In a tragic event Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin (#3) collapsed unconscious after a routine collision during with Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins. The game was in the first quarter at Paycor Stadium. After the hit and tackle, Hamlin got up off the ground, stood in place for a moment and then collapsed unconscious on the field.
The 24-year-old was immediately tended to by medical personnel and was administered CPR for roughly 10 minutes. He was unresponsive as he was put on a stretcher. Hamlin was given oxygen as he was loaded into an ambulance on the field. He was then transported to UC Medical Center, a level one trauma center, where he is in critical condition, according to the league. Hamlin has a pulse but is not breathing on his own.
The NFL suspended the game and issued the following statement:

What happened to the show must go on? Many games have stopped for severe injuries but never postponed. What is different?

Very interesting question and the first one I asked myself. Was a football fan since I was 12, seen thousands of games and countless injuries. I was at the NY Jet game when Dennis Byrd took a hit that left him paralyzed on the field and taken away via ambulance.
I no longer watch football but tuned in when I saw the headline. As I watched and listened to the affect of the broadcasters, immediate reactions of players and noted the words and absence of the replay, I said “something isn’t right, something is different”.
I read on GP that they worked on him for 10 min, CPR, he was not breathing “but had a pulse”, however found it extremely odd that the live broadcasters provided no such accounting. Surely they knew. I concluded that he died on the field, they knew it but weren’t saying it. Apparently, that was not the case.
So, why did this injury cause this unprecedented reaction? Could very well be the fact that CPR was administered for 9min?, unresponsive. I don’t ever recall this happening before. I don’t ever recall seeing CPR on the football field before. Given those facts, that perspective, the players reactions are understandable.
Also consider the cultural changes we have been through. We are an overly emoting society (IMO). We no longer have “the show must go on” backbone and football, in particular, has ceded most of the traditional authoritative norms to the players. The players have all the power. If they don’t want to play, no one gonna make ’em. The vast majority of the viewers who were tweeting were crying to cancel the game moments after the injury without having any facts. At that point, it looked like any other injury to home viewers, but their reactions were different too.

I have personally, many many times, arrived on-scene (3 to 10 minutes later after you figure, 9-1-1 call lag, get out to fire engine lag, drive-time, etc) of someone “dead” and after 5 to 10 minutes of good CPR and drugs (epinephrine and atropine) have gotten spontaneous cardiac rhythms back without respirations.
He had immediate medical attention along with paramedics on-site to administer drugs/shock. I’ve seen good CPR convert asystole into V-fib and drugs offer the catalyst but hardly ever conversion without “shocking”. All things were there immediately, which is normal for big events.
I’m curious what caused it, I didn’t see what happened so I can’t even speculate. Traumatic cardiac arrest is easier (depending on the cause) to get a heartbeat back because (theoretically) the heart is in good condition.

I was with you up until your last paragraph. Nothing I have read/heard is *screaming* clot shot. However, it is beyond obvious that many, many athletes of various ages are “dying suddenly”. Knowing pro athletes were mandated to get the shot, it is NOT unreasonable to go *there* – of course IMO.

I suppose under ordinary circumstances your analysis might be more convincing, however what do we know these days? One, the clot shots result in several physical syndromes that result in sudden death. Myocarditis is one, but various forms of emboli and vascular harms are becoming more frequent. Youth and vibrant health do not protect one from the effects of the injectable gene therapy. Two; these types of sudden deaths are our of the ordinary and suggest an extraordinary cause, we can safely assume that the overwhelming majority of our high level athletes submitted trustingly to the shots as they were compelled to. Only a few notable exceptions, who were viciously attacked, had the moral courage and good sense to reject the pressure.
Go back to Len Bias, healthy young athletes generally do not simply drop dead when they apparently do not realize they are in danger. We look for a cause for the extraordinary. My perspective is that unless an alternative explanation is put forth, the most probable cause is the injection. Sadly, I expect to see a great deal more of this in the future.
Oldschool, This was a routine football play and tackle, no helmet to helmet contact, not overly physical, or any flagrant activity by either player. As an aside, 24 year old athletes in the prime of the lives and careers do not collapse suddenly from contact. The NFL forced players to take an experimental vaccine for a man-made virus and to take multiple boosters that are experimental. What could go wrong with that dictate? It seems to me that we saw it last not on national TV. My prayers are with this young man, his family, his team mates and friends.
I believe this player died right there on the field. The teammates who witnessed his death cried inconsolably while the announcers feigned ignorance.
They hooked his body to a machine, but we can already surmise he will not wake up. Sometimes they wait for all the family to gather before they make the call. I’ve seen this happen before.
But I suspect that, this time, there were other motives to avoid stating the obvious to the millions of horrified onlookers. And I’ll just leave it at that.
I am in agreement with your analysis. He died on the field, and yes there are other factors that caused the reaction. My only dissent is there may be other factors in addition to an AE from shot.
The fact that the ambulance left the field so slowly and drove at a moderate Pace to the hospital indicates to me that they knew there was no point in hurrying. Which is not the case for a heart attack victim who they think has a chance. The poor guy is on artificial life support.

