE GROUND.
Lithium batteries are waaaaay lower in weight, and the discharge curve doesn’t “droop” as much as lead acid, but they are not to be trusted beyond your faith in the electrical management system built in CHINA. Again, most of those BMS boards are built like shit if you take the top off a LiFePO4 battery and take a look. In terms of prepping for grid down I don’t trust anything and have multiple redundant back up systems.
Do a flight check on your stuff if you are driving an electric car and keep your eyes on the volts…Weird fluctuations in voltage in your system tells you…danger.

Why the hysteria? I remember when I was driving with my 4 year old son past an A center – (the only road out of town) and there was a huge group of angry protester’s with the posters of aborted fetus’. They came right up to my car on my sons side of window with those pictures. It was terrible and traumatizing for my child. It was exposing Him to the evil. The kid that is intelligent and sensitive needed a conversation before it was developmentally appropriate. I still shudder at the ugliness of that event. They did not have love or compassion.

It is up to prolifers in the STATES to do what they need to do to their state legislatures and in the governors’ races. He gave them what they had originally said they wanted.
Single issue voters need to put up and/or shut up, and support him – cuz if we don’t get him – they will expand the supreme court and be killing babies in all sorts of ways.
They want him to say there will be a federal bill and he’s not committing to that. They will never get 2/3 vote in the Senate to pass that. It would be a lie just like Obamacare was for all those years. He told them that it was sent back to the states where it should be handled. A lot of the pro-lifers need something to fundraise on and that is why they are making new issues after Roe has been canceled.
1. You can’t advance a bill on a state matter. SC court settled that. Whoever ‘they’ are that says he want commit to a bill are deflecting and the bill has to be proposed in Congress.
2. People donating to Trump are going to donate to Trump. So, why do pro-lifers “need something to fundraise” on unless it is for themselves? And what does Trump have to do with their ability to fund raise on an issue that is a state level issue now? That doesn’t even make sense.
The sense it does make is that it’s a trap.
I still believe Zero had a hand in the SCOTUS win in order to weaponize the Zombies.
