Unbelievable and infuriating at the same time. The CDC voted unanimously today (15-0) to include the emergency use authorized mRNA vaccine as part of the childhood immunization schedule, effectively forcing most school aged children to undergo a COVID shot as part of the state requirement to attend school.
(Via Politico) The CDC’s independent vaccine advisers voted 15-0 Thursday to add most Covid-19 vaccines offered in the U.S. to the childhood, adolescent and adult immunization schedules.
The immunization schedules, which are updated every fall before going into effect the following year, consolidate all of the CDC’s vaccine recommendations in one document for states that use them as guidance for school entry requirements and busy physicians. The additions formalize recommendations the CDC has already made on Covid vaccination in individuals ages 6 months and older for shots that the FDA has approved or has authorized for emergency use.
Covid vaccines’ inclusion on the schedules don’t constitute mandates, particularly for schoolchildren, which are the purview of states, localities or jurisdictions, depending on local laws. Still, the committee’s vote sparked controversy and debate on social media about what the additions mean for vaccine requirements after Fox News’ Tucker Carlson asserted Tuesday that the CDC would trigger mandates for students.
“This doesn’t represent new recommendations. This represents sort of a summary of existing recommendations,” said advisory panel member Matthew Daley, a senior investigator at the Institute for Health Research at Kaiser Permanente Colorado. “But I will acknowledge … there is symbolism in adding Covid-19 to the childhood immunization schedule, and that symbolism is that we view this as routine and that we view this as Covid is here to stay.”
The FDA has approved two messenger-RNA vaccines targeting Covid: The Pfizer-BioNTech primary series vaccine for people 12 and older and the Moderna primary series for adults 18 and older. They’re each authorized for emergency use for children as young as 6 months, and all booster doses — including new formulations designed to target the original coronavirus strain and two Omicron subvariants — are authorized for emergency use. From March 1 to April 30, 2020, Donald J Trump made 11 tweets about therapies and mentioned these therapies 65 times in White House briefings, especially touting hydroxychloroquine. These tweets had an impression reach of 300% above Donald J Trump’s average. Following these tweets, at least 2% of airtime on conservative networks for treatment modalities like azithromycin and continuous mentions of such treatments were observed on stations like Fox. Even Google searches and purchases increased following his first press conference on March 19, 2020, and increased again following his tweets on March 21, 2020. The same is true for medications on Amazon, with purchases for medicine substitutes, such as hydroxychloroquine, increasing by 200%.
Initially, he pursued a different path and was shot down by every advisor. There was a study that came out that said hydroxychloroquine actually helped people survive, next thing you know, Fauci was standing right next to him, blows him up, and the left wing applauds. Birx did the same. Ron Johnson was part of a failed effort to push the FDA to reauthorize hydroxy as a covid treatment. Trump claimed that hydroxy and ivermectin were possible treatments for Covid-19 continually and never mandated the shot.

New York State removed the religious exemption/waiver as an option for school children in 2019. This is now enforced in all public, private and religious schools. I wish Lee Zelden who is running against Kathy Hochul would come out and say if he is elected, he would restore the religious exemption for NY.

Many people can afford alternatives. Your HS students can be home alone and can do online classes, co-ops, or do their classes with you in your off hours.
MS can be home alone and do their classes in your off hours – you aren’t required to do class at the same time as you local public school.
There are homeschool co-ops for elementary where you share the teaching with other families or combine money to pay for a teacher.
You can also work alternate schedules with your spouse or one of you can work two jobs while the other teaches.
As for private, use the college money if you’ve been saving for that. Or apply to private schools with financial aid. There’s also working a second job for tuition money and if you have HS students ave them work and contribute as well.
People can also downsize/scale their lives. How many people do you know who paid a lot more for a house because of its school district? If you are homeschooling or private the school district doesn’t matter. There’s also cutting vacations, new cars, big houses, restaurants, travel sports, streaming, etc.

Thanks to the posters who provided links. I looked at the videos and information with what I think was an open mind. Unfortunately, in my case, I found nothing that made me think much of the credibility of the claims. Nearly everything I saw was rather vague and/or impossible to verify. There were images displayed by Dr. Yanowitz that seemed to insinuate that they were “nano structures” with clearly unnatural straight lines and 90 degree corners. However the images looked to be the output of image processing software that produces a signal intended to aid in the detection of edges in a noisy/distorted subject image. Maybe not coincidentally Dr. Yanowitz appears to have been the co-author of a paper a few decades ago about image processing edge-detection strategies. Also, especially in the case of the video from Dr. Ricardo Delgado, there was a rapid-fire stream of very technical sounding terms that were actually nonsense and full of terms that made no sense in the context they were used. Things like “rectenna” which is a real thing but it does not operate in the way Dr. Delgado implies. Also the use of the term 5G as if it is some kind of new radiation. 5G (5th Generation) is simply shorthand for a suite of communications theory, error correction techniques, applied information theory and modulation techniques that enable more efficient usage of spectrum to achieve relatively high data rates.
I’m sorry and mean no disrespect to anyone but what I’ve seen so far looks like it has little merit, at least based on what I saw and heard.

