While executive officials issued new emergency decrees at a furious pace, state legislatures and Congress—the bodies normally responsible for adopting our laws—too often fell silent. Courts bound to protect our liberties addressed a few—but hardly all—of the intrusions upon them. In some cases, like this one, courts even allowed themselves to be used to perpetuate emergency public-health decrees for collateral purposes, itself a form of emergency-lawmaking-by-litigation.
Doubtless, many lessons can be learned from this chapter in our history, and hopefully serious efforts will be made to study it. One lesson might be this: Fear and the desire for safety are powerful forces. They can lead to a clamor for action—almost any action—as long as someone does something to address a perceived threat. A leader or an expert who claims he can fix everything, if only we do exactly as he says, can prove an irresistible force.
We do not need to confront a bayonet, we need only a nudge, before we willingly abandon the nicety of requiring laws to be adopted by our legislative representatives and accept rule by decree. Along the way, we will accede to the loss of many cherished civil liberties—the right to worship freely, to debate public policy without censorship, to gather with friends and family, or simply to leave our homes. We may even cheer on those who ask us to disregard our normal lawmaking processes and forfeit our personal freedoms. Of course, this is no new story. Even the ancients warned that democracies can degenerate toward autocracy in the face of fear [citing Aristotle’s Politics].
But maybe we have learned another lesson too. The concentration of power in the hands of so few may be efficient and sometimes popular. But it does not tend toward sound government. However wise one person or his advisors may be, that is no substitute for the wisdom of the whole of the American people that can be tapped in the legislative process.
Decisions produced by those who indulge no criticism are rarely as good as those produced after robust and uncensored debate. Decisions announced on the fly are rarely as wise as those that come after careful deliberation. Decisions made by a few often yield unintended consequences that may be avoided when more are consulted. Autocracies have always suffered these defects. Maybe, hopefully, we have relearned these lessons too.
In the 1970s, Congress studied the use of emergency decrees. It observed that they can allow executive authorities to tap into extraordinary powers. Congress also observed that emergency decrees have a habit of long outliving the crises that generate them; some federal emergency proclamations, Congress noted, had remained in effect for years or decades after the emergency in question had passed.
At the same time, Congress recognized that quick unilateral executive action is sometimes necessary and permitted in our constitutional order. In an effort to balance these considerations and ensure a more normal operation of our laws and a firmer protection of our liberties, Congress adopted a number of new guardrails in the National Emergencies Act.
Despite that law, the number of declared emergencies has only grown in the ensuing years. And it is hard not to wonder whether, after nearly a half century and in light of our Nation’s recent experience, another look is warranted. It is hard not to wonder, too, whether state legislatures might profitably reexamine the proper scope of emergency executive powers at the state level.
At the very least, one can hope that the Judiciary will not soon again allow itself to be part of the problem by permitting litigants to manipulate our docket to perpetuate a decree designed for one emergency to address another.
Make no mistake—decisive executive action is sometimes necessary and appropriate.
But if emergency decrees promise to solve some problems, they threaten to generate others. And rule by indefinite emergency edict risks leaving all of us with a shell of a democracy and civil liberties just as hollow.”

I just got back from Europe. ATMs in numerous countries are few and far between. Many of the banks have pulled out of various countries so ATM choices are minimal.

So why is Obama being given a pass when he is expelled 35 Russian Diplomats in December of 2016 for election interference. This action, IMO, was just to create some authenticity of Russia colluding with Trump hoax when he knew it was fabricated.

Watergate was nothing compared to what people did in 2016 and beyond to stop President Trump from being elected and then damage his presidency. Nixon was disgraced and forced to resign and people went to jail for Watergate. I guess Gates just thinks some bad things happened in 2016, but oh well, we need to move on.

US and NATO Plan Attack on Russia

There is a grave risk that in three weeks’ time US and NATO forces will attempt direct combat against Russia.
The operational plan is to strike from Romanian airspace in the south and the Baltic states in the north, in camouflage of the NATO exercise called “Air Defender 23”, and under cover of US F-16 fighter aircraft purportedly operated by Ukrainian pilots but fuelled, directed, and guarded by more than two hundred US and NATO aircraft, including the most advanced US air war fighter, the F-35.
“This [is] the largest deployment exercise since the foundation of NATO”, according to the cover story published by NATO headquarters. “ Commanded at US bases in Germany, ostensibly led by German officers, a Bundeswehr “fact sheet” claims “100 [US] Air National Guard aircraft from 35 different states will make the leap across the Atlantic to participate in Air Defender 2023. In addition to the world’s most modern jets, the F35, more than 20 different types of aircraft and Airmen from 24 nations will practice air warfare operations together over Germany, but also over eastern Europe on the NATO border. Among them Eurofighter, F18, F16, A10, [Saab] Gripen jets.”
Including the Ukrainian regime in Kiev as one of “our partners in East and South-Eastern Europe”, the German military announcement says “we want to promote collective defense of common values (freedom, democracy, prosperity) – attack on one NATO nation is an attack on responsiveness of airpower – Allied air forces are first responders.”
Camouflaging US direction of the combined NATO attack operations from the Ramstein base in Germany, headquarters of the allied air command in Europe, are two parallel operations. “Two NATO exercises, RAMSTEIN DUST for NATOs Deployable Air Command and Control capability, the DARS, and RAMSTEIN GUARD for Electronic Warfare are linked into our exercise.”
In design since the start of the Russian Special Military Operation in February 2022, this plan of US and NATO air operations against Russia follows the defeat of the Ukrainian ground forces at Artemovsk (Bakhmut) and the strategic defeat of the US Patriot missile system at Kiev by the Russian hypersonic Kinzhal missile on May 16.
The use of NATO exercises to conceal active attacks on Russian targets was first demonstrated last September when the Nord Stream pipelines were blown up following the BALTOPS naval exercise. More recently, on May 13 a US-directed ambush of Russian aircraft was rehearsed when an Su-34 fighter-bomber, an SU-35 air-defence escort, and two Mi8 helicopters were hit simultaneously and downed in Russia.

