Chris has you beaten on this. This morning, he went to see an ex-colleague who wants him to fashion a bit of carpentry for his TV unit.
When he got there, this friend asked if he wanted a bike he was trying to get rid of. But as he knew Chris with his under the desk peddlar was going after hammer andntong, he thought he would like to have the real thing.
So we’ve just parked this bike in the garage for cooler weather. Whether he’ll be able to manage it breathing wise is another thing. He used to be an avid cyclist. I remember seeing him in Windermere haring around a corner, waving at the tourists from his coach, of which I was one at the time… much as I’m sure you’re doing to all you pass (or hit😂).
Anyway, the only drawback to this free bike is the colour…pink. Or as we might call it so no one here gets the wrong idea, rosé.
So carry on, dear friend. We’ll see you at the Olympics receiving your gold medal in Recumbent Biking!!😁😉😘

As Mary will attest good videography can greatly enhance performance. Roxanne obviously brings real virtuosity to her performance of this guitar transcription of Claire de lune. If you look at the sheet music, it’s clear that this version will require serious “chops” to play properly. For a guitar player, watching her make those effortless 5-fret stretches definitely shows she has serious chops. 🙂
But what garnered Roxanne over 9 million views is the great quality of the video itself. Camera (possibly more than one) work and editing are first-class. It’s kind of a shame this is a “one off”. Her subsequent performances are more conventional. Her playing is just as good but the videos seem a bit pedestrian in comparison.
I was listening first thing this morning to an orchestral version of Claire de Lune. It is a stunning piece which takes musical finesse. I liked this one as well. More intimate, and because of it, more appropriate for this delicate work.💕

Thank you for the reminder. I for one am grateful for people with manners. I mentioned before that I had two sweet customers of mine who stated that they immediately knew it was me on the phone without announcing myself – just because of the optimistic sound of my voice. They said I was the only one they ever spoke with who was happy.
Internally, am I always optimistic? Am I always happy? No, especially not in this day and age. But, happiness is a choice and as long as I try to be as happy as possible and not make others suffer than I feel like I’ve pushed back on an opposing world in whatever little way I can.
I still have so many ways to improve and your post is one of them. Thanks for the reminder and being iron sharpening iron. I appreciate you and our Treehouse toe-danglers.

When you think about it, (lol) a person cannot hold more than ONE thought at a time. Obviously to us they are coming in rapid succession, one this way, one that. However, a person can train themselves, or a least begin to become aware, then it is possible to “defeat” a negative thinking pattern BEFORE it becomes a conversation (in the mind). Try to do this – as soon as a negative thought “appears”, immediately “force” yourself to think of something positive – it doesn’t really matter if its in anyway related – can be anything, a positive memory, a loved one, puppies, flowers, anything positive to STOP the negative thought/s increasing. With practice and awareness, this technique is a handy tool. Needs work though.
Oldspeak – I think it helps to center oneself to remember what I am “in control of” and what I am NOT in control of. Which seems less and less nowadays.

When I click on it, it will show an “X” (his new company name, I hear – I think he’s changing Twitter’s name – or enveloping it into his newest venture – and calling it “X”. The “X” disappears a second later and I can now review the post.

We don’t go on any of those social media sites… no interest in throwing ourselves out there on purpose, for who knows who has access, and will use it for who knows what.

have no concept of data collecting community other than being aware that every single thing that gets put on this information superhighway never disappears so is collected somewhere (govt data farms in my imagination).
I also don’t have a Twitter account.
But now, sometimes if there is a link to a video, I can click on the profile of the account posting the video and look through the account. But it is no longer in chronological order. And it seems to only be if there is a video – not just words or pictures.
Sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn’t. Not sure why.

I think that as we get nearer the end, so will we also be given the necessary understanding and discernment of the Spirit, equal to the task, and the enemy’s war being waged against us. A hundred years ago, they had not the same kind of need exactly, as we do today, to know and recognize and discern the spirits, and the things of the days; with respect to Scripture interpretation. But Jesus did say, that “when we see the Abomination Of Desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, being set up;” then to flee from where you are and don’t look back to anything behind you.
Even so, I am very afraid for the great many who really think they are saved Christians, with nothing to fear; who are not interested or concerned with all the things the Lord told us to look for, and to take heed to ourselves. Lukewarm and poor vision and with no understanding or spirit of repentance; will not only make the Lord spew them out of His mouth; but they will be completely vulnerable, and without discernment, when the wicked one is being given his time to reign.

