I am grateful that God in his infinite goodness chose me, formed me, loved me, and never gives up on me. I can’t appreciate completely who and what I am, and should be, but I can trust that God made me with wonderful and loving intent.
I am grateful for family, and friends, especially since they’ve played such a generous part in my care and healing these last three years.
I am grateful for my home, not only a haven and refuge for our extended family, but a little place on the edge of the city where I get to watch for meteors, deer in the field, and ducks, geese, cranes, beavers, and muskrats on the little pond next to the house.
I am grateful that I’ve received life changing medical care.
I am grateful for the little church in the country where we worship, the priest who serves there to bring us the Bread of Life, the Word, and the people there who join in fellowship. I am grateful for the patrimony and gift of my faith, handed down and sacrificed for through these many centuries.
I am grateful for my grandchildren, and the opportunity to see the world through their eyes.
Gratitude can change the world, because it will change your life. May we all remember our blessings every day.
This is just a start.
If you have some other topic or gripe or snark, do not post it here. You’ve got plenty of other posts here to express yourself on.
I’m grateful for my parents who did their level best to raise me in the care and admonishment of the LORD.
They celebrate 58 years of marriage today!
Amen, Menagerie, Gratitude DOES change everything!
My wife & I too are grateful to be a part of our grandchildren’s lives & their parents. We are blessed. ✝️
Same here! So grateful.
We are grateful for you Menagerie!
ABSOLUTELY!
I am grateful that God’s mercy and grace can be found even in a city known nationwide for crime. Believers worshipping and praising God with true joy due to hope in our Risen Savior. I am blessed to be a part of this church that refuses to give up in a neighborhood with so many problems. We still have a bus to pick up folks who have no other way to come – and we are truly blessed by their presence. One of the more vocal worshippers is a man who has adopted 5 children, at the end of each service he takes them to the altar where they kneel and he prays for them. One recent Sunday this man was led to pray for the teenagers at the end of the service instead. He had obviously instructed his children to go to the altar themselves and pray for each other. What a joy and blessing to see these elementary age children in a virtual “dog pile” praying for each other. (I assume there was ‘some’ praying going on)😁
And this will make a world of difference in their adult lives.
I am grateful for my family and friends. Without my family and friends, I would be lost. I am grateful.
God Bless America
Beautiful post Menagerie,
Yes. Very well said, love. Thank you. 🙂
This is so true in 2012 I was miserable, burned out from a job and a guy. I quit the job and the guy. I found this book by the author of the Secret called The Magic and all it was is teaching you how to be grateful and how to get started writing in a gratitude journal every day. It totally changed my life, writing it down like that I still do it from time to time. But every night before I go to bed I tell myself how blessed I am. Because I know, no matter what the day brought good or bad I am still blessed and grateful for everything I have, not what I don’t have. It is a powerful tool.
Almost 50 years ago a friend recommended a book that started my journey to healing and drew me to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. The book was “Power in Praise.” “Enter His gates with thanksgiving, And His courtyards with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name”. ~ Psalm 100:4
Thank you Menagerie! I put this in my phone as a reminder everyday.
I am grateful for my beautiful wife (married 46 years next Sunday) and my two wonderful children. I am grateful for the faculties with which the Good Lord blessed me so I can appreciate all the wondrous ways He blesses me each and every day. Your post today, Menagerie, is another one of those blessings — thank you; and to you and all Treepers Pax Domini sit semper vobiscum.
Beautifully written we have so much to be grateful for in life
❤
I am grateful for so much and for so many things, that I can’t possibly put it all on paper. I am thankful that my Lord and Savior, blessed me, by making it all possible. Jesus Christ has shown this sinner, how much he loves me.
Thank you, Sundance.
The reminder of gratitude is something to do throughout the day… to keep those things presently in mind.
Although I love Sundance’s posts, this one was written by Menagerie.
I am grateful that I have seen our sons grow to be Good Men and Great Fathers. I am also grateful that God has kept me here for a purpose that I am not quite sure of….but have Great Faith that my purpose on this Earth is not done.
Amen!!
What greater tribute than to have raised your sons to be good men, great fathers and men of faith? I, too, am grateful to have two amazing sons, two fantastic daughters-in-love, 3 granddaughters and one grandson. I have been blessed with an amazing and loving husband and we will celebrate 49 years of marriage on Thanksgiving Day. I have been beyond blessed by the Father with His Spirit, His Power and His Might. I only hope that every one can come to know the Power, Might, Mercy, Love and Forgiveness of God our Father!
