Fox was just disguised as “conservative” news, but was actually a ratings and entertainment vacuum supporting establishment elite GOPe cronies.
That was the moment I decided to cancel “cable” TV and stop paying for and supporting all the 200+ garbage networks and “news” entertainment channels I never watched anyway while the cable and/or satellite TV corporations kept raising my bill for their trash.

Before standards were lowered for nursing school it was absolute standard of care to aspirate before injecting . The test for your license was 2 days, hundreds of pretty hard questions. Now you go and if you answer the first 75 questions moderately well you pass immediately. I bet there are physicians today that would not be able to pass the nursing exam of my days, the 1980’s.
Aside from aspirating the syringes before injecting, I would wager that half the elderly who are hospitalized will aspirate or choke on meals/ medications dispensed by the nurses. If they bother to even implement a correct meal plan it is rarely followed.
At my insistence, my dad received a swallow test, which indicated puréed foods and thickened liquids, upon admission for aspiration pneumonia. Despite my efforts he later aspirated on a large potassium pill administered by a careless nurse and died the day he was due to be discharged.
Super bugs also run rampant in the hospitals. Medical professionals can’t even wash their hands correctly. I know three people who went in for routine surgeries and were killed by superbugs picked up inside the hospital.

Four years in college, hinged on those two days. Day one I developed a massive stress headache, ended up in the bathroom vomiting. And praying. Praying hard. Those tests were nothing but an exercise in how not to be tricked into picking the wrong answer…and they still are.
Now, they “teach to the test”.
Oh yes, and monitored every second for unauthorized sharing–aka cheating. Four years of college indeed. And then the excruciating wait for the envelope to come to see if you passed or not! Although we were “allowed” to work in the hospital while waiting for results.
And in 1974, you were escorted to the rest room for a break by a monitor during the exam. I’m an old school R.N. And received excellent training. Watching the nurses today, gives me the chills!
You mean they give the nurse candidates the test questions and answers before the actual test! In New York they automatically turn off the nursing test after the first ten questions if the candidate gets them right. You passed pops up on the test computer screen!!!

Some of my classmates were foolish enough to bunk up four to the hotel room. I stayed alone and did not spend any of my time even having dinner or lunch with anybody. I was so exhausted that I could barely drive back to Houston after I finished. There was no choice since I could not afford another night at the hotel.
In those days, you lost potential credit for any question you did not answer. If you marked the wrong answer, there was a penalty of IIRC an extra 20% off the value of that question. If a person answered 80 out of 100 questions correctly and skipped the rest or ran out of time, the score for that section was 80. If the same person answered 80 questions correctly and the other 20 questions incorrectly, the score was 76. A test taker had to have enough understanding to be able to eliminate at least one of the five potential answers to be able to safely take a reasoned guess at answering a question.
Actually, I thought the exam was one of the best-constructed tests I had ever taken. Sloppy thinkers would have not done especially well.
I was one of six new graduates who worked in OB/Gyn/newborn at my hospital. Three of the six failed at least one section. The hospital allowed them to continue working in graduate nurse status but moved them to the patient care specialties they had failed. One of them failed a section again. She had her salary reduced and her position was downgraded. This particular young woman was a better nurse than she was a test taker.

What they need to accept is that SS is NOT an entitlement. Supposedly, you have to pay into it during your working years in order to receive that monthly payment when you retire. Or, at least you USED to have to pay into it. Now, they just give it to anyone and everyone, regardless of whether they’ve paid into it. So, I guess in that way maybe it IS an entitlement.
If they stop giving that money to those that haven’t paid into it, there would be plenty of money for those that DID. Government should not be allowed to touch SS funds other than to issue payment to those that paid into it.
As for Medicare, if you pay taxes then you pay for it (at least in some small way) although those payments don’t begin to cover the payouts. I don’t know if they’re giving Medicare to just anyone like with the SS money, but if they are then that needs to stop as well. Same conditions as SS – you don’t pay in, they don’t pay out. Since these 2 programs were never intended to be entitlements, they should NEVER be on the table for consideration of anything other than cost of living raises on the SS payments.
For that matter, every single “entitlement” program (food stamps, Medicaid, etc) should be denied for anyone that is not (and cannot prove) that they are a legal citizen of this country. Do any other countries just give their assistance programs to illegals? (Honest question, because I truly don’t know.)

Former Fed Governor Frederic Mishkin is among the authors of the white paper that examines the history of central bank efforts to create disinflation.
Despite the sentiments of many current Fed officials that they can manage a “soft landing” while tackling high prices, the paper says that is unlikely to be the case.
“We find no instance in which a central-[bank]induced disinflation occurred without a recession,” said the paper, co-authored by economists Stephen Cecchetti, Michael Feroli, Peter Hooper and Kermit Schoenholtz.

Blowing Holes in Seymour Hersh’s Pipe Dream
On the surface Seymour Hersh’s story looks passable, but as you dig deeper it has more holes than the Nord Stream pipeline.

