Hope he had some WD40 to get her started. So, what’s WD40? It is a well known lubricant. But what many people don’t know it is also a very effective water dispersant. If you find yourself “drowned out” in high water and your can’t restart, if you have a can of WD40 with you—just spray the plug wires along with the distributor and 9 chances out of 10 you can restart your car and drive home. I’ve seen this happen many times . . . 🙂

Wet ignitions often fail because water is shorting ignition wires and other critical components. Spray some WD40 on the wires and around and on the distributor and your dead car will most likely start. It’s a good idea to always carry a can of WD40 in your glove

Best to spray All thr electrical components in the engine compartment with a hair spray like VO 7. Lacquer based spray. Water will not seep into places into should not be. Tried andtested in 45 year of off road racing. In Mexico and USA

Idalia will be moving off shore this morning. Still a powerful tropical storm. The models now have given up the idea of it turning south and coming back west. Now show it heading to the vicinity of Bermuda as a TS.
I have been to Bermuda. Did a layover there when flying to Europe in a C-130. The US military had no place for us to sleep so we slept in the Canadian barracks. We did eat in the US Navy mess hall though. There was a Battalion of Marines permanently stationed there when I we went through. My impression of the place in my limited time there was that the civilian structures there are on average of sturdier construction than those on the coasts of the US.
At this time there are no new tropical storms threatening landfall in the US. But there is a fair chance that a nontropical storm will bring much needed rain and some local cooling to the S. Texas coast in the next 10 days.
After 3 consecutive years of the Global ACE (Accumulated Cyclone Energy Index) being well below average, at this time every basin has an above average ACE. There is every reason to believe that this year the ACE will end up well above average.
This of course means nothing to those who have to deal with the aftermath of the storms. But “climate change” is supposed to be global and you all are seeing the hype about “climate change” causing tropical cyclones to be worse. That despite the fact that even the UN IPCC says there is no evidence that “climate change” is causing tropical cyclones to become more powerful or more frequent.

However, though there is elevated activity so far this year, the incidence of major Tropical Cyclones is still well below the 30 year mean.

I must tell you that the same situation exists in the UK’s rotten and decaying NHS…and has for decades.
“Administrators” outnumber doctors. And they contribute nothing to patient care. They receive exorbitant salaries, including a new leased car every year paid for by, of course, the taxpayer.
Meanwhile waiting lists grow longer and longer. And the level of quality, successful health results achieved diminishes exponentially.
The day corporatism infected hospitals and medical practices here was the day I knew the US system would follow the same path inexorably.
I have no wish to add to your righteous consternation. Nevertheless, this is an essay from the Brownstone Institute I’ve kept for a long time. When I read it I thought of you. Blessings to you, dear Doctor (with a capital “D”) You are a modern day Luke. It is now a post tropical storm and it almost certainly going to head back west. Joe is not confident that it will make landfall again but the European control model is indicating it will come back and come ashore in the vicinity of NYC!