When we see, I think is an important key. When I read commentators and expositors of the Scriptures, from several generations ago; I wonder how they came up with the interpretations they did. I don’t think its fair to say they did not have the Holy Spirit, just because they did not see the future. For their conclusions were still valid in some degree; howbeit, since it wasn’t yet the time, and therefore were not able to understand what they were reading; so they resorted to things that were widely held beliefs, but not necessarily substantiated by Scripture.
Here Jesus says plainly; and I start to realize; that the understanding and the seeing will come at the same time. Another part that confirms this, could be the fact, that the Antichrist, the actual person, is not yet revealed. But we know that he will be at some point; and the signs of the times leading up to that dreadful day, we are witnessing at a frightening rate, increasing every day. It describes that time as, “When the transgressors are come to the full.” We are seeing that! The furious rage of the heathen against the LORD, and against His Anointed; and the vain imagination of the people; are breaking all the bands, and casting away all the cords! I did a little exploration into the archaic root meanings of the numbers 600, sixty, six, and found it very interestingly, to imply multiplicatives of over-plus; in other words, the multiplying of taking away all restraint; which, coincidentally also is exactly what the world was like before the flood, and in the days of Lot. And, surprise surprise, no one cared at all, nor showed any interest or concern, except one man who was preparing an ark to save his house.
So while the good seed is ripening and almost ready for the harvest; meaning the sanctification and transformation process is nearing completion; when the evil seed are also coming to their harvest time, we will be able to tell what they really are. The ones who make light of Jesus, and see no good reason to listen to anything we have to say; will be caught as they chose to be; ignorant and asleep and no way to know what they’re doing, taking the mark of the beast, and sealing their damnation. We will know it however; and will be ready for whatever we have to do; whether to be called up to testify to them for Jesus, or flee to hide; the Lord will guide us; and bring us all safe and sound to Himself, before He sends His angels to destroy the world of the ungodly.
Just did a small survey of what brave search turned up. The confusion continues.
Like early Christian writings, some sides are only seen in that they are argued against. But the pro arguments have disappeared in only years, not millennia.
They can’t agree on when Daniel was written. During his life after the fall of Jerusalem, sayings collected circa 300 B.C., or the last half added after the Maccabean revolt caused by these abominations of desolation.
As an aside, these very scripture prophecies are the reason many claim the Gospels were written after Jerusalem fell (yet again). I suppose if Nostradamus ever hit one on the nose, eventually someone will argue that his prophecies weren’t written until afterwards. These people are consistent.
They don’t agree that the passages in Mark and Mathew are the same prophecy as the passage in Luke.
One expounder claimed that the events leading to the fall of Jerusalem and captivity in Babylon were also abominations of desolation. But he was the only one I read that preceded to declare that Jesus meant the papacy when referencing Daniel’s prophecies.
Some were very careful not to make predictions, just to enumerate what the bible said so that they can be recognized when it happens.
Some bring in other end time prophecies in their analysis.

And if you think about it, those arguing that there never was any prophecy, just liars putting history in the words of people who lived before things happened, are the most extreme of Preterists.

What you say is so true! And the big reason why I can’t stand to read ANY of the so-called scholars and experts; they’re all full of hot air: they show absolutely zero evidence of grace and truth having been wrought in their own lives; (or else of course it would reflect in their opinions wouldn’t it?) yet they make these great pronouncements, which ONLY SERVE to confuse and muddy the waters! Instead of believing the Scriptures and acting like they feared God, they are only critics with devil-inspired opinions.
That’s the way I see it.
I admire you for having the fortitude and high threshold for enduring pain and anguish. Seriously! Truly, I have no use for them. If I read it in the Bible, and the Lord gives me some understanding of what I’m reading; then it’s my part to search and examine myself, and to set in order before God, and be a doer of the word. It’s so easy to be deceived, to be just a hearer, and a thinker about the word; but then still go on unconscious to how many things I miss the mark, and actually do exactly the opposite.

