I used to fear anger… I was taught that anger was useless.. I was taught it was a waste of energy. I was taught anger only lead to failure and mistakes. Until I learned to turn my anger into patience. Until I learned to turn my anger into purpose and practice. Try and try again I did.. and yes as a youth I failed.. over and over. But with age I learned that anger could be humbled into quiet purpose.. Can anger blind you, yes… Can anger deceive you, yes. Can it lead you astray, obviously.
Yet, control over your anger, control over your fear is a forge of purpose. Only through time and practice can you train and hone your mind for the quiet patience and planning that is needed for what comes next.
Cold anger focuses the mind and soul.
Working in emergency medicine, I learned to control my emotions; its NOT that you don’t feel them, its that you DAMPEN them, so they don’t become so strong that they divert your brain from other pursuits.
Computers are modeled after the brain; when you give your computer a complex task, its shuts down certain programs, because there is only so much RAM.
Similarly, when you place demands on your brain, it diverts parts of your brain from some tasks, to others.
For instance, engage in a two way conversation with someone, and you lose peripheral vision, as the parts of the brain that normally monitor peripheral vision are tasked with the thinking involved in conversation; both listening and understanding what the other person is saying, while simultaneously thinking about what you are going to say once they stop talking.
Similarly, it takes a lot of brain capacity, to feel emotions STRONGLY, whether its laughing or crying, for instance.
And so the brain shunts or shuts down the ‘program’ of critical thinking that is otherwuse always running in the background.
Critical thinking is vital in emergency medical situations, and also in mortal combat.
Simply can not ‘allow’ emotions to be felt so strongly that they overwhelm your critical thinking, or somebody dies.
It requires a constant effort, and is perfectly described in that poem “If” about “keeping your head while all around you are losing theres, and blaming you,..”?

I have written about this before, its “Manipulation 101” material.
Manipulation is getting someone to do say or believe something that they wouldn’t do on their own or if you simply asked them.
“Pass the salt?”
“Sure, here ya go.”
“Give me $5”
“Maybe, why?”
“Give me $1000?”
“In your dreams!”
The way con artists, marketers, politicians, sociopaths manipulate people, is by triggering a STRONG emotional responce, which shuts down critical thinking, just as they introduce the idea they want to insert, that they don’t want subject to critical thinking.
The “mark” is used to ONLY hearing from the “critical thinking” part of the brain, when it has something to say; that is, when it finds some flaw; if a sensory input, or idea “passes” critical thinkings review, it ‘says’ nothing.
Hence, strong emotional responce “mutes” critical thinking cause the emotion prioritises brain, we don’t “hear” anything from critical thinking, and so assume the idea is valid, sound, whatever.
ANY emotion works, IF the feeling is STRONG, hence another reason to try to keep our emotions under control; it gives us SOME defence against being manipulated whether by a con artist, politician etc.
Often, people are led to believe that anger is bad. Well, God is good! (PS. 107:11) Yet:
PS. 7:11 God is a just judge,
And God is angry with the wicked every day.
He does instruct us how to handle anger:
Eph. 4:26 “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath,

And the Apostle James says:

I’m not quite sure what you are pointing out. Of course, we are to choose to be loving at all times. God is Love! God also gets angry everyday with the wicked. He is Holy. Does He cease to Love when He is angry? Is God sinning when He gets angry? The problem is not with ‘anger’, the problem is with how we choose to handle ‘anger’. Was Jesus sinning when He turned over the tables of the money changers in the Temple?
If I may, I suggest you look up every word that you may have questions about…preferably in the Strong’s Concordance which gives you the original Hebrew and Greek definition of every word for a thorough study.
The English language is limited. For example… the word ‘is’. The word often translated ‘is’ in English translations is used because there is no word in the English Language that properly translates the word from the Greek. The word in Greek means: was, is, and shall be. The English language has separate words for those tenses.

Again, you are attributing to God a human felling. Jesus didn’t get angry, He acted in justice.

Yes.. indeed. There is a time and a place for physical violence. But it is only after all efforts of the logical and calculating mind have failed. Even then logic and calculations are key for the next step to be effective. Maintaining patience and control over anger is key to be effective in all you do.
The ability to quell your anger and respond with an eloquent response is worth more time an effort than anger itself. But alas words cannot protect you from criminals and cartels. You will know when you are patient and you are ready.

