With an effective counterinsurgency operation currently ongoing by RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel and her friend & contractor Harmeet Dhillon, former Congresman Lee Zeldin announces he will not be running for RNC Chair in January 2023.
Within a Twitter announcement, Mr Zeldin writes, “RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel should not run for a 4th term. I won’t be running for RNC Chair at this time with McDaniel’s reelection pre-baked by design, but that doesn’t mean she should even be running again. It’s time the GOP elects new leadership! It’s time for fresh blood!”
Mr Zeldin also provided a full statement:
Lee Zeldin’s exit from consideration leaves three remaining candidates for the position. Current RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel, current RNC lawyer Harmeet Dhillon and MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell.
Ronna McDaniel has previously claimed the support of more than 100 of the 163 national RNC committee members, far more than would be needed for another two-year term. However, just in case Ronna is not successful, Mrs. Harmeet Dhillon has positioned herself to run as a block to any outside RNC entry as would be represented by Mike Lindell.
In the background, four days before she officially announced her entry into the RNC race, on December 1st Mrs. Dhillon registered “DhillonForRNC.com” as a proactive measure to support her upcoming announcement.
The decision to set up the online infrastructure followed Dhillon’s previous announcement that she would be teaming up with Mississippi Republican National Committee person, Henry Barbour.
With the Georgia senate contest now in the rear view, Mrs. Dhillon, Mrs McDaniel and the major donors to the RNC can get down to the business of forward-looking operations; the focus that really matters for the financial stakes at the RNC.
The voting for the RNC chairmanship will take place during the winter meeting of the RNC in late January 2023. In addition to selecting the chair, the RNC members will be voting on new party rules, regulations, processes and procedures for the upcoming 2024 presidential race.

According to a variety of definitions I pull off a search, a Political party is an organisation of people that work together, endorse candidates and work to get them elected, in order to enact a set of SHARED Public Policy initiatives.
ALL the definitions included this concept.
Ergo, if you have a Political party in which the Leadership does NOT share the “platform” of public policy initiatives of the base, you no longer HAVE a Political party, its right there IN the Definitions.
Ergo the RNC is NOT, by definition, a Political Party.

We HAVE the basis for an “organisation” with co-ordination.
What we DON’T have, is an INFRASTRUCTURE, as described above, nor a HIERARCHY, at the State level, again as described above.
It takes a lot of time, energy, $ and SUSTAINED effort, to build such an Infrastructure, and populate it with a Hierarchy of like minded individuals.
While its not EASY (no one SAID fighting for your life and liberty would be EASY) it IS possible to wrest control of a State party, away from the GOPe types running it.

That Nov 29 Dhillon tweet, “focusing on GA right now”, is pretty interesting. Trump backed off but he’s getting the blame for Walker’s loss. And yet Dhillon, others from the RNC, Kemp, DeSantis and others all participated in (allegedly) helping Walker win the runoff, and they failed … yet they get none of the blame?

In GA the law allows 5 days of early voting. The Dem counties had early voting on Saturday 12/3, most GOP counties didn’t choose to have early voting on Saturday. Inquiring minds want to know why the GOP RINOs didn’t want Saturday 12/3 early voting… rhetorical question because the fix was in for Warnock.

When you receive a small mail solicitation, do NOT send anything back in the overpaid envelope. Those go to a bank or processing center and are tossed if there’s no money in them.
Instead, write out exactly what you think of them on the portion of the solicitation form with your address (really, it doesn’t take much room to write “Eff you! MAGA Baby! WOLVERINES!!!”) and mail it back to the headquarters address listed as the return address on the envelope or their solicitation letter. It will cost you an envelope and a stamp but it’s worth it and it actually gets to them. Bonus is it also stops the solicitations.
I have done everything you mentioned, including writing “I am no longer a Republican” (true, I re-registered as “unaffiliated” in CA), plus I have called the DNC and left the message….over and over, yet they still send me solicitations and refer to me as if I am a Republican.

I have the form already and have struggled to decide because in my state I will not be able to vote in the primary. But I refuse to vote for the RINOs who always get elected, so it seems it really doesn’t matter much.
I sailed that ship back in ’92 with Perot and his Reform Party. I’m a libertarian at heart but will not register or vote with them because, Catch-22, in our current system, its the same as voting for the Democrat on the ticket.

In California there is actually an Independent Party. Gets confused by some who use the term (erroneously) generically. No Party Preference is the CA designation for one who is not registered to any political party.

South Carolina currently doesn’t register by party and you can vote in any primary just by requesting the ballot for that party. The politicians are trying to change that to protect their party integrity. Integrity? As if!!!

Again, the reason why the big money is showing up for DeSantis is because Trump’s indictment, trial, and conviction in a DC kangaroo court is already baked into the equation.

I and many other New Yorkers worked our butts off for Lee Zeldin and his team to try to get him elected.
There are not many politicians who I will invest my time and money in, but Lee is one of them and I’m glad he’s not going to run for RNC chair. We still need him out in the field to do battle once again. Lee supports President Trump and has never tried to hide it as so many others did.
The back story of why Lee Zeldin lost is the story of the feckless Republican party- both the RNC and NY GOP which is especially disgusting.

In the US, a presidential candidate must a member of a registered, incorporated Party. Every state has different rules. It’s a HUGE, VERY EXPENSIVE TASK… And that’s why an earlier poster talked about the RNC infrastructure that’s ALREADY THERE.

