It’s been a while since we had a genuine Treehouse challenge. So, today I stumbled upon an excellent opportunity for each Treeper to test their mental stamina, and the contest has benefits.
Yesterday Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was asked on Fox News, essentially, why he could not relate to people [video segment below fold]. Ron responded by saying, essentially, ‘hey, who cares, did you see how much money we’re raising‘. People immediately started being snarky and discussing it. However, the real answer can be found in this Treehouse challenge below.

Here was Ron DeSantis being asked why he cannot relate to people.
I made it to the 5:97 mark, but my head was ready to explode from that motormouth.
Perfect description of this DeSAntis woman Medamorphus.
I lasted about a minute.
I got to where she was babbling something about a snow cone machine and lost it.
All of a sudden it seemed like she wasn’t speaking English any more because nothing she was saying made any sense to me and I was done with her.
And neither of them are AUTHENTIC. It’s SO OBVIOUS.
That gets to the broader point.
The campaign is in trouble.
They finally admit the campaign is in trouble,…and THIS is their solution?
The thinking (if you can call it that?) is what?
Emphasising you they are YOUNG, at the age themselves where they are having young children?
Hoping parents raising young children will relate?
I don’t freakin know, really,..and I think its obviousthe consultants raking up the billionaires $, haven’t a clue, either.
Surprised they haven’t brought out the family dog, …thats probably next.
RDS is New Coke, and the Billionairs are the Coca-cola board, refusing to hear that the product SUCKS.
VERY simolar to Ukraine, the RDS campaign will continue to fight, till the last Ukrainian.

When a person begins to live a life of simile, does their experience of life lived become a simulation? I’ve read more than few exhortations that we’re all living in a simulation. Warhol had his own spin, as have others. And what of all the reality shows that became so popular in recent years? Are they part of the so-called simulation?
Perhaps some are. John Bradshaw used to refer to a phenomenon he called “otherating” further characterizing the risk to the affected person as ceasing to live as a human being to instead live as “a human doing.”
The broader crisis of spirit and authenticity seems very real. Perhaps this is why they hate Trump so.
In all honesty, she should be the one running for President.

I think I made it about 10 minutes but honestly it could’ve been about 5.
Just felt longer.
2-1/2 minutes. Does she talk non-stop like that for the entire interview? Who cares about her kid needing to use the bathroom? Whew!!! As a grandmother, I enjoy “kid” stories from friends or relatives – but I wouldn’t enjoy that story even from them.
, I got to 5 minutes when Maddison was tugging at her shirt, wanted to go to the bathroom. That woman made me super hyper, wow she needed some Lorazepam at least 5 mg. to calm her the hell down. No thank you, can’t take a person like that. Ron is just yuk, and to think I thought he was good for Florida 2 years ago. Perhaps, there is something wrong with me?? 22 long minutes and 44 seconds. That’s it. My mind is now numb. I’m ready to ban all women from politics that was so bad. OK, all Democrat women should be banned. Even though I lost the test I won by keeping my sanity and hitting the pause button.

Well, thought I quit watching before I lost it but apparently not! Thanks for bringing me back to reality! It was mind numbing.

I lasted through the video. Fascinating. No drugs, I do have a bedside peppermint tea since it is too hot to sleep. We do not have air-conditioned anything on the farm.
This is why I have never had a large group of women friends on a regular basis. I prefer other women who are a bit more grounded and less self important. Momma Bear is overdone.
The word right seems to have taken over as a filler for the more educated rather than like. Ron says right a lot as does his wife.
She has ambition and rambles. I ramble and it drives my husband nuts. Does she cook? What if her kids were not allowed to play with slime in the house? Glad she beat cancer though. My best friend beat cancer. What if people just asked a veteran in the checkout line about when he or she went in and got a story out!
I had watched it earlier and lasted less than 30 seconds. I made it to when she was explaining her daughter going to bed in full queen regalia. . or something. Long enough to assess that her mouth runs faster than her brain.

The word “SNARK” was the answer in a “Wall Street Journal” crossword puzzle the other day . . . Seinfeld humor . . . I did not realize that was what that was called until I happened to fill in the word with letters from other words . . . I was a late-comer to Seinfeld, discovered it late at night in re-runs . . . Cosmo one of my favorites, loved the episodes where he got crazy for Kenny Rodgers chicken, so silly.

