Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Good morning Bet and Casco, have a blessed Sonday! 🙏🏻✝️🙏🏻
Good morning, G!! And to you as well…are you on “greeting” duty today? Blessings to you, my brother🙏💕
No duty today. Steaks already cooked. One has been eaten, the second one is waiting for later. With mushrooms, blue cheese, Anaheim and jalapeno peppers from the garden, and some Brussels sprouts. Tie for a nap.
BTW, left you a message last night about the axis.
Insert a heart emoji here. 🙂 My laptop emojis decided to go rogue.
I’ll look… Bet it was delish!😘
You and yours too amigo! 🙂

Morning jay ! Great selections 😁!

I hope everyone has a wonderful and blessed Sunday, Treeper friends. This week has been especially hard. So much absolutely must be done that I’ve been left feeling overwhelmed, something I can’t afford to feel—certainly not now. This is when I know I can turn to Our Lord for help. He’s been in my life for as long as I can remember. He’s forgiven me when I’ve sinned and disappointed Him, helped me when I didn’t think I could go on. For me Jesus has always been on my Main Line. He can be on your Main Line also. All you have to do is ask. Honest. Be well, Treeper friends. I hope this music brings you the kind of solace that I need tonight.
Blessings upon your house Garrison 🙂
I sure need ’em about now, Jay. Thanks. 🙂
Garrison, please allow me to regift back to you, a share of a happy memory of yours added to my plea to our lord at that particular moment, to please carry me through my rough point. It works indeed. ❤️

Hi, Cat. Thank you, love. 🙂
1 Peter 5:7
🙂
May His peace fill you as He lifts you up in His loving Hands and takes your burdens from you. 🙏
🙂
I am dealing with some issues of my own right now & your words brought me some much needed solace. May God’s continued peace & blessings be upon you ❤️
From one mom to another…🙏🙏🙏
Peace, blessings, . . . and solace upon you too, friend. 🙂
If I could see right now, I’d join you. My next to eldest has passed to be with the Lord. Nobody will say ‘when’ or ‘how’ it happened, but he is gone. Guess Mothers don’t count any more.
Oh yes they do,and right now you count the most.I’m so sorry for the passing of your son O.L.,and pray that you can find some comfort in knowing that he is now in the presence of our Father.
Once a mother, always a mother, old lady. I am so so sorry. My mother’s heart breaks for yours. Casco is right…there is no question he will be at peace with his Saviour. I know words hold no comfort for such a loss. But while he is gone from your sight for the moment, hold fast in the knowledge you will see him once again.🙏 Bet
As Ma said when her first son (her second eldest) passed in July,
“God gave him to me and now He wants him back.”
You most certainly count.
~It’s between you and the Lord.
✝Peace be with you, old lady.
Were there something we could all do to help ease your troubles. You have two things working for you…the assurance that Christ is standing by your side…no greater Friend…and us here, who all add our most heartfelt prayers that taking one step at a time regardless of the next ones after will move you to that place where peace will be. This, too, shall pass.
And you have this music, the latter two pieces so serene, in which there is so much beauty. We are with you in the spirit of great love and friendship. Hold tightly on to Him and to us. His grace is fresh every single morning. Praying with you, my friend.🙏
Bet, joining you in your prayers for Garrison. 🙏🏻❤️
Thank you, Bet. My “it” right now is incipient clinical depression, something I’m very familiar with alas. Prayer helps make it go away. 🙂
I am sorrier than you can imagine, my friend. Your plate has been overloaded for so long. I hope with all my heart that prayer is the medicine that will lift it. Winston Churchill called his his Black Dog, which was with him all his life. I’ve known quite a few who have had to contend with it, so I understand what a cloud it is. I hope you can feel all the incoming prayers for you. We’re “dosing” you up. You are not and will never be alone in this battle.😘
If there’s any upside to incipient depression episodes, it is the profound feeling of relief when it goes away. 🙂
Yes sir…I understand that absolutely. I just hope those periods are not long ones. As someone who all her life has dealt with periods of anxiety, I know that feeling of relief when such pass. And the thing is I think, it’s just something over which one cannot exert control. If it were possible, I know you’d do it in a heartbeat. You rest in my heart, Garrison, and all my prayers include you, for that peace which passeth all understanding. 🙏😘
Thanks, Bet. 🙂
Praying and thinking good thoughts for you amigo. 🙂
🙂
Prayer is hope – to even call out to dear God in that moment of exhaustion, hurting for someone else and asking for their healing, whatever it may be – that tiny little spark of even ASKING and/or PRAISING the Lord – so powerful because that is hope – and hope is the counteracting agent for depression (IMHO). Saying “Hallelujah” and “Thank You, Jesus” no matter what is happening. Then overwhelming gratitude when blessings flow like a waterfall.
I would say, He made us for hope.
Agreed. 🙂
…and hope is the counteracting agent for depression” Prayer is hope. Indeed, and so much more – if people could only understand the tremendous spiritual power generated by a prayer of positive thinking/hope. When we fall into the negative – and it’s a constant war – we are in a sense allowing the increase of negative/dark force/energy – whether to ourselves or projected to our surroundings – almost like negative/dark/evil feeding on itself and increasing in power. Our honest (and it’s hard sometimes I know) earnest attempts to remain positive, calling for help and guidence/relief from the Creator is a huge, and I would venture IS our purpose in finally defeating the darkness.
Good morning Garrison! Praying for you this morning. 🙏🏻
Mornin’ Gramps. Doing a bit better this morning. Thanks. 🙂
Gosh Garrison…., your words always manage to lift me; even as my “ heart” beckons prayers for joy to fill all the minutes throughout each of your days and nights.
…. and I, again, thank you for the music.
Have a blessed Sunday, you.
✝️❤️💖
Thank you for your kind words, Patience. Be well, friend. 🙂
As many of us await word and updates from Sundance …
you come to mind often when I am not here,
-and I ask God to

