Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

3rd Great Grandfather – Henry Bicker Gibson – banker, railroadman
Henry was part of creating the Auburn and Rochester Railroad, of which he became president in 1840. He merged it with another railroad and,
in 1850, became president of the Rochester and Syracuse Railroad. In 1853, he merged that railroad with others to form the New York Central,
becoming a director.
Definitely familiar with Mary Jemison! I seem to remember reading about her in one of my favorite books, “Death and Rebirth of the Seneca” by Anthony FC Wallace. 🙂
Thank you for the spelling correction. I KNEW I should have double-checked that! I knew about Henry signing the Moscow Treaty. I hadn’t realized the Jemison connection until I researched that more deeply. Fascinating that she dictated her own memoir to a minister. Very interesting discussion in the memoir about the tragic effects of alcohol.
When I started trying to find out who my father was, I started from the file I had stolen from mother decades ago. I knew she planned to burn it rather than let my brother and I see it. When father died, a friend of his had sent on things to her, and she’d sent back almost everything telling the friend to burn it all. In what was left was father’s mother’s obituary, and in THAT was the mention of her father, Henry Burnett and her descent from Henry B. Gibson of Canandaigua.
When we took early retirement, husband suggested we visit Canandaigua. We noticed a Gibson St. I said nah. Unlikely. But amusing. Next we found the Historical Society and were surprised to discover that not only did they know the name, his house had been just across the street! Better, they had a small genealogy chart that listed his descendants. There was the mention of the grandmother of the obituary, and grandmother’s father with a military rank. That meant there were government files to track down later. Then I read up on Gibson and sat in shock. Every ancestor after that left me in the same condition. I’m a little more used to it now, but still sort of shocked.
I really thought I had nothing from my father but a stuffed giraffe that mother threw away, but what I turned out to have was a wealth of family stories and an ever-growing set of fascinating genealogy cousins.
Very impressed mary! Fun to watch and learn the history of the times!
Upper New York is really wonderful at preserving their history of Colonial and Revolutionary times. There are forts and re-enactors and parks with descriptions of historical events. And there are SO MANY! Driving through some of these remote locations along the many rivers lets you imagine taking that trip on a horse on a cordoroy road. And people WROTE! They were literate and kept journals that gave you incredible details. I used to travel from library to library within New York, scooping up everything I could find on anyone remotely connected to my main research subjects.
For example, Erastus Corning took in a bunch of his wife’s sisters and married them off to the people involved with his banks and railroads. One of them was married to William Watts Sherman, the son of Sarah Sherman Gibson’s brother. They had two sons, one named Erastus Corning Sherman and the other named Henry Gibson Sherman. William Watts Sherman’s second wife was Henry Gibson’s daughter Sarah Maria. I saw her HUGE painting hanging over the piano of one of her descendants.
I can do this sort of genealogy connecting with Henry Livingston and Clement Moore. Fascinating to watch the family lines weave together.

“from my vantage, I’d agree”
Oh my word!!!!! How do these things happen, nim? Cats are the darndest creatures!
I don’t know how to post pics, but there are some in the following link that tickle me.
Cats ain’t nuthin’ but miniature lions and tigers.
And sometimes…….lions and tigers are just big kitties.
Lion in a wheelbarrow…..

