One of my best friends lives in Grand Blanc.
I’m 90 miles from the nearest McDonalds and THAT feels too close. (Except I love their fries. But gas costs too much.)
What people do not realize is that you are FINED if you go outside of your 15 minute city more than your allotted amount. Do you want your government telling you when and where you can go? How often you can go somewhere?
They always present their plans as though they are doing something nice for you but in the end, it is all about control.
What if businesses don’t want to open in your 15 minute region?? What if your mom lives in two regions over and needs daily care??
A 15 minute city would be very appealing in so many ways. I maintain 4 vehicles and soon to be 5 when I get my next motorcycle. If I could forgo yard maintenance, vehicle maintenance and the cost of insuring and maintaining vehicles I would have more time for things I find more appealing. The motorcycle would, ironically, be THEE ONE thing I’d want to enjoy but the 15 minute city concept would remove me from motorcycle touring.
Who in their right mind would want to use public transit??? Business after business are now closing due to allowed shoplifting. What are the 15 minute city managers going to do now? Subsidize stores which will DIRECTLY show up in your store purchased goods?
Lobbies, halls and staircases will immediately become needle shooting galleries and I would expect homeless people living in the hallways if they didn’t just kill you and move right into your apartment. How will you even get from your apartment to public transit without being robbed or murdered? Face it … GANGS will run all 15 minute cities. They will force you to pay protection.
“15 Minute Cities” would probably work if crime is wiped out and there is absolutely no sign that will ever happen.

I live here, and last week drove around handing seniors their lunch. The electric power was out for at least 4 days due to a snow storm going through.
I have wood stove and propane for gas so the power outage was fine for me, but these seniors that live in the apartments I deliver to, were cold and could not cook any food. It was the saddest thing!

I am reading an autobio of a British physician written in 2014. He often went to Ukraine to assist in surgeries for brain tumors and other neurosurgucal operations.

My hotel was near Tysons II shopping mall in Tysons Corner, VA right on the DC beltway. I went over to find something to eat and remember the mall was absolutely packed with holiday shoppers carrying bags upon bags of gifts.
I got home and remarked to my friends and family, “There is no recession in Government.”
Obama was sworn in a month later and signed a $1T spending bill that went to…government employees.
I’m from the swamp. We have never had a recession in this area.
I distinctly remember the hit our investments took in September 2008.

My wife and I, somewhat stunned, just listened and after she left asked, “Okay, who was that person and what have they done with our daughter”.

If you don’t get the science stuff, this is a little more tangible. But the bottom line is that those “vaccines” don’t just contain mRNA, they contain DNA from the manufacturing process. They use circler DNA called a plasmid in the manufacturing of the mRNA. Plasmids occur naturally and transfer genes (DNA) between bacteria. Those genes get incorporated into the DNA of the “infected” bacteria.
They told everybody that the jabs contained mRNA that coded for the spike protein. What they didn’t tell you is that they are heavily contaminated with DNA from an extremely error prone manufacturing process. Pfizer is worse than Modern in the batches studied.
Bottom line, those jabbed got a dose of DNA that codes for the mRNA in addition to the actual mRNA.
You don’t need to even consider the possibility that the mRNA could potentially reverse-transcribe into DNA. The jabs have DNA in them already!