My wife and I do not normally watch the NFL but last night we did. We witnessed the player’s collapse. The reactions of the players on the field and the broadcasters strongly suggested something major had occurred. Then we learned that they had administered CPR on the player. I am not a medical professional. I do however remember taking a CPR course back in the 70”s conducted by a very direct and professional fireman. He informed us that if we ever came across a person needing CPR, that person was dead. His point was that we should not worry about “hurting” the patient because without CPR they had no chance of resuscitation. So, when I saw the collapse and learned they had administered CPR I realized that the young man had died in front of my eyes. My immediate thought was “The Jab”. If this thought makes me “reactionary”, so be it.
By the way, I was in attendance and have seen a similar incident at a college game. Only difference was the patient was a referee. He made a full recovery. Praying for this young man.
Being a soccer fan I was watching the Euros when Christian Eriksen collapsed on the field just as Damar Hamlin did last night. The players on the field showed the exact same horrified expressions as did the Bills. They knew he suffered a heart attack. Luckily Christian received CPR and was brought back to life. When he was rushed from the field he was moving and has recovered and is playing soccer with a pace maker. I am sure millions of people were praying for Damar last night and will continue to do so. I also thought the jab was responsible for this horrific attack on a physically fit young man. I pray we can have a civil discussion about the cause, but I doubt it.
I am an RN, certified in ACLS. I agree with everything you stated, including MY FIRST THOUGHT WAS shot. A first thought and a conclusive statement are two entirely different things. Ruling out every other possibility, especially without facts, examination, or any medical background is biased opinion. We have reached a point in our society where there is no debate, discussion and no behavioral difference between right or left.
As an RN I do know – you do NOT do CPR on someone who has a pulse. Period. For all of us who are suspicious of the “vaccine” and the now countless numbers of sudden death, myocarditis & pericarditis, blood clots, etc., in adolescence, young, and middle-aged adults, are we expected to just turn a blind eye and move on? This unfortunate young athlete was clinically dead on the field, and CPR was begun, and AED was used several times – all over a period of 9 minutes. That is not done when someone has a pulse.
I am totally aware of not doing CPR on someone with a pulse. That further proves that sitting here, we know nothing and if we want truthful answers, objective information, tests, data need to be gathered.

For the record, I have always been pretty healthy. I year after the clot shot I develop cancer. You can imagine my guess on root cause. Alas, that’s not the same as proof. I am sure that most of the players thought he had died, or was going to die, after CPR was administered for many minutes. The players were visably shaken, and it would have been insensitive to continue the game. Continuing the game would have reflected poorly on the teams and the league.

A Pittsburgh FB Friend who has ties to the Steelers posted that he knew people on the ground and that Damar had a pulse.. Damar is a Pittsburgh guy, went to Pitt. It was uplifting to see everyone come together in prayer.

My husband used to play rugby. Players do not wear protective gear and are practically suffocated in certain plays. Never saw a cardiac arrest on the field and with this explanation rugby players should have been dropping like flies with all the chest pounding they endured.
That is a tough sport for sure but it doesn’t involve players with the size and speed of the NFL and where the goal is do damage to the opponent with full speed collisions.

Hard to survive 9 min of CPR without significant neurological damage.
It’s called intubation, layperson CPR circulates enough oxygenated blood for a few minutes; however, being intubated by a paramedic within a few minutes essentially elements neurological damage due to a lack of oxygenated blood.
The only thing that needs to be determined is whether it was a cardiac issue or respiratory issue (a secondary issued caused either a breathing or heartbeat issue) that led to cardiac arrests. The cause needs to be “fixed”’before spontaneous respirations will return (since he need medical intervention to breath I would assume it’s a respiratory related underlining cause).

I personally know five people who have died in the past year, plus one who survived a severe stroke. I “suspect” the clot shot in all six cases. In the case that I am most familiar with, my wife’s aunt, the death was without a doubt due to the shot.

We are sports fans in my house. I have watched football for 60 years, a Dallas Cowboy fan. Love Mahomes, Josh Allen, Dak Prescott, etc. Will be sorta watching because we can’t stand all of the commercials. I watched last night and I have seen this scene before in the Euros when Christian Eriksen collapsed on the ground, died, and was brought back to life. The game did go on, but the players were devasted and you could tell it affected their game. Millions of people have been praying for this young man and will continue to do so. Sorry. I worked in pharmacy for 8 years. I’ve seen drugs go through the full evaluation process– only to be discovered to cause horrible side effects years later (particularly when administered to pregnant or nursing women– something that is/used to be unethical to do in trials).

I would bet that the team physicians give every football player a very through medical exam before the start of each season. That would rule out obvious heart conditions!

In all prior vaccine programs, that has always been the position. Once you establish a serious safety signal that results in death, assuming vaccine injury and looking to prove otherwise is the starting position.

However, to the point, I know of at least 40 football players in the NFL, college, high school that have died on the field from sudden cardiac arrest. These deaths happened well before MRNA jabs. So while rare, it does happen. High Impact, high performance sports pushes the human body at the very edge of safety. This is true for nearly all sports involving high performance.
It “could be” mRNA, or it could be a number of things that caused his health collapse.
I am not a doctor. But I know these things can happen.
What is more important is that we notice the excess mortality rates that are being observed in nearly all western states where the jab has been enforced. We do know there are deaths and other health issues related to this dangerous bioweapon enhancer.
But like, you I don’t know for a fact that this is the root cause of his death. it could be. It might not be. I think the mRNA aspect is the scariest as any foreign protein it generates will cause your immune system to attack your blood vessel walls, causing clotting and thus cell death in any tissue in the body, the most sensitive being the heart and the brain that can’t be repaired. The mRNA could code for a protein that looks like Mickey Mouse, but it will still cause the same problem.
All they need to do is force the injection of this mRNA on regular basis to progressively kill the human population. Increasing the amount of mRNA per injection increases the rate of death. So perhaps batches with more mRNA are also used to produce higher rates of random death.

It is certainly your prerogative to decline putting 1 & 1 together on this, however, the fact remains that as brutal as the NFL is, nothing & I mean nothing in the League’s history comes close to what happened to this young man.