How cute!!!!! AllCat!!!
LOLOL!!!!! Indeed!
It’s a neighbor”hood” cat
Good one!
LOL!!!
“If I fits, I sits”
Pretty remarkable feat of balance getting up there.
Yes, cripes! Didn’t think about the journey!
Yes, yes, yes, yes!
Indeed!!!!!
Leon, as pur Caturday…
Love that baby, yet I will up-one you with baby Ben…notice the Christmas tree in his eyes.
And here is Ben grown up.
Ha, just noticed…lots of tail!
Had one Maine Coon that convinced my daughter and I that the tail was it’s own person, the way she sorta waved it around glamorously.
Greg, you are so CORRECT!!! Ben’s tail just moves glamourously as its own entity!!!!!
A French twist, so to say!
Oh, and Greg, when Ben walks away from you, he has what looks like little pantaloons like the Swiss Guard in the Vatican City! Really Swish!!!!
thinking “fiesta en mi pantalones”
LOLOLOL!!!!!
Ben has a Swiffer!!!
Stunning!
Awwww!!! TY!
My mother saw him in a PETCO window on a bench, after he was picked up from a cement factory, of all places.
To this day he still doesn’t like loud men’s voices! I can understand why.
She put a deposit down on him for $5 and then paid the other $75.
And now…priceless!!! Once in awhile I post his pinups just because he is CUTE!!!
I remember his name was Titan for about 5 weeks! The foster parents did that. I guess, cement-ish!
His name became Benjamin because my Mother’s two earlier cats were Betsy and Ross! LOL!
Betsy was a shadow, yet Ross was the most accessible cat on earth! Flirted with all female visitors. Needed to cook with Dad by putting front paws up on the cabinets anytime the kitchen was in full swing. Loved any faucet and being hit by a squirt gun!!!
He WAS Casanova!!!
Ross is the grey one!!!! As kittens.
2 beautiful and sweet little kitties.
They are cute. Too bad Betsy was so shy!!!! She was a beautiful cat.
Beautiful Cat. Reminds me of the greatest cat in the world, my Smokey who crossed the Rainbow Bridge long ago.
Still miss him.
Oh!! May God bless Smokey and you, Colkitto!!!!
Congratulations on a handsome member of your family. (The cat’s cute, too!)
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Bless you, Mary. This little kid has given his family many wonderful moments!
love those wicker baskets, we had one around our house as a child, late ’50s
My mother’s collections are pretty fantastic! Wink that you noticed, nim!
Let alone the antique chest!
I believe Ben is from Norwegian Forest Cat ancestry.
Any cat experts here?
Yep, that’s cute!
LOL!!!
Hello Fellow Treepers,
Bench by Blueberry Pond — We’re back to snow in Northeast Ohio. Photo taken by me at the Holden Arboretum years ago. Wishing all here a wonderful winter weekend to enjoy with a nice, hot cup of tea, coffee, or hot chocolate! Stay warm!
Beautiful! What kinds of Ducks have you got at that gorgeous pond and birds there?
Thanks Colkitto! I was happier with the lifers of Pine Siskin and Purple Finch seen with a Sunday Morning Birdwalk group long ago at the Holden Arboretum than with any duck species … don’t recall any intriguing ducks there personally, basically just lots of Canada Geese, then again, I normally am not the world’s greatest morning person so the ducks probably all fly away five minutes before I show up! In yesterday’s Open thread I posted three Trumpeter Swans from Southern Ohio though … Have you been doing much birding this winter? 🙂
I had some really cool car ride birding spots where I used to live in NJ. Knew all the hotspots as I lived near the Ocean & Mtns so had many locations. Here down in SC not the same, but there is a spot a small pond that no one really knows and this little pond gets Redheads, Canvasbacks, Buffleheads, Lesser Scaup, Hooded Mergansers, Ringnecks. They are really close also. I haven’t checked it yet this year. That’s about the best spot as I am off the Atlantic Flyway unlike where I used to live. Its kinda of a bird desert sadly
You are definitely duck rich and well versed in ducks! From your list, I’ve only seen Lesser Scaup and a Ringneck. And yeah, the spectacular blend of varied habitat of both ocean AND mountains such as found in NJ is hard to beat. I hope there’s something regional in SC that you’ve found or will find to treasure! The hidden pond sounds like a promising start …
Very Nice , Phoenix 😊
Bench , Snow , Trees ..
🎶These are a Few of my Favorite Things🎶
💘
Thank you very much, RyderLee!
Hopefully you have an abundance of benches, snow, and trees where you live! 🙂
Ditto – minus “snow!”
It’s beautiful, though.
(a southern gal …)
Okay, Miss.Della.B. … so what would you prefer instead of snow?
Inquiring minds want to know … 🙂
You’re too funny, p!
It’s gorgeous! Love every.single.one of your pics, and eagerly look forward to your posts!
You’ve tremendous talent, God-given, no doubt!
Just born and raised in the south, cold weather makes these ole bones hurt…🤪
Thank you very much for your kind compliments, Miss.Della.B.,
It just seemed to me that in the South, you must have something of beauty all around you that is less common up North. So instead of “benches, snow, and trees” … for you it might be “benches, rhododendrons or azaleas, and trees” … 🙂
Beauty surrounds us here! I love it all – even a weed growing in a concrete crack.
First thoughts- I love Southern Magnolia trees, all varieties of hydrangeas (esp white ones), flowering dogwood trees, and the lowly primrose.
Down the road are acres and acres of cotton, now with open bolls. Just beautiful!
Flower gardening is my “go-to” in spring through fall. So, in winter I tend to house plants.
Benches are lovely – but you can’t sit too long! I’d rather have a porch swing, with fluffy cushion, and a cold drink. Especially in the lazy, hazy days of summer.
How is that? Swing, flowers, trees. (plus the birds.)
Swing, flowers, birds in trees … I love your list, Miss.Della.B! 🙂
It’s always such a treat to see your work. Besides your compositions, your focus depth is just amazing.
Thank you very much, Mary Van Deusen! 🙂
Medwyn’s Valley
Very idyllic-looking! Looks rather far away from the Shire though. Would definitely make me late for supper to try and find the path there …
Beautiful!
Carolina Chickadee. 3 years ago a pair nested in my hanging Bluebird box. My neighbor who introduced me to Birds used to feed them out of her hand. I do not see as many of them in my new location, unfortunately as they are yard favorites.
Can definitely see why Chickadees are your favorites … this one is super cute! 🙂
Oh my goodness. So beautiful!
They have a variety of calls / sounds….

