Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Convention to propose amendments must be called by Congress upon application by 2/3 of States. There has been such a number, but Congress is obstructing by not calling. Without the States declaring and convening a convention to propose amendments on their own, another weakness in our federal system is revealed – Our federal system is what the federal government says it is. So, timidity prevents due process when the federal government defines itself and there’s no pushback.
A better issue is a lack of proper representation in Congress whereby increasing the House of Representatives to 1 per 90,000 citizens minimum. Dilute their power. Expose the faults of our system which can not govern 330 + million people when the focus is on a monolithic Nation and not a Republic.
Nationalism infected our country long ago – in the years before the Civil War. Expansion, via adding more states, without adding another layer to the federal system, created our current problems by focusing on Nation and not Republic which the Civil War cemented in.
My reason here with the differences between Nation and Republic and States is that they all can’t exist at the same time. A Republic of States or a Nation with states. And I see neither as workable any longer due to population increases – Neither system can cope with governing and holding to our founding premises, which we all know about. A Republic of States can not have a federal system such as is designed for it concentrates too much in the federal system, because it was not designed to be so expansive for the population we have. It didn’t adjust correctly in representation numbers after 1910, because it stopped increasing thereby concentrating power in too few members, thus enabling their takeover by money interests. But, that was only a symptom of, and not the cause of.
Dilution of the Citizen coupled with a focus on Nation is where a problem exists of such scope as to be very concerning. As an engineer of sorts, I view the structure and check for soundness. We have the greatest founding principles ever devised. Those principles improve with time as we see our faults and try to correct them. Founding principles are sound and are a way for the future, however, the structure devised, the political framework, was a beginning that worked for a while, but didn’t adapt to a growing population. One size does not fit all, and neither does our current interpretation of our founding guidelines. With weak States, the central government rules. Sorry, but that can not stand from my viewpoint and is deadly today.
Now, this added layer referred to earlier, is a Regional entity structure of contiguous States which where the Congressional members will meet for that region thereby returning those representatives back to their area which dilutes power and influence from the outside and where Citizens will be closer to them. More local control of government is needed as it once was. Dilution and balancing were the hallmarks of our system for control by the People and there’s a need for such now.
Respectfully disagree. It is futzing with the original recipe, thats why the dinner is ruined. Instead of ‘tweeking’ the recipe MORE, how about rescinding some of the previous amendments that got us off in the first place?
Get rid of the 17th and 22nd, for starters.
Senators appointed by State Legislatures,, that can be recalled BY those State Legislatures, are no longer taking “fact finding” trips around the World, to close deals on cut backs for “foreign aid” they are working for the State they are supposed to represent.
As for the 22nd, how can you have “3 co-equal branches” when only ONE is term limited?
The problem with population is big municipal areas, WHERE THE BALLOT COUNTING OCCURS, often find enough ballots to make the vast rural vote irrelevant, and with cheating theres no way to know if s State is REALLY ‘Blue’.
Not a fan ofCondtitutional conventions, I prefer extreme Federalism.
Properly used, it could cut bavk regulations permanently, as Court decisions are final, and apply to all 50 States.
As we have seen, one POTUS cutting regulations is reversed by his successor.
Part of getting back to Constitutional Gov is shifting our focus from National Govt and offices, back to STATE and local governments.
Fed gov was supposed to be weak, as intended by the Founders.
So, WEAKEN it. I don’t see “regional govts” as being desirable, just adding another layer of too much Government.
MOST Federal Depts should be abolished, all together, with STATE Governments taking up the authority.
I look forward to your well thought out posts! Over the decades, many states have abdicated their powers, to the feds. IL is a good example. Very highly regulated and so is Florida only very quietly so.
Many of these governmental departments have been necessary due to the tendency of others usually in business to hijack systems for financial gain and profit. And cutting corners for the same.
We should not need the EPA, the Department of Education, or OSHA or the IRS…or thieving unions. Honest entities do not make them a necessity.
Making states more involved and accountable to their residents, will also add to the free market idea that sort of is happening now…people leaving repressive states.
“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
John Adams
Dutch, YES to all this
Respectfully AGREE with your comment – 100%!