to help you …and lift you.
My prayers be with you for comfort and strength at this time to help you thru these difficult days. I know we are all praying for you here at the Treehouse Church. Wish we could be there to help you or just to give you a hug to help you get thru these tough days.
We are all friends here . . . 🙂
Been out and about, for one thing, taking fall photos yesterday, including this one:
Posted it on Gab, and was happily surprised to receive a like from of all people, the founder of Gab’s father, Bob Torba! (His son is Andrew Torba.) Gab’s a pretty cool place.
And that said, I like to hang out here at the Treehouse to relax, especially on the weekends … Wishing all here a Happy and Relaxing Fall Sunday!
Beautiful.
Thanks, glad you like it! 🙂
So beautiful, phoenix. It makes me take a deep breath. Thank you for sharing it.
As you mention Gab, I’ll pass this along for those who use or used the reprehensible Paypal…
Apparently Gab now has an alternative pay system which I know they’ve been working on for a long time. I believe it’s up and running. They anticipated the need for an honest one and met the challenge. It would be worth investigating for those interested.
Gab pay is up & running.

Thank you for that, AA!

And Gab pay is definitely worth looking into, thanks for mentioning it. 🙂

Switched to my iPad so I can use the emojis. The app on my Linux laptop went rogue and instead of copying emojis just shows the code. There are a couple of other apps available but both are potentially unsafe, they are unrestricted and can look at all of your personal files.
This one will do very nicely. So unexpected and just beautiful. I bet you two really didn’t justice. Love it!💕
There’s a guitar shop in Barcelona that specializes in selling flamenco guitars. Although they are often made by the same luthier, flamenco guitars have a sharper, brighter sound that classical guitars. You can easily here the differences in these videos. One of the deep mysteries of flamenco culture is the presence of duende in the music. Wikipedia describes duende as a “. . . Spanish term for a heightened state of emotion, expression and authenticity, often connected with flamenco.” We will definitely hear the spirit of duende in these performances.
One more . . .
Duende…once felt, always remembered. A very deep and pleasurable feeling. Nice, Garrison.
Reading – Proofs of the Real Existence and Dangerous Tendency of Illuminism (1802) – available to read or download for free at the Internet Archive.
Does any of this sound contemporary?
“Emancipation from all Legal Restraint” has a “Do As Thou Wilt is the Whole of the Law” ring to it…
Turing Reason/Science into a deity rings bells like the hunchback of Notre Dame…
Assuming there is no Reason in a Religion is also so common place today, it is deemed the mark of an Educated Reasonable Person….
And the side of the political spectrum today who preaches “Science” as a religion is also the one preaching the Constitution is an outdated, broken relic of white old dead men/tyrants + frequently feel no need to adhere to the laws of the land if they desire to express their own personal beliefs via calls to action in the streets (about every other year when a POTUS or Mid-Term Election comes up)…
And who but the Illuminated of today would so fervently advocate for the raising up to a position of Equality pedophilia….?