You describe the problem precisely: “so they resorted to things that were widely held beliefs, but not necessarily substantiated by Scripture.” Acts 17:11, “These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.” Paul and Barnabas did not want their students to simply take their word as truth, but wanted their followers to confirm in scripture (at the time, the Old Testament) everything they said. We need to do the same. Many of the commentators followed earlier commentators who expressed opinions or decided things must be allegorical because they saw no way prophecies could be meant literally (no worldwide video broadcasts back then). God was hyperbolic because they knew He could not foresee what they could not.
The kingdom parables are Jesus’ warning of the attacks that will occur from within the visible church, as well as from outside. In the previous parable, Matthew 24:23, Jesus explained” But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” Fruit is only of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).
In the parable you referenced, the kingdom of heaven is a field, a good field with rich soil, but the caretakers are sleeping. Good seed, the Word, is the only thing originally planted (Jewish law forbade intermingling of seed: the thought of mixing them would be shocking to the disciples). Their fecklessness allows tares, a wheat-like toxic mimic, to be sown by an enemy. The entire crop will not be destroyed, because God is patient and allows both crops to mature so the fruit/grain is clearly identifiable. Compare the kingdom parables to the epistles Jesus mandates be listened to in Revelation 2-3 (and the corresponding NT epistles as well, e.g. Ephesians/letter to Ephesus).
I would not worry about numbers (I, like St. Efraim the Syrian, believe in the pre-trib rapture, so I do not expect to be around to experience the wrath of Jesus (Rev. 6:16) – and no, it is not a “recent idea”, it is substantiated by scripture). But study the scriptures, the numbers are not the important part.

Kiddo goes back to public high school next Thursday, August 3. It’s going to be a long year and a half to her graduation. I have never felt such dread.
Homeschooling was unattainable for us – I cannot clone myself to be in two places at once and I am one heck of a mult-tasker – but The Potter’s School is excellent for those who can make a way for it to happen. Great curriculum, excellent teachers, and administration. Reasonably priced compared to private education – for my daughter – it would have been about $4,000 per year for her entering her Junior year of high school. Worth every penny and the peace of mind is simply priceless.
I hope this information helps others.
I hope my daughter will help others in her school and that she will continue to lay claim of that school, its administration, and occupants for Jesus.
The summer break went by too fast and the cabal wants to keep our kids for as long as they can get their filthy clutches in them. Lord, keep our children safe and built fortresses around their minds to protect them. God, instill in them common sense, courage, discernment, and steadfastness – and let their Spirits guide them to saving faith in Your Son and a vigor towards Truth, justice, and honor as our world’s future stewards. Let them not be easily fooled and garner in them the solidarity to push back against propaganda and demand wholesome teaching of classic academia. In Jesus’s Name, I pray, AMEN.
Incidentally, the Potter’s School doesn’t start until late August and ends very early in May. They have some night classes and some summer course offerings available. The flexibility is outstanding.