What is most disturbing to me is how a few of the most trusted and respected Republicans of the present are now being exposed or accused of not being so trusting after all. (i.e. Harmeet) These accusations include some reasonable evidence and the truth must be revealed to purge the corruption and self enriching collusion of the discredited RNC.
Fox News’ Democrat employees were having fun with last night’s results. Only a blithering idiot or a Democrat sleaze would leave a large Chyron of Warnock’s victory results on appx 1/8 of the TV screen during a “comedy” show like Gutfeld. I couldn’t watch it but I FF through it to see if the results were taken down. They never were.
I live in Georgia and got more people knocking on my door for Warnock than I got in the last decade in total. My wife said there were more than 12.

Well, I suppose one way to look at this, is that Zeldin is refusing to be a “splitter” Candidate, dividing the MAGA Vote.
In fact, we have Harmeet as a “splitter” to divide the GOPe vote, with Ronna, while big Mike sits as the loan MAGA Candidate.
And Zeldins letter was not only a total rebuke of Ronna, but of the RNC leadership as a whole.
Still, this feels kind of like focusing all of our attention on Congress and POTUS, at the expence of State Legislatures and Govs, and County elected positions.
The majority of Public Policy power resides at the State and local level.
Political parties follow a similar roadmap, and most POLITICAL Power, to effect Public policy, actually resides wit STATE parties.
Just as it was State Governors, NOT the Federal Govt., that imposed the most draconian mandates, it is local, County and State parties, that run elections, and that endorse the candidates that run elections,…you know those who “count the votes”.
RNC can pump $30 million into Az, to try to beat KL in the primary, but its the State party that did not put up a “splitter” candidate against KL, which madevit possible for her to run 1 on 1 against Robson, and win.
STATE Republican parties, are where the REAL Battle is, that WE the People can get involved in, where our inherent strength in #’s and energy, if paired with PERSISTENCE, will inevitably pay off.

In Georgia we just saw well over 100,000 Republican voters stay home who had previously voted for Walker in November. You will get that in spades if Trump remains as a Republican given where this party is heading.
It takes a lot of time and money (think a billion $$ or more) to set up another party, in every state. We don’t have time or money to do it before 2024.
Trump can’t just “decide to run as an America 1st candidate”. Presidential elections are far different from any other, because of the Electoral College.
For 2024, it will have to be the GOP or nothing.
Wrong. Ross Perot announced in February 1992 that he would be a candidate if his supporters could get his name on the ballot of all 50 states, which they then proceeded to do and by September had finished the process in all 50 states. That all happened within 9 months of the election.
So we have just under 2 years to get this done. It’s not the GOP or nothing. The base for Trump is much greater than the base was for Perot.
I understand the impulse to say “Let’s start a new conservative party”
But, I’m not ready to kiss away Trump 2024.
As irritating as it is, we need this coming battle with the RINOs.
We can take this party back for one more try.
Watch the rules changes coming out of the January meeting. Look for language barring an individual under indictment or convicted of a felony from running in the primaries. The only possible explanation for the tens of millions suddenly flowing to DeSantis is that Trump’s indictment has already been planned out.

It bears repeating. Today the Republicans are as out of touch with their base as the Whigs were in the 1850’s. The Republicans rose up to put an end to the Whigs, and MAGA must now put an end to the Republicans. A bird cannot fly without two wings, so if we eliminate the Republican wing, the Uniparty will fall to earth. Do not support Republican candidates for state or federal office with your money or your time. Stay politically involved, but only at the local and county level, where you have a good chance of finding out what potential candidates really stand for. The Republican party is already spent as a national force, and can be utterly destroyed at the federal level in two election cycles. Think of this as physician assisted suicide.

There’s not enough time or money for 2024. Candidates will start declaring in June 2023. It takes time (at least a year), and probably a billion to create a 50-state party. I was around in the Perot days, knew the people who did it.
That’s not to say that we can’t start creating county & state “clubs”, and creating strong local orgs that could become state chapters of MAGA upon the creation of a national party. Maybe for 2028.

To change ANY of this, every precinct delegate position must be filled, then you elect MAGA candidates to the STATE Conventions, then at the State Conventions you elect MAGA delegates to the offices including State Committeeman and woman .
It starts locally and you go up from there.
I know I was 15th District Chair in 80’s.
Then the George H Bush team sued us and got to sit their delegates at the National RNC. Oh we won the lawsuit as the rightful delegates AFTER the fact. Big deal.
Not hard to do but takes a lot of recruiting to make sure every position is filled starting at the Precinct Delegate level.

If every Precinct chair was filled by a solid Trump supporting patriot, things would change fast. With just a few dozen Tea Party chairs, I have seen it happen at the county platform level, going into a good shot a some changes at the state convention.

A local politician I knew said he would always meet with a Precinct Chair because they can turn out 1000 votes.
More importantly Precinct Chairs drive the State party platforms and delegates. Having been through county and state GOP convention process, I can tell everyone here without a doubt, the GOP gets pretty much anything they want because there is no opposition from real voter representatives at the Precinct and District levels.
So we get this garbage – a few people in a beachside luxury resort define the Party platform and convention rules.
Nearly everyone reading here has probably a 90%+ shot at becoming Precinct chair. Just call your County GOP, see if your Precinct has a chair, how you can run for that chair, then go find a few neighbors to vote for you.