How does sacrificing your private interests (Individualism) for the common good mesh with being free of all legal restraint…?
I hate how old-timey S often was made to look like F. But there are some in your quotes that are new to me. what word is lodcres? d looks like cl in discover? j for is? Chriil for Christ?
Part of it is from the rendering software connected to the Internet Archive. When you download a text, you pick the format you want – I chose pdf so I can highlight text + because the rendering for the Kindle app (.mobi) often scrambles text too much in rendering.
Most of it is like the f for s. It makes me wonder what pronunciation was like back then in 1802. Would we have a hard time understanding someone if we went back in time.
I think lodcres is lodges. as in Masonic Lodges. The context of the quote is paragraphs about a congress of leaders in various lodges in Germany to discuss alterations in the system of Free Masonry they were using – specifically making changes after being influence by leaders from lodges in France.
09 October, it has been a busy last few weeks but during this brief break I will repost this one.

Concerning running across I-70 in Maryland. Back when I was running the board they had a run to the Allison Transmission facility in White Marsh come available. White Marsh is just north of Baltimore on off I-95. No driver with seniority over me wanted it. So I took it as a board runner. I did that run for about 14 weeks. Anderson, IN to White Marsh, MD and back.
Three times a week. Out Sunday, back Monday, out Tuesday, back Wednesday, out Thursday, back Friday. Added up to something over 3,800 miles a week. Great money! Then as the Holidays came up a lot of dedicated routes hauling auto parts started shutting down until a week or two after New Years.
The same drivers that had refused the route before now wanted it and started whining about a driver with less seniority than they had doing it. The company eventually had to take it away from me.
I have also gone that way many other times while working for another company hauling everything from scrap metal to cans of beans and doing Nestle’s loads for this company I now work for bound for areas around DC. And delivered new Coke cans to the Coke plant in Baltimore once also.
Early on in this salary Job I had to do a truck recovery at Fredericksburg. Driver had broken down on the road and gotten a Penski rental to complete his run and get back home while his truck was being repaired at a place in Fredericksburg. The rental was a Freightliner with a 10 spd manual transmission. At that time I had only driven Volvoes and Internationals and never driven a Freightliner. I hooked to the Nestle’s load in a Refer delivered to a place in Carlisle, PA. After delivering I drove down to the place in Fredericksburg where the repaired truck was sitting. It was in a lot not located in the same place as the garage that fixed it.
There I dropped the empty refer trailer and then bobtailed to the Penski rental place and turned in the rental truck. I then caught a taxi back to the lot where the repaired truck and the trailer I had dropped sat. That Volvo had set there so long the brake shoes on the drives were stuck to the drums.
It was not my first rodeo and I had brought my tool box with me. The fix is to release the truck brakes and then beat on the drums with a 3 lb. hammer and eventually the shoes will separate from the drum. The problem was that lot had a pretty good incline. I looked around but couldn’t find anything the chock the tires with. Luckily a guy came by and asked if he could help and he knew about big trucks. He got in the cab and released the brakes as I went around beating on the each of the 4 brake drums and they finally released.
So I hooked to the trailer and went back up the Carlise to pick up a broker load that brought me back to Anderson, IN.
I admire that!
Freightliners are beautiful (my Mom and Dad had an OEM business and made and sold air horns to Freightliner).
Truckers are very special people!
Truth!!!
Rah – that was one heck of a run three times per week, but seems pretty straightforward compared to what you’ve described in your more recent adventures.
That Allison facility in White Marsh was labeled as a GMC Propulsion facility but was closed 3 years ago this month.

