President Trump didn’t have the authority for a lockdown. Only state governors could impose one or lift one.
The administration put major pressure on red state governors to lock down longer. In late August/early September 2020, they were pushing Missouri to lock down again. That is a big part of what Pence and Birx did-travel around pushing states to lock down. Dem governors ran with it, whereas many GOP governors resisted and outright went against the administration’s recommendations (though some of the RINOs mostly went along). But the lockdowns were most definitely federally-initiated.

My buddy up the road has a set up I am envious of. The only problem with that whole genre of growing is it is reliant electricity, which may or may not be in ready supply in our not too distant future. I am trying to get my shade gardening act sorted out. Many vegetables thrive in light shade here in Florida as the direct summer sun is a bit much. I am having a ball with biochar enhanced soil growing. Lemongrass tea is my newest discovery in the way of natural pest repellant as we have serious caterpillar problem this spring. If push comes to shove I will put a Copenhagen snuff pouch into the spray bottle and fill the void up with water.
Actually, that “tobacco pouch” strategy works quite well. Nicotine is a natural insecticide used by the tobacco plant. You’ll never find insects eating their leaves. Put a few pouches in hot water in the spray bottle, allow it to cool overnight. (Curiously, synthetic nicotine pouches do not work as well. You apparently need the whole plant.)
I do not recommend doing this for plants that you intend to consume as food.
A couple solar panels in the FL sunshine should do the trick for electricity for your garden. I would think you would have plenty of power from old Sol.

I was editor-in-chief of an association magazine and used the AP Stylebook until it directed me to avoid using “illegal alien” and use “undocumented …” instead. The stylebook lost me quickly! Not only did I not refer to it anymore, but I made certain to have an article in my upcoming issue that spoke of illegal aliens!
This is part of the trend to change our language. to reflect the “accepted narrative.” I also never understood “African-American” for black people; not all black people are from Africa! I won’t use any hyphenated references.
Finally, publications can choose to develop their own “stylebook,” which we did at my publication. Using the AP Stylebook is a choice.

Neither “black” nor “white” should be capitalized, since neither are a proper noun, nor as an adjective, refer to “the name of a person, place, or thing”. They are new descriptions of an ostensible “race”, racial group, which is not itself actually a real thing, just a rough categorization of people with darker skin who hail from many different geographical locations, nations, ethnic ancestries, cultures, and historical experiences. The recent AP Stylebook diktat is part of wokeist tribalism, trying to divide us. Do not comply.
It’s really way past time we dropped this notion of “race”, this artificial groupism, altogether, except, perhaps in describing someone police are looking for (skin and hair color, height, weight, clothing, tatoos, scars, etc.)

As a footnote: I read the RFK Jr. book on Fauci carefully. The hardcover version, where one can easily check references, make notes and follow up citations.
As a former academic veteran I can say that it is a serious piece of work. Obviously with a point of view and agenda. Experts can nitpick and exaggerate speculative claims of course. But the overall cumulative theme is damning for Fauci and his ilk.

Matt Taibbi threatened with jail time:
In a letter, Rep. Stacey Plaskett, D-V.I., falsely claimed that “Twitter Files” journalist Matt Taibbi lied under oath in his congressional testimony, floating the possibility of criminal prosecution. Plaskett, the same lawmaker who described Taibbi as a “so-called journalist” during his March 9 testimony, also demanded sourcing information and asked that he detail his interactions with Elon Musk.
The Plaskett letter claimed that Taibbi “intentionally” provided false information during his testimony and mentioned the potential consequences of such actions. “Under the federal perjury statute, 18 U.S.C. § 1621, providing false information is punishable by up to five years imprisonment,” Plaskett wrote.
Although the letter came from Plaskett, it was a group effort that involved senior figures in the House Democratic Caucus. Plaskett referenced the letter in an April 13 press release, but the link to the letter was initially broken.
Notably, after speaking to multiple officials in Plaskett’s office, a response to my inquiry was finally sent not by her staff, but by Earnestine Dawson, an advisor to House Democratic Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y.
The metadata on the letter shows it was authored by Jacqui Kappler, a lawyer with the House Judiciary Committee who works closely with former House Judiciary Committee Chair Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y.
