They will continue to raise rates for the foreseeable future. They believe they have leeway in the unemployment numbers and the stock market vs inflation. When the stock market is down around 28,000 and unemployment reaches about 5% from the current 3.7% they will steady the ship. Then when market is down around 24,000 and unemployment is pushing 6+% then they will start to decrease the rates. And inflation will NEVER hit 2% while they keep passing trillions in spending.

I have said it before I probably should not discuss the subject with people who have been divorced because they do not see marriage as a holy sacrament. Fighting a war in Russia during the winter is never a good idea, and yet time and again, people keep trying. The United States is as guilty of it as Napoleon.
In November of 1918, much of the world was jubilantly celebrating the end of World War I, the “war to end all wars.”
Around 5,000 American soldiers were part of an allied expedition to intervene in the ongoing Russian civil war against the “Red” Bolshevik forces. For a little over a year, the American Expeditionary Force in North Russia fought to give the anti-Bolshevik “White” Russians the upper hand.
As summer turned to fall in 1918, the combined forces of Britain, France, Italy, the United States and the rest of their allies were making drastic advances against their World War I enemies. Things were looking bleak for the Central Powers of Germany, Austria-Hungary, the Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria.
Things were looking good for the allies, but the Russians, who had negotiated a separate peace in March of 1918, were still locked in a brutal struggle for who would control Russia. Britain, France and the United States had sent the Tsar 110,000 new rifles and other war materials to help keep the Russian Empire in World War I. Since the Russian military was unable to distribute any of it, Russia dropped out anyway.
Those arms and supplies were sitting in a warehouse in the northern city of Arkhangelsk. The “Polar Bear Expedition,” as the mission had come to be called, was simple on paper. They were to capture the stored weapons and secure an area large enough for the White Russians to form a stable government and army. Neither of those things happened.
The Americans, at the request of the British and French, landed in the city in September 1918. They found the city was already occupied by the British, and they also found that the weapons cache was already discovered by the Bolsheviks, who’d made off with them.
To make matters worse, a force of Czech and Slovak armies called the Czech Legion was in danger of being overrun while fighting along the Trans-Siberian Railway, a front that was hundreds of miles long. The American 339th Infantry, which was largely overcome with Spanish flu, was sent to relieve the Czech Legion.
With the Czech Legion firmly out of reach, the allies tried to raise an anti-Bolshevik army from members of the local population. When winter arrived in force, the allies were without recruits. Then came the Bolshevik counterattack.
In October 1918, the Red armies inflicted a large number of casualties on the Americans, who had expected a relatively calm winter. Instead, the Red assault forced the allies to retreat back toward Arkhangelsk. They were forced to give up all their gains and take a loss of 10% of their force: 110 killed in combat, 30 missing and 70 dead from Spanish flu.
By the time the Polar Bears had secured their position in Arkhangelsk, World War I had ended in an armistice, and the port of Arkhangelsk was frozen over. Even though the war was over, the Americans in Russia would have to survive through the winter until a ship could exfiltrate them.
The soldiers were getting restless, subject to defending an area the size of Texas and Oklahoma alongside Russians who seemed disinterested in the outcome of the battle. The Americans struggled to tell the difference between a Bolshevik and an anti-Bolshevik. All the while, they were inundated by ambushes and Red propaganda.
The Red army continued its push against the foreigners throughout the winter. Its new offensive was so successful, the allies decided that their ultimate goal was getting out of there as soon as possible. It wasn’t until June 1919 that the USS Des Moines steamed into the port and picked up the Polar Bears.
In all, the Americans lost 344 dead to combat and disease, along with another 305 wounded. They even left 125 men behind. These men wouldn’t be returned home until the Veterans of Foreign Wars was allowed to retrieve their remains inside the Soviet Union in 1929.”