Building on the Atonement
…present…your members as instruments of righteousness to God. —Romans 6:13
I cannot save and sanctify myself; I cannot make atonement for sin; I cannot redeem the world; I cannot right what is wrong, purify what is impure, or make holy what is unholy. That is all the sovereign work of God. Do I have faith in what Jesus Christ has done? He has made the perfect atonement for sin. Am I in the habit of constantly realizing it? The greatest need we have is not to do things, but to believe things. The redemption of Christ is not an experience, it is the great act of God which He has performed through Christ, and I have to build my faith on it. If I construct my faith on my own experience, I produce the most unscriptural kind of life— an isolated life, with my eyes focused solely on my own holiness. Beware of that human holiness that is not based on the atonement of the Lord. It has no value for anything except a life of isolation— it is useless to God and a nuisance to man. Measure every kind of experience you have by our Lord Himself. We cannot do anything pleasing to God unless we deliberately build on the foundation of the atonement by the Cross of Christ.
The atonement of Jesus must be exhibited in practical, unassuming ways in my life. Every time I obey, the absolute deity of God is on my side, so that the grace of God and my natural obedience are in perfect agreement. Obedience means that I have completely placed my trust in the atonement, and my obedience is immediately met by the delight of the supernatural grace of God.
Beware of the human holiness that denies the reality of the natural life— it is a fraud. Continually bring yourself to the trial or test of the atonement and ask, “Where is the discernment of the atonement in this, and in that?”
WISDOM FROM OSWALD CHAMBERS
Am I becoming more and more in love with God as a holy God, or with the conception of an amiable Being who says, “Oh well, sin doesn’t matter much”?

Good morning, Cat. I love this one.🙏

Thank you for the tip about Apple Cider Vinegar and water for leg cramps. I’ll try it. They have had me up twice this night.
If that doesn’t work, try drinking tonic water before you go to bed. It has worked wonders for my mom!
That sounds good, too! I guess it would be the quinine? Good to have tonic water on hand!
My husband uses tonic water all the time. He puts some in his juice or soda so it doesn’t taste so bad. I can always tell when he has not had any for a while, his legs start cramping and twitching at nite. It is the quinine that makes it work.
My hubby has suffered severe leg cramping, for years. Tonic, bananas, gatorade, apple cider vinegar and some concentrated version of it from the local health food store all failed to produce relief. About 5 years ago he started using Theraworx foam. It is the only thing that works for him. If he foams his legs before bed, almost 100% prevention. If he forgets and wakes with a cramp, foam brings relief in about 1-2 minutes. He swears by it. My grandma used to say “sleep is dear”. Hope you find relief.
Yes the stuff works. Until it does not. I had cramps that were so severe that they would cause massive bruises. The foam might or might not end it, or they would ease and then return. The “cure” for me is yellow mustard. Everyone is different. Does not prevent but if taken while cramping in ends in a minute or so. One thing about the Theraworx. A foamy massage is therapeutic in itself.
Agree, everyone is different. Glad you found your relief!
Leg cramps are terrible torture. I have had them bad enough that they create bruises that last for days. I have tried everything. Tonic water, mineral supplements, vinegar, the Hylands pills, Theraworx but nothing seemed to work every time. The Hylands and Theraworx offer some relief. Then someone suggested yellow mustard right out of the bottle with a spoon. For me, I get relief within a minute or two. Every time. I carry mustard packets when I travel. It does not seem to work as a preventive, only as a relief. Someone asked me the dose and I always say about 3 spoonfuls, after that I can’t gag anymore down.
I’m sure the ones I had would have been much worse and lasted longer if I had not rubbed my lower legs and feet down with Blue Goo. BioFreeze also works, but it more expensive and doesn’t seem to be anymore effective than Blue Goo.
good to know!
Also, rah, if you are not taking Magnesium every single day, do so. I have been doing much reading about how, as we age, we need it more and more, and more of it as well.
I was experiencing leg cramps and got right on it. Now they are nonexistent.
We take Magnesium Bisglycinate which was recommended by Dr Malone. Amazon.
My doctor remarked that magnesium oxide is not a good form to take. The body doesn’t absorb much magnesium in the oxide form. Of course, it’s the cheapest. It’s also the main ingredient in Phillips Milk of Magnesia.
He said almost any other form, citrate, or bisglycinate is far better because of bioavailability.
Yes…this is what Dr Malone said… and for the reason you said. He recommended a regimen of specific supplements to negate the effects of the bioweapon spike protein as he was initially vaxxxxed. And this was one, along with NAC and another I can’t recall.
But no matter what, he said magnesium bisglycinate should be a “must take” especially for older people.
Magnesium Oxide is a strong ionic bond, which has 2% absorption.
Covalent bonds that are a looser bond absorb better.
Bioinnovations has a magnesium gel that I use to rub over muscle cramps. I’m sure there’s other companies that make Mg gel.
If you are low in Mg+ , there’s a slight burning sensation as the magnesium is quickly absorbed through the skin.
There’s also epsom salt, that you can put in your bath water and soak in it.
Medicines can deplete Mg+, along with stress or taking extra Calcium especially with vitamin D, etc.
very interesting and helpful!
you are welcome, rah –
I hope you have a chance to buy some today or maybe you have it in the pantry and will make it up for tonight –
I don’t know how or why it works but it can’t hurt to try!
Do you have varicose veins? Ever since I fixed mine have had zero leg cramps.
How did you fix your varicose veins?
The King of Love My Shepherd Is
The King of love my shepherd is,
whose goodness faileth never.
I nothing lack if I am his,
and he is mine forever.
Where streams of living water flow,
my ransomed soul he leadeth;
and where the verdant pastures grow,
with food celestial feedeth.
Perverse and foolish, oft I strayed,
but yet in love he sought me;
and on his shoulder gently laid,
and home, rejoicing, brought me.
In death’s dark vale I fear no ill,
with thee, dear Lord, beside me;
thy rod and staff my comfort still,
thy cross before to guide me.
Thou spreadst a table in my sight;
thy unction grace bestoweth;
and oh, what transport of delight
from thy pure chalice floweth!
And so through all the length of days,
thy goodness faileth never;
Good Shepherd, may I sing thy praise
within thy house forever.
“The King of Love My Shepherd Is is an 1868 hymn with lyrics written by Henry Williams Baker, based on the Welsh version of Psalm 23 and the work of Edmund Prys.
It is sung to four different melodies: Dominus Regit Me, the traditional Irish tune St. Columba, “Ich dank’ dir schon” by Michael Praetorius, and Remsen, the Welsh original.
Henry Baker’s last words were reportedly lyrics from this hymn.
In 1997, the hymn was sung at the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales.”

