Housemate was running the tubes yesterday with 9/11 footage. One scene I watched was where the firemen were inside the buildings working hard to get people out.

In 2020, a small number of Yeshiva students and alumni banded together to pummel the leadership of Yeshiva University into submission.
They demanded that it approve as a “Pride Alliance” club.
This would allow the club to use university facilities for grooming recruitment and meetings.
When Yeshiva refused to go along with sanctioning a club dedicated to the antithesis of Judaism (and Christianity), they sued.
The cause of action used by the LGBTQIA2S+ plaintiffs was that New York’s “public accommodations” law required Yeshiva to accommodate whatever bizarre sexual practices the “club” came up with.
Shockingly, the alphabet people won.
Yeshiva is represented by the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, which has a damned strong track record on religious freedom cases. A short while ago, the US Supreme Court imposed a stay on the trial court order.

I watched one of this Netflix shows that Treepers were discussing. He did one little short talk on abortion and the audience had total silence. I will never forget that one little short sentence that put the truth in every heart there. He was complaining about men having to pay child support on an unwanted child. The women in the audience were getting annoyed at him. He said something like: why do men have to pay for 18 years and you can kill them with an abortion. There was dead silence.
He probably should have received boos, and people getting up and walking out. How disgusting. No respect for women, no respect for human life, a total pig.

The counter point is you are also right, we have a right to not listen to it if we wish, to shut it off and not give a platform. Booing is free speech as well, but not paying for a ticket would be more effective.
As I’ve watched Chapelle over the years, as his son has grown, he comes across more conservative in his bits in what he chooses to mock, and the perspective of the stories he tells. I get an impression that he sees how society is evolving, and doesn’t like it. Maybe it is just his bit, with easy hits on the trans community, fatherhood issues (toxic masculinity is the term du jour), and societal drug use… but he at least has the guts to say something about it in public.

QUEEN ELIZABETH II’s funeral will see foreign heads of state travel from all over the world – But those making the journey have been banned from using helicopters.
However, foreign heads of state and their spouses heading to London for the state funeral for Queen Elizabeth II have been asked to use commercial flights.
They have also been told they cannot use their own state cars and will instead be bussed en masse from a site in west London.
Documents from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) also say only the heads of state and their spouses or partners from each country have been invited to attend the funeral.
In the official protocol message regarding the funeral, the FCDO said Westminster Abbey will be so full it will be impossible for more than one senior representative per country and their other half to attend.

I can’t remember the name of the book but it was really interesting because some outside communist agitatators were trying to sabotage it and Congressman Frelinghausen played a major part in saving and creating the area. It was a 2 part effort. One was through political/money maneuvering the other part grassroots local people. Russia’s army displayed serious problems when their initial attempt to capture Kyiv and Ukraine’s government ended in disastrous withdrawal.
The following months had numerous reports of Russian deficiencies in training, recruitment, command and control, basic efficiency with weaponry, and, crucially, low morale.
The Ukrainian army faced similar issues, but, apparently less seriously, and always displayed superior morale.
A smaller, less well equipped Ukrainian army stalled the Russians after the initial first two weeks. Given Russia’s vastly stronger army, that should not have happened, but it did.
NATO supplied MANPADS air defense, anti-armor missiles, communications equipment, intelligence, and artillery let Ukraine limit Russia to small gains in western Luhansk – which ended about two months ago in Russia’s operational pause.
The roughly 200 very accurate 155mm howitzers and the longer range, even more accurate, 21 HIMARS/MLRS rocket artillery systems made a huge difference.
Over the last two months, they have eliminated numerous supply depots, fuel depots, command sites, communication sites, air defense launchers, radars, electronic jammers, bridges and other key logistics assets.
The cumulative impact of eroding the Russian army’s already shaky capabilities is now clear. When a hundred mile long front collapses as fully and rapidly as the Kharkiv front, reality should be clear to even the most rabid Russian nationalist or the most eager American conservative Putin idolizer.
