He shut down his channel and was trying to set up his own website, due to Youtube’s abusive policies and employees who were trying to hinder his channel, such as with fake strikes to get his channel taken away. He decided that it was only a matter of time when they’d be able to make 3 of the fake strikes stay, and then his channel would get deleted.
But he’s back with a new channel, so if you were subscribed to the old channel, you’ll probably find it’s been renamed to be run by Hatoun Tash, who’s an ex-Muslim who’s been stabbed several times.
This is the saddest, most abhorrent thing. I’ve a customer with an invalid child. Father and mother are wonderful people and dad has been recently diagnosed stage 4 cancer. They’ve been under relentless assault by an alphabet person next door for going on two or three years. It’s not enough their child lies in a hospital bed a few feet from the assaulting window. The alphabet person harasses everyone including the family’s contractors, but it is allowed because the alphabet person is a protected class and it’s simply not legal to call her what she is…bat shit crazy.
Only satan does such things. In the alphabet persons yard is a huge angel figure.

Has anyone here noticed an increase in supply chain issues at their local grocery store?
I’ve visited multiple grocery chains in two states over the past two months. It’s starting to feel like 2021 again with the picked over shelves. The produce section in particular is concerning—quantity and quality are down. Here’s an example from my trip to the large local grocery chain today: The nice tomatoes they usually sell that are grown in the next state over have been replaced by questionable ones from Mexico. During tomato season. The rest of the produce aisle was either picked over, on the verge of spoiling, or out-of-stock entirely. In the egg section, there were only three cartons of store-brand eggs and an otherwise empty shelf. And again, this is not just a once-off bad experience. I’ve had recent similar experiences at other stores.

The other lunch dish we liked was a half avocado with the seed removed and the hole filled with shrimp salad. Pretty healthy lunches we ate.

The hole that a seed leaves in a half of an avocado? That is too small for any meal! About 1 tablespoon’s worth.
Fill the empty avocado skin with shrimp salad and I would say ‘how cute, where’s the rest of my lunch?’. At least you would have equal amounts of avocado and shrimp salad. But just the little hole left by the seed?
My dad would say “That’s not big enough to fill my cavity!”

Yes, all the stores, grocery and otherwise are looking sparse. Displays and products are shuffled around to make the store seem stocked but it isn’t. I have been complaining about how long vegetables are lasting. Since the Rona produce simply doesn’t store like it once did. Things I could keep for days, or even weeks, starts to spoil so much faster. And I won’t even get started on the prices.
Last few weeks I was paying as little as $2.99 for gas, then it was $3.09, today in some stations it was as high as $3.63. I dread to see what it will be by the weekend.
I’m in Central Indiana and noticed the same thing. Saw the downsizing of the cut salad greens but then they restored the larger boxes at almost $6. However, the expiration date was only 2 days away at time of purchase.
We buy the organic milk and usually it has expiring date of well about 6 weeks… not this time. It expires in 3 weeks. Strangely, it’s price only adjusted about $0.50… but we fork over almost $7 gallon for it.
Looks almost like they were hoarding and slowly releasing stock into the community.
Strangely, Hostess cakes were marked way down at $1.99. I have this long standing suspicion that when times are bad, the manufacturers of junk foods reduce the prices as a salve. Nowadays, with talks of MRNA entering food supply even in vegetables… the grocery makes me weary… especially highly processed foods.
The prices are high. I can’t thank Sundance enough for his forewarning long ago. Stocked a deep freeze and purchased mini generators… one for heat and another for the fridge and deep freeze… so push comes to shove, we are safe and fed.
Things are weird.
Oh… and they’ve almost entirely eliminated the meat department.
$4.75 here on the central Oregon coast up from $4.50 a week ago.
I have been told by friends who are employees of that big “K” corp, that they have stock and no employees or at least not enough employees for stocking stuff that is on the loading dock. The bin of Roma tomatoes was full last I was needing…. they were all rotten tho…. went to walmart instead. Needed more 2 days later…. nothing but greenish romas.
K corp has changed practices to something like wally world… buying reduced size product (iceberg heads, romaine heads, green peppers (~6oz down to ~4oz now) and even red onions (which I get in summer from my food service provider X 25 lbs cause RO keeps well).
This translates to a price increase which is 25 to 100 percent for a smaller portion size (those bought by count not weight). “K” seems to have better produce most times but the green peppers are old and dehydrated way to often (which translates to #2 or (#3 “chopper”) quality instead of the #1 price you are paying) & “jumbo” red onions are sold @ jumbo price but no longer jumbo but medium size / weight.
(for you lawyers out there … if that is now local or corp policy … that might qualify for false advertising cause it is a rip off charging for Lg / jumbo instead of medium price) <USDA specs pdf>
My local egg selection has always been cleaned out for the most part by 4pm save the organic / brown eggs for big bucks. (wally has more dedicated space but they are cleaned out too most times.
Just to explain a bit about vegetable grades #1 is what grocery stores buy because there should be no blemishes / worm tracks and looks best quality to eye so customers buy it or it will just rot in the bin.
#2 is generally restaurant quality, blemishes & minor worm / insect damage
#3 “chopper” cheap restaurant quality worst look / blemish / insect damage, I used to use these but the savings between buying #1 from grocery vs labor time / cost to remove not so edible blemishes. (this assumes available labor time/cost to correct)
I could buy #2 but can’t use a full bushel case before 1/2 goes bad which then exceeds the price of just buying from store on an as needed basis, green pepper in my case.
One of my sales reps said there are worse grades but those generally go into the canned or frozen market, hope they have good computer sorters to remove the offending bits, cause it is not alot of human labor anymore to pre-cut items <video one for potatoes>

