Refined sugar in the standard large doses available in most products consumed daily destroys dopamine levels leading to ADD/ADHD diagnosis and poorly school performance and fact retention.
Be nice if the “institutions” would stop using as the incentive to treat behavior by earning “candy”, this very substance.
Yes and people were told that high fat in foods was the culprit and so we need to take it out of food. The producers did take it out and replaced it with sugar to make foods more appetizing. The rates of overweight and obese individuals started to increase, which caused the very problems the removal of fat was supposed to cure—heart disease and cancer. Along with less exercise per day and fast food exploding across the country, the sugar increase in every food caused major health issues. People did not relate sugar to health really.
Now my question is was it done on purpose? Sugar now has been revealed as addicting as cocaine in studies. Who deliberately laced almost all manmade foods with sugar? Who trashed fats, even the more healthy ones, so that people were indoctrinated to believe fats were a terrible ingredient for healthy bodies? Look to our national govt health depts. and the food manufacturers holding hands with them. Another costly set up for the population and more deadly as the years go by.
People can educate themselves, buy clean organic foods, grow their own, make better choices at the grocery store, feed their kids from day one only good sources of foods and never serve them sugary treats or fast food. However, the govt. and giant food companies are betting most Americans are too lazy, and /or too busy, to make the tough choices on their food purchases which require more work to shop for and prepare. The extra expense for good food sources is another factor for middle income and poor families too.
Just making a few changes would help keep healthier foods on the table and reduce overweight kids and adults. More demand for clean food and choices at the grocery store will bring costs down. Everyone should be able to buy good food and yet the govt. never promotes organic or helps with the costs for that.
Also, try to get out and move everyday as much as possible. Breathe fresh air, take in the outdoor world and nature wherever you can even if it’s just a city park or gardens. Sitting around all day is not great for anyone trying to stay healthy and avoid diseases.
Processed foods are the problem, if it is in a box box kick it out of your diet. Not eggs! Carbohydrates need to be avoided. Rice, bread, all of them, and carbohydrates are everywhere.
Our government seems to like carbohydrates just like they like the “shot”. Is the government captured by big Pharma and big food? Why yes they are, that’s why the most wealthy country in the world has the highest level obesity and one of the very lowest levels of life expectancy. They don’t mind making big Pharma and big food lots of money which of course helps them to avoid paying you your Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid. Don’t forget there’s $100 trillion of unfunded liabilities for these three. The government is not interested in keeping you healthy or alive, you were just a “eater“, particularly after you stop working in a longer pay taxes.
The vast majority of these politicians, once elected, work to getting reelected again which means taking money from people and voting for what they want. That does not include you. It’s all a sham, fortunately there are a number of notable exceptions and by now you can tell who they are by what they do.
One last question about our fabulous government, it’s flu season and I just had the flu. Body aches temperature etc. Should I go visit my elderly week parents in the old age home? Why no, you might infect and kill them. Why have we let the governors of New York, New Jersey, and California and others off the hook already for sending Covid infected patients back to their old age homes? That was murder of the elderly by the government by choice and strategy and no conversation about it anymore but I digress, the government “really loves you“.
Fats and protein, the very things found in wild animals 10,000 years ago before processed food, are in fact healthy. The opposite of what our government told us.
The FLCCCC has a weekly podcast on Wednesday’s, actually a zoom call which went into great detail about what kind of food you should eat and what kind of foods you should avoid. Thar podcast was three weeks ago. Its free, and can be seen. It’s like having doctors talk to you for an hour once a week for free. Of course they are the experts on what worked for Covid and lost jobs in hospitals for trying to save patients with early treatment. Their expertise ertainly came in handy when I had Covid that I had ivermectin and HCQ, amongst many other therapeutics on their free protocol list. Never wait to get sick to have these items on hand to take at first symptoms, they are “antivirals“ and guess what? My seasonal flu was pretty damn mild and short because I took the annual flu shot, not!
When women were convinced working in the home was demeaning…. and besides you need all those great upgrades. Boy what a sinister thing to do…..Families suffered….Results …divorce up….family time greatly limited…..Unhealthy meals……children raised in day care. SAD. For what?

Perhaps, assuming that the above excuse from the apologists is true, if they did not spend their money on such things, they could buy a proper diet?