I agree with your position where a properly weakened Federal structure can restore balance of power to favor the States, as intended in the Constitution. However, if all of the powers not specified in the Constitution as Federal powers are actually powers left to the States and/or We the People, those powers will surely be usurped from We the People by the individual State Governments. The trade off will be generally better as far as the separation of power is concerned, but the issues will arise in the details. Will Governors become a kluge of Dictators, such as what we witnessed in the Covid19 Plandemic? It looks to me like functional and emergency powers will have to be more extensively and thoroughly defined whether they are needed by the Federal Government or by the individual State Governments.
If one State has completely different rules to prevent or promote Government overreach, two neighboring States will often be at fundamental odds with each other, and will endlessly be adjusting their laws to attempt to deal with those differences in a way favorable only to each State.
Many restraints would have to be also placed on the powers of each State so that neighboring States will not also end up resolving the resulting frictions by using armies of lawyers at the Federal Supreme Court level to attempt to resolve their individual differences. The Federal Government, being the arbiter, would inevitably gain considerable powers to force legal conformity upon the States. There would be better division of powers, but potentially more overall Government power over We the People than what presently exists.
I feel a Constitutional Convention could work to eliminate the sources of many of these conflicts. For instance, we cannot make a game of letting illegal aliens enter our country and then watching all of the States trying to shuffle these obviously unwanted people from State to State and back again, so our entire immingration policy will have to be completely spelled out, and without loop holes, in our Federal Constitution. While this is the most obvious example of a need for a clear set of boundaries that I can think of, I am sure there are many others that now need work.
Currently, the unlimited boundaries for collection of data on individual consumers by very large corporate interests as a get around for the Government of our Constitutional rights where law enforcement is concerned, has to be addressed. Maybe currency should be limited to purchasing power of free markets products and services, and not as a tool for the corruptioon of corporate intersts by the power of Government interests. I don’t even know how this can be fixed, but adherance to Anti-Trust laws may need to be extended to Government behavior with the collective purchasing power of the taxpayors.
We need to be careful not to assume that we can ever separate Government powers enough to minimize their affect on We the People. But I do like the idea of term limits for all three branches and of the elimination of all Government level employee labor unions for the simple reason that We the People, who pay their salaries, are given no input at the bargaining table. The situation is like watching two wolves and a sheep deciding what is for dinner.
Great list of things that could/should be done to right the ship. Sad that our elected officials are smart enough or driven enough to see what is happening to our country and take steps as you outlined.
I know why people want a Convention of States. We are sick at heart witnessing all the crime that has gone unpunished. Where is the courage to prosecute evil? Why is the rule of law disregarded?
So, since we love the rule of law and are law-abiding people, we think that more laws will solve the problem. No, we have plenty of good enough laws, they are not being enforced. If you want amendments or to get rid of amendments, there is a process in place for that.
It is unwise to imagine that the likes of Nancy Pelosi would not cause a CoS to careen out of control. They are scofflaws through and through. Know your enemy. They are not like you, not like you at all, and they have no respect for the rule of law we seek to reinstate.
They have never passed up any opportunity to damage and destabilize the fabric of society. Don’t give them the opportunity.
The Article 5 Convention was put in the Constitution for a reason. I think we are at that point
IMHO discussions about changing the U.S. Constitution are premature and they miss a huge issue that must be addressed before considering any Art. 5 Convention.
We not only do NOT have any reliable system in place to enforce whatever changes might be made; we have an anti-Constitution and a one-sided, highly leftwing politicized sentiment running through the Executive Branch agencies, a large portion 0f the Judiciary, at least half of Congress, not to mention most of the corporate media, academia, and the entertainment industry.
Until we have a nation and federal government that is willing to honor and enforce the existing Constitution and Bill of Rights, we are deluding ourselves by thinking that any changes approved by a majority of states would ever be enforced.
This brings to mind the Siren song which leads men to their ruin.
Not listening. I’ve listened to enough hard core 60’s hippies to know this has been their wet dream for decades as they are fully aware that once a convention is convened not one single topic can ever be off the table.
Use the tools that forged the Constitution and allowing it to stand as it was intended to do. This is what President Trump is doing, and is what all the other current targets are doing. Though it looks like a terrible onslaught with the strong call of Pathos urging men to their doom with her song of suffering and defeat, which is intended by the way to get people to seek in desperation easy fixes – cover your ears and keep your hand on the till.

I wouldn’t be caught dead with a red nose and pads!!!!