Russia Advances in Bakhmut Battle:
According to Reuters, the head of Russia’s Wagner mercenary group said on Wednesday his forces had taken full control of the eastern part of the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut as one of the bloodiest battles of the year-long war appears close to ending. If the claim is true, it would mean Russian forces control nearly half the city in their push to secure their first big victory in several months.
The General Staff of the Ukraine’s Armed Forces said in its Wednesday morning report: “The enemy, despite significant losses, … continues to storm the town of Bakhmut.”
Wagner head Yevgeny Prigozhin said his fighters, who have been spearheading the Russian campaign to seize Bakhmut, had now captured the city’s east. “Everything east of the Bakhmutka River is completely under the control of Wagner,” Prigozhin said on Telegram.
The river bisects Bakhmut city, which sits on the edge of a swathe of the Donetsk region that is already largely under Russian occupation. The city centre is on the west side of the river.
Still, Ukrainian defenders remained defiant, and after indicating they are ready for “a tactical retreat” from Bakhmut last week, military and political leaders are now speaking of hanging on to positions and inflicting as many casualties as possible on the Russian assault force (and to the Ukraine military and mercenaries as well, of course).
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s defence minister said Kyiv urgently needed huge supplies of artillery shells to mount a general counter-offensive against Russia’s invasion army, urging EU members to support an Estonian plan for joint procurement of munitions.
“We need to move forward as soon as possible,” Oleksii Reznikov told reporters before an EU defence ministers’ meeting in Stockholm.
Ukrainian military statements said earlier there may be “conditions” in Bakhmut for a Ukrainian offensive. “The main task of our troops in Bakhmut is to grind the enemy’s fighting capability, to bleed their combat potential,” Serhiy Cherevatyi, a spokesperson for Ukraine’s eastern military command, told public television on Tuesday.
Russia has made progress in recent weeks around Bakhmut, but its winter offensive yielded little gains in assaults further north and south. It says that taking Bakhmut would be a step towards seizing the industrial Donbas region, made up of Donetsk and Luhansk provinces. Luhansk Governor Serhiy Haidai said in comments on Ukrainian television that Russia’s strategy in east Ukraine remained the same – to take the remaining areas of Donetsk and Luhansk that it does not control.
“As for tactics – they understand that they are not able to make any rapid advance, so they have one tactic – they advance where they can. If they see that there is any success somewhere, they throw all the reserves into it,” he said.
“So far, in the directions of Kreminna, Svatove and Bilohorivka (all northwest of the regional capital Luhansk) they have had no strategic successes and are making no progress.”
The months of warfare in the east have been among the deadliest and most destructive since Russia invaded in February last year, adding Bakhmut’s name to a list of devastated cities such as Mariupol, Sievierodonetsk and Lysychansk.
A Ukrainian military drone showed the scale of destruction in Bakhmut, filming apartment blocks on fire and smoke billowing from residential areas. Iryna Vereshchuk, a deputy Ukrainian premier, said fewer than 4,000 civilians – including 38 children – out of a pre-war population of some 70,000 remained in the city, which is now largely in ruins after months of bombardment.
“The situation in the city is difficult. The enemy actively storms our positions, however they don’t have any success and suffer colossal losses,” a Ukrainian border guard said in a video released by the State Border Service.
“Probably out of spite, they tried to blow up two bridges. But we still receive everything that we need. The city stands, because Bakhmut was, is, and will be Ukraine. We’ll stay in touch.”
The Ukrainian General Staff also said Russian forces made more than 30 unsuccessful attacks over the past day near Orikhovo-Vasylivka alone, 20 km (12 miles) northwest of Bakhmut. They shelled the areas around 10 settlements along the Bakhmut section of the front line, it said.

It could also be foreign actors, such as Russia, China, North Korea or Iran. One or more of them would have the manpower, tech savvy, financial resources and motive to carry out the scheme.
But Cyabra says the attack likely originated from inside the United States. So, who within the United States, besides Trump, would have a strong interest in ensuring that Trump wins the GOP presidential nomination?
The answer is Democrats.
This would not be their first rodeo. Democratic organizations put a lot of money into supporting several Trump-aligned Republican primary candidates in 2022 in the hope of making several state midterm elections a referendum of Trump. That effort may have helped several of the most rightwing, pro-Trump candidates win their respective state primaries. Democrats perceived those candidates would be easier to beat in the general election, and it often worked.
It did often work because the Trump endorsed candidate would get no support from the republican establishment. The GPOe often would attack and undermine the candidate, pull back funding and intel.

Australia’s mortality rates for 2022 exceeded forecasts by 12%, with almost 20,000 more deaths than expected, according to data released by the Actuaries Institute.

Figures released this week from the Actuaries Institute showed that deaths were 12 per cent up on what had been forecast.
Covid-19 was blamed for 10,300 excess deaths and listed as a contributing factor in 2900.

I feel sorry – albeit in a curiously detached sort of way – for people like this. Should I pity them? Do they actually deserve to be pitied? I don’t know.
Anyhow: I happened to draw the “Y chromosome,” and my wife did not. Somehow, both of us grew up to be very proud bearers of our respective positions, and, so far as I know, neither one of us had any weird fantasies of “switching places.” We accepted our bodies as they were, and had a good time.