The Welsh are all said to be be born with a song in their mouths. Here is ample evidence that it is true. They sing with pure joy and feeling. Wales, the much missed home of my heart. Thank you, Sibyl.
Fred, Steves new barn cat is something. He’s a small and young kitty and is as loving and playful as can be. And he knows how to play. When you go after his belly, his play bites are just that and he does not put his claws out as he grasps with his front paws and kicks with his back paws. A real keeper.
Lucky Fred…even luckier Steve💕
Morning all. Hope you all have a blessed Sunday.
Just finished watching Joe Bastardi’s Saturday Summary. He did a kind of postmortem on the track forecasting for Ian and basically told NOAA they need to grow a set and take responsibility and make real forecasts instead of just pumping out what the models are saying without human input. Models are tools for forecasting and not a forecast. Forecasting takes the human touch based on knowledge and experience.
He explained why it is very difficult for hurricanes to come ashore as a major in the big bend area of Florida especially when the storm is paralleling the S. Florida coast. And then gave the history to back up his point.
Colder than normal still in the forecast for the N. Central and N. Eastern US. Places like Chicago and Boston could be seeing some flurries by this time next week.
And he went over all the indications of why this winter is most likely going to be a colder one that we in the N. and East US than we have had for some time.
Western Europe will get a bit of warmer than average temps this week and then will switch to colder than average after that.
Now what I am going to do check our thermometer and if we’re in the 30’s I will bring in a bit of wood and fire up my new fireplace insert for the first time and surprise my lady with a nice warm fire to wake up to this morning.
Weatherman, wooly bear caterpillar, tells me with big yellow middle it will be a warm winter here on the Oregon Coast.
Rutting going on here with five doe and a buck just trying to do his job. Real rodeo when they get on back porch and look through window.
Update on weatherbug. Others are telling hard winter with small yellow middles.
Rut hasn’t quite started here in the Hill Country of Texas, yet. The height of it is usually first week to mid-November, though a couple of years ago it hit the beginning of December.
Number of years ago my youngest son and I were driving around the ranch during deer season. We came upon a buck that was servicing a doe. I told my son (then in middle school) that if I shot that buck he’d die a happy guy. I didn’t, we just left them alone. 😁
Animals are wonderful. I really would like to have a goat or two but am too old to care for them. Deer take care of themselves and are just as cute.
Fire place insert fired up for the first time. Initially I was a bit worried because it didn’t seem to be drawing well, then I figure out I had the damper closed! Duh! Now waiting for it to warm up enough that the thermostat kicks in the blower. When it really starts producing heat and the blower is going I will turn off the furnace and run the furnace fan only and see if I can effectively heat the whole house with it.
The thermostat is not kicking the blower on. Another day, another problem. I’ll let it burn down, clean it out, call the insert guy and get his advise and proceed from there. One way or another that thing is going to be working before the real cold gets here.
We had an old wood stove at our family beach house.Family members that had gone out there after I had closed up and winterized the place in the fall, had used the fireplace and failed to put the spark arrester cap back on outside, and consequently rain would get down the pipe and caused much rusting.
Well, every year I said that I was going to fix it,but due to little time and too many other things to fix,I didn’t.Every year it kept getting harder and harder to get it working and finally one year the rust that had accumulated in the flu blocked the draw.I set about using all my typical tricks to get it running, the last being to open the door to the firebox to allow the draft to catch the fire and get it going.
I was DETERMINED to get the fire started, but to no avail…this time it wouldn’t work.My eyes were burning and watering and my wife was laughing at me hysterically, crying in between gasps for breath, that she couldn’t even see.As a result, the whole place was flooded with smoke so bad, that I shut the door to the firebox, opened up all the windows and doors and we ran outside.
We sat there laughing ourselves to pieces, while trying to wipe our watering, burning eyes. She looked up at the stovepipe top, visible in the moonlight and bright stars, and a steady stream of white smoke was pouring out…at which she proclaimed,”we have a pope!”.We sat there and laughed like little schoolkids ’til our stomachs hurt.
Needless to say,I replaced the pipe and cleaned out all the rust the next year and she worked like a charm. 🙂
In any case, the hearth warming was heart warming! 🙂
It was Phoenix, and we still laugh about it at times! 🙂
A lot of things are very idiosyncratic, and take a little time to figure out how they work ideally. An older car,a tool, etc. This goes for people as well.I tend to be like a dog with a bone when I set my mind on something, and at times to my own detriment.Yesterday was a prime example of this.