They know not, and deserve not, what is now coming. Spare them!
Oh LORD, we also confess to you that “none of the Majority of Your People” ever subscribed to any of this. Therefore, we also Pray that you would act to defeat the evil mechanisms, set forth on a grander scale by your enemy, by which any of them were thus-far able to attain such a superior power over Your people. We ask that you use Your power to strike down these things, such that they might never again attain such power against Your people, even many generations(!!!) into the future.
Therefore, we implore you to now strike down, not only the immediate threat that your enemy has now arrayed against us, but also his ability to array such offenses against us in the future. Can someone please explain to me how the 14th amendment can be used to circumvent the will of Congress to increase the debt limit? It appears to me that the phrase “authorized by law” refers to an action of Congress, therefore, the President can’t act unilaterally to raise the debt ceiling. I’m pretty confident that the “shall not be questioned” phrase only applies once a bill has been passed in Congress and signed into law by the President. Therefore, no bill = no law. Am I missing something?

The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned. But neither the United States nor any State shall assume or pay any debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States, or any claim for the loss or emancipation of any slave; but all such debts, obligations and claims shall be held illegal and void.
The plain language of this Amendment was to invalidate the debts incurred by the Confederate States of America at the specific time when this Amendment was enacted. (And, probably, should never have been.) Its intended meaning did not stray beyond these very time-specific parameters.
The plain-language meaning of the word “law” is likewise clear, because the Constitution already plainly stated that only the Congress – specifically, the House of Representatives – could authorize “debts” incurred for any of the specific reasons described. The Executive, in fact, does not possess any lawful authority to create “public debt.”

While we watch this trainwreck in disbelief, central banks are preparing behind the scenes for the next phase of their financial reset – central bank digital currencies. A programmable CBDC system would enable “absolute control” over how, when, where, and by whom every single transaction is made. The implementation of a CBDC system is, without a doubt, the greatest threat to our financial freedom.
As part of this plan to roll out CBDCs, a stealth piece of legislation known as the Uniform Commercial Code, has been sliding through states unnoticed. The UCC is a set of standards designed to create uniformity among states to facilitate interstate commerce. However, recent changes to the UCC, overseen by the Uniform Law Commission, have embedded language to block cryptocurrencies while enabling CBDCs, hidden among hundreds of pages. The devil is always in the details. Tucked into the UCC amendments, the definition of “money” is amended to state “the term does not include an electronic record that is a medium of exchange recorded and transferable in a system that existed and operated for the medium of exchange before the medium of exchange was authorized or adopted by the government.” This is a sly way to block crypto because it is a “medium of exchange” that existed “before” the medium was adopted by the government. The language of course clearly paves the way for a CBDC as the implied “medium of exchange” to be “adopted by the government.”
This sinister language embedded in the UCC amendments has gone largely overlooked by state legislatures, and has already passed in 5 states, while there is legislation to amend the UCC still pending in more than 15 states. Some states have gotten wise to the sneaky tactic and changed the language to explicitly exclude central bank digital currency from the definition of money in the UCC. Florida and Indiana have both passed UCC amendments to exclude CBDCs from the definition of money, while the governor of South Dakota outright vetoed a bill containing the shifty language. These devious UCC amendments are a perfect example of why state legislation to protect the population from financial tyranny is so important.
Needless to say, we must act with the utmost urgency to protect our financial freedom and security at the state level, by urging state legislatures to pass meaningful legislation in each state to protect the use of cash, affirm gold and silver as legal tender, establish bullion depositories, and halt the implementation of central bank digital currencies. Do you know where your state stands on these important financial freedom issues? Check the list of legislation working through your state below, and then contact your state representatives to insist they take immediate and decisive action to secure your state’s financial freedom. If your state is lacking in proposed legislation in these key areas of financial freedom, check out what other states are doing, and then urge your representatives to propose similar legislation.

If the US government decides to pay its obligations in CBDC’s, then those states which are preventing CBDC’s from being accepted payments would be denying Social Security payments to seniors, Medicare and Medicaid payments to hospitals and doctors. Florida residents would not be able to buy online if the only electronic payment is in CBDC’s.
In addition, there is nothing in the Constitution that allows any state to have anything to do with money. It is a delegated power of Congress.
I think this is a PR stunt….