Good morning, Colkitto, my friend. You have no idea how glad I am to see you here on this beautiful thread.
I hope all is well with you. I’m just up, tea to start, coffee after, and oh so much cooler this morning. Oh joy!! I do hope your appearance here is not a one of. It would be lovely to see you in this beloved church of ours every day. It is a sanctuary like no other.
Love the Twain quote, which I know so well. Truth, my brother.😘
Good morning Bet! Saw the neurologist yesterday, scan was abnormal which confirms Parkinson’s. Thankfully it’s early, stage 1. Can’t tell for sure the speed of development but she said hopefully I stay in stage 1 for the next 10 years. No medication for now and the best thing to do about it is plenty of working out 🏋️♀️.
But God… I am looking forward to see what He is going to do and am excited to take part in His plan. Just praying for wisdom and obedience so that I know and do His will. ❤️😍
Hello, Pa❣️
You have such gifts; What a mind!!!
God, please keep strong and safe this wonderful man. ✝️❤️
🙏🏻✝️❤️
I’ve been watching for you, G. Where do I start…let’s take the good news where we find it. You work out so often, I’ll bet that’s the reason the prognosis for development is as good as it is. That no medication is prescribed for the moment is another bit of good news. And I know of a few people who have Parkinson’s who live their normal lives with few indications of what they’ve been diagnosed with.
Research on this has been extensive, so I repeat those two things I mentioned before…nicotine and CBD (inhaled)…though I’m unsure how au fait with these two fringe (as doctors would probably describe them) treatments any of the doctors you will encounter are. I know you are nowhere near needing to consider the latter, but it seems nicotine has shown remarkable results for either stopping or slowing the effects.
And so not wanting to insert my ignorant self into your medical affairs, there is where I’ll withdraw. As I said, my father and grandfather both had Parkinson’s, so it was a natural thing for me to do some research of my own.
Plus, as you are my dear brother in Christ, G…I would be remiss if I didn’t at least share any information which might in the future be of use for you.
I know the strength of your faith. And I know you are heard. This road you are on will not be a solitary one. Just as He will be with you step by step, with all the grace and mercy He delivers to us all, I am and everyone here is on that road with you. In fact there will be so many that old road will probably have to be widened to accommodate us all😉
Lord love and watch over you and all your family, my friend. Give Nipper another surreptitious hug from his Auntie Bet (as all my younger friends in Wales call me)…and please take one for yourself.🙏😘
Dear Bet, Patience, Casco, Eva, and the rest of the mob. Thank you for the support and prayers. Bet, I’ll keep your research in mind, having started to look into it already. I’m seeing one of the top neurologists in the area on movement disorders but when you start asking about alternative therapies their answer usually is, it’s all experimental and their eyes glaze over. I was offered to start a medication e wise she thought that my right arm was a little stiff to help with the stiffness but since I don’t have any problems doing anything I politely said that for now I’ll stay off it. She replied that works, too.
My trust if fully in the Lord!
You are a wise man. Given that the covers have come off what the pharmaceutical companies are in the business for, for the past 2 years (openly) and no doubt decades before (only now being questioned and exposed), you will use a gimlet eye as you go forward.
Most doctors’ eyes have permanently glazed over and their minds seemingly have closed down completely as we have seen with hydroxychloroquin in and iverectin.
They forget, and I think this is key, that centuries of people before them did not have any pharma products available, and they depended on other natural substances to alleviate or cure the same illnesses we see today.
But in any event, I know you’ll do your own research on whatever medications are offered, and even those that aren’t.
And I know the most important of all, the undeniable power of Christ is with you, G. Faith is everything, come what may. Yours, strong and unwavering, will sustain you…in fact I suspect it will be growing stronger. With love, your sister always in Christ.😘
😘😍
👍💕
Best wishes and prayers, Gramps. A good neurologist can be worth her weight in gold. Be well, friend. 🙂
🙂
My husband was diagnosed with Parkinsons in 2006 and passed in 2020. He was retired military , very disciplined in exercise and before he passed he walked 2 miles a day. So stay strong in your mind body an spirit, surround yourself with positive friends. Praying for you daily.
Thank you, Eva! Very sorry for the loss of your husband.
Great morning GrandpaM! Praying with you and for you as well.It would be my wish that you stay in stage 1 for a long, long time.Blessings for you amigo. Casco
🙂
Father God, please continue to bless Grandpa with a sharp mind and thought. Keep his body physically strong. In Jesus name, amen.