I passed my inspection on the new windows on my house (woohoo!),so now I can close out the permit.I figured I’d celebrate and do some BBQ on the grill and have a couple of barley pops.Well, the tank ran out as I was heating her up.No big deal,I’ll just slap another tank in,and keep on going my merry way.Nope.The new tank was leaking and hissing…I’ve had it happen before…bad tank…so I grabbed another, but the same thing happened.
I’ve also had this happen before…regulator gone bad.So I moseyed on down to Ace Hardware and got a new one,put her on and went to test it by putting the lighter around the hose where it attaches to the tank. Not necessarily advisable, but I’ve done it a bunch of times, but always with the garden hose right there, just in case.
In my hurry,I forgot about the hose, and of course she lit up.Realizing that I didn’t have the hose right there to put it out,I had to reach in over the flame to shut the tank off.Burned myself pretty good, but not too bad…just a little bit of blistering.Ok Casco…slow it down a notch there champ,ok?Got the hose.Took off and reconnected the regulator, and tested it again. No leaks,no problem and good to go.Dinner was enjoyable, but a little painful.
Note to self…slow it down a tad and try not to be in too much of a hurry, even if you are hungry. 🙂
I think you and my older than you husband were separated at birth and one put in the freezer, Casco.
Like you, he will never be defeated when faced with a problem…be it cars, or woodwork, or electrical, or computer or you name it.
Brilliant news about your windows! WooHoo indeed! You be more careful…the object is to grill your dinner, not yourself. Sympathies, my friend. Burns are so painful.
My dad was head of the burns unit at Fort Sam Houston on his return from serving in a MASH unit in Korea. After he got back from his 18 months there, nothing frightened him, except burns.
Take care😘
Well if we’re somewhat similar, that puts me in good company Bet! Yeah, burns hurts a bit,but nothing that an extra barley pop (or 6) won’t fix (LOL!).My revenge has been to take it out on that leftover delicious pork tenderloin I’ve been nibbling on today…mean ole grill!
You tell that pork loin, Casco! 😁 Fighting with a faulty tank or a regulator is one of the reasons I do all my grilling with charcoal.
I prefer charcoal for flavour. Really there is nothing like it.
That is my main reason to use charcoal.
LOL! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Well yum!!! For medicinal purposes I’m sure😉
Uh huh,that’s my story…! 🙂
Haaaaahahahahaaaa!! 😂😂😂
I can’t wait to get my fireplace insert ready to fire up. When I moved into this house, I bought some fire wood and built a couple of fires, only to have a roaring chimney fire. I could never find anyone to clean and reline it until digging around this year, finally found someone. While cleaning, the cement in the bottom of the insert cracked into dozens of pieces, so I bought refractory cement I found online to replace it.
In asking about how to do it, I discovered that the insert was supposed to have insulating firebrick around the inside. So, I had to learn how to do that, how to replace the gasket around the door opening, how to use stainless steel inside the firebrick (using scrap I was able to buy online), and how to use ceramic fiber under the floor cement with stainless steel over the cement to protect it from the legs of the grate.
Now, I have to figure out how to raise the temperature in the fireplace gradually to cure everything. Anyone have any suggestions?
I found someone who sells firewood and it was delivered. I’ve been working on stacking it. The wood pieces are too big for my fireplace, though, so back to learning. I’m reading about how to split wood…….
Eventually, I will get the pleasure of a fire, but it’s been a long lot of work. I hope that the winter doesn’t have power outages that make me need to rely on it for my only heat, but if it happens, I’ll be ready.
You sound like my British sister in law, Belle. She and her (carriage) driving partner live in a 700 year old stone farmhouse. She’s 80 now but on her day the two of them did it all. Their water supply is a fast flowing stream, and in the winter sometimes Tue pipe would get blocked…so on with the wellies and into the bitter cold Welsh water they’d go to unblock it, then back into the house to warm up by the Aga, which supplied all their heat through radiators.
You sound resilient with a “can do” spirit…a survivor. Kudos.
Kenneth Hanson ‘The Lord Is My Light’ by Frances Allitsen
The Lord is my light and my salvation. Whom, then shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life. Of whom then shall I be afraid?
Though a host of men were laid against me, yet shall not my heart be afraid;
And tho’ there rose up war against me, yet will I put my trust in Him.
For in the time of trouble, He shall hide me in His tabernacle.
Yea, in the secret places of His dwelling shall He hide me,
And set me up upon a rock of stone.
“The Lord is My Light” written by Frances Allitsen is based on Psalm 27, published by Boosey & Hawkes.
According to the 1897 printing of the sheet music it was sung by Clara Butt to Clifford Harrison.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
AMEN.
Verse of the Day for Sunday, October 9, 2022
✟
“But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.”
Psalms 5:11 (KJV)
Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered!!!