One more . . .
………………..
Garrison. Mesmerized!
Galimova is so refreshing! Gorgeous!
Vidovic, not my favorite of the three, yet lovely.
Barrios! Nothing else to say. Magnifico!
Now, Florida, is so unique! She has an exquisite full, almost ‘heavy’ style. Having not heard her before, within this piece are simple, direct and strong notes.
Maybe you can decipher. Is this reflective of the piece or her interpretation?
Alexandra, is one of a new generation superbly well trained and gifted classical guitarists. IMHO what we’re hearing in her performance is her sense of pacing. Too many players play Julia Florida with a faster tempo. But when they do that they ignore the essential mood of the piece. Guitar players have been discussing the “secrets” of playing Barrios the way he “intended” for decades now (he was an intentionally mysterious guy). Simply put, Alexandra gets it.
Now that you’ve explained about Alexandra and Julia Florida and Barrios and what to listen for / why you posted this rather than something else, Garrison, I went in and listened. Never heard of this music until now. It’s very nice. 🙂
Oh, yes! My apologies, Garrison. I meant Alexandra.
Yes, Alexandra has an exceptional ‘hand’ or presence on her guitar. Almost like Segovia. Telling a story through guitar.
Similarly to Fado in Portuguese, I believe.
I so enjoy her inflection or whatever you might call ‘personality’ of her craft. She has IT!
Garrison, I am so glad you posted these for everyone to hear the different styles. TY!!!!
“Hey, Mom. Who are these little guys?”
awwww, cute
nim, so very comic. Puppies just want to be part of the pack. I think the Shepherd pup was trying to cuddle with Mom and kittens, wasn’t sure where to fit in!!
Very fun video. The pup is SO enthralled!!!
LOVE Dylan! Thank you.
not dark yet …
The images in “It’s not dark yet, but it’s getting there” are very powerfully human.
Great video. And the images. Incredible. Like Feisty said in his reply, “very powerfully human.”
I was amazed when Hootie and the Blowfish “borrowed” lines from Tangled Up in Blue on one of their songs. Obviously, it was with permission as the lines were exactly the same. I think this is one of Dylan’s best lyrical efforts… the story told in detail in the words of the song
Neil’s a little bit weird but he did put out some good tunes
9/11 tribute
I really like his Buffalo Springfield work, but he had some gems with Crazy Horse. His Decade double album/CD has some of his best songs on it. I still listen to him. Good stuff.
Here’s a good one. Love the banjo backing him up.
Makes me think of my Father. Harvest is a great one. I always really liked “There’s A World” from that CD