Grandpa, old cheerleading chant comes in mind…
Grandpa grandpa he’s our man…if he can’t do it…no one can!!! 💜 💜😻🐶
❤️ 🌻
LOL! 💜😻
Good Afternoon, Grandpa. Sorry to see that the Parkinson’s is a definite diagnosis. Your positive attitude and your faith will be your best helpers!!
One of my customers has Parkinson’s and when he had to stop doing a lot of things due to the china virus I could see him going back a lot. Then a friend that is helping him with daily chores got him to start doing some exercises!! What a blessing that friend is – my customer is walking much better and I think he sounds a lot more positive. He is not able to play his sax with the group anymore but he is functioning much better. I have prayed a lot for him and am glad to say that God found a way to help him.
Will definitely keep you in my prayers!!
Thanks, Marti! I definitely need to play my guitar a lot more.
Hi friend Bet. I am always grateful and honored to correspond with you.
I saw 2 of these in my waterfall bathing during migration (a few days ago). This is their Fall plumage. (Scarlet Tanagers) (Blueberry Muffins this am with my coffee!)
As always best to you and yours and my prayers.
Slainte
Oh BEAUTY!!!!! Look at him, as no doubt he is. How wonderful you seem to be on nature’s highway for migration. I’m sure you’ve got binoculars to hand.
Bird watchers in the UK are fondly called “twitchers”. I don’t know if you’ve seen that most joyful movie ” The Big Year” ( have I mentioned it before? I might have done). Jack Black, Steve Martin, Owen Wilson, about bird watchers in competition to see how many unusual birds they can see in a year.
I didn’t think I’d like it, but I found it a sweet, funny movie with the added bonus of being able to enjoy the scenery and the birds.
You must be in a very beautiful place away from all the hustle and bustle to observe our feathered friends. Again, I’m so chuffed to see you here this morning, my dear friend. It has made my day😉
(Blueberry muffins! Yum!!)
She looks like an Oriole that we see here in Norcal late spring. Similar anyway.
https://birdwatchinghq.com/orioles-in-california/
Baltimore Oriole aka changed to “Northern Oriole” is one of my all time fav yard birds. They nested every year in my neighbor’s yard, but I have yet to see one where I moved to. Beautiful birds ty for the link ma’am.
We put out grape jam for them every year. They bring their babies to feed.
Garrison,
I close my eyes, and I am resting on Mom and Dad’s sofa in the family room, listening to one of my father’s 78’s he would play while drying dishes on a Sunday afternoon, after a roast dinner.
I would say 1970, 72, 74? Not certain who the artist would be? Bream? We met Bream, so my father would possibly have his albums back then…I remember his 78 covers being in the house.
This so-talented young lady seems to be playing one of Bream’s playlists, if you will!!!! She is fabulous!!! She surpasses Bream in a quiet but more impassioned urgency in her cadence.
Now that my father has passed, I will treasure your post and Ana Vidovic even more. Grew up on classical guitar, lute, harpsichord, piano, voice, and organ!
Bless you for bringing this today! I hope you are hanging in. I am attempting to do the same.
Stay well and with this precious refuge SD hosts!
🎼
Thanks for the kind words WSB. I discovered classical music rather late. Nonetheless I am very familiar with Bream’s recordings as well as Segovia recordings from the 60’s and 70’s. As soon as I was earning a little disposable income I was buying their LP’s. By the way I think what your dad was playing was 33 1/3 rpm LP’s. 78 rpm platters were pretty old-fashioned tech by the 70’s. I still have my collections of Bream and Segovia LP’s.
Good morning, Garrison. Is there a better way to start the day than not just Bach, but THIS Bach? Simply stunning. Her playing is effortless. What pleasure someone of her talent must get to sit down and turn the fingers loose to produce something this exquisite. Blessings, my friend, and thank you😘🙏
Good morning, Bet. Yep, she’s a splendid player. Anna is a member of a generation of younger players, many of whom were trained by students of Bream and Segovia, who are carrying on a grand musical tradition.