PLEASE PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER
I am still in Isaiah 66. This will be the 3rd week. This chapter is full of great thoughts. There is a verse or two near the end about which I have been thinking this week:
18 “For I know their works and their thoughts, and the time is coming to gather all nations and tongues. And they shall come and shall see my glory,19 and I will set a sign among them.
I thought back to the time of men gathering together to be as gods as they built a great tower to the sky. God intervened and separated them while confusing their language. For many millennia, the separation and confusion has persisted. No effort by men to end the separation or confusion has ever worked. In fact, the problem may be worse now that ever as even those of a common language and nation are separated and can not communicate. In the end, God and only God will undo that great separation and it will be to His glory.
Amen…and we stand along the parapets watching, and with faith and patience waiting.
“I wait for the Lord, my whole body waits, and in His Word I put my hope.
I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning.”
~~Psalm 130:5-6~~
Blessings to you, Vibeman.
Super Bowl 2023 halftme show?
I did not know a chain fall was a musical instrument. Still not sure.
Drive US 287 Dallas to Amarillo……….this song has the vibe…………..
Side bar: US 287. Get on it in Beaumont, TX, stay on US 287 and you end up at the southern entrance to Yellowstone, continued to the Montana/Canada border. A beautiful motorcycle trip thru America and the American west.
Happy Birthday John Lennon. He would 82 today.
Considering the place of his murder, that is quite an ironic picture.
An excellent vintage movie:
“The eyes and ears are useless if your mind is deaf and blind.”
Saw an ad for a sweatshirt that said “I see the problem. I’m speaking in English but you are listening in Dumb Ass.”
I went to our local grocery store to do my early morning Sunday shopping (I usually get there about 6:30). It’s really nice in the produce department – everything has just been put on display and is so beautiful. 🙂
When I was walking past the magazine section I paused to see if they had our favorite crossword puzzle books yet – no, not yet – but that’s okay now, Mom and I have a subscription to Kappa Puzzles for the “Superb” puzzles but it rook quite a while to get here (I placed the order on August 2nd and we received our first issue yesterday). Hopefully that we have now received the first issue, they will arrive regularly (13 issues total).
My Mom and I have our own Kindles on which we have our books and puzzles (she likes Spiderette and I like BrainTrainer and chess; sometimes I win). Then we have the Kappa Puzzle book which we work on together, back and forth, we pick it up through the day. Mom lets me have her crossword puzzle from her “Wall Street Journal” (Mon-Fri); she is a very generous mother! She says I need to do it.
So, while I was checking out the magazine section at the store, I saw a little booklet that practically shouted over to me, in a nice way: “The Mountains Are Calling” . . . it looked sort of like a devotional and daily journal . . . when I saw the “Dayspring” logo I decided to get it . . . two, one for Mom and one for me. In addition to our “Padre Pio” devotional, maybe this would be nice – I saw the word “compline” as I leafed through the pages briefly and remembered seeing that word here, so maybe it would be a good thing to add to our daily routine.
I hope everyone has a lovely Sunday!
May you both have a lovely day as well, suejeanne. I’m sure you and your mother will enjoy your “finds”😊
I find renewed respect for the group Chicago after watching this lost video…..
And I have to add a car pic, the beautiful Maserati 275
Bumper crop of grapes and making juice. Anyone have special ways to do it? I just clean them, mash a bit, heat a bit, mash some more, strain and bottle. If they ferment so much the better.
Merry, let it ferment before bottling. 🙂

