(Via Fox News) – Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-KY, is hospitalized in Washington, D.C., after he fell Wednesday night.
McConnell was attending a private dinner at a hotel in the nation’s capitol when he tripped, Spokesman David Popp confirmed to Fox News Digital.
He was taken to an area hospital to be treated. The extent of his injuries, if any, were not immediately known. The full statement from McConnell’s camp read as follows:
“This evening, Leader McConnell tripped at a local hotel during a private dinner. He has been admitted to the hospital where he is receiving treatment.” (link)

That was odd that time McConnell showed up with a black eye and bruised hand. In a period when several politicians were showing up with black eyes. But if there’s a video of him tripping, then no conspiracy there.

There were some theories going around –one about some sort of insider’s power club and that the black eye was a sign to others that the person had been initiated into the group. It was always the right eye I think.

I’m no peach and full of my own trail of “trespasses”, but am stumped by the notion of forgiving active, current enemies.
We’re in a political battle for the life of our country and to save us from permanent loss of all personal freedoms. Do “soldiers” focus on forgiveness during active “combat” ?
While I’m not sure on what to do with forgiveness re McConnell, I know I don’t want to dwell in hate as it soils me and touches him not at all.

I’m really curious how others here approach forgiveness, particularly with one’s enemies who haven’t stopped harming one. Sundance posted this on the Presidential thread so hope it is ok for me to post this here.
I have a personal standard that I try to live by. If you can’t say (or think) anything nice about someone don’t say anything at all. If you wish bad outcomes to others you may be inviting them into your own life.
Needless to say I have been pretty silent on certain occasions. i.e. the illness and deaths of Ted Kennedy, Frank Lautenburg, John McCain, et al.
What is this forgiveness thing of which you speak?

How do I forgive someone like McConnell, someone I believe is malevolently working to help destroy our country from within? Forgiveness has always felt like some sort of get-out-of-jail free card –like I’m saying no worries, let bygones be bygones. Yet I know when I allow myself to loathe someone, it doesn’t affect the other person, just me.
Not forgiving saps my energy and like BrokenHearted said, it keeps me from the calm resolve needed to focus on solutions So anyway, after Sundance shared that quote, it pulled up my old issue of the how and why of forgiveness. I was asking how others approach it.

I find myself seething with hate from time to time and have to remind myself constantly that’s the doorway for the devil to stroll right into my soul. It’s so hard to see the corruption and I feel so helpless at times because of the injustice. I find the anger so overbearing and have to stop and pray that God takes the rage out of my heart and focus it towards solutions. I do not know what the future will bring but worrying about rumors of war is something we have been warned not to do. Being a combat infantryman makes that worry hard to abate. Knowing what our government is capable of leaves me awake for many nights on end. Knowing how easily they can convince young and dumb hard assed grunts to do their bidding for fake causes is concerning. I lived it overseas along with many others doing their dirty deeds for the liars in government. My only solace is the Lord and I pray daily that he keeps me calm and full of resolve versus fear and desperation. God bless you all and may justice come swiftly if not from us then the Lord himself when Christ returns to collect us.

I wish we could see more video of our congressmen/women walking through the halls. Some of them appear to have serious conditions. Those who should be using canes, walkers, or wheelchairs are trying to ambulate without assistance. I assume they want to appear fit. There’s no shame in using mobility aids. The public should know about these things. I’ve seen McConnell walk. Didn’t realize he’d had polio as a kid. If anyone needed assistance, it’s him. This fall will take him down several clunks. A fall in one’s 80s always does.