A couple of years ago I had a conversation with someone who was complaining that younger generations wouldn’t appreciate classical music the way we geezers do. He was quite wrong. I think her Bach playing allows her to demonstrate her profound understanding of his music. 🙂
An interesting comment about the younger generation…
When I was very young, my mother liked to sew and set up her work area which included a radio which provided opera from the Met and other classical music offerings. It interested me not one bit. In fact, I grew tired of it and could not (at a young uneducated age) understand how anyone could willingly listen to it.
But that was then…
Now? It is the source of my greatest pleasure and passion. She inoculated me with the germs of such joy. I have much to be grateful for.
So over the years, as I have conducted the after school pickups, I always had classical music or opera playing on my car radio. Nothing else. I have inoculated my grands nearest to me, and I pray at some point they will eventually come to appreciate such music. The riches of it are deep and never ending. Such joys and comforts to be derived from it, which is really the gift I hope I have given them. I fervently pray so anyway. All blessings to you my friend.😘
Good morning Garrison!
Hi, again Gramps! 🙂
30 September 1977 Mary Ford [Iris Colleen Summers], American vocalist (with Les Paul – “How High The Moon”), dies from complications of alcohol abuse at 53

My parents took me to the Steel Pier in Atlantic City, New Jersey to see them. There was also a high diving horse. And on the boardwalk, you could buy a postcard from a chicken for a quarter.
My parents took us to the Steel Pier too. Saw Pat Boone there and the high diving horses. Loved the horses. Of course my Mom wanted to see Pat.
back in the day.. down in the Houston metal bar band club scene.. there was talk about this guy in Austin.. who was rapidly garnering attention.. “..y’all gotta hear this guy..”.. some were driving up there just to hear him play..
(live version.. at the venue of “Austin City Limits”.. December 14, 1988.. “The Cliffs of Dover”.. approximately a year before it’s Capitol Records release..)..
A truly outstanding player. I know the song well enough that I can hear the whole thing start playing in my head just from seeing the title.
I regret that I have but one like to give. 😀
Amazingly good.
Just got back in from the west coast (Florida).Lots of damage,no doubt, but there is an armada of utility service trucks staging and starting to deploy everywhere.Ambulances, tree trimmers, heavy equipment and a host of others as well.
So,despite all the destruction, there’s help on the way,and it’s mobilizing quickly.I took it as a positive sign that things will get better soon…praying that it is so.
Thanks casco..will pass on info to sw Florida peeps
I join you in prayer for all.
And for our “rescuers”
Heavenly Father, please give protection to my Christian brother and sister as they make a long road journey this week. Help them arrive safely at their destination and protect the other drivers along the way. Lord, they have much work to do here, building your Kingdom. Please bring them home safe and sound, in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
Amen.
Amen!!
Good morning, Casco. And now the job of righting Florida starts. It will take a long time but every job has to start somewhere. I think Florida, armed with competent able leadership and willing bodies and kind hearts will be the template of an America we always have been. Every person helping a blessing to someone in desperate need of one.
Add all those blessings up and there will be Almighty God, working through every single person to help neighbours whose lives as they knew them are no more.
I’m much relieved that you are all right, my friend. Ongoing prayers for all who are suffering are on their way.😘
Mornin’ Bet! After I couldn’t get a hold of my aunt yesterday morning,I became a little concerned,so I loaded up 5 tanks of propane and 25 gals. of gas and headed over to Bonita.
Amid really slow travel on “the alley” due to the all the service vehicles I had mentioned,my cousin (her daughter) called to say that she had talked to one of the wonderful neighbors, and said that my aunt had dropped a heavy ceramic table on her foot, was bleeding pretty bad,and was refusing to get any treatment. This of course raised my anxiety level another notch. She tends not to listen to anyone except her godson, and is a rather obstinate 74 year old.
When I arrived, another neighbor – a pastor, had cleaned the wound some, but after examining it myself, talked her into getting it looked at.I drove around for an hour and a half, looking for an urgent care or something similar. She doesn’t like being around large groups of people…a “major hospital” was the last resort.
From Estero to Naples everything was down-no power.I finally found an intimate, brand new NCH Emergency Facility-almost empty.Took her there and she got 4 stitches on her broken toe and antibiotics.
Drove back home late last night and finally had something to eat…soup.Been on a liquid diet all last week (had oral surgery).Gonna try some solid food today. All in all,a good day though.Praying for others not so fortunate.Casco 🙂
Oh dear, Casco. You know the old saying…
Troubles come not in single spies, but in battalions.
