I don’t think they’re entirely wrong. DeSantis is a CoC shill, but Trump for all of his accomplishments really dropped the ball in some major areas:
1) His continued support of the measures taken by his administration in regards to COVID-19, and his utterly inability to speak the truth about what has and continues to transpire as a result of his acquiescence to people such as Fauci and Birx when it mattered.
2) His continued complaining about the stolen election when he had the chance to do something about it has passed. I believe the election was stolen, I’ll say it, but his public statements and actions are doing nothing to change the current trajectory of how elections are carried out in this country. It simply makes him look like a sore loser.
3) DeSantis has been clever enough to move ahead in Florida and show actual tangible results in policy which protected Florida state residents from some of the worst aspects of the leftist efforts in that state. Like many of you, I have my doubts if he will work to protect Americans as a whole in the same capacity if he is elected President, or whether he will ultimately sell us out. But Americans have a short memory, and DeSantis is clever enough to continuously tout his accomplishments to date. The further Trump’s term fades from memory due to the passage of time, the more his accomplishments will be forgotten. Trump has a full array of bureaucrats, colleagues, and agencies dedicated to erasing and rewriting his legacy. Is it any surprise that even his own supporters have no faith he will prevail against forces such as this?

I think if Trump had been more disciplined in his public discourse he would have gained the respect of more people within the leadership of his own party. My initial reaction to Casey DeSantis was not Melanie Trump….it was more like Jackie Kennedy, which is more in line with the recreation of ‘Camelot’. The strings behind DeSantis are increasingly obvious…why would anyone think that Jeb Bush in full view was a good look? The endorsements, the funding, etc., now preclude any further speculation. One by one, individuals we once thought were ‘white hats’ are showing their true colors.
