with that said, in our area the prices vary daily around 50 cents higher one day, 50 cents lower the next, drive a few miles and the variable is anywhere from 75 to 80 cents, the more tonier parts of town the variable is 1.00 up, next day .20 cents down, always inching higher by the time the weekend hits.

Well, during the last low price era, that cheap fuel mobilized the Branch 4 mercenaries all over the country during the summer of burn, loot and murder. Perhaps they’re gearing up for another assault. I won’t be surprised.
Where I live diesel is down a bit but still between 5 and 6 bucks a gallon. Highest I paid was in August at 6.50/gal.
I don’t buy gas very often due to the ethanol in it but gas has dropped more in price than diesel, now in some places below 4 bucks a gallon. Non-ethanol gas, what we call Clear 93, is still around 6.50/gal, pretty much what it’s been for the last four years.
SW Missouri, 87 octane regular is $2.79 and diesel is $3.99
i filled 2.77 in bridgeort mi along I-75 friday. 2.79 today.
Propanes still up, but thats common in winter, but if these lowered gasoline prices hold thru the summer, Propane SHOULD go down, as well.
Diesel always runs higher than gasoline, but it seems like the price difference is greater, than in the past.
Is this because there aren’t any Semis running on gasoline?

When I lived in North and South Dakota in the early 80’s, diesel was always a few pennies cheaper than regular. Bedsides all the farm equipment that ran on it, all the farmers had diesel pick ups.
Cadillac model in the early 80’s on diesel – I think diesel was cheaper then.
I had one of those Sevilles.. horrible engineering. Blown head gaskets!
In the late ’60’s early ’70’s diesel was 25 cents a gallon. I learned to drive on a Mercedes 140 D IIRC. It was a Benz and a Diesel.

Traveling the weekend before Thanksgiving, where I sampled fuel prices across two west coast states, I found weekend truck traffic to be down versus the decade or so of similar experience but overall traffic to be similar or up from historical experience.
One thing I noticed, having used the same stations for a few years on that route, was the diesel pumps often operated a slow as molasses, literally as slow as a gallon a minute at a few of them. Bizarre. Never seen that before. Also, due to the low flow, the shutoff wasn’t working so it was easy to overtop the fill neck. Also, oddly, prices at the truck stops tended to be higher for diesel than at typical auto stations. Historically, the truck stops have led the way on price.
Fuel demand may be down but I certainly didn’t see it in my sample drive of a bit under 1000 miles that weekend. My personal demand is way down but that’s on purpose, preserving assets and throwing sand in machinery whenever possible. Less fuel, more food and ammo. Adapt and overcome.
You want to see ‘less’, drive the bridges over Lake Shasta in NorCal. Scary. Where one is located, the lake was actually dry there. Never seen that in my many decades of living on the west coast, not even in ’77.
I drive through Shasta National Forest every month.
Those arms under the bridges are as low as I’ve ever seen them.
But that’s been that way for a couple years, now.

.35 cents per gallon tax in NC. Before any tax, gasoline on the open market right now is around $2.05 a gallon. Add on state/federal tax plus retail profit at the pump. So let’s do some math here: $2.98-.35= $2.63 . What ever the vendor paid for a gasoline contract, let’s say he bought it 1 week ago , 10,000 gallons at $2.20 plus tax .35 = $2.55 and the vendor adds on a profit per gallon. Normally it’s a few pennies per gallon. The vendor sells the gasoline at $3.00 a gallon, he keeps .45 cents a gallon until he gets a new contract at a different price. But you get the idea. So something doesn’t seem right over in NC.
It always lowers down some during the Christmas shopping season and then goes back up for spring break.
I just paid 4.99 at the cheapest place in my town for the lowest grade–East Bay Area, Ca.

The only objective evidence we can look at, is the mental excercise of “what if we didn’t have the 17th amendment, and State legislatures apponted U.S. Senators.

How about this scenario that Musk has not denied where millions of bots from the governments bot program are sent out on twitter to support the war in Ukraine therefore swaying public opinion for the war and to send billions of dollars there that would then be laundered back to congress people themselves. Talk about screwing the American people for their own greed. Our tax money sent to the pockets of the people who are suppose to represent us through their clandestine Twitter bot program using Ukraine as the prop. Sick pedo satanists at best.
As for me, I’m just wondering when advertisers, as well as members of the participating general public, will finally begin to be skeptical about what these “social media” companies have been telling them, all these years.
The companies tell you that “you have X thousand or Y million ‘followers’ hanging off your every word.” (And you simply ‘believe that.’ Why?) They also tell advertisers that their ads received so many “impressions,” and invoice(!) them accordingly. But they simply expect you to “take them at their word,” without possessing any independent means of verification whatsoever. The opportunity for fraud is very obvious … if you are skeptical enough to see it.
And, if fraud can be performed without detection, then you can be 100% certain that it will occur – it’s just human nature.
Right now, I would not want to be Facebook, or Instagram, or TikTok, or anyone else in this market space.

This is a GREAT piece that sums up our predicament today.
FTX was an exchange for crypto currency. Without opening a can of worms the main benefit of crypto was decentralization, but by nature exchanges centralize the trading and thus pricing of the exchange traded crypto.
They also allow for cashing in one’s crypto in easy fashion. What if the $1 Billion in political contributions made by FTX had been done in the underlying crypto instead of Fiat proceeds from the sale of crypto.
Well the overlying blockchain would show us exactly where all that money went.
Same thing with your tax dollar distributed without your representation to Ukraine.