Not necessarily. It depends. Patience might not be what you mean. Maybe “appropriate channeling” and learning how to quickly assess what the appropriate response should be so that it is almost instinctive. It may be words, it may be nothing “right now”.
But sometimes immediate directed “anger” (adrenalin) is needed, and internalizing an overly pacifist mindset is going to be a problem. Self-defense, combat, any situation in which “he who hesitates is lost”, or the elements of speed and surprise are needed to get the upper hand.
Decades ago I spent a summer teaching physical self-defense classes. There are many people, especially women, who freeze up, can’t do it, fear their own physical power — or have just internalized too well that this is “bad”. That’s why, e.g., in some martial arts, one does what may seem like silly exercises such as learning that you can indeed punch right through that piece of wood, that concrete block. That wonderful God-given adrenalin has enabled small people to lift cars up, lifeguards to save panicking people who are drowning, soldiers to save buddies in war, erstwhile “victims” to repel rapists and burglars.

I agree, however I also learned self defence, aka “streetfighting” in which the preliminaries often involve exchanging insults in an attempt to enrage your opponent.
If insulting their mother, girlfriend or them can cause them to “loose their temper”, you have won as they swing wildly, drop their guard, etc.
Keeping your cool, whilr your opponent is attempting this goading, can be challenging.
Flipping the script, by enduring all they throw at you, and then coming back with comments that enrage them, similar to counter-punching, became my forte.
So, I agree fully with what you are saying, and its not JUST women; there are lots of men that either by inclination, lifestyle or happenstance have never hsd to resort to physical defence, or not since they were boys, and frankly some as boys that never stood up to a bully.

This is an important discussion. I disagree with the statement, Violence is never the answer.
In World War II, violence WAS the answer and people had the common sense to recognize that. We were facing a determined and intelligent enemy, and the aggressor always sets the parameters of the conflict. If your enemy has, for example, snipers, you must have better snipers.
Every prosperous civilization gives rise to a class of people who have only known peace and have lost touch with what happens when the veneer of civilization wears very thin, when the social contract is broken. Organizations like the Boy Scouts did a lot to remind us of how close we really are to life-threatening, primitive conditions. If we don’t have adequate protection from cold, rattlesnakes, feral dog packs in some cities now, life gets existential in a hurry.
Be prepared. Your most powerful weapon is your brain; the preparation takes place in your brain. It is my duty protect my children. To protect them I must read reality correctly, no matter how repugnant that task may be.
Violence is always the answer to the largest issues. History shows this on endless repeat. It is being used against us now. It is the other sides answer to what they consider a problem. There is a reason the left, the side currently in charge of violence, took history out of education.

DiFi has the best medical care in the country. Shingles does not incapacitate for three months and put a person in a wheelchair. She has some other ailment-related to dementia and her age. She is pretty decrepit for her age. I know many who don’t look like they’ve already passed.
Actually, shingles CAN incapacitate you and put you in a wheelchair if (1) it starts in your legs or pelvic area; and (2) it’s left untreated for an extended period of time. That happened to my grandfather a year or two ago; he was DiFi’s age.

Just a little note here to ponder. I currently live in a section of Georgia. My 2 and 4 year olds’ swim teacher is in the National Guard and is being deployed around August. I think for a year. I have been told by the family member who takes the kids most often to swim lessons that the swim teacher said they have been training for nuclear situations. Family member can’t remember where was said to be deployed, but thinks it started with a, “K”. Swim lessons ended this week as the teacher wants to spend more time with family, etc. We have been invited to their going away/deployment “get together”. Not sure “party” is the right word. Don’t know when get together is, but will try to be a bit more inquisitive than my family member.
Given it’s National Guard and given this swim teacher though very fit (I don’t think they are front line folks) I would imagine rear support and perhaps of a medical nature. And maybe since being deployed anyway with that type of training I would think would mean there would are small…..very small possible objects with very localized effects…….not Hiroshima level. Will try and get general area of deployment when attending the “get together”.

NBC’s Today show just came right out yesterday and smeared President Trump for telling the Truth on CNN. The first sentence from the reporter was:
“Donald Trump continued to repeat his lies and conspiracy theories about a stolen election in 2020.”
The lies and conspiracy theories are coming from The Mendacious Media protecting the fraud and election theft of 2020.