Fox News host Laura Ingraham even took to Twitter to open fire on McConnell’s chief budget negotiator Richard Shelby.
Rep. Chip Roy took to the House floor to denounce Mitch McConnell and Richard Shelby by name — even pointing out that the retiring Shelby was getting $656 million in earmarks for himself in the omnibus bill.
That’s an obscene retirement gift. Richard Shelby said a tearful goodbye to the Senate, and so the Senate wiped his tears with America’s checkbook.
Chip Roy was not alone in his condemnation of GOP Senate leadership. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Byron Donalds, Lauren Boebert, and Mike Lee all took to TV (or social media) to denounce the omnibus bill. The civil war between the GOP House and GOP Senate over the omnibus bill follows — by a few days! — the GOP’s not-so-secret attempt to negotiate a mass amnesty bill, which followed the capitulation of the GOP on the gay marriage bill, which followed the capitulation of the GOP on endless aid for Ukraine, which followed the capitulation of the GOP on restricting gun rights a few months ago.
In truth, the term “capitulation” is too kind a word for what the GOP actually did in most of these cases. That word assumes that some sort of fight took place when, in fact, “enthusiastic embrace” might be the more accurate phrase. The GOP has simply abandoned every one of its core principles in the last two years — the entire party platform! — and done so in such a flagrant fashion that even a transparent charlatan like Kevin McCarthy is concerned.

This bill can’t be read and comprehended overnight by any human. I am an extraordinarily fast reader and retain excellent comprehension when I exercise that skill; it is likely I’m in the 99th percentile in that regard. This bill is some five times the size, and thus physically impossible for a Congressperson or Senator to read prior to having to vote on it. It is therefore fraud by definition and, until and unless every person who has to vote on it can physically read it (should they choose to do so) it cannot be otherwise. For we, the people to permit such “laws” to be passed is an abomination; no government that does this is legitimate, ever, no matter what party is in power or for what purpose said things are put forward.
No Representative or Senator represents the people who elected said person when they vote for a bill under these circumstances. There is no excuse for it, ever, and there is particularly no excuse when this circumstance arises due to deliberate delay in the appropriations process that has been gutted and ginned up over the space of nearly two decades by both political parties. Were God to smote the Capitol with a meteor while the House is in session in response I’d have to offer a toast, and were the allegedly-represented people to choose a similar course of action I could no more than smirk. A man or woman who takes an oath under knowing false pretense, and to even contemplate such a bill and offer and allow it to come to the the floor, say much less vote for it, is sufficient evidence of willful false swearing as to their oath of office.
This is not a partisan issue and it matters not if you support whatever is purported to be in said legislation because by definition you cannot know that the effect of said legislation is in fact what is represented. For this reason the very premise of such a bill is fraudulent and fraud vitiates all agreements including any obligation of the citizens to follow any law whether that law constrains economic or physical acts.
This was trivially able to be stopped when it began more than 15 years ago with a simple rules change: No bill can be brought to the floor for a vote until and unless one business day of the chamber, in session, has passed for each one hundred pages of conformed text of legislation, and said legislation once published must be invariant.
That’s it. If you want to bring a bill to the floor that requires nearly a full box of 20lb bond to print you can — but you can’t vote on it until the chamber has been in session for 40 business days after you issue, print and distribute it.
So why hasn’t this been put into the rules of either chamber despite both GOP and Democrats holding same during the intervening years, and thus being fully capable of doing so as the majority party holds sway on the chamber’s Rules Committee?

The ballots printed by the “on-demand” printers were run with a different size than they were calibrated and set up for.
This is absolutely going to screw the tabulators with a very high degree of reliability, and the evidence is that it did. The actual physical ballots that were improperly printed exist and now both (1) what occurred and (2) how have been demonstrated in open court.
This is also basically impossible to have occur by “accident.” It could occur by stupidity or malice, but not accident.
Someone with administrative access to said machines had to go in there and change those parameters; they cannot change themselves.

I’ve been trying to understand why the State has developed this mania, almost monomania for war in Ukraine.
The State is monolithic: that I understood long ago. Donald Trump is an enemy of the State, so all departments of the State are likewise his enemies. Don’t ask a bureaucrat why..to them the question is foolish. And the State recognized quickly that Trump would serve as their whipping boy, their reason to be. A long list of crimes were neglected, while FBI functionaries pursued Donald Trump. The defence and maintenance of the State must always come first.
The poor, sad Republicans in Washington, like McConnell, have accepted that their role must be to serve the State. If the State wants war in Ukraine, then Mitch must deliver. Very few people have the courage, like Donald Trump, to swim upstream in the State cesspool.
A great book remains to be written, on how the State apparatus, in any country, stumbles and staggers on into war. World War One was a product of this phenomenon, more than WW II.
But big government is evermore prone to this madness, so it is imperative that we find the off-ramp.