What a treasure you are with such a good heart. I would expect nothing less from you. And bless your aunt’s heart. Thank goodness an appropriate (for her) medical facility was “put in the way”. And thank God for the kindness of her neighbour. I must say, you have no idea how sympathetic I am to her thinking. I’m only a year younger and have the same feelings about listening to anyone. A serious fault. Obstinate in fact is my middle name. A foot injury is painful and it makes life harder to manage.
Just like oral surgery. I am in such sympathy with you, Casco. All I can say is that when I was young I had four impacted wisdom removed surgically, which included a dry socket after. It is said that we forget pain. That’s not true. I survived on chocolate malts for a month. I hope your healing is quicker than mine was. I am so sorry.
Also as is said, if it’s not one thing it’s another, which is where we seem to be these days. I saw a brilliant meme of a woman squinting hard, half bent over with her hands on her knees, gaze towards the opposite end of her street, trying to make something out. The caption said, “Just checking to see what part of Revelations we’re doing next.”
Ain’t it the truth?!? 😘
“If it’s not one thing”…Ayeh…that’s true.
Thank you for the kind words Bet.I’m just thankful to have been able to help her,and leave supplies for her and the neighbors. If needed,I can make a return trip easily. It was no problem.I’m sure it wasn’t anything that you or all of our friends here wouldn’t do as well…you know…God,family & country (friends). That’s just the way we roll.
Her foot is really painful today, but not infected. The kind folks at Publix said their computers were down and couldn’t fill her antibiotic script, but they gave her a full days worth, and said if it wasn’t up and working tomorrow, they would do the same.I really like Publix anyways, but this is just another reason why I patronize their stores.Really good people.
Hey,I finally had my foray into some solid food today…Lo mein.I don’t mind soup, but it was nice break.Besides,I’ve lost 10 lbs in a week.See,some clouds do have silver linings!
Still praying for the less fortunate with Ian,and that their pain will be minimal.Amen.
Blessings for you and yours Bet,and stay well my friend. 🙂
Excellent! Being able to sort of chew, instead of just swallowing is progress indeed. On the mend…hoorah!
And aren’t Publix grand? I can well imagine how much pain she is in and I hope she’s been given something for it, as well as the antibiotics.🙏
And yes…while we here and elsewhere get on with our day to day, it’s impossible not to think of those for whom it will be a long time before life starts to feel anything like normal, so many having lost everything. As my husband said, a house can be rebuilt, but the treasures in it? Photos and other precious memorabilia… there is no replacement for those. And that is perhaps the most heartbreaking part of all.
I can only imagine how tired and worn out those helping are, and we are only at the start. Lord have mercy and cover them with your feathers and your grace🙏
Take care, Casco. God be with you, my friend.💕
Thanks for your post, Casco. The quick response shows that Fla. has a combination of good organization, professional talent, sufficient equipment resources, and—most of all—a resilient, self-motivating population. When a Really Bad Thing happens that’s the exact combination of multiple level skill sets that you need. Fla. will fix itself.
🙂
Good morning Casco, Cat, Flyover, and Bet! Continued prayers 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻.
🙂
Double goodaye to you, grandpa!!!?💜
One of my favorite rain songs & not by a national artist, he pretty much ended his rise to national stardom with legal substance abuse stemming from his health problems. Jimmy’s first CD is still in my favorites list 20+ years later.
Jimmy Ryser: Rain Came
I think I win!!!!!
One of my favorite rain songs..
Love this one!!!!
Nice! This Temptations song is my fave rain song. Sure are a lot of them! “How I Wish it Would Rain”.
Found this about “I Wish It Would Rain” on Youtube…
“The story behind this song is very tragic. It touches my heart, though. The lyrics to this song were written by a talented young Motown lyricist named Rodger Penzabene. He also wrote lyrics for Gladys Knight & the Pips and Marvin Gaye, as well as the Temptations.
While working on this album, Rodger found out his wife was cheating on him with another man. Rodger was in a bad place. he couldn’t stand the pain, but he couldn’t stop loving his wife either. He literally poured his heart, soul, and pain into this song. It was released on December 21, 1967 and went on to become one of The Temptations greatest hits…but Rodger never saw that.
At 23, Rodger Penzabene took his own life on New Years Eve, 1967. He never got to see that so many people could relate to his pain and heart ache.
