I have been watching elections since JFK won against Nixon.
I have never seen one instance where the PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION ballot count was shut down at 11 pm before the count was completed in five or six critical cities SIMULTANEOUSLY (Detroit, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Milwaukee) having the Republican observers forcibly removed by police, the doors locked, the windows cardboarded over with pizza boxes…and then the ballot count secretly continued with sacks and suitcases full of ballots being secretly delivered in the back door!
The USPS driver who swore he delivered tens of thousands of ballots from New York City to Philadelphia on election night.
Thousands of ballots marked for President Trump and “Adjudicated” instead for Biden.
Thousands of ballots marked only for Biden with none of the dozen or more other candidates marked.
Incredibly, Chris Wallace on FOX when it was brought to his attention said…Well, the election workers have to sleep, too! Funny, because they didn’t sleep and kept on counting!!!
And surely you know Nixon beat JFK.
The results were still not in as we in CA went to bed, the East Coast having turned in long before.
Illinois had gone Nixon. It was the last state to turn in a tally. Why? Chicago, that’s why. The best machine the Dems ran in those days was in the city with the big shoulders and Mayor Daley was angry. It had become obvious that his city had not sufficiently smothered Dick Nixon. Chicago was NOT going to give the election to JFK.
Mayor Daley was beside himself. The strong-armed mayor would be the laughing stock of pols if his Dem Machine were responsible for Nixon beating Kennedy.
The media, of course, knew the reason for the hold-up. Ballots were being filled in. Thousands of them. Most big city denizens knew the truth too. They were used to unions bosses and big city politics, but most of the country remained pretty naive….but even they had heard of Daley and Chicago.
Even the announcers that night made reference over and over to “the Daley Machine.” My father explained to me what a “machine” was in politics. He said, “No way now that Nixon wins because it’s up to Chicago and even if Nixon wins there, Daly won’t let him win.”
There were indeed references over the next week on CBS to the suspiciously slow and late tallying of votes in Daley’s Chicago and the dilatory final result Illinois. I don’t know about NBC, and the lesser-watched in those days, ABC because my father would only watch Walter Cronkite and his crew). best friend’s parents also had on NBC and the Huntley-Brinkley Report.
The results of the West VA primary had been the subject of talk about Old Man Joe Kennedy having the primary stolen at the last minute for his kid Jack. Books I read in later years state the steal as a matter of fact.
However, the media being the media was taken with the idea of a very young President who smiled largely and his pretty wife and young child. Talk of Nixon having been the winner eventually faded.
Years later, and long after the young President’s death, historians one by one generally felt free to state the obvious, some of them having done a lot of research about that night, that yes, Nixon had indeed won, but Daley took it from him.
I always thought it very odd when I read their accounts that they seemed more interested in writing about Richard Daley and his behavior that night than they ever seemed about Dick Nixon’s.
All these years later, the big cities of America are still delivering stolen votes to the Dem Party candidates. The GOP has never seemed interested in fighting to change all that.
I guess there has always been an understanding: you get the cities and we get everything else.
Lately, the GOP has decided, I guess, they don’t even need the “everything else” in order to make their senators and House members happy with the spoils of their offices.
I thought it was not only Chicago but also Texas. LBJ managed to bring in some false votes enough to overurn a Nixon victory. But more interesting, was it Nixon’s own decision not to contest the election result or were there a lot of “grey men” in the backrooms who convinced him?
For Nixon, I think part of not contesting the obvious fraud was “For the Good of the Country.” UGH!
Criminality must ALWAYS be confronted!
Look at California where criminality is now accepted as normal and NOT illegal!
Anyway, I was always amazed about the attitude afterward: “Oh yeah, Chicago and its cemeteries elected Kennedy. Oh well, that’s Chicago for you, ha ha ha!”
Chris Matthews book is an excellent read…Nixon vs Kennedy…hate Matthews but he is an excellent writer.
He writes that yes there was fraud and Kennedy’s were prepared to “buy off” Nixon if it came to a recount. Numbers were in the millions and they were prepared to give Nixon going away money.
However, Nixon knew he was screwed over by the Daley machine but at that level did not want to put the Country through a recount or appear as a whiner. So he accepted the results and moved on…sans check.
President Eisenhower no doubt told Nixon to not contest the election. He was still a revered figure in the country.
It always amazes me how Nixon is treated like scum by historians but JFK and the rest of his family all get a pass for the crap they did, which was far more harmful to the country than anything Nixon did!
It did not do Mayor Daly any good to steal the election. The democrats would not seat his delegation at the 68 convention in Chicago.
The mayor retaliated by having the local goons rough them up.
And then the CIA WENT ON TO OVERTHROW BOTH KENNEDY AND NIXON.
BTW, that prosaic level of election cheating cannot be compared to the Systemic Voting Machine CheatWare and COVID-induced Mail-In Fraud coupled with the Censorship Industrial Complex of the Modern Surveillance State.

I also have been watching elections since JFK, never saw anything like it, nor have I ever read about any other US election where there was a simultaneous shut down of counting in states, coordinated with national media. And yet, you cannot get the anti Trumpers to even consider that anomaly. Of course that was shortly preceded by all of us participating in an unconstitutional national shutdown. Another first. Sadly, won’t be the last.
That to me is the main thing, the counting stopped and there was no explanation.
You can’t use the “not widespread” excuse to dismiss that.

Before it was even published on this site, Matt received the above notice (from YouTube).
I’d like to thank YouTube for making our point. The material in this video does not promote the idea that any election was stolen or illegitimate. On the contrary, it shows a great mass of comments from Democratic partisans and pundits who themselves make that claim, about the 2016 election. Those comments were not censored or suppressed when made the first time around, by the likes of Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Karine Jean-Pierre, Adam Schiff, Rob Reiner, Tom Arnold, and Chris Hayes, among many others.
Nor did any platform step in to issue warnings when my former boss, Keith Olbermann, promised with regard to Trump’s ascension to the White House, “It will not be a peaceful transfer of power.”
However, the decision to assemble these materials in one place, inviting audiences to consider their meaning, apparently crosses a line. Now we know: you can deny election results on a platform like YouTube as much as you want, you can even promise disruption, but drawing attention to such behavior angers the algorithm. It’s hard to imagine a better demonstration of the double-standard in content moderation.
