It’s been a while since we had a genuine Treehouse challenge. So, today I stumbled upon an excellent opportunity for each Treeper to test their mental stamina, and the contest has benefits.
Yesterday Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was asked on Fox News, essentially, why he could not relate to people [video segment below fold]. Ron responded by saying, essentially, ‘hey, who cares, did you see how much money we’re raising‘. People immediately started being snarky and discussing it. However, the real answer can be found in this Treehouse challenge below.

I watched the whole interview. I am a Floridian, (53 years), in my mid-70s, and enjoyed the interview.
The speed-info is how some women talk. Especially when they are excited about a subject.
This was about 2 women sharing information to women from other states. And agreeing that government needs to step away.
She may come across as a strong, pushy woman to you, but the fact that She’s out there, trying to make a difference is enlightening.
So, I watched the whole interview. And learned quite a bit.

I am at 6:28 time marker and all I hear is she going on and on about her life being so hard with three young kids. It seems more like she thinks she is in a therapy session with her psychiatrist, but the reality is she is forcing the audience to listen to her daily “struggles” of juggling between a full time mother and being the “governor’s” wife.
If you cannot see that she is emasculating “the governor” (her words not mine – it is always the governor and never “Dad” or “my husband” or for that matter even “Ron”) in front of her audience and national TV then you need to few steps back to get a better perspective to see what is really happening here.
Don’t get me wrong, we went through this phase of having 2 and 4 years old in the household. But Mrs DeSantis is only coming across as if she is a single mother tending to her three little children while the ” governor” is AWOL from his duty as a father.
Can you help me to what time marker I should jump to where she starts talking about what the “governor” will do as president that is actually not a “carbon copy” of President Trump’s policy?
Note: I hope you still remember what “carbon copy” looks like. There is a reason I didn’t use the word “copy” or “photocopy” or “Xerox”.

You are obviously a respectful, kind person & you are correct it was a female oriented interview. That type of interview usually does involve discussing your children. I think (my opinion only) many people on this site are just wondering why she seemed to be trying so hard to relate, much like her hubby. She is not evil or vile like some others who have actually attained the status of First Lady & she probably is a good Mom.
She & Ron, as one person stated, are peaking too early and are taking bad advice from the “king makers”.
Ron had potential. Today we don’t have time to make anymore mistakes. OUR children & grandchildren’s futures are also at stake. If We The People lose 2024 I see no chance (other than the hand a gracious God) of turning this country around.

I only disagree on one point. Ron never had potential. If Trump hadn’t made him governor, none of the high rollers now financing Ron would even know he existed.
Good point, well taken. However, I did like that he sent a busload to Sacramento. But, also to your point maybe that was a stunt to get noticed as well.

So I did a little test to see how much speaking DeSantis did vs. the questioner, and these were the numbers:

They were talking about government stepping out of the way after it has stepped in to connect people with outside help. That sounds fine, until you start wondering if the government is really always going to step out of the way.

Four minutes with her and two and half with him. He just grates on me.
In the interest of being truthful, I lasted much longer than I expected to…
Somewhere between “our little spit-fire”, “jumping off any table”, the slim ankle camo pants, the Mamas for DeSantis tee and “that last question I have to nail” coupled with the tug on my sleeve crap followed by the inevitable “ I have to go to the bathroom” I had to shut it down and take a long drink of my Bloody Mary. I was probably @ the 5 minute or so mark. A Karen is an accurate description.
However, it was the next video that really did me in, just looking at the the little pouty faced boy being asked such hard questions by the big bad fox newsman made me gag. Of course the default answer was “but look at all the funds we have raised” yeah, when you get 70? million from RGA?? Who will you answer to as President would have been a reasonable follow up. I shut that one down immediately.
Another quick truth, I used to like him as a Governor until he sold out Trump. Go figure?
To be honest, had it not being the sunlight from Sundance, I think many of us would still be thinking of the “governor” as the heir apparent to President Trump.
It takes a lot for someone to impress me but I always pay attention to when Sundance is writing in his “Nostradamus” mode. He has always been spot on every.single.time. He is like the “Oracle” from Matrix – doesn’t force you to accept his words or tell you what you must do since at the end we will do what we will do.
I truly hope that President Trump personally reads this blog. He will have much better options to strategize and prepare for what is coming his way.
On a related note, the CAGOP conniving scheme is deja vu of 2020 election rules change by dems in PA, WI, etc. No wonder we thought that President Trump was blind sided when in reality his “advisors” actually kept him in the dark and worked with the dems helping them steal the election. Ironically, even after that, the dems actually had to resort to “ballot stuffing” in the middle of the night to install the current occupant in the White House.

A young couple with 3 kids and no money are easy targets for the elite donors. Think Clinton, Obama, Rubio, Newsom, Kamala, Buttigieg, AOC, Rep. eyepatch from texas, etc.
Easy target means no character, morality or love of country. So good to know who DeSantis is and what’s important to him. Reasonable excuses for why someone does something simply avoids the telling the truth about their true character.
Disagree that Ron could ever be a contender. We’d all have to have amnesia for that to be come true.

Not that I want DeSantis to win, but it would help Casey if her handler gave some good advice. Casey should disregard her TV training (where she was trained to fill dead air with babble). She should draw on her best moments in TV, when she connected with others. When she sits down on a stage, she should flip the script and say, “Today, let’s do something different. I’d like to hear from you, first. I have a good idea of what’s important to communities, but I really need to hear from you, about your concerns, what your hopes for the future are. Let’s start with that.” Then ask the audience questions, and for God’s sake, listen instead of talking at people.
Instead of rushing to read a prepared script, selling your bona fides, or sharing your “I’m just like you” homespun stories, candidates and their spouses should connect with people first. It sets the tone for the (staged) event, sets the priorities (focus on the people, above all), and would go a long way shedding anxieties about “being perfect.” People drop the act and worry a lot less about being perfect when they turn their attention to others’ needs.
Coki, she had a TV show around 2014, in Jacksonville, if what i read is true. I think it was a ‘golf’ show. Her mom is or was a speech pathologist/therapist and daddy, an optometrist, if what I read is correct.
She is playing to the young moms around her age bracket.

I think Vivek is the lone exception and he is exactly what he is and notice he doesn’t need a teleprompter or notes. GOPe elite donor milions can’t repair his campaign now with the Am First/MAGA voter base.
As an Ad Agency Man, I could and did spend big $ to get potential consumers to taste a product the first time,…. but if they don’t like the taste of the product, all the $ spent trying to sell them on a 2nd try is just good $ wasted,… just my opinion