I’m grateful for discernment. I’m grateful for self awareness. I’m grateful for authenticity. I’m grateful for the truth.
Having just entered my 7th decade last week, I am grateful God still has a plan and a purpose for me. The older I get, the less inclined I am to think I’ve accomplished ANYTHING, let alone stayed inside His will. That, perhaps, comes from gaining perspective and learning not to live by impulse and emotion in the reality of an unchanging God who is, above all, holy. Can’t say that’s been my forte. But God! He redeems! I will be publishing my life’s work next year, a book project I’ve been working on for over 25 years. And I’m grateful. So very grateful!
Grateful for my artificial hip joint that is coming along good at 7 weeks. Grateful for my wonderful wife who has been there for me for this and other medical things that has happened to me in the past year. Hopefully can get her fixed up now
I find that thanking God for the “simple things” in life helps me see how wonderous they really are.
Absolutely!!
I have the good fortune to be grateful for so many things. Love, family, man’s best friend, accomplishment.
It isn’t about me. It is now about preserving for the coming generations.
I am grateful to have the honor to witness history on the boil. To be a part in preserving what our children should have.
Grateful for the Green Dragon..
Grateful for my wife of 30 years, our 4 children and 6 grandchildren. We raised our children to think, not just follow. It has served us all well.
Thanks M.
I am grateful that no matter what, God is sovereign and works everything to the good.
I am thankful for the fellowship we have on this site. There is rich nourishment here, to strengthen us on our way.
When I consider the provision and protection of God, I often have the sense that we don’t even know the tenth of what He has done for us!
thank you all at CTH and sanity for sweden blog and God for all blessings given to us
❤️❤️❤️
I am grateful for my sister Linda. She is here for a week from New Mexico to join in celebrating my mom’s life. She died June 11th. Several other family members will be here whose lives she greatly impacted. I am also grateful for my friend Steve. It is difficult for me to trust anyone but he has been patient with me. He and my sister have been supportive and encouraging throughout my 3 year battle with peritoneal cancer. Although there are many reasons to be upset about a cancer diagnosis, because of this I was able to forgive my mom for past pain before she died. I am also grateful for old friends I had not spoken to for many years. I am grateful for my Teddy Bear Bernedoodle, Faith. I named her that because my faith in God has helped me through cancer. She’s also very affectionate. I am also grateful to be part of the Treeper family.
Wodie I didn’t realize you’ve been battling such a health issue. Please know you’re in my prayers. GBY.
Amen.
Start every day with a simple prayer thanking God.
A friend sent me this prayer.
Thank you God
for your grace
For your mercy
For your forgiveness
For your protection
For your guidance
For your friendship
For your unfailing love
For giving me peace
And for being my Savior.
Amen.
I am grateful too for kindness, for a smile, for a hug, for caring, for helpfulness, and a positive attitude.
I am grateful that the Lord God through Jesus Christ called me into ministry and kept me alive when all looked bleak. Someone praise God with me.
Amen!
Menagerie..
I’m grateful you shared your thoughts with me today.. You have helped my perspective ..
Best Regards
Storms in life will come and go…..but Gods love for us is always there,,,for that I am grateful….
Last Monday morning, I went for an early morning ride on my motorcycle. It was just before sunrise, the air was cool and still; perfect riding weather. As the sun rose I was blessed with spectacular hues of purple, pink, red, and orange. The road I chose is known as The Dragon – U.S. highway 129 in East Tennessee. Everything was excellent; I cannot claim perfection, but it was for me. When I reached the top I gave a short prayer of thanks for being blessed with such a day. I was gone all day, over six hundred miles that day. In every moment I saw God’s hand in every moment.
I think that sometimes (most?) we are so focused on our own suffering, the suffering of others, and the unknown future. It is difficult to raise your head above the herd and see the beauty of nature and humanity. Do take the time to rise up, look around, and give thanks.
I am grateful for this treehouse, the tree and it’s branches, leaves, roots………even the nuts. 🙂
Seriously, thanks to all that care for this treehouse and its branch dwellers.
I am grateful that our Heavenly Father led me to this post! Let us never forget our Blessings!
It was only by happenstance that I even went to my computer this Sunday morning; normally I don’t check anything until late in the day.
Apparently God had a message for me this morning.
I am thankful that I listened this time.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
As I enter His gates with thanksgiving I find myself singing the words of this song:
I love you Lord and I lift my voice. To you oh Lord oh my soul rejoice. Take joy my King in all you hear. Let it be a sweet sweet song in your ear.