Do you work for the CIA? The Nordstream Pipeline is buried 300′ below the Baltic Sea. It’s solid steel sections weight 200 tons each and it’s encased under a foot of cement. The only ships in the area which is under constant NATO surveillance were US Navy and NATO vessels under US Command. Biden and Nuland both PROMISED TO DESTROY THE PIPELINE and then bragged about it afterwards. Do you think that we’re all idiots? Oh noes. The gubmint would never do a thing like that… EVER… Therefore, Seymour Hersh’s very detailed report of how the pipeline was destroyed MUST be questioned. I’m actually surprised they have not labeled him a Russian operative yet.
Small, inconsequential holes, but some of the Norwegian details could be a bit off.
Which supports my first speculation after reading Seymour Hersh’s piece, that The Bumbling Pipebomber in The White House and his runners in the intelligence community could have used Hersh to spread the impression, that other countries apart from the US were involved in the operation or at least in on it. Out of character for Norway to do something that dirty, and they don’t need the money. No tactical reasons for the US to involve others, only political.
Russia said pre-Hersh it was the UK. The Source could even be an Englishman, who wished to divert the heat a tad.
I just did an internet search for a bumper sticker promoting getting us out of Ukraine.
There were a lot of “stand with Ukraine” stickers.
But not a single one to the contrary.
Buy one of those “I stand with Ukraine” stickers, and just put a swastika sticker right next to it.
Then you’ll have a more correct message displayed.
I noticed that a few months ago. I was looking for a bumper stick with a similar sentiment but could not find one.

An American man in a wig pretending to be a woman, who also served as a former (and possibly a current) federal informant, who now claims the status of a “front line” Ukrainian soldier, has been making the rounds in the corporate media ginning up support for the Ukraine money pit operation.
In an interview with CBS News that now has 361 thousand views on Twitter, “Sarah” Ashton-Cirillo, who is described as a woman, but was previously known as Michael John Cirillo, transmitted a defiant dispatch from the apparent front lines of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Before heading to Ukraine, Ashton-Cirillo, who is also a left wing activist, had worked with the FBI in sting operations against Republican candidates for political office.

Restoring a Republic after it has fallen into corruption only happened once to my limited knowledge, The Roman Empire. The corrupt polytheistic government fell becoming monotheistic, officially Christian, though they fell 150 years later and not by corruption but by invading Vandals.
The news is so very dark and frightening, but I do try to see humor in some things going on.
The EU and US froze Russian assets, supposedly totaling $300 billion. The EU wants to
takesteal any interest on those assets to send to Ukraine, while not touching the principal. However, the EU is frustrated because they can find only a relatively small percentage – about $36 billion. (Russia cannot withdraw assets because the money would have to go through the Swift system which would alert the West to asset location, but assets the US and EU can’t get information about can’t be touched.)Today, Bloomberg has an article telling that Russia also froze assets of Western companies and any interest that accrues to those assets. These amount to approximately $150 billion, but it is hard to know because some companies don’t want to admit to the amount of their investment or even that they have had investments in Russia. So, some of those investors are really hacked – BlackRock, J. P. Morgan Chase, and other big names in international finance – and are frustrated.
Maybe these companies can push Biden to seek peace for their bottom line….LOL!

DISARMING UKRAINE: From Moon of Alabama today.
The military of Russia has launched an operation to disarm, and possibly regime change, the Ukraine. I understand why Russia is doing this – it is either attack now or defend itself later with way more casualties and the danger of total defeat.
I had hoped though that it would find other methods to protect Russia from further NATO aggression. In 2014 the U.S. instigated regime change in Kiev and has since controlled the Ukrainian government. It has build up the Ukraine as a base to strangle Russia economically and militarily.
During the last two centuries Russia had to defend itself, with horrific casualties, against two huge invasions from the west. It is understandable that it does not want to repeat that experience. It is difficult to discern what the planed end state of this operation is. Where is this going to stop?
The most advantageous end state for Russia would be the creation of a new independent country, call it Novorussiya, on the land east of the Dnieper and south along the coast that holds a majority ethnic Russian population and that, in 1922, had been attached to the Ukraine by Lenin. That state would be politically, culturally and militarily aligned with Russia.
This would eliminate Ukrainian access to the Black Sea and create a land bridge towards the Moldavian breakaway Transnistria which is under Russian protection.
The yellow part of that map marked ‘Ukraine in 1654’ was actually the land of the Eastern Orthodox Zaporozhian Cossacks. Under threat from the Catholic Lithuanian-Polish Commonwealth, which at the time held the green parts under serfdom, they negotiated the Pereiaslav Agreement (1654) with Russia and pledged allegiance to the Tsar. They area thus became an autonomous part of Russia.
The rest of the Ukraine would be a land confined, mostly agricultural state, disarmed and too poor to be build up to a new threat to Russia anytime soon. Politically it would be dominated by fascists from Galicia which would then become a major problem for the European Union.
Thanks to Stalin’s additions to the Ukraine three countries, Poland, Hungary and Romania, have claims to certain areas in the Ukraine’s western regions. If they want to snatch those up again it is now probably the best time to do so. Despite being part of NATO, which likely would not support such moves, those three will have domestic policy difficulties to withstand the urge.
I hope for a sharp but short fight which destroys the Ukraine’s military capabilities but causes as little casualties and other damages as possible.