CHIEF OF SINNERS THOUGH I BE
This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie, and don’t tell the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
–1 John 1: 5-9
1 Chief of sinners though I be,
Jesus shed his blood for me,
died that I might live on high,
lives that I might never die.
As the branch is to the vine,
I am his and he is mine!
2 Oh, the height of Jesus’ love,
higher than the heav’ns above,
deeper than the depths of sea,
lasting as eternity,
love that found me— wondrous thought—
found me when I sought him not.
3 Only Jesus can impart
comfort to a wounded heart,
peace that flows from sin forgiv’n,
joy that lifts the soul to heav’n,
faith and hope to walk with God
in the way that Enoch trod.
4 Chief of sinners though I be,
Christ is all in all to me;
all my wants to him are known,
all my sorrows are his own.
He sustains the hidden life
safe with Him from earthly strife.
5 O my Savior, help afford
by your Spirit and your Word.
When my wayward heart would stray,
keep me in the narrow way;
grace in time of need supply
while I live and when I die.
Amen 1530. Thank you. ✝️
The title of the song you presented above reminds of John Bunyans greatest book. Not his most famous.
“Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners”. It was written around 1666.
Everyone should take a crack at reading it!
Hi Frank. Good to hear from you. I’ll try the book. Thanks for the suggestion.

Called By God
I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” —Isaiah 6:8
God did not direct His call to Isaiah— Isaiah overheard God saying, “…who will go for Us?” The call of God is not just for a select few but for everyone. Whether I hear God’s call or not depends on the condition of my ears, and exactly what I hear depends upon my spiritual attitude. “Many are called, but few are chosen” (Matthew 22:14). That is, few prove that they are the chosen ones. The chosen ones are those who have come into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ and have had their spiritual condition changed and their ears opened. Then they hear “the voice of the Lord” continually asking, “…who will go for Us?” However, God doesn’t single out someone and say, “Now, you go.” He did not force His will on Isaiah. Isaiah was in the presence of God, and he overheard the call. His response, performed in complete freedom, could only be to say, “Here am I! Send me.”
Remove the thought from your mind of expecting God to come to force you or to plead with you. When our Lord called His disciples, He did it without irresistible pressure from the outside. The quiet, yet passionate, insistence of His “Follow Me” was spoken to men whose every sense was receptive (Matthew 4:19). If we will allow the Holy Spirit to bring us face to face with God, we too will hear what Isaiah heard— “the voice of the Lord.” In perfect freedom we too will say, “Here am I! Send me.”
WISDOM FROM OSWALD CHAMBERS
The fiery furnaces are there by God’s direct permission. It is misleading to imagine that we are developed in spite of our circumstances; we are developed because of them. It is mastery in circumstances that is needed, not mastery over them.

Howdy Spicy – your post directed me to this song to share…
Thank you parichute for posting that! One of the best songs ever, and I’ve not seen it done by a performer, other than my church (I dont get out much apparently, Lol).
I did once see a video put together , to this song, that had a clip of mother theresa and pope john paul II. I freeze framed and printed out the shot, and it turned out great!
I then gave the photo to my mom, who loved the two of them so much (and was once in the same room as mother theresa!). She cherished it bedside till her death (nov 2020 at 93).

The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who hope in His steadfast love. – Psalm 147:11
Reverence is a rarity in today’s world of fast and flamboyant fame. Who triggers deep respect in your heart? On a human level, it takes many shared experiences for trust to be proven, and the testing of faithfulness is a prerequisite to labeling anyone you know “honored.”
Your faith is partly a by-product of recognizing God’s work on your behalf. You have tested His love by asking Him to save you regardless of your unworthiness and found Him to be full of salvation for you through His Son! Because He so lavishly offers you grace in salvation, you venture to request mercy for the wounds you cause Him and others in your human failures.
As you are filled with His forgiveness and blessed with the presence of His Spirit, you find awe and reverence for Him, which the Bible also calls “fear.“
The natural response to knowing God’s character firsthand is fear and reverence.
While you are becoming acquainted with God on your faith journey, He already knows you, “For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust” (Psalm 103:14). He has set you up for success in your relationship with Him by nature of discovery.
The more you seek to know Him, the more your heart will worship Him, reverently fearing His greatness and goodness.
Those that do not know Him cannot imagine the reality of who He is and will not understand your reverence. He must be encountered to be known.
Pray that God will reveal Himself to those in American leadership positions this year, that they too may honor His name.

