NATO leaders believe it is “obvious” why Russia has been showing such interest in the undersea infrastructure of European nations and there is suspicion that cables and pipes may already have been “mined”, a report claims.

Essential equipment for keeping the modern world going, including high voltage electrical transmission cables, gas and oil pipelines, and internet data cables all cross the seabed floor and are said to have been objects of interest for these ships.
That is another story that may be entirely fiction. The reason that NATO has been so worried is because they have a collectively guilty conscience for what THEY did.

I commuted on NY subways, 1960s/70s/80s, if was never a picnic – there were always weirdos – it comes with the territory.
As kid on LI, when we went to the city, we never went on the subway…that was early 1960’s…Dad was a conductor on the LIRR then, he would occasionally take me to work with him on Sunday morning, as it was “safest”…that was in the days of “Dashing Dan”.
My father-in-law was the Safety Director of the LIRR early 1950s until his retirement in 1978. He had a hand in creating Dashing Dan. In 1963 Dashing Dottie was introduced in 1963.

I grew up on the far SW side of Chicago. My family rode the Rock Island RR weekly to downtown Chicago. I loved the rides as I accompanied my mother to appointments, shopping, and a tasty lunch.
Aggiegirl: I was born in the city, as were my parents, and grew up in the suburbs. My father commuted to work in the Garment District by train and subway for 35 years. Early in my career, I, too, commuted by train and subway, and, when living in Manhattan, used the subway ever day. I learned early to travel the subways as if I were in a combat zone or a potential crime scene. Head on a swivel at all times.
In the 60s, my father would take me to his office and we’d use the subway. We also went to the Horn & Hardart Automat (remember that?) and Chock Full O’Nuts, for lunch.
The subway was never a delightful place, although it was fairly clean and orderly during the 80s, when I used it most, at all hours of the day and night. In the 70s, the subway was a disaster zone of graffiti.

In this weeks catholic church bulletin about 30 miles out of Charleston SC, I noticed there are hundreds of hispanic New Parishishoners in our one church. All in one week. Hundreds.
This church has a robust Spanish mass and Brazilian mass and those communities are kept very separate from the American community and activities.
The priests (and leading rev) there are mostly foreign imports form india and philipines. During covid they were covid tyrants. Theres no American sensibilities to this parish.
I wonder if there’s a bus that takes illegal aliens through a routine of certain stops, one is at the church to begin establishing residency and get on doles.
I dislike that it’s all guesses and no journalistic interest.
Meanwhile in my precious, somewhat rural community neighborhood, American Homes For Rent has just begun clearcutting and building 400+ rental homes to encompasses our existing neighborhood.
The lowcountry in SC is having almost all of its wilderness and green space clear cut for rental homes and apartments.
I dont think people actually prefer to rent ovet own, if theres any demand for rentals, its because there aren’t homes available to buy. I know that the new phenomenon in our area is suburban homes being bought up at above market prices by rental agencies.
I can’t help but believe these places are being built specifically to bus and hold the incoming 3rd world and refugee populations. Whats happening to our country?

“Build to Rent” is all over the US…new concept by builders where the communities will be treated as income properties…not for sale units….similar to apartments but offering homes with garages etc. Rent will be paid by these individuals to the builders. Many people don’t think like us…they are trying to build cash flow and renting is a good option.
The BTR’s will throw off significant cash flow…Blackrock and a number of similar financiers are behind it…but the attraction is a home instead of an apartment with a garage. At some point, similar to an income property the builders will sell the community based upon collateral and cash flow. Downside is that it will potentially cause havoc on school systems.
Re your concern…demand is there not to bus them in but enough that families will rent if in a solid location.
Also re hispanics…and I don’t care for the illegals…but my experience in hiring construction crews is that they are family oriented, work hard and go to church. Other than another class of people…

It is happening in Las Vegas. Home builders are building subdivisions that will be all rent. There are families who cannot afford to purchase a home and do not want apartment living so this is a nice alternative for them.
Will these subdivisions turn into slummy, run down areas?? I am not sure.
Let’s see if the Rules and Regulations and Property Management of these subdivisions are as strict as an HOA.
Maybe this will ease the demand for apartments which should be used for small families (1 to 2 kids) and single people.
I hope that they do not turn into homes that house 3 families with 6 cars out front. We’ll see.

That was only the tip of the iceberg.
Parts stolen off our cars if we left them in the driveway overnight, drugs, fights, yards deteriorated, garbage, you name it.

There has never been effective oversight of the NSA’s bulk collections programs, or indeed, intelligence agencies in general. There’s been a lot of noise made about this vaunted oversight in defense of programs revealed by leaked documents, but this is nothing more than a talking point.
At The Big Picture, a clip of Sen. John D. Rockefeller (then Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence) discussing how oversight actually works has been posted. It’s from an interview given in 2007, about the time the FISA Amendments Act was being put together to replace the expiring Protect America Act. The amendments act, among other things, extended the length of warrantless surveillance and gave telecoms retroactive immunity for their participation in the NSA’s bulk collections.

Recordings of DeSantis 2018 debate prep sessions, which have never been made public before, have been obtained exclusively by ABC. DeSantis was losing to a homosexual drug addict and President Trump’s endorsement carried him to the finish line. Without the help of President Trump, Florida would have had Governor Gillum.
“Don’t piss off his voters” was DeSantis’ focus with regard to Trump. He was using President Trump from the onset. That smarmy asshole was a guest in President Trump’s home and lied to his face about his support for President Trump. What kills me, is Matt Gates was the one that asked him the question in DeSantis’ debate prep sessions. So, that puts a question mark on Gates in my book. If he knew DeSantis was just using Trump, why didn’t he tell Trump that, especially since Gates was supposed to be so “MAGA.”