I became aware of the “culture of poverty” while working. Bridges Out of Poverty Workshop – aha! Process is a good resource for learning about / helping people out of this trap.
I believe that this trap was intentionally laid for people. Those “stupid stuff” items listed (tobacco, marijuana, TV, internet ) plus the sugar/carb fixes) are part of the trap – they just deaden the pain / awareness.

15 years ago, one of the saddest students in my career was an Afro-American (probably 1/4 Caucasian) boy, who in the 8th Grade weighed somewhere between 350 and 400 pounds.
He was very nice, but very shy and in subtle ways depressed by his size.
One must blame the parents. I should try to find out if he is still alive.
Many years ago my wife had a 7th Grade boy who already weighed 500 pounds: his lungs tended to collapse because of all the weight on them.
He died at age 19, weighing over 800 pounds: we visited him when he was 16 and he literally needed a couch for a chair. His mother was a 350-lb. nurse (!): his father had already died at age 35 and weighed about 400 pounds.
A “snack” in the afternoon was 4 bags of McDonald’s hamburgers and French fries, all bought by his mother because by that time he could barely move through the house.

If he could barely move, it would have been easy to control his intake, by serving him proper nutritious meals.
It is easier to tear down an amusement ride than to change anyone’s dietary habits.

Most poor people who use cannabis sell a bit to their friends so they can use the plant for free or maybe make a few bucks in the process. EBT cards often have a cash withdrawal option, or drug users sell their welfare benefits to drug dealers for fifty cents on the dollar, or by filling lists of desired food items like filet mignon and lobster tail at the grocery in return for hard dope.

Have you ever read the book “When Helping Hurts”? It was mostly written for church groups leading Short Term Mission trips (which is how we first found it) but the principles are applicable to anyone doing any kind of “poverty alleviation”. Far too often, the providers are well intentioned but woefully uninformed about the long term consequences of their short term efforts to “help”. And sadly, many feel so “good” about themselves that they refuse to stop even when told how much damage they are doing!
There is also, unfortunately, a LOT of money to be made in the “poverty industry” as is evidenced by the billions that have been spent since 1965 when LBJ declared his “war on poverty”. And it has only gotten worse since George W Bush created the Office of Faith Based Initiatives, which is what lead to the huge expansion of “religious based charities” with free access to the Federal Treasury for “humanitarian purposes”. Much of the illegal drug/human trafficking coming across the Southern Border has been facilitated by “Catholic Charities” and “Lutheran Services” and the Homeless Industrial Complexes in many major cities are making bank by NOT doing anything to actually solve the problem!
Kayne gets it, Candace Owens gets it, Star Parker got it 25 years ago when she wrote “Uncle Sam’s Plantation” but their voices get shouted down by “educated” white Liberals who love to pontificate but who have ZERO actual experience with solving problems in the real world!

Exactly. I have yet to run across a starving kid either. Most kids are obese also. It is a sad cycle and very few even try to gain control of the fork. To me it is one thing if the adult wants to be a 4x but to see small children weigh as much as an adult is child neglect. Exercise is free.
There was an Ad Council advertisement about hunger in America last night and at least 80% of the people in the commercial were overweight.
It’s gone way beyond “genocide of the black race”. While referencing history is an important component of analysis, it is also important to realize what is going on currently. Conclusions without looking at all factors is rarely accurate.
IDK, I got the impression fat has consistently been shamed and discriminated against, legally of course, for at least the near seven decades I’ve been around.
I’ve seen it even with people who get fat due to medical procedures, like cancer treatments, or who suffer from organ deterioration which causes swelling.

I’ve always said much of the growth in girth of the 25-45 year old American males is due to their over the top consumption of beer. They drink it like water.
Add to the beer the consumption of chips and dips.
If you are over 50, i’ll bet you remember a time when beer advertising and beer consumption in your area was largely confined to hot summer months.
Further, I think you’ll recall a time when your grocery store had a small section devoted to potato chips–maybe Granny Goose regular or bar-b-que. Then, at one point, Ruffles with ridges. Perhaps Fritos, small bag. The shelf space was limited.
Today, go into any large store and you’ll find the longest aisle is devoted to chips, from bottom to top on both sides of the aisle.
Look at the high school football linemen both black and white, many are approaching 300 lbs or more! When I went to high school in the 60s I don’t remember anyone being over 200 lbs in whole school let alone the football team!