Question: Does anyone else think its unusual that the thread on did/did’nt take vaccine has 1.7k responses in 12 hours?
I’ve been lurking in the treehouse for 6 years or so and have never seen that kind of flood of comments.
I’ve never more comments either.
Lots of sharp lurkers with little or “no comment” here?
What would an antonym be for the your handle: cosmicbluehippo?
Beats the sh_t out of me. Earthlyredmouse? TerrestrialOrangeAmoeba?
These days I don’t comment much. I learn more from the insight of others. CBH is my only handle and I’m not Stasi
But I don’t put anything past the deep state secret police anymore
Agree – interesting!
I’m still “watching” from afar, much like when the vaccine was first rolled out…👀
cosmicbluehippo,
It is time to care to not transforming CTH in a boring site for religion.
Here, for many months, are several Cristian people who wrote simple phrases or ideas. Now it seems taken by aliens that feed on words.
There are dozens of sites, in English, to read and learn about Christ.
CTH lives for the truth and is an good option for people’s earth problems.
God will save us all.
Not unusual at all. CTH has become quite well-known across the ‘net. Not everyone comments but many visit. The Mods can tell you how many visit on average per day/week/etc.
A thread such as the one Sundance posted seeking input about personal opinion on the Vaxx is in very short supply. Have you seen a similar request on any other popular sites? I haven’t. SD actually requested readers input, not just a poll with a Yes or No. Thousands of people need just that- a direct, unconditional, non-judgmental request to share their thoughts and experiences. When they see so many others responding…it’s contagious.
I have yet to see a single catastrophic change predicted due to “climate change” manifest anywhere but in the feverish minds of the alarmists. And yet they keep on. It is not temporary insanity. It’s not science. It is pure and simple malfeasance born out of greed and an overriding megalomaniacal desire for the power to control the lives and destinies of others.

You’re right!!!
I see a catastrophic change… in our economy and government’s responsible spending. Those are horror shows.
Glad you’re angry!
I say we throw a few trillion at earthquake and tsunami abatement while we’re at it.
Hmmm. Maybe a couple trillion for asteroid destruction? You know, just to make sure the big blue ball keeps moving along safely.
Yeeehaaaaaww!
Alright. I’m wasting time. It’s time to get my fingernails dirty!
Hang on a minute, Frank, I think yer on to something.
But we gotta word it in such a way that the climate change folks cannot argue it.
Earthquakes are caused by CLIMATE CHANGE!
Tsunamis are caused by CLIMATE CHANGE!
Asteroids are caused by CLIMATE CHANGE!
I suspect there’s a certain Cortez congresscritter that would attempt to make that argument.
Your late on the earthquakes. They already thought of that one.

But don’t get discouraged, the NYT says “scientists say” we are saving the planet!
Never mind that despite trillions spent globally, atmospheric CO2 continues to increase at the same rate.
I realized the environmental movement was a fraud when their ‘science’ says human population growth is the #1 factor for environmental degradation, green house has & pollution increases, wildlife decline through wildlife habitat destruction and than told their students to have zero or 1 child to save the environment and than say nothing about immigration!
For further research look into David Gelbaum’s $100 million dollar bribe to get the Sierra Club America’s largest so called “environmental organization” to take stopping immigration off of their charter and never discuss. Was Gelbaum working alone or for a cabal looking to destroy America and its environment?