This is not intended to harp on you – so please don’t take it that way. I just have to express this, because I can’t (won’t) let it go.
What is meant by the phrase “it is not the right setting for some students”?
Isn’t the fact that it is called “public” school literally meaning “for everyone”? So it really should be the setting for everyone.
What we need is the education system to return to the principles of Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic… and I’ll go so far as to add the teaching of the United States Constitution, so that these children understand what their rights are as eligible citizens.
We need a return to sanity and a respect of the parental position of authority, as it is we who are placed as stewards of our children by God and only in the cases where children are truly victims of sexual assault and battery at the hands of their parents should a school system step in. Even then, stepping in is defined by the nature of being a mandatory responder, and it is protective services that intervenes on behalf of the child.
For those doing their best as teachers and parents – we realize the absolute necessity of multiple mentors for our impressionable youth. Being at odds with one another – and sneaky behaviors by the school systems that have been revealed – that does not lead to credibility or good faith.
I had some great teachers as a kid – and you know – I couldn’t tell you their political stance to save my life. That’s the way it should be. Present with facts and true science and let children grow to form their own opinions as equipped adults – who know how to conjugate sentences, write a dissertation, conduct a debate, balance equations, write a check and balance a checkbook, knowledge of all kinds of religions, the study of history (because if you don’t study it, you’re doomed to repeat it), and conduct scientific experimentation through chemistry to achieve tangible and provable results.
This distortion happening now is appalling and the paraphrasing of literary classics to promote sexual impropriety is just absolutely unnecessary. The constant beating of the drum (gay, hetero, homo, trans…) fixes these kids eyes on distractions in something that should be a very personal and individual matter. It shouldn’t be a recruitment technique.
The weaponization of school boards and superintendents unions to illicit nefarious policy – well, no wonder we are not eagerly handing over our kids. However, don’t we as consumers have a right to be able to TRUST our educators for the public school system that our tax dollars are taken to support?
You know what I knew about my teachers when I was growing up???? That they loved their jobs, loved knowledge, loved sharing knowledge, and they loved us and wanted us to be the most capable individuals we could be.
I am seeing high schoolers write like six year olds and barely able to spell. We simple can’t continue to dumb down our youth.
Lorrie, I know you are one of the good ladies. I am just so damned upset about this. We should have been able to trust. IT JUST HURTS. I don’t want my daughter trying to seek out who the Christians are in the school because she feels that she is unsafe and at a potential for ostracism, ridicule, and predation.
If we were really accepting everyone – we would concentrate on how we are alike and less on how we are different. We all bleed. We all have skin. We all are gifted in our own ways and all have the potential at great success with no emphasis at all on our skin color or orientation. Humans. We are all just humans and each contributes mightily to the fabric of ONE HUMANITY.
Since I am an office manager and bookkeeper – my boss has a legitimate expectation that I keep his books in order and the mathematics correct. We, as parents, should expect the same and yes, by the very true definition of the word “public” – it should be for everyone.
Else it is just like me paying exorbitant rates for healthcare when everyone else is getting it free – and I’m not getting my services or my health needs met. Guess what – Ayn Rand Objectivism kicks in and the host organism chooses no longer to support the parasites. Then, where are all of us as one humanity?
I just think it is a total cop out to say “it’s not for everyone” and that is how all of this garbage is allowed to go on. Because we don’t have higher expectations.

As Christians, it doesn’t matter whether we’re young or old, working, still in school, or retired; wherever we go in this world, we must expect some form of ostracism and ridicule; because that’s what they think of Jesus, whom we love and belong to.
The kids I just wrote you about, they all faced continuous, and sometimes very cruel and threatening mockery from the other kids. In a society so polluted and perverted, and everyone propagandized and brainwashed to No God, and No Faith, and No Moral Character; there is a real affect that plays out, when the Holy Spirit works through us to convict of sin, and shine light upon the darkness. I had it always at the workplace; didn’t matter where; the division and separation is put there by the Lord, for VERY GOOD reasons!
Almighty God and her guardian angels will go with her, JWoo🙏🏻💕 They have since she was born. They won’t leave her now.
Though I am a pray-er and have Spiritual Discernment – sometimes my broken humanity kicks in and wants to know if we are to survive or be martyrs for the cause. And can I trust God in both scenarios? Can I truly lean into Him and accept… anything… especially that which I don’t want.
The Lord is able to give great strength and victory to His children who stay true to Him in extreme circumstances.
I remember many, many years ago; the youngest daughter of some close friends of mine; her and her two brothers going to High School as strong Christians, full of the Holy Spirit. She got the valedictorian for her graduating class, and was called to give a short speech after receiving her award. The subject of her speech was, “Where will you be in a hundred years?” and there before the whole assembly of her graduating class, all the faculty and parents and families, she preached Jesus to them, and their need to be saved. We were so proud of her and really amazed at how the Lord helped her and anointed her for giving that message, to that so common godless American culture of So. Cal. in the 80’s.
I pray for your daughter, for a heart on fire, and steadfast faith in Jesus; and of course, grace, mercy and protection.