If you were paying attention, Kanye’s antisemitism is predictableBy Andrea Widburg
Over the weekend, Kanye West went full antisemitic. I was not at all surprised. Kanye’s incoherent attack on Jared Kushner during his interview with Tucker Carlson gave the game away. By the way, what he shared on Instagram and Twitter over the weekend is not open to interpretation, as in “is he or isn’t he antisemitic?”—instead, it’s big, it’s bold, and it’s openly, unabashedly antisemitic.
It began on Friday when Kanye was kicked off Instagram, although it’s unclear whether it was for his antisemitic rantings or for something else. The rantings arose in the context of a private conversation he’d had with Sean “Diddy” Combs, which Kanye then apparently published to Instagram. Here’s the Instagram language:
Clearly offended by whatever Diddy told him, along with the Instagram experience (and Instagram, recall, is owned by Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta), on Saturday, Kanye escalated the antisemitic attacks in a Twitter tweet vowing to go after Jews. Twitter has since deleted the tweet, saying it violates its rules, but it lives on as a screen grab:
It would not surprise me if Mr. West’s anti-Semitic rant has something to do with an apparent ongoing war with his ex-wife. Her late father, had Jewish ancestry and is apparently buried in a cemetery area designated for those of the Jewish faith.
Mr. West has issues, and hope he finds a healthy way to deal with them.
Here’s an article on his ex-wife’s late father’s heritage; which, it seems there was for him personal struggles and might be why Mr. West is hitting on that point which begs the question if it’s possible those same struggles are a hot-button issue for his ex-wife?

I wanted to update everyone on the SW Florida recovery. The Pastor of my church in TLH came from SW Florida where he pastored for 21 years in Ft Myers. He is still in touch with many churches in need in the hurricane-devastated area.
Our church is taking up love offerings every service to send help. Also, he reports that scores of souls are coming to Christ through the servant ministry of these devastated Ft Myers area congegations.
To God be the Glory!
✝️ Lord, thank You for the day. Amen.