Hi Michael, replied to your “knew you before ….” post, day before yesterday I think. See what you think, and then listen to the lyrics again. Yes, please.
That’s precious.
Awwww!!!
So sweet – surely, we should learn from the animals. All kinds.
Something you need to know. When they talk about drought on the news concerning both state and Federal numbers, they are referencing the Palmer Drought Index.
U.S. Climate Division Weekly Palmer Drought Indices from nClimDiv | Drought.gov
The Palmer drought index factors in demand! IOW it is not just the water available for use that is calculated but also the historical usage by humans for a given area. So what this means is that even after the flooding rains there will still be drought in much of California since the parts of the state lack adequate reservoir storage.
Also there is a lag in the time of about a month in the reports from the Palmer drought index.
California has led the nation in dismantling reservoirs. They must be proud
God morning, Treepers, (it’s definitely a GOD morning)
It’s Caturday. Alas, it’s also time for me to let go of my majestic Russian Blue, Danny. We have appt to help him along to Heaven at 10:50 EST. Will you please pray for me, while I let my boy go? He’s given us 12 faithful years of being the biggest adult in the room. LOL A studious boy. One who never demanded anything, but gave his everything. He was so good and faithful. I have to take his littermate Timmy, because Tim needs to understand his bro bro won’t be coming home with us. Such is the hell of the day for me. My teen daughter is having a sleepover with her friend next weekend, here, and I can’t have Dan pass while her friend is here. Plus stress. No more stress for my Danny boy.
This song is fitting. I’ve asked Lord to have Dan meet me at the gate when I get there. I will miss him. It’s days like this, I wish there was someone else to drive the car. I hate adulting.
Prayers for you today. It’s so hard letting go of our loyal pets.
I remember having to call my grown son, overseas in the military, when we had to make the decision to end the suffering of our 17 yr old family dog. She was dying from kidney failure.
It never gets easier, but you will see him again, over The Rainbow Bridge.
God Bless.
If your going to be with him as he passes then why not take chocolate with you for him to lick. Not going to hurt him to enjoy a taste of something usually forbidden. That is what Sherry did with our last Cocker, Cocoa as she held her as she was put down.
Rah,
When we adopted him and his brother… they were fed junk dry food. About the equivalent of a twinkie to the human diet. A few days ago, I stopped at PetsMart and talked with the gentleman there… he lovingly suggested reverting back to the junk food for a bit. They didn’t have small bags, so brought home 16 lb behemoth bag of pure nostalgia. Should have seen the look on both their fur faces. Very very precious. Dan has enjoyed some delectable morsels. He gets whatever he wants… and now won’t even touch tuna. He did take over my cereal bowl with Honey Bunches of Oats in it and my Cream of Wheat. I added half and half for him. Whatever he wants… he’s my good good boy.
You and Sherry are my kind of people, Rah. Blessings to you both.
He will be God’s cat as he was yours, JWoo. You and your daughter have given him the best life he could have ever had. Having had to let go of so many, I am sorrowful with you both. And my heart is truly aching with yours. We’re here when you need us. Bet💕
Hugs to you Betsy. Thank you.
Dear jwoo, I will be thinking about you so much. Definitely the hardest part of being an animal lover.
Thanks Slow. It’s done. He gave the vet hell with the catheter and he settled right into my arms. Protecting his momma until the end. I’ll miss burying my face into his fur, but he’s with so many who have gone before us now. Tired of having my heart ripped out. “Homesick” by MercyMe says it all.
Sending prayer up! So sorry you’re in this great trial. God will take you through and give you a firm place to stand.
I empathize with you about “adulting.” It’s hard to do nowadays in a childish world. But somebody has to do it.
And the Lord is trusting you with that role!
Best of all, since God is your Heavenly Father, you’re the child. His child, through child-like faith.
He will give you all that you need for today and the days ahead.
We went through this with our beloved lab. It’s tough.
I’m up to the task, Della… just would rather…not. Heaven can’t come soon enough
Be strong in the Lord, and in His mighty power.
You are much needed here (on planet earth)!
Praying for you and Danny, that the Lord bring His peace.
Thank you Phoenix. Hugs sister
Sorry to hear friend.
Jesus was with me through it all…too many times to count. Handing Danny to our Lord and Savior was my honor… like so many loved ones before. It is an honor to be a steward to their care. It’s like ripping my heart from my chest and placing it on the altar. I was given a small cat when my mom died when I was nine… so they really are a small consolation prize, to soften hard blows, but they are family. All has a special seat in our hearts and minds, never to be vacated. Not sure I’ll be adding anymore though. I know my Dad is totally loving our Dan right now.. and Danny will recognize our Kris. All of us reunited when each his or her race is won.
That is one of the best ways to look back on when that day comes for our fur family members and what we are as caretakers aka “Stewards” to Animals (all other creatures here). I could not think of a better way to say it Jwoo. And I really appreciate your personal reminiscences with your beloved fur family members.
My best wishes to you & your loved ones.
JWoo, we’re all so sorry for your loss. You are in the prayers of everyone here, as you can see.
It seems like it gets harder each time.
It sounds so superficial and trite to say, “think about the good times.” But that seemed to help, last time this happened in our family.
Even — especially — thinking about the bittersweet times when furry friends get older and have a little trouble getting around. They still give us as much love as before, and teach us even more.
May God comfort you and your family.
Thank you, 1530. It does seem to get harder each time. Time with love is just too short. Praise God for our salvation and eternity. We are just passing through. Hugs, friend.
Prayer for you and your departed Danny, JWoo. I’ve had to do that twice in the past but it never gets easier.
The song is an unusually good performance, but the meaning is doubly special today. God Bless.
Mornin’ all.
Here is another one from Harry Nilsson. One really needs a great sound system to appreciate it. Great drum solo and the bass maxed my woofers out many a time.