Guess who ate chips every day? It wasn’t me — I was aways on diets with lots of salads.

Growing up, it was boring to be inside the home. I had to get outside, ride my bike, visit friends, play sports, invent games, explore farther and farther away from home. As an adult, I’m still bored staying inside the home for too long. I still ride my bike, play sports (that is if fishing and hiking is a sport) and explore new areas.
Today there’s so much in-home entertainment that kids don’t get outside enough. Add that to what seems like a higher population density that’s being concentrated into smaller geographic zones. Zones that are farther and farther away from safe green places for kids to explore and play in.
I think the obesity epidemic time line can begin with the invent of modern day electronic entertainment.
We had woods nearby with a creek running through it and I spent hours there growing up! Especially in winter after a fresh snowfall when rabbit tracks were everywhere! Those woods are all homes now.
When I got bored with the woods I went and got a job cutting grass to buy a Honda dirt bike.
It’s quite possible that the old “news” that Kanye was nuts …. having a breakdown…

Here in Washington state, the USDA has withdrawn almost all the meat inspectors. Now there is an 8+ month backlog for beef and pork. If meat is not USDA-inspected, it cannot be sold across state lines. By moving most of the inspectors, the USDA effectively blocks the sale of Washington slaughtered meat in other states. Think about that.
And the Washington State congressional representatives are doing what?
That’s the problem trying to control things, eventually people/ideas will break free and find a new path. It takes a long time for a river to change course, but it does happen.

Nowadays, there’s also DEF, which adds a bit of cost.
This is, of course, irrespective of maintenance, which can be disparate between electric and ICE. In general, electric has less ongoing maintenance cost until part failure or battery replacement. Forex, electric doesn’t need air/oil/fuel filter changes and lubricating oil every 50-100 hours.
The manufacture of electric vehicles are an economic and environmental disaster to build and to recycle!
We should be able to extrapolate from battery capacity versus current vehicle battery capacity and replacement cost, which is known, and then compare cost to a typical in-frame/drivetrain replacement for an ICE truck which can occur anywhere between 500K and 1MM miles generally.

George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley tore into the Democratic Party on Fox News Monday over “misinformation” legislation targeting doctors.
“This law is chilling in what it says about free speech in California.
These doctors are being told that if they are viewed as spreading misinformation, it will be considered unprofessional conduct, threatening their very licenses.
But as you noted, John, many of the issues they cite, like mask and vaccine efficacy are all being cited as areas where they want to stop misinformation,” Turley said about the legislation.
Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom of California signed the legislation, AB2098, into law Friday that will punish doctors for spreading what is deemed to be health “,misinformation.”
The bill’s findings claimed that doctors were among the most dangerous sources of alleged misinformation about COVID-19 and cited a resolution passed by the California State Assembly in Sept. 2021 that declared misinformation “a public health crisis” and urged the state to fight it.

Kids are still considered nbc because the bases, etc. where our guys are serving overseas, are considered American soil.
Anyway, Turley talks good sense and legal info, but there are places these legal experts refuse to or are afraid to go. Obama and his whole eligibility question is one of them and the SC punted on the nbc issue at the time too, refusing to hear any cases about it.

My dad used to work at a place (engineering manager) that made various specialty batteries for aerospace and military applications. Some of these batteries used metals such as lithium in their manufacture. I visited the part of the plant where they assembled some lithium batteries back in the early 1980’s. Yes, we had lithium batteries way back then. They kept the relative humidity in that part of the plant at around 5% max. Your mouth and nose would start to chap after a couple hours in there, never mind the acrid smell of all the chemicals. Later I did some consulting for them writing some special software in one of their dry rooms. I got that done as quickly as I could simply because it was so terrible sitting in there writing code that talked to various sensors. Given the price inversion I noticed between Oregon and California, I believe Newsom enacted some sort of tax holiday to help hold down prices. It’s still kinda wonky but not as much lately.
In the past, forex during the Trump period and early Biden period, Oregon diesel was anywhere from 50 cents to a 1.50 per gallon cheaper than CA. Lately, like during the summer, shocker, it’s been higher. I compared the same truck stops in both states I’ve used for years.
