Fossil fuels are not from fossils. It’s just a name. Oil originated from a period when warm seas covered the Earth. Jurassic Period. Time of dinosaurs. Hence the name “fossil fuels”. Oil comes from biomass (seaweed, plants) that’s been cooked under high pressure for eons. It’s just a name.
Evidence of hydrocarbons on moons are evidence of ancient plant life – likely underwater, such as a warm sea near volcanic activity. Could be methane-based or other. All possible.

I will guarantee that beyond even the third day, the forecast will start changing: e.g. yesterday the 10-day forecast was predicting rain (60-70% chance) for 3 days straight for days 6, 7, and 8.
Today that is completely gone! No chance of rain for those days!
So, ask Chicken Little, when forecasting cannot successfully predict anything beyond about 2 or 3 days, why we should believe any forecast involving years and decades?!

Believe I read the whole fossil fuel thing was created to say that it was not renewable but limited….but in reality it actually regenerates where it was first drilled. No, it is the celebration of a significant event in the history of the United States of America – and it was Republicans that made it happen. It should be celebrated, imo.

The only significance is that is the day the slaves in Galveston, Texas finally learned they had been freed. All southern slaves had been freed by Abraham Lincoln in the Emancipation Proclamation on September 22, 1862 and it went into effect January 1, 1863.
Those Texans didn’t bother to tell their slaves they were actually free until June 19, 1865, a full two plus year later.

Gone is the emancipation proclamation. (Even when that was what empowered freeing these slaves.)
Gone is the Civil War and the many slaves freed prior to the end of the Confederacy.

Gone are the Union soldiers that freed these slaves.
Gone are the refusenik Democrats that wouldn’t free slaves until forced.
Gone is the 13th Amendment, that was needed to free slaves outside of the Confederacy. (And did so half a year after Juneteenth. Definitely not the last slaves freed.)
And gone are the renegotiations of Indian treaties to end slavery in Indian territories in accordance with the 13th Amendment.
Juneteenth celebrates a real event where slaves were freed in Texas by Union soldiers occupying the defeated Confederacy imposing Lincoln’s emancipation proclamation. Most of the slaves held in the confederacy had already been freed. Slaves still existed in slaveholding states of the Union. And without the 13th Amendment, the status of those freed under Lincoln’s proclamation was at risk.
Told in context, it is a great story. But it is meant to overwrite that story and fabricate a new alternative independence day celebration that tries to make independence day a fraud.
And it is rapidly becoming a day or weekend for blacks to slaughter blacks.
It is a shame to have such an important day for Texas abused in this fashion.

From history the Emancipation Proclamation signed by President Abraham Lincoln Edamern affected on Jan 1, 1863. That was tho official date of the abolishing of Slavery in the United States. Juneteenth of 1865 is a date that some slaves in a western part of Texas found out about it when told by the union army that came to occupy that part of Texas.
Why are people making such big deal. Without the Emancipation Proclamation this date means nothing.
The pertinent dates for the 13th Amendment are also in winter. January 1865 and December 1865.
There is and has been a legitimate celebration of Juneteenth in Texas where it took place. Makes great sense to celebrate.
