I believe in 2010 or 11, Florida’s personal injury protection (PIP) law for automobile insurance came up for renewal. PIP is a simple insurance that pays $10,000 towards your own Medical expenses in case of an accident, and is required by law to register your car in Florida. Remember, the maximum payout is $10,000. There was an effort to cap attorney fees, which are over and above that $10,000. Led by some woman named Ellen Bogdanoff in the Florida senate, the Florida bar was able to defeat the effort to cap attorney fees in PIP cases. The proposed cap that the bar objected to? $32,000. Think about that. On a max $10,000 case. And it was defeated. And to this day there is still no cap on attorney fees for PIP cases.

There is another side to the story. In VA cases, attorneys fees are highly restricted.
Try getting an average small law firm to represent a veteran in a VA benefits litigation case. You can’t. It is a small business destroying proposition to take such a case, especially if it is going to go on for a long time and involve a lot of work.
Who really gets screwed by limiting or prohibiting fees “to protect the vets from predatory attorney’s”?
The vets. They have to go up against the government without any real representation.
Considering the amount of vets in the bar ranks one would think they’d have a network set up to help out veterans pro bono. Brother looks after brother and never leaves one behind.

No. Bad idea. President Trump needs a proven fighter, a Devin Nunes for example – someone who’s had everything plus the kitchen sink thrown at them and they withstood the storm. Am sure there are others, but he’s the one that quickly comes to mind, probably because he also knows how the system in DC works so won’t need on the job training.
Wonder if Gen. Flynn would qualify? Since he was pardoned, would the previous charges against him disqualify him from office?
There were a number of us who thought that Ron could be the person to take up the cause after Trump serves a second term. Basically, to learn from him as his apprentice while serving as the VP.
