I’ve posted it at least a hundred time over the last several years that “Local Snews” has become nothing more than down stream propaganda for their national affiliates.
Ever wonder why that “Local Snews” expanded several years ago from the traditional 30 minutes per reports (morning, noon, evening and night) to an hour and a half or two hours? It is to disseminate the “National Snews” affiliate propaganda early to people who may not take the time to watch the National “Network Snews”.
Notice and see how much local news you get in these 1 1/2 to two hour segments as opposed to narrative stories you get from all across the country. I stopped watching that crap for this reason years ago.
If there is something important is happening locally, I can scan their websites in 5 minutes or less. That way I don’t have to listen to the young, inexperienced, recent university graduate “reporters” who give dramatic descriptions of the event and run loops for effect. That also applies to the more experienced “anchors” who are nothing but partisan a**kissers for the station managers, editors and producers.
Remember, the “Snews” is a production, a show, and nothing more. Pure propaganda disguised as news while the well known anchors are hailed as local celebrities. 🙄🤡
I remember when we got the first upstart ‘independent’ station to challenge the big three back in the early 70’s, right around Watergate. They were brutalized in the local press for a good long while until suddenly it became a Fox affiliate and all that went away What’s old is new again. This past weekend I had a lot of stuff to check out so I didn’t use the self check out.
I thought going through the clerk checkout would be better. My water was to heavy for the belt. She expected me to swing the heavy items around to her then off the belt and back into my cart. She made no effort to help or to smile or to just not suck.
I’ll never go through the manned check out again. It saved ME nothing. The clerk was worthless.
Whatever happened to customer service? Why should I care if this chick has a job? Anyhow , that’s why I like self check out.
I can still remember when the business motto was – “the customer is always right”.
That certainly has gone by the wayside. I think in large part because of corporatization.
I don’t like having to make business calls anymore, as you rarely get to speak to an actual human being. Calls are automated, having to keep pressing whatever ‘menu’ number to get to whatever your concern is (if you’re lucky!). Or you get referred to the internet address, which is yet another nightmare to have to deal with.
Continuing with the dehumanizing and the loss of humanity.
Why should anyone care anymore?
It makes me sad.
We went to Home Depot last week, and the woman at the checkstand was so careful putting our purchases in the bag and making sure everything was done correctly, we complimented her. She said she was just doing the right thing.
Every place and everyone is different.
If I encounter any trouble I just walk away, sometimes to a real checker, sometimes right out the door without the stuff I was buying. Just leave it right there, sometimes with a shopping cart. I have no patience for a poorly designed user interface.
AND – they take jobs away from human cashiers.
Since the covid nonsense, I’ve noticed an increasing number of self-checkout stations – and less check-out cashiers available.
I hate it.
Depending upon the time of day, there may be NO human cashier available.
It makes me sad to think of how many cashiers may have lost jobs that they needed.
Not to mention, those self-checkouts assist in the loss of humanity.
Disgusting…..and sad.
if i am going to do cashiers job they should pay me or give me a 25% discount as i get no benefits i refuse to do this for stores this is my sand in their gears

This reminds me when my daughter worked at an Amazon
fulfillment center one summer. She started out as a “picker”
(one who picks the merchandise for the orders)
Every day she would call me and tell me they promoted her.
I thought, “what the heck is going on in that company?” LOL
Turned out that most of their workers were blacks who
couldn’t read or write or hispanics who couldn’t speak,
read or write English.
There is an upside to schools churning out morons. Perhaps they will be her serfs in the not to distant future.

I know. It is perfectly normal to stand and stare into space for 30 seconds while you are in front of the world and then have to be led off by your handler. The thing that always amazes me is the need to hang onto the power. What is wrong with him and his family? Is there not one individual in his family that will tell him it is time to retire? Are they all so compromised that they cannot?