Produce quality, quantity and availability is definitely way down since at least 2019. Surprising when you find USA produce. Where are they sending all the California produce? Mexico?
I’m in flyover country and do lots of produce shopping, 40+ years, because of the way our family preferred to eat and not eating out very often. I can confirm that from my perspective, 2021 was bad, there was a slight improvement in 2022, and now it is almost as bad as 2021 again.
I’m an experienced potato peeler (pretty big family) and I am seeing scarred, halved potatoes like never before in the bag. Those wonderful Athena melons that I could buy for a month or more, every summer, seemed to have a season of about one week’s length this year. Middle of tomato season, their lovely & tempting heirloom variety tomato display was full of tomatoes from Mexico! Displays are sparse. Definite drop in US produce.
Raising whatever I can in the garden….challenging here with poor soil and hungry, invasive wildlife though. “The Man” doesn’t want me harvesting any of the wildlife, dontcha know.
We have had a tough gardening year here also. Rains wouldn’t cooperate for the 5th year in a row. The one inch a week a garden requires was lacking right when items like green beans would’ve normally produced. Dry for weeks. Replanted some rows of beans 4 times this year.
I supplement from farmer’s markets when the prices are right. Some are setup to irrigate and start in greenhouses then transplant. They can somewhat overcome weather in this way. Our transplants from North-east drive the prices up but reasonable deals can still be found.
Our four legged native goats (whitetail deer) are always a challenge to keep out of the kitchen gardens. Two rows of electric fence about 4 foot apart helps keep them at bay. This year its the bunnies that are a major problem, normally very few if any are to be seen.
On the bright side we have plenty of sweet corn this year! Finally getting tomatoes, squash and cukes that were saved by watering and are finally producing.
Pretty but pretty destructive!

Should have addressed the poor soil issue in first reply. Compost is the answer to poor soil. Intensive gardening and compost combined will yield amazing results. There are lots of references online for generating your own compost. Everything goes into my compost piles.
I’ve noticed a definite change in the produce, but I thought it more a seasonal thing. As far as produce being “local”, it’s been years. You would think we don’t grow anything here in this country. I cannot remember a time I’ve seen bell peppers grown in the US, Holland and Mexico seem to be the only farms that can grow a pepper. Canada has the market for tomatoes and cukes. Peru for blueberries and grapes. China for garlic. Avacados from Mexico. Fair trade, sustainable, organic . . . .
As far as other products, I still experience some sporadic shortages since COVID, but the biggest thing I notice is the smaller packages being put on the shelves next to “normal” sizes. My guess is it is desensitization and the normal sizes will be gone soon.
For all the catastrophic climate crazies out there, just how much more plastic garbage are we generating by smaller quantities in packages? How big is the carbon footprint for peppers crossing the globe instead of the state?

Yes, I will most certainly pray for your friend. For an ease to her anxiety for this much needed surgery which will give her renewed chance at life. We come to times like these where there’s no choice but to march forward. I praise God that we live in times where such medical miracles are possible. Big prayers for smooth surgery, gentle healing, and managed pain.
I had that surgery in ’07. I wish I could reduce your friends anxiety which I, of course, can easily understand. Here’s some at-a-distance advice. First she should put her trust in Our Dear Lord to watch over her during this stressful time. That can really help. Second, I was fortunate to have two excellent surgeons, one of which was an old friend. The other was, I discovered, a very well respected heart surgeon who also specialized in repairing the aortic aneurysm they discovered while I was in the hospital.
As I was about to go into surgery, the surgical nurse leaned over and quietly told me I was in good hands—he’d worked with my guy for years and had seen him work “miracles” in the operating room. Knowing Our Lord was with me, I knew I was in good hands. Prayers for your friend.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