Rest easy, Rodger, some of us remember you.”
…and God will certainly know him…that sort of pain from which a person can see no relief so there seems only one course to take? God rest his soul.
Amen to that.
My friend’s mother had gotten divorced. She and her mom would sing this together when it came on the radio. Single mom, 7 kids.

The Assigning of the Call
I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church… —Colossians 1:24
We take our own spiritual consecration and try to make it into a call of God, but when we get right with Him He brushes all this aside. Then He gives us a tremendous, riveting pain to fasten our attention on something that we never even dreamed could be His call for us. And for one radiant, flashing moment we see His purpose, and we say, “Here am I! Send me” (Isaiah 6:8).
This call has nothing to do with personal sanctification, but with being made broken bread and poured-out wine. Yet God can never make us into wine if we object to the fingers He chooses to use to crush us. We say, “If God would only use His own fingers, and make me broken bread and poured-out wine in a special way, then I wouldn’t object!” But when He uses someone we dislike, or some set of circumstances to which we said we would never submit, to crush us, then we object. Yet we must never try to choose the place of our own martyrdom. If we are ever going to be made into wine, we will have to be crushed—you cannot drink grapes. Grapes become wine only when they have been squeezed.
I wonder what finger and thumb God has been using to squeeze you? Have you been as hard as a marble and escaped? If you are not ripe yet, and if God had squeezed you anyway, the wine produced would have been remarkably bitter. To be a holy person means that the elements of our natural life experience the very presence of God as they are providentially broken in His service. We have to be placed into God and brought into agreement with Him before we can be broken bread in His hands. Stay right with God and let Him do as He likes, and you will find that He is producing the kind of bread and wine that will benefit His other children.
WISDOM FROM OSWALD CHAMBERS
“When the Son of man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth?” We all have faith in good principles, in good management, in good common sense, but who amongst us has faith in Jesus Christ? Physical courage is grand, moral courage is grander, but the man who trusts Jesus Christ in the face of the terrific problems of life is worth a whole crowd of heroes.

He knoweth our frame. Psa. 103:14
He doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men. Lam. 3:33
The foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work. II Tim. 2:19-21
He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness. Mal. 3:3
I … will refine them as silver is refined…. they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God. Zech. 13:9

He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel. Psa. 103:7
The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose. Psa. 25:9, 12

PLEASE PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
AMEN.

Anyone in Florida, if you have the power to spare, something to BLAST out as you continue the clean up to declare
“WE ARE STILL HERE!”
https://thefederalist.com/2022/09/29/federal-research-on-manipulating-brains-and-rewriting-dna-should-worry-us-all/
In the Bible the angels were among men in the first historical accounts, they took women as wives. In that process DNA would be irreversibly corrupted. The giants such as Goliath were to be destroyed Also there was a flood and all human kind was exterminated for that reason. In a corrupt bloodline Jesus would not be possible to remove the curse of sin, separation. Noah and his family were “pure bloods” and the lineage was able to continue until Mary.
When I hear anything along these lines of thought I see satanic implications, not for betterment of humanity but to drag souls to hell. It brings me to pause and wonder about our future.
2nd chapter of psalms describes God in these issues, we are specs of dirt animated by his love and life and we wish to completely separate? Can you see the insanity of satan in this? Of men who believe satan is worth a moment of recognition in anything, yet we see people giving themselves over to this nonsense.
It is exactly why laws of men don’t work only a relationship with God can guide us all from hell and into heaven. Laws of men are twisted to protect the perpetrators not the victims, as we now see so distinctly. If laws of men protected the populations people who followed this line of insanity would be separated from society. Instead they are protected. There is nothing Godly about homosexuality, abortion, gender modification. For that matter divorce, adulterous relationships. It’s Gods grace and mercy that we stand on.
Wasn’t it that serpent who suggested/tempted/fooled mankind – “….that ye be as Gods…”?? Cant recall the exact text right now. This is still ongoing, and man, sinful man is STILL at it. Now of course he thinks he is juuuussst about there – researching and manipulating away. What they (deceived man) does not understand is that no amount of “knowledge” within physicality will get you closer to “be as Gods”, simply because God exists outside and out of reach of physicality – while simultaneously physicality itself. In short physicality exists only because God WILLS it to exist
Raw Sewage Swirls Into Florida Floodwaters in Hurricane Ian’s Wake
Ari Natter, Bloomberg News
(Bloomberg) — Floridians reeling from widespread power outages and a deadly surge of water following Hurricane Ian are facing another problem: raw sewage swirling into the floodwaters.
