Can I ask a really stupid question? Do these grand jury decisions need to be unanimous, or is it a simple majority? The only reason I ask is because it seems like a unanimous outcome would be unlikely in Georgia (unless they have a completely partisan jury).
Not stupid. A Grand jury is made of of between 16-23 Jurors and it takes 12 of them to concur with the charges to indict someone. So in a case where all 23 are present, a simple majority is all is needed.

Perhaps you know the answer to a related question that I’ve been posting much about lately: Why is it that the only two countries in the world that retain the grand jury as an institution are the United States and Liberia? I’m aware that grand juries are referenced in the constitution in specific circumstances, but there must be another reason that they are still so widely used.
The Grand Jury exists and is used widely because they almost always indict. Basically, it is a tool the government will never give up using.
There’s a great Rockford Files episode on the grand jury system and how it is corrupt and used against anyone targeted by a prosecutor regardless of a crime existing.

The Grand Jury system put in by the Founders were supposed to put some measure of restraint on Prosecutors. IN fact in the early days the Grand Jury had more power than the Prosecutor, and were free to investigate any crimes they chose not just the ones brought to them by the Prosecutor. I don’t know if those powers still exist.
The Grand Jury only needs to think they have reasonable cause to believe a felony has been committed, and only needs 12 of its 23 members to think this, in order to make an indictment. Remember, there is no Judge in the room…and no defense….and the entire grand jury proceeding is essentially controlled by the prosecutor. It is the prosecutor, who decides what evidence to present, picks the witnesses to testify, and instructs the jurors on the law.
When the prosecutor makes their presentations to the grand jury….there is absolutely no one witnessing it..who may object to what the prosecutor does, or says….nor, if the prosecutor correctly explains the law correctly, nor, if the evidence shown is valid, or not.
Everyone knows, as a former top judge in New York once stated, a prosecutor can get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich!
Now, Mr. D.A., make your formal charges and prove them beyond a doubt in a court, where a defense may examine and cross…and a jury needs to meet a much higher standard…than the normal morons on a grand jury.

I just learned today that a former neighbor, retired military and 58 years old, who went to work for Delta as an airline pilot after he retired from the military, died recently. It was sudden and unexpected and he had just had his phsyical which gave him a clean bill of health.
Vaccine that they were forced to take? At least he didn’t die behind the controls of a passenger jet. This makes me sick that he gave so many years to the military and this is the way he loses his life??? I feel so bad for his young wife and family of 3 children.
This week I’ll be attending the funeral for a friend’s sister, whose cancer resurfaced and killed her within two months. A couple of weeks ago, the younger brother of another friend died suddenly of a heart attack. Still another friend lost *two* brothers within 12 months, both had sudden heart attacks.
All told, at least a dozen friends have lost siblings within the past two years, not to mention other relatives who have passed unexpectedly.
The sudden deaths just keep piling up. Those who took poison death shots are now dropping from heart attacks, strokes and turbo cancers at an alarming rate!

Perhaps this is a good time to address this very common misunderstanding about Nero. He could not have actually “fiddled”. Fiddles (as in violins) didn’t exist at that time. The source of the misunderstanding is Suetonius’ “The Twelve Caesars”, which said (in translation) that Nero “fretted” about the great fire in Rome, meaning he was worried. He was worried that it would be discovered that HE ordered and paid henchmen to SET the fire he then blamed on Christians. The fire got way out of hand, burning down 10 of Rome’s 14 districts. Public opinion that the fire was Nero’s fault became one of the motives for the coup that ended his ugly, thoroughly corrupt reign four years later.

There was talk of the split in the Democrat party being between two factions: the Clintons and the Obamas.
Once Hillary lost to PDJT it appeared that the Obama faction had gained the party’s favor, and Bribem being awarded the election looked to be more proof of that.
But now, there appears to be another rift — this time between Obama and SLO-Joe:
– Hunter’s plea deal gets rejected by the judge because Hunter was going to get immunity for anything past or future that ‘could be’ prosecutable, sounds to me that Hunter was ready to turn on the ‘Big Guy’.
– Obama’s personal friend and chef ends up dead in shallow water.
– Obama’s supposed home state has unfathomable destruction and yet he is no where to be found, while Bribem says ‘no comment’ with a smirk on his face.
– Gavin Newsom is given a better chance as the Democrat nominee than the hand-selected favorite AG-to-Senator pick of Barry’s, Kamala.
Add to the mix the declined mental and physical state of the CA Senator Feinstein and a scheduled vacation of Bribem to Lake Tahoe for a week (will he be staying at Feinstein’s grand property there?) and the scheduled lunch with his vice-president today, I wonder . . .
Is the plan to switch Kamala back to the Senate by Newsom after the ‘gentle prodding’ of Dianne to step down is effected, and prop Newsom up to VP so that he can sidle into Joe’s role once Hunter begins to spill the beans?
This would tan Bahri’s hide since it is the Pelosi wing of the party taking over the Clinton role, and the Obama contingent getting squeezed out with no hope for a second family member to enter the conversation for election maneuvers.

If business was to continue ‘as usual’, why did the plea deal get rejected?
If it is because the judge was not in on ‘the money mill’ then perhaps there was an aversion to accepting the plea deal, but if the prosecution ‘knew’ this, then, I ask, once again, why did the plea deal get presented in the first place just to be rejected?
My guess is the prosecution had a bigger case to prosecute and wanted Hunter’s co-operation with same. And, I am not saying the ‘bigger’ case was against SLO-Joe . . .

Sometimes, it’s just a poorly drafted suit. A plaintiff does have to allege an injury. The parents here are injured in general when a school fails to acknowledge the common law and constitutional law that schools are not parents and cannot usurp parental rights, but not individually here, not specifically.
It is true you cannot bring a suit over a prospective harm, with a few sort of exceptions (chilling free speech is one).
The parents should have found a better cause of action, or gotten a better plaintiff.
