My thoughts on what’s needed for service as an elected representative or elected office at any level:
You have been TAUGHT…you know that there is a presumption of innocence and people don’t have to prove it, contrary to what that paragon of statesmanship Pelosi said; you know that there is a protection against unreasonable search and seizure so no warrantless surveillance…; you know that Congress can only appropriate money for one two-year term, so if they get us into another war with never-ending funding they are in VIOLATION of the Constitution and they can be FIRED when your young people are being mangled; those are a few, for starters.
You cannot be CAUGHT…you have no liability for undisclosed crimes, at least none that are not fabricated from thin air (which is uncontrollable as long as those people skate free when they bring baseless litigation–something we as a people ought to look into, I think.)
You cannot be BOUGHT…you refuse the perk, the gift, the JOB for your otherwise unemployed relative; the never-ending buffet of groceries at their meetings; the ‘unearned media’ where your praises are sung and your vanity photo is published, from a corrupt media establishment (no matter how small the newspaper); taxpayer support for your extra deferred pension payments (I refused this); the huge taxpayer-funded ‘expense account’ allowing you to jet around to ‘conferences’ subsidized on the backs of people who are delinquent property tax interest-payers (happens in my locale, surely it’s not unique since there’s ‘nothing new under the sun’); you appreciate that everything you have in your work is being held in trust by YOU for those who really OWN it–think of HG Wells’ Outline of History where he said, “It is a universal conceit of mankind, that what we are once given to administer, we presently consider we OWN.”
So, Taught–not Caught–not Bought.

Target, $TGT, just reported that they will lose an additional $500 million to theft this year when compared to 2022.
In 2022, they lost $650 million to theft, meaning this year’s theft will exceed $1 billion.
Also in 2022, Walmart lost nearly $3 billion to theft leading to potential price increases.
This makes me glad that I haven’t stepped foot in a Target since they decided to allow men in womens restrooms. Not once.
I’m aware I still pay higher prices elsewhere, which is why I buy as little as possible now, only necessaries.

Went in last week thinking I might find one item that has alluded me everywhere. Right when I walked in there was a large trans/gay display with decor, clothing etc covered in rainbows and Love Means All (or something similar) all over it.
Turned and walked out.
Both almart and Target were ramping up their online business at the expense of their stores for quite some time.
Perhaps there are individuals who care whether these establishments go out of business, but I don’t think those at the top really do.
First we were told nobody wants to shop at “brick and mortar” businesses anymore, which is false.
Then we were told that shopping in person might kill us.
Now they are using the crime government encouraged as an excuse to get us all going cashless and doing all our shopping from home.
All according to plan.
What does this mean? It means facial recognition systems. This is why the theft is allowed. Let the problem get so bad that we will accept the solutions.

Spoke to the manager of a Wal Mart I frequent in Texas…soon to be Tejas…have known her for 10 years. Outside of Dallas County.
They finished inventory on May 1st…that particular location lost over 2.5 million to theft for the calendar year and less than 1 Million to idiot workers who mis labeled prices than what they should have been. They try to stop theft but if someone is stealing food they let them go but everything else they attempt to prosecute through local Police.
She said they have insurance to cover the theft but will result in higher prices overall to overcome the increase premiums and costs to hire decent workers.
If Target is only paying minimum wage to their employees … how can they expect them to get the prices right? /sarc.
I was paid $1.75/hr. at Tom Terry’s EXXON station in 1973. For that wage, I had to pump gas, take cash and cc transactions, clean windshields and check the oil, put air in tires, clean the entire station: bathrooms, pumps, and service bay floors. And then I had to balance the entire transactions of the day, set-up the cash registers for the next day, and deposit all extra cash in the floor safe.
I wonder how today’s minimum wage workers manage to walk upright today. Do I sound like my grandfather? Ha! He’d be appalled if he were alive today … because he instilled a WORK ETHIC in me.
It’s likely superfluous for a man to state he hasn’t shopped Walmart or Target in at least a generation, though that is true for myself. More applicable would be not shopping the box ‘man’ stores like Home Depot, Lowes, Cabelas, Dicks, Harbor Freight, stuff like that. I stopped that habit nearly ten years ago, save for the materials to roof the shop office in 2018.
Choices. I simply choose to eschew all large corporations and stick it to any I’m forced to deal with. As far as I’m concerned they’re all fascist minions of an oppressive Communist government. I’ll leave it at that out of respect for the guidelines here.
They have no balls to take the necessary steps to prevent the thefts. They would rather pass the costs on to the end consumer, US! They want to remain woke, be politically correct and don’t want to be called racists. They refuse to prosecute shoplifters or employees who steal. They have no instore trained personnel whose sole job is to catch and arrest shoplifters. They could hire off duty police officers or they could establish their own company police force who have powers of arrest. They will not do this because they do not want to be called racists. They could close every single store location in the high crime areas. There are numerous ways they could cut their loss to theft. Their woke legal staff and managers don’t want to do it. Cheaper to pass the costs on to us. Plus, the liberal court system is not going to do anything to help. Police will not respond to a shoplifting complaint unless the shop is willing to prosecute. The large retailers are not willing. The shoplifters and thieves know this.

Trump would have been better served by releasing the unredacted documents than by hiding the truth for years until it no longer mattered.