I taught in public schools for 25 years. I saw children change throughout those years. No autism, ADHD, or peanut allergies in my first 10 years of teaching, but in the last 15 years I had a lot of ADHD, autism, peanut allergies and other strange aliments that I wonder if the increase in vaccines may have caused. My son is a coach in a middle school and every kid he comes into contact with has one issue or another. He said kids this year are just weird. No discipline at school or at home. He teaches in a poor area where parents are unable to homeschool. I pray for him, all teachers, students and their families everyday. It is a battle out there.
I’ve read that peanut allergy can be very easily avoided by the simple act of giving peanut butter to children very early.
Treating it as a poison for children, and avoiding it, is what gave so many the allergy in the first place.
Common sense dictates that we all need to develop as much immunity to as many things as possible as early as possible to grow up healthy.
Strangely, many people whose children have peanut allergies found out when they gave it to their children quite early.
Peanut allergies were rare than widespread and have become less common in children again. What changed? They started using peanut proteins in vaccines around the time the allergies exploded. Then they stopped putting it in vaccines and the number of children with new peanut allergies started to decrease bigtime.
At one time something like 1 in 9 Australian children had peanut allergies – that is not normal.

I blame my kid’s food allergies on vaccines. Of interest also is the massive increase in asthma in kids living in rural and suburban areas not just cities where they blame roaches and air pollution.

I have a fairly radical view on this – what is the actual benefit of having a child see a pediatrician every year? What is wrong with trusting a child’s God-given immunity system and Grace to keep them safe and healthy, especially given what we now know about what the pediatricians give to your child in the way of ineffective or worse vaccines. As to the “monitoring” aspects of the annual visit, what can a pediatrician do that you can’t do yourself?
As someone whose parents both died of a combination of overly zealous diagnosis of non-life threatening conditions, excessive treatment, and negligence by the medical providers, I have taken the same approach as an adult, and it has worked out very well for me. There are home devices and test kits to monitor your vital signs (BP, sugar, heartbeat etc), and if it ain’t broke, don’t mess with it. Don’t get me started on the fallacies of cholesterol, and the negative effects of the carbohydrate-based food pyramid that came out in the 70s.

There is absolutely zero reason for anyone under the age of 60 to even consider the various COVID vaccines. Zero. The medical data is more or less unequivocal.

I am a senior citizen and I feel no one should take the Covid-19 “vaccines” that aren’t vaccines. My husband and I had Covid and were very sick for 5 days and then had extreme fatigue for a while after that. We got over it and remain unvaxxed. I feel that the vaccines are not needed for anyone. Hardly any vaccines are necessary. Why in the world do we give so many shots to our children? They are harmful. What is in them? When I was young, no one had ADD, autism, peanut allergies, childhood cancer, autoimmune disorders,etc. What happened? Unnecessary vaccines that are harmful. The research is out there.
There are so many shots given to children because any adverse effects make them a forever customer of the sick care system in this country. Think about how many children have autoimmune diseases because of the jabs they were given as children. How can I say that? And not only that they hide behind safe and effective but never produce the studies or eventell parents what might happen if their child takes the jabs. Doctors will not write medical exemptions for COVID jabs because they will lose their license. I personally know people with serious health issues whose doctors admitted to them the jabs were dangerous for them but said they can’t write them a letter for their jobs.
Most doctors are afraid to deal with any of this at this point.
Several private schools do not plan to require the Covid vaccine. The is frustrating, infuriating, and crazy.
The CDC has lost any lingering credibility they once had. Their “guidance” on masks for children was the last straw for me, all those little children having to breathe into a mask for hours every day.

Real vaccines stop the spread of illnesses. They are not junk. One kid coming to school with chickenpox or worse can wipe out his or her entire class or worse.
But the COVID jab isn’t a vaccine and doesn’t cause immunity in the people receiving it, therefore it doesn’t stop the spread. IMO it’s pointless to mandate that one.

Here is the reason why the CDC is needing to make the Covid shot a part of the childhood schedule of vaccines. It protects them from liability from all of the deaths and adverse reactions that everyone is suffering from all of the Covid vaccines. Right now, the EUA (Emergency Use Authorization) covers them from being sued, but eventually the government will need to lift the EUA. Once they do that, the lawsuits will flood the courts. Currently, the pharmaceutical companies are protected from lawsuits over injuries from any of the vaccines that are a part of the childhood schedule due to the 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act. Because of that Bill that passed in 1986, all of the vaccines that are listed under the Childhood Schedule are protected from lawsuits for any injuries caused. Even if the injury is caused in an adult. Once they move the Covid vaccine to the required childhood schedule, the pharmaceutical companies are protected and then they can lift the national emergency for Covid and the EUA for the Covid vaccines goes away with it. I am 75 years old and the only shot I had to take was the Polio shot and it really was a vaccine. Parents and children were thrilled when a vaccine was developed to take out Polio. Polio was a crippler and killer. A child could be fine one day and dead the next from Polio. Parents were terrified, I know mine were, and kept me inside a lot during the Summer because that is when Polio was most active.
I managed to survive Chicken Pox, both types of Measles, Mumps, Whooping Cough and other child hood ailments. With all the shots children currently get I believe we really have compromised their immune systems. I remember I had to take a small pox vaccine, a Tetanus-Diphtheria-pertussis vaccine, and when it came out, I ate a sugar cube with pink polio drops on it. A kindergarten play-friend developed polio and my dad took me to the hospital to wave through a glass window at her while an iron lung whoofed and bumped to keep her breathing. She died about a week later, so I was glad to get the polio prevention.

Believe it or not, it is not about pushing the drug for money this time. It is to protect them from lawsuits once the Emergency Use Authorization is lifted. If the Covid vaccine is added to the Childhood Vaccine Schedule, no one can sue for injuries and deaths, not even adults. That is because of the 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act. They will be free from lawsuits and can lift the national emergency for Covid. Remember Joe telling 60 minutes that we were no longer under a national emergency for Covid any longer and all of government freaked out?