PLEASE PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
AMEN.

JESUS LOVES THE LITTLE CHILDREN
Verse of the Day for Saturday, January 14, 2023
✟
“Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:39 (KJV)
Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered!!!
Good morning Treepers! ✝️
Happy “cartoons and cereal day” everyone.
Another saturday! Blessed be thy day!
Batting helmets, free agency, and multi-million dollar contracts did not exist yet. This was before the “woke culture” ruined Major League Baseball.
A short video clip of the 1947 World Series. Al Gionfriddo made a great catch when Dimaggio hit one towards the stands.
For those looking for a clean movie to watch with their children or just adults this was a decent movie set in rural France about a girl and a Wolf cub she adopts. Family friendly
Agree! It’s a very good movie despite being dubbed for English. I just watched it on Netflix last week.
. . . but deliver us from the Evil One.

Prayer of Saint Ioannikios the Great of Bithynia (+ 846)
My hope is the Father, my refuge the Son, my protection the Holy Spirit. O Holy Trinity, glory to Thee.
From Small Compline
Rejoice Virgin Theotokos, Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, for thou hast borne the Savior of our souls. (Thrice)
1947 was a pivotal year; a lot of events took place that changed things around the globe:
“The Truman Doctrine was proclaimed which led to the development of the Marshall Plan.
-The Central Intelligence Agency was established after the OSS was disbanded
-India and Pakistan became independent countries
-The price for a ride on the New York subway jumped from a nickel to a dime after having been a nickel for the previous 43 years.
-The Hollywood Black List heralded the search for communists and “subversives” that would divide the country.
-The Bell X-1 broke the sound barrier on October 10th
-Willard Frank Libby developed the “atomic clock” which would contribute to the study of archeology
-Another discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls.
-Kenneth Arnold saw bright objects flying at tremendous speeds when he flying his small plane over eastern Washington state. He was searching for the wreckage of a cargo plane that had crashed. The media coined the term “flying saucers”
-The Roswell “UFO incident” occurred in early July when Mac Brazel found debris scattered over a field on his ranch
-Thor Heyerdahl crossed the Pacific Ocean on his raft, the “Kon Tiki”
-Jackie Robinson became the first black player in Major League Baseball
-During 1947, James Michner published “Tales of the South Pacific”
-Jet Pilot won the Kentucky Derby
-The New York Yankees took the World Series from the Brooklyn Dodgers 4 games to 3
-The company that would become the Sony Corporation was founded”
I paraphrased some of the events that were listed, (there’s more to the list) and made sure I placed quotation marks at the beginning and end of the list.
I found this summary of events in the introduction of a hardcover book, (Isaac Asimov Presents the Golden Years Of Science Fiction, Fifth Series). The book has a wonderful collection of classic sci-fi stories; Poul Anderson, Ray Bradbury, and Jack Williamson authored some of the short stories.
Fascinating stuff in a hard cover book that I found in a thrift store. Paid 50 cents for it.
By coincidence, I happen to have a 1947 “Pages of Time” booklet on my desk. I retrieved it from a box of my deceased parents’ documents and photographs. They were married in 1947.
Here is a very interesting piece of trivia:
“Microwave cooking oven was patented on October 8, 1945 with the one of the first prototypes placed at a Boston restaurant for testing. The first public was in January 1947 in a Speedy Weeny vending machine in Grand Central Terminal which sold freshly cooked hot dogs. The first commercially available microwave oven also appeared in 1947. It was made by Raytheon, it was called Radarange had 1.8 metres in height and weighed 340 kilograms. Its cost was $5,000 which is today around $52,000.”
Courtroom judge: “Ms. Pelosi, you have been brought here for out of control drinking and unruly behavior”.
Nancy: “Great. When do we start?”