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight. – Isaiah 5:21
The fifth chapter of Isaiah calls out “woe” to a number of individuals, including those who call evil good and good evil, who say that darkness is light and light darkness, and that bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter (Isaiah 5:20). There is woe for the intoxicated person (verses 22-23) and, in today’s verse, there is woe to the one who is totally self-reliant. The word “woe” is seldom used in today’s vocabulary, but it has great depth. It is defined as “grievous distress, affliction, or trouble.”
Jesus, in Luke 6:24-26, listed additional woes, calling out woe to the rich, to those who are full, to those who laugh, and to those when all people speak well of them. The woes may be considered danger signs.
It might be fair to say that the cautions are all against a mindset that is at odds with the ways God wants you to think. The mindset of the world, which calls things other than what they are, parties hard, is confident in personal wealth, and seeks popularity, does not bring what a person needs most—real joy, true peace, and honest hope. Romans 15:13 offers the solution to the world’s woes. “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”
Like the ancient Greek philosopher, Epicurus, who sought a life of sensual pleasures, many in American society are wandering about seeking something to satisfy them. It is only Christ who satisfies. Pray that a true revival would sweep across the land, drawing many to Jesus, and restore the nation to one that recognizes light as light because they have met the Light of the World for themselves.

Anger is understandable – BUT it
is very destructive to those who harbor it –
it does nothing to deter the perpetrator
and/or change anything !!!
Righteous Indignation – however is
acceptable – information below –
We know from Scripture that the anger of man does not accomplish the righteousness of God. We read in the Proverbs (as well as James) that we should be slow to anger. “Fits of anger” is also present in the list of “works of the flesh” in Galatians 5. There is certainly a type of anger, which is a vice. We see an angry Jonah confronted by God. The question asked of Jonah could be asked of us, “do you do well to be angry”?
Yet, we also are confronted with Jesus at times being angry and indignant. Jesus was clearly angry when he cursed the fig tree and when he cleared out the temple. There are also several places where we are confronted with God’s wrath and anger towards sin. It is apparent, then, that not all anger is sinful. It is possible that anger is an expression of love. There must be some sort of righteous anger. But how can we tell if we are experiencing righteous indignation or simply creating a God in our own image and giving ourselves permission to outrage?
Brant Hansen explains this conundrum well, and encourages us to pause:

What Is Righteous Indignation?
One of the most helpful resources on anger is Uprooting Anger by Robert D. Jones. Jones outlines three criteria for determining whether anger is righteous anger. First, righteous anger reacts against actual sin. Most of our anger comes from our preferences or desires not being met. If the guy in front of me at the donut shop takes the last apple fritter, my anger towards him is not justified. The apple fritter example is an easy one, but what about the congregant who finds themselves in a rage because another believer brought an opened can of soda into the worship space? She’s upset because she feels that God’s holiness is being trampled upon. But is she correct? Is this something clearly outlined in the Bible? Does she do well to be angry? If anger is to be righteous it will be from that which is clearly defined as sin.

The Washington Post reported on Tuesday, July 25, that the music video is now six seconds shorter than when it was originally uploaded on July 14. News footage from Fox 5 Atlanta depicting Black Lives Matter demonstrations and protests in 2020 has seemingly been removed from the initial video.
Additional changes were made to the end of the video, per the Post. The new version no longer includes an older man discussing small-town life or footage of a man in a baseball cap, both of which appeared in the final 30 seconds.

We now know why Jason Aldean’s “Try That in a Small Town” music video was edited … because the production company skirted the rules and used FOX footage without permission.
Sources connected to the music video production tell TMZ … back when they were producing the video, the company that produced it reached out to FOX on May 8 and asked for permission to use the 6 seconds of video shot by FOX 5 Atlanta … showing violence at a BLM rally.
We’re told the folks at FOX asked for more information ... specifically the lyrics of the song. We’re told the production company sent FOX a link to the song — which was released May 19 — but the protocol was to send the lyrics in writing, which they never did.
The music video was released July 14 and the footage was in the vid, projecting on the courthouse behind Jason.
Our sources say a week ago, FOX reached out to the production company and asked them to remove the video to avoid any legal action — which was described to us as a “polite ultimatum” — and the production company complied.
