First time someone played something by him for me to hear woulda been around 1982 or 1983. I thought it was a cover of Hey Joe but a brief YouTube lookup did not find it unless I didn’t dig deep enough. I recall being blown away by how he played.

I was lucky enough to discover him in 1971 and had his first 2 albums by Spring ’72 and his 3rd album Boomer’s Story later that year.
I learned a fair amount of his slide guitar style — at an amateur level, but enough to be playing several of his songs in a bar band by New Years Eve 1972-73 — including Memo From Turner, off the Mick Jagger / Ry Cooder collaboration film music for the counterculture film Performance.
So I’m a deep, deep fan
The stuff that really throws me is his acoustic fingerpicked style, which is a life’s work, I’ve got to embark on a renewed campaign to work more that repertoire out.

In Mexico City there was/is a Spanish restaurant in the Polanco neighborhood that was home to several cats. The kitties were quite well behaved, never jumped on tables, etc., and unobtrusively accepted nibbles from patrons.
And there is a pub in Shrewsbury, UK, which is/was home to multiple Great Danes. When we walked into it we were having a very difficult time adjusting from sunlight and thought the carpet looked a bit lumpy.
And then it moved.
We counted 5 at least😂
At the outdoor tables of the cafe at the Archeological Museum in Delphi, Greece there were scores of cats waiting to be fed by the tourists. Never jumped on the tables, either.

When she was two months old, Dr. Pilley started teaching Chaser proper nouns, beginning with a blue ball.

One of the things he developed for increasing intelligence was preparing a series of pictures or photographs of say, dogs, or other sets of cats, birds, and other animals. Seeing these, the child would infer what makes a dog a dog.
Suppose the pictures shown are a beagle, a golden retriever, a bulldog, a dachshund, etc., say ten or 15 different dogs, but there is NO Dalmatian or chihuahua in the pictures shown.
Do you have any doubt that the child, when he does see a Dalmatian or a chihuahua in real life, will point and say Mommy, Mommy, look, a dog!
Maybe the dog researchers could try this method out.

I listened to an interview on entrepreneurship of the CEO Andrew Crapuchettes on Canon+ (a good source of faith based content) and it became apparent to me that followers of Christ are not helping build the kingdom by accepting and tolerating the ways of the world that we’re seeing play out. We can do that in other peaceful ways, throwing sand in the machinery sort of by changing where we work, where we shop. This is not a new idea but practically applying it here in the context of employment’s new to me. It is way past time to change some big things in our every day lives. I am a small business owner and am always working toward improvement. Have a great day.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Good morning all!
Been watching racing! It is the 2 million dollar week at Eldora at Rossville, OH. Eldora is a very fast 1/2 mile dirt track owned and operated by Tony Stewart. It is a first class operation and Tony is totally involved in running the show down on the track. He is a racer that loves racing and has worked hard and made the investment to make Eldora the top of the class in dirt track sprint car racing.
These three nights are billed as the highest paying races in sprint car dirt track racing and the purse for the finale on Saturday night is a million dollars. With so much money on the line the drivers really hang it out there.
The track at Eldora is so fast that some drivers won’t run there. But last night they had 83 cars racing to win one of the two feature races which paid $12,000 to win and those were just the preliminary races.
Brad Sweet won the first one and Rico Abreu, an excellent driver, won the second feature race. Rico is a little person.

How the self emptying rain gauge works.
Inside there is a little teeter totter in the base. In the middle of the teeter totter there is a splitter. Each end of the teeter toter has a very small rectangular cup. As the cup fills it gets heavier and goes down and dumps the water an the other side comes up and starts to fill. The volume of the cup is known so each time one side or other dumps the amount is recorded and reported on the station tab as the appropriate fraction of an inch of rain.
I mounted the rain gauge on the top rail of my deck furthest from the house to make sure it is level and that I have easy access to it. I will bring it in for the winter and take the batteries out and clean it and then put it back out come spring. Though they say it can be left out during the winter, I think it is better that I bring it when ice and snow are the predominate forms of precipitation.

It’s mowing day. Already picked up sticks, reeled in the water hose from the garden, and moved the vehicles in the driveway. I have to mow part of my gravel driveway because of the weeds. Won’t spray it because of my well. Now resting my leg and hydrating and eating some bold Gardini’s chex mix for salt.
The next step is weed wacking and trimming.
Too much wind to burn off my burn pile. My 8′ diameter fire ring is once again full. I don’t just burn dead fall in it. I also burn cardboard, like the boxes my new plantation blinds come in.
To keep the ash from building up too high I shovel it out and put in one of my trash bins.
Baked chicken, mashed potatoes and country gravy and peas for dinner tonight. Then with a big insulated cup with ice, Jack Daniels with non- coke in hand, I will go over to watch the races at El Dora with Steve on Flo TV in his barn.