Jesus is my all in all. My Savior, my Redeemer, my Counselor and my Friend.
I am ever so thankful that our God has given us eternal life through His most precious Son, Jesus. The sweetest name I’ll ever know; and He left us His Holy Spirit until we meet in Heaven.
Praise and Honor and Glory to our God Almighty!
In my opinion we live in two worlds, I live in two worlds. One is viewed in gratitude one in selfishness. Selfishness is always there, like hell beneath the feet of those in heaven. But only in gratitude can heaven be viewed. My goal is to live there, as is those who see it.
A few years back, as I suddenly found myself unemployed for the first time in almost 35 years, I said a prayer and thanked the Lord that for every door that closes, He opens another. We just need to look.
As I have reacquainted my self with Christ Jesus, I have relearned gratitude and thank God for my blessings everyday.
Thank you Menagerie for this reminder.
May God continue to bless you.
It was pointed out to me as a child that I was “ an ungrateful wretch” by the Scottish grandmother that along with Granda raised my brothers and me.
It was confusing as life was not fair and I was full of ( unknowingly) self pity
Fortunately that is gradually being corrected by the “ Grace of God”
When it was pointed out to me that gratitude was an ACTION word nearly everything changed.
Gratitude is an action word.
Thank M your actions speak louder than words.
Cheers!
Thanks for the reminder and for all the wonderful comments around the room.
I am grateful beyond words that the good Lord in his mercy helped me to get sober after my life was almost destroyed by alcohol. My beautiful grandchildren have never seen me drunk or drugged as their parents did. The fact that I am alive today after being on death’s door is only due to the grace of G-d.
They say that a grateful drunk will most likely not drink, and I believe it.
For the past 23 years I’ve been cooking with GAS: Gratitude, Acceptance, Serenity.
👍👍
❤
Much love and respect Seneca…
Thanks! Same to you. I am forever grateful to you, Sundance, Menagerie and the others who have created the Fellowship of the Tree House.
I am grateful for so many things I can’t even begin to count them all. Let me just say now I am most grateful to my mother for allowing me to be born, and I am equally grateful to God for allowing me so many years to enjoy His creation in so many ways.
I am grateful for the blessings I receive, in abundance, every single day – even when I falter and fail only to realize days, weeks or sometimes years later that those failures have led me to where I was meant to be. My cup runneth over.
Part of my prayers everyday include saying thank you for my life, my family, my friends, my skills and my possessions, I am looking forward to tomorrow, in Jesus’s name and in faith I pray, amen
Amen. And we are grateful for you.
Someone at work typed ‘Blessings’ to me in their close of a brief communication, and I never received something like that before at work I loved it and now I use it too – everywhere. Blessings to you all 🙂
I am Grateful for Sundance and Menagerie and all my smart friends here who have changed my life profoundly.
I am grateful America was founded.. With people like Sundance on our side, how can we lose?
Thank you for this beautiful reminder, Menagerie.
I am grateful for this lovely summer. It has been one of peaceful widening of my heart by the Holy Spirit. He has made me aware of and gently convicted me of actions that led me to repentance.
His work changed a troubling relationship into grace and love. Even has led to a loved one to schedule their baptism in a few days.
Praising our most merciful LORD.
Thank you Menagerie.
I am grateful for you, Sundance, admins and all Treepers that we have this place of refuge to learn from each other, receive uplifting messages and have a few chuckles. 🙂
I am blessed far beyond what I deserve each and every day. Glory be to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
When I pray at night I always thank God for the blessings in my life but it wasn’t until a little over a year ago I also started thanking God for some of the things in my life that, from my point of view, aren’t so great. I started to accept them and be thankful for them because I know he has put these little “challenges” in my life for a purpose.
Once I started doing that, oh boy. It was like a weight was lifted from me and a lot of really cool things started happening.
I started to see God’s presence in the littlest things. Things I never really paid attention to, like a bee pollinating a flower. A mother bird feeding her babies. I even had a humming bird come and hover over my head for about 20 seconds while my wife and I had our morning coffee on the deck.
We were both amazed because if you ever try to get close enough to get a good picture of a hummingbird, which we’ve been trying to do for a long time, they just zoom away. Then suddenly after I started being thankful for everything, one just came by to say hi. Stuff like that happens all the time now.
It’s like an entirely new world had opened up for me and it all started because I was thankful for everything in my life, good and not so good. I’ve never been happier.
Gratitude will change your perspective on life.
Thank you for posting this Menagerie and may God bless you and your family.