No wonder RDS is not good with folks. He probably gets enough lecturing from her to last a lifetime, & she probably controls everything in the family anyway.
She is a motor mouth & says a lot of nothing, & she reminds me a lot of John Fetterman’s wife…and she did take a deep breath, once.
Having raised 6 kids I also got the feeling she was constantly, in her own way, apologizing for her kids. She was just too open about that part of her life & something just did not seem right. Like it was scripted. I can’t put my finger on it but the whole time I did watch, something did not feel right.
And not once in the over 8 minutes I watched did she mention RDS… So, she’s a bit self centered/narcissistic.
Kids are kids & they do kid stuff & 8:53 was my limit…
I lasted to 4:23, and I’m someone who frequently will persist through an entire long form interview that I find interesting and where I am learning something new. The 1st lady of Florida is beautiful. She talks nonstop. Perhaps this is why she’s attracted to an introvert husband, and visa versa. In the time I listened, the subject matter was not particularly compelling.
I couldn’t even start and I’ll gladly take the worst loser position. I have better things to do with whatever seconds I would have used up listening to these two wannabe’s.

I made it to 8:10. Mrs. Desantis talked for 4:18 from the start mark, without taking a breath or pausing. I had the impression she’s spent a good deal of time studying how “normal” people speak and relate to each other. She seemed very eager to show how much she’d learned.

31 seconds was all I could stand of WalMart Melania. She lost me when she bragged about the fantastic, incredible, amazing accomplishment of having the 1st baby born to a sitting Florida governor in 50 years!
Superstar (in her own mind) Casey DeSantis thinks EVERYTHING she says is so FASCINATING, while coming across as a part time 3rd-rate local weekend TV morning host who doesn’t get enough attention at home .
Banality, flattery, talking points, all veneer and little substance of what matters.
Had low expectations, did not disappoint nor surprise.
Lots of eye rolling ensued before the end.
Plenty of talk of economic self-sufficiency but no detail on why America First economic policy is correct for maximizing opportunities.
Could go on, but I do not need to write a treatise on all the shortcomings.
If I were to describe with one word; inauthentic.
Regarding the Governor: unlike Trump, he lacks the personality and charisma necessary to command everyone’s attention when he enters the room. Note that his fundraising coffer is most likely primarily from private interest, not small donors, all soon to dry up. Sadly, his run in 2024 May kill his future political aspirations. I used to really like him until his true being has been revealed.
Some people choose to use the word sadly when talking about this Ron and Casey Reveal however I am glad its happening.

I proudly admit I spent significantly more time reading the commentary from Treepers than watching the videos, and feel my reading time was better spent than the brief viewing time..

I don’t care about any of the nonsense she spewed, but at least they were new boring stories. Not the ones I had heard before ad nauseam. But I ended it because she was gearing up to go over one I had heard before, taking care of the FL Governor’s mansion, becausse everyone can relate to that right?
I didn’t even know she was talking to the Iowa Governor.
If I was a mom who took time out of my day for this I’d be pissed.
I think she raised all that money for Florida hurricane relief because people said I’ll just write you a check if you’ll shut up! I imagine Ron’s time away at Congress was a big relief for him.

It was late. My apologies. Actually if the video started at 2:15 and I watched to 8:00, I watched a whole 5:45. It sure seemed a lot longer.
I had been watching gardening videos on yuckboob at 1.5 speed (my standard for just about anything) and tho’t maybe I had not changed it because she talked so fast. Then I realized this was on Rumble and the speed was set to Normal.
I’ve read a number of comments and have decided not to listen to any of it.

I watched to the end — Obviously, DeSantis married up. Okay, Casey talks fast, but she appears to be grounded, even occasionally self-deprecating, with a good understanding of the issues that matter. She seems genuinely guided by her faith and understands the proper role of government. (One has to watch for more than a few minutes to discover these characteristics.) I like her.
Another take from someone “in WA” who watched the whole video clip:
Use of “appears to be” and “seems” suggests the user is unwittingly sharing the results of an informal Rohrschach Diagnostics Test; a test designed to help reveal a persons subjective filters that distort perceptions of the outside world.
Once understood, “seems” comments provide invaluable feedback that, to use a pool term, can quickly improve ones eye ie help compensate for subjective distortions of reality.
“Obviously”, I hope these insights are viewed as heartfelt gifts that were offered because I was ” genuinely guided by (my) faith” and life experiences.

I kept waiting for the sentence to finally end but kept going and going and going. Is it me being cranky or is there a serial lack of self awareness under the influence of a live microphone.

With Ron the logorrhea was with the Fox talking head initially while Ron sat there stone-faced, except for the non-stop blinking…is that a tell or what? I got 10 seconds into his response…
