Now I have a problem with various things in the article, but mostly the conclusion: The Chinese Government is not our friend, and never has been. The Chinese people are a different matter of course, as is always the case with dictatorships.
The same thing is most probably true about the Russians.
If we want to deal with such Communist dictatorships, we do not want to be blind to their crimes.
Should we be rattling their cages? In that we stand (or at least used to stand) for Freedom and Individualism, we are already rattling their cages.
We should resist their attempts at influencing the world and always be prepared. We should not be acting like they are America’s friends… OR our enemies, when they are behaving internationally.

How We Know it Started in Wuhan
I’ve been revisiting the evidence of the early spread of the virus in 2019 and the first confirmed cases and I’ve arrived at what I think is the most likely course of events for how the virus emerged.
To cut a long(ish) story short, it looks like the virus was spreading globally by the second half of November 2019. The bit that was hard to understand was why, if it was in countries all around the world that winter, the explosive outbreaks only began in February and March 2020.
Looking again at the reports of the emergence of the virus in close detail, it appears that this is because the virus’s journey from first emergence in autumn 2019 to explosive outbreaks in early 2020 occurred in a slower and more staggered way than we might expect from a simple understanding of viruses. This is not because the virus wasn’t present in countries prior to causing explosive outbreaks there – that’s the simplistic assumption that is contradicted by the data – but because the virus doesn’t always cause explosive outbreaks when it is present.
The novel SARS-like virus seems to have first started infecting humans around the end of October 2019. This was very likely in Wuhan. It might be suggested that if the virus was spreading globally in November 2019 then it could have started anywhere and the fact that it was first detected in Wuhan implies nothing about where it started.
However, it does appear that the December outbreak in Wuhan where it was first detected was the largest to that date.

This is starting to really piss me off – I have already cancelled Citicard (member since 1969), Paypal (so convenient). the amount of things I have boycotted is too numerous to list. My small way with *sand*.
I do NOT purchase guns (but I am a lifetime member of NRA) – As soon as I confirm this is accurate and will go into effect April – I will cancel my discover cc (member since 1993). At that point I will be w/out any cc – Cash is the answer, I guess!

Beginning in April 2023, Discover will become the first credit card issuer to track gun purchases made by their cardholders.
On September 11, 2022, Breitbart News noted that Visa caved to pressure from gun control groups and New York Democrats, agreeing to flag gun and ammo purchases via a new sales categorization. The Associated Press observed that Mastercard and other major credit cards also agreed to flag gun sales.
On March 2, 2023, the Independent Journal Review (IJR) reported that Discover will be first among credit card companies to track gun sales, inasmuch as the company will begin doing so in April.
IJR explained, “Anyone using a Discover card to make a purchase in a gun store will have that purchase tracked, beginning in April.”
There are over 55 million Discover cards in usage, so a lot of information on gun purchases can be gathered via that one company.
