House Speaker Kevin McCarthy on Tuesday signaled some doubts about whether former President Donald Trump can defeat President Joe Biden and return to the White House, but agreed that Trump’s policies are better.
At first, in an interview on CNBC, the California Republican, when asked if Trump can defeat Biden in the November 2024, general election, the speaker said, “Yeah, he can beat Biden,” as his “policies are better, [more] straightforward than Biden’s policies.”
But when asked if Trump can win, considering he is facing two criminal indictments, McCarthy showed some doubts in his answer.
“Can he win that election?” said McCarthy. “Yeah, he can. The question is, Is he the strongest to win the election? I don’t know that answer.”

My dear stepdad was afflicted with Alzheimer’s disease – Dad was diagnosed with dementia, possible Alzheimer’s disease in 2000 –
he was all right for some years but as time went by, it got to be more intense to be sure he did not get himself into any trouble as he made his repeated rounds in the house, checking the doors and lights and then actually getting into heated one-sided discussions with that guy in the mirror (he would extend his hand to greet the guy, and he would even say his own name, but he did not recognize that he was greeting himself.
So you come along as if you are at the trade show too and say hi, what’s going on, do ya want to grab a bite to eat” – then he would say, “oh that guy was so rude” – then get him re-oriented away from that damn mirror (if you can, gradually eliminate mirrors where possible and don’t have windows that seem like mirrors at night – have curtains drawn in the evening so he doesn’t worry about who all those people are, milling about).
Mom wanted to keep him at home and I was able to help her do that, so she could get sleep, take a breather. When he would get ready to change into his pajamas for the evening, I would help him do that so Mom could put her feet up for a time out. One evening as I brought him his slippers and his cute red and black plaid pajamas, he exclaimed, “You’re not my wife!” Like, what the hell are YOU doing here, getting my pajamas? WHO are you, someone that got into the house?
The thing was, I admired him and loved him even more, he didn’t want some strange gal in his bedroom. Then I went and got Mom so he could see I was OK with her and Mom finished helping him that time.
Who are you and does it really matter, God knows who I am. The good thing is if he knows you love him, that you care about him, whoever you are, whatchamacallit. One time when I got back to the house after running some errands, Mom told me that he had asked, “where is that little blonde girl who always helps me?”

When he passed away on the day after his 98th birthday in 2015, it was about 2:30 on that Saturday afternoon, and then dear God took him home. He had not been on hospice even or going through anything – the only pill he took was his Namenda. He was just sitting there between the two of us.
I look at President Joe Biden going through his obvious decline and just cannot stand that his wife allows this plus one SHOULD seem to be concerned for the country also, to have your obviously compromised spouse in this most important position.
Sometimes I start to feel sympathetic towards the President and then I see him obviously try to “cop a feel” as he did recently with Eva Longoria and am reminded nauseously of his predations on all those little girls at the Senate swearing-in ceremonies. Still at it, man. He may have Alzheimer’s like Dad but he is a different kind of person altogether and not basically kind or moral and that seems to prevail.
But all those people who surround him, who put him into that position and are keeping him there, are just as vile for doing so.

I feel for you so much. I am going through this with my young wife (late 60s). I am convinced that a person’s true character comes out when they have this type of dementia. Joe has always been a POS, and his dementia drops all barriers to hiding his true nature. Your father must have been a truly wonderful man. I know my wife is truly wonderful. Every day I think about the vows, through sickness or health, richer or poorer, never forsaking your partner. I will never let anyone hurt her and will always be by her side.

Should he win a second term, Trump absolutely should keep fixing the trade imbalance. But even more importantly he MUST hold back from treating China as the enemy the Deep State has been framing it as.
Apparently, those same people think it is a good idea to fight Russia and China at the same time. It’s an open question whether the US can do either one separately right now.
It’s not a good idea to start trouble with either of them, ever.

I write this expert report as a British engineer, inventor, patent writer and weapons research scientist; an engineer with a materials science background, and inventor of the world’s first binocular optical wave guides, weapons sight systems, infrared thermal imaging head up displays, molecular reactors, signal processing, and transducer design, to name a limited few.

Cyber Command USA had been made aware of my expertise and specifically requested my advice with regard to an unusual 5G antenna design deployed across the USA. I have been extremely fortunate that most (but not all) of my research and product development work has been carried out outside of the Official Secrets Acts (OSA) legislation.
I have acted as a witness and provided statements in several court cases, exposing the lack of any credible evidence that the 5G light-emitting diode (LED) network and planned neural connection to the 5G grid are safe.

I believe it subjects all voting decisions by state legislatures to court review.
As we have often heard, the state legislatures are tasked by the constitution with setting the rules for elections. Much of the 2020 changes in voting rules were made by fiat by officials or by judges.
So, judges are now the determinors of all voting rules.

Unfortunately antisemitism is increasing across the board, particularly among Millennials and Gen-Z. Gonzalez belongs to the former generation, so no big surprise there.
Anti-Semitism rears it’s ugly head here quite often and it’s disturbing how many “Likes” it produces. These anti-Semitic fans will offer up links, generally with patriotic names, and if you go there you’ll find maybe a third have anti-Semitic titles. When you take the time to browse the articles without overtly anti-Semitic headers, you’ll find almost all have anti-Semitic references and remarks throughout.
I’ve been here for many years and it is MUCH worse than it was 3-4-5 years ago.
I’m beginning to think the Lord is sending me a message. Maybe I should be converting to Judaism? Maybe with Jews catching so much flak … maybe THEY are over the target and maybe that’s where I belong?

I don’t think this Twitter format is going to last. It is not his best option-notwithstanding his legal issues with Fox. But he does still have a large following for now.
No reliable schedule for one. The segments are too short, irregular and easily forgotten. Compared to his 5 night a week Fox Show this lack of consistency is not an impressive way to return to the limelight. He needs to find a network or station and a regular slot on air. I, like many others looked forward to his daily 8pm show. Random tweets are not comparable.

Have enjoyed reading and learning from this site for years. This is my first post. I had to chime in on ms. megyn. I remember years ago when she was on at midday, that once she was thrashing republicans for opposing gay marriage. Of course she was taking up for her buddy shep smith. I plainly remember being called a “hater” by her. Not long after, she did the smear job on Pres. Trump. So, please megyn, spare us your righteous indignation. She called us “haters” for opposing this years ago, and now we see plainly the “next level” .

I did not know of her before this year, don’t know the other person you mentioned either – I haven’t watched TV for many years so had to figure out who she is from people/shares on this site… your bit of history helps me know better too. You’ve put this bit in context for me… I had no clue about her… my attitude became “big-time reporters = actors/trained circus animals = say & do as directed”. I got sick of that aspect of TV & just gave it up.