People you need to be aware that around 60 to 70 buses full of military aged illegals from Venezuela, Guatemala, Cuba and Haiti are headed to the northern states. I know some of my fellow neighbors don’t think I should share this info because we feel like we have been abandon by the other 49 states & that you haven’t given a damn about what we have been living through for 2 1/2 years, but these aren’t the illegals we are used to seeing. The illegals coming into our country under Biden are mean. These people will hurt or kill you. Biden ordered a street release for the past three day in Texas, NM, AZ, and CA. That means that they were not vetted and they have no idea who they even are. These people feel entitled to anything that is here. They feel like they had to pay the cartels thousands of dollars to come here and they still owe them thousands. They know that if they miss a payment then a family member in their home country will suffer a beating, lose a finger, hand, foot, etc, so we aren’t their problem. We are a means to their payments.
These are pointers that we have already learned from:
1. Make sure when you come in for the night or when you get to work to remove your battery and take it in the house with you. If you don’t your car will disappear within a week max.
2. Screw your outdoor electrical sockets closed. If you don’t they will come onto your property and charge their new I-phones (that we paid for) and if they feel like it they will hang out and play music and get drunk on your patio.
3. Always be looking down no matter where you are walking. It doesn’t matter if its a parking lot, your yard, the grocery store, the park, because these people will shit anywhere. They have no shame; they actually think it is funny.
4. You will need to keep a close eye on your children if they are in school with these kid. The majority of these kids have scabies and lice. You couldn’t find lice treatments for 100 mile radius from South Texas. Scabies will need a prescription. You are lucky down here if you can get an appointment within a month. If you do, you will not be able to get a prescription filled. The NGO’s somehow got a hold of those and only illegals can get them. So don’t let your little ones get it.
5. Keep the elderly and those with compromised immune systems safe. Our only hospital with in 80 miles doesn’t have a single bed available because everyone of them is full of with an illegal. Our hospital will be closing shortly because the illegals have bankrupted it.
6. If you have babies you will need to make sure you have enough diaper, wipes, baby food, and formula. The NGO’s show up and buy it all with your tax dollars and then again it is only available to illegals.
7. MY BIGGEST PET PEEVE OF ALL: THEY WILL FLY THEIR HOME COUNTRIES FLAG UP AND DOWN YOUR STREETS, THE PARKS AND YOUR YARDS.
8. Don’t leave anything outside that you don’t want stolen. It sucks if you have kids because they will take your trampolines, swing sets, play sets, bicycles won’t last an hour outside, your porch furniture, any outside decor, water hoses, your hanging baskets, it doesn’t even matter if they can sell it. For some reason they will destroy stuff for the fun of it.

Having lived in Venezuela twice for a total of 3.5 years, all of this is true. Keep your head on a swivel and take your personal security seriously. China is very EFFECTIVELY (for a change) embargoed from getting the nearly scifi DUTCH SOLE SOURCE equipment that allows Taiwan to produce most of the world’s most advanced integrated circuit “chips,” but their economy is the most dependent on them. Even the tech required to just MANUFACTURE those machines themselves is scifi level stuff.
THAT is what they’re after in Taiwan far more than “reunification.”
The US Army War College paper from 2021 suggests the Taiwanese should commit to blowing up the facilities and doesn’t mention the US doing it, but it would be absolutely trivial for US to do it if they don’t. The vast facilities need to be 1,000 times cleaner than an operating room:
“In an operating room, they allow 10,000 particles of air pollution for one cubic meter of air. In a room where a semiconductor is built, they only allow 10 for every cubic meter.”
This is the PERFECT, ZERO COST way to deter China from invading Taiwan – simply say we’ll blow up what they’re after and I’m glad to see it stated more publicly now.

Taiwan’s defense minister in statements early this week pushed back against the idea of the US bombing the island’s semiconductor factories in the event of a Chinese invasion.
Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA) recently said the US should “make it very clear to the Chinese that if you invade Taiwan, we’re going to blow up TSMC,” referring to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, which produces the majority of the world’s advanced semiconductors.
When asked about Moutlon’s comments, Taiwanese Defense Minister Chiu Kuo-cheng said the military wouldn’t let that happen.
“It is the military’s obligation to defend Taiwan and we will not tolerate any others blowing up our facilities,” he said, according to The South China Morning Post.
The idea of bombing Taiwan’s chip factories to avoid them coming under Chinese control is gaining popularity in Washington.
A paper published in 2021 by the US Army War College suggested the US and Taiwan should plan “scorched-earth” tactics that could render Taiwan “not just unattractive if ever seized by force, but positively costly to maintain.”
The paper said the tactic could be done “most effectively by threatening to destroy facilities belonging to the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, the most important chipmaker in the world and China’s most important supplier.”