Untold gallons of raw and poorly treated sewage have flowed into streets and rivers as floodwaters inundate infrastructure, power failures knock pumps offline, and manholes overflow.
Such discharges can carry bacteria like E. coli, parasites and viruses that can make humans sick. Nutrients contained in human waste such as phosphorous and nitrogen can also lead to red tides — concentrations of toxic algae — and blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) blooms in ocean waters, which can kill fish and other wildlife. Recent years have seen severe red tides off Florida’s Gulf Coast.
Officials have warned the public to avoid contact with standing water in the vicinity of discharges. Exposure to contaminants in floodwaters may cause skin rashes, gastrointestinal illness and other health problems, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Ian slammed ashore in southwestern Florida as a Category 4 Hurricane, dumping nearly 20 inches of rain in some areas and cutting power to millions.
“Whether it’s the storm surge or just the vast amounts of rain, there is not a sewer system on the planet that can take that kind of hit without having some sort of overflow,” said Nathan Gardner-Andrews, chief advocacy officer for the National Association of Clean Water Agencies. “As storms get more intense you are going to see unfortunately more incidents where systems get overwhelmed.”
Unlike in other parts of the US where sewer systems can use gravity, Florida’s flat topography means a series of lifts and other infrastructure is needed to get wastewater where it needs to go. If those pumps fail or lose power, they overflow, Gardner-Andrews said.
On Thursday afternoon, after a water treatment facility in Bradenton become overwhelmed by stormwater and had to be bypassed, officials were expecting millions of gallons of wastewater to be released into the Manatee River, said William Waitt, the city’s superintendent said, adding the incident was ongoing.
In the Orlando suburb of Casselberry, overflowing tanks at a plant after heavy rains resulted in the discharge of tens of thousands of partially treated waste, said Dawn Swailes, the city’s water reclamation superintendent.
And Ian caused thousands of gallons of sewage to be discharged into a storm drain from an overflowing manhole in Miami, according to a filing with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, one of dozens of reports of sewage releases the agency received following the storm.
The state’s water and sewer infrastructure “is going to be heavily impacted” by Ian, Brock Long, who previously served as administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, said on Bloomberg Television. “Unfortunately for the citizens that reside down there, they’re going to have to change their mindset and expectations: The infrastructure’s just not going to work for a long time.”
Florida is no stranger to major sewer spills following hurricanes. Hurricane Irma in 2017 led to the discharge of millions of gallons of wastewater, according to a report from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. The release after Hurricanes Hermine and Matthew in 2016 was even bigger: 250 million gallons.
Part of the problem is that in some areas of the state, like Miami-Dade County and Fort Lauderdale, wastewater infrastructure is old and crumbling and allows torrents of excess groundwater and stormwater into the system, said Brian LaPointe, a research professor at Florida Atlantic University’s Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute. In some places the pipes used to carry waste are made out of cast iron that corrodes, or even a kind of wood pulp known as Orangeburg, he said.
The US Environmental Protection Agency estimated in 2016 that $271 billion is needed to maintain and improve the nation’s wastewater pipes, treatment plants and associated infrastructure.
In addition to sewer overflows, the contents of some of Florida’s hundreds of thousands of septic tanks will contribute to the human waste flowing into the state’s Caloosahatchee River and eventually into the Gulf of Mexico, LaPointe said.
“I’d say this is going to be unprecedented,” LaPointe said in a phone interview. “We are anticipating seeing a number of these algal blooms in the wake of Hurricane Ian.”
One model the state could look to in the future is in the Florida Keys. Monroe County spent about $1 billion on a septic-to-sewer upgrade that included new, tightly sealed pipes to keep stormwater out and an advanced wastewater treatment system to remove nitrogen, preventing algal blooms that damage coral reefs. The water is then injected more than 3,000 feet underground, LaPointe said. The area reported no sewage spills after Irma, despite being flooded, he added.
“This is really where I think Florida is going to be heading in the future,” LaPointe said. “We are going to have to spend billions of dollars in many of these urban areas.”
