Why do we not celebrate Easter as much as we do Christmas?
imo, people don’t understand or grasp the importance of Christ rising from the dead.
Compared to the birth of Christ, which is also a miracle, the resurrection requires a leap of faith
that many aren’t willing or able to embrace.
i believe many Christians draw a line at what they will believe, in their hearts, in their faith.
And to rise from the dead, and prove the absolution of all humanities sins, is a bit farther along in many
peoples walks with God than they are capable of.
Christ’s life on earth is filled with miracles, and to rise from the dead is the biggest one to accept on faith, imo.
Maybe from a historical precedence we have more time in winter than spring. Lots to do in spring for agrarian societies. Just maybe. But Bobo makes a good point too.
A little baby in a manger is less convicting than a scourged, bloody God-man hanging on a cross.
We have to look at that God-man and say “I did that. I nailed His hands and feet to the cross.”
My own sin becomes real when I look upon Him Who was pierced for my sake.
Yes.
Its much more difficult for a person to accept the responsibility of the crucifixion of Christ.
Much easier to rejoice in the birth of he Savior.

Sundance and dear Treepers,
I gave up commenting for Lent. It was really challenging, to remain silent. It took me down some much needed notches, so to speak. My meditational theme this year was found in the prophetic words of John the Baptist, ” He must increase but I must decrease”. I decreased and He increased. The yoke is easy.
The gist of what Fr. spoke of today, was that if you believed in the promise of the Resurrection, you will have no fear of death. Fear absolutely nothing and march on towards the truth, for your salvation. Love conquered all. Never give up.
Sundance has been a most excellent example of a soldier of Christ. Thank you brother. And a thank you to fellow sojourners, during these most evil of times.
