The local chickens just suddenly stopped laying eggs, egg production is down by 75 percent, anecdotally.
In the last two weeks, local farm eggs in my area just dried up, for unknown causes.

I have about 25 hens, and for a couple months we’ve only gotten 5-10 eggs a day. Oldest hen is maybe 3 years old, but most are under 2. We’ve been warm and dry all summer so I am pretty sure that is why we’ve had so few eggs. However I know our weather experience here is not uniformly spread across the USA

Are the farms ‘natural’? Chickens don’t lay during the winter months without artificial stimulation of some sort. Check out youtube for ‘old times’ keeping eggs fresh strategies.
One famer supplies local restaurants. They were getting 200 eggs a day just before Labor Day, then four days later when they came back it dropped to 40 a day. There was no discernable cause, and this is not a farmer new to raising chickens. It has been very rainy in the region, and not all that hot.
Another farmer chalked it up to molting and expected things to return to normal in a couple of weeks. We shall see.
My hens also have stopped laying. I am in Florida’s rural Big Bend. Some hens are molting, but not all. I didn’t get a single egg from 18 hens today. For a month I’ve only gotten 2-4 eggs a day.
In June I was donating 8 dozen eggs a week to Farmshare at church. My hens are various ages, but none older than 3 years.
I am in agony over the poor folks who relied on my egg donations. I know some recipients.

Ukraine’s rapid advances are very risky. They lack the manpower to adequately defend and exploit their newly exposed flanks and capture or kill a good chunk of the Russian troops trying to get out of their way. Russia has its own manpower problems, but probably can mobilize enough force to counter attack effectively.
Again, early days. If Ukraine can resupply forces holding the Kupiansk rail hub, the whole Russian northern front will have to pull back.
The Russian central and southern fronts will have to get most of their supplies through Crimea to the south. That makes the Kerch Strait rail and vehicle bridge even more important. If Ukraine finds a way to attack that bridge, the Russian invasion would face total defeat.

Public schools are designed to have books take over a good portion of teaching after third grade. The teacher is still there, of course. Primarily to make kids read and write, after first offering an introduction about the topic. And to answer questions the kids ask about what they’ve read.
Parents who homeschool have more flexibility. If reading is not (yet) a strong suit for your child, that doesn’t mean they can’t learn. You’d just focus on other methods of teaching.
For example, instead of reading about math, you and your child could do some math. Baking where you cut the recipe in half. Playing board games that involve math. Helping your child calculate how long it will take to save up for that bike she’s wanting.
And if a child isn’t reading by age 8, that doesn’t mean something is wrong. Some kids show no signs of reading comprehension until, oh, around 11, but then suddenly are reading advanced works. Even more advanced than their peers, in some cases.
Got news – most of these kids were never going to master reading whether they spent 6 hours a day in public schools or not. The not so secret, secret is that in most large cities kids graduate high school functionally illiterate and innumerate.
They used to report frequently that for every year a student stayed in DC or Detroit schools, their test results declined. And places like Philly haven’t taught anyone to read in decades.

I recall LA got multi millions in tax credits for electric vehicles. They were purchased in the hundreds possibly thousands seldom seen on the road & eventually disappeared from the lots. I can’t tell you if the were scrapped or sold oversees? I believe they were GE products, just another taxpayer rip off. LA was able to make claim about its cutting edge efforts toward improving the environment.

I lived in LA then. You’re referring to GM’s EV-1 sedans, made only from ‘96-‘99. GM had control of that experiment, not CA. All the cars were leases. You couldn’t buy one. The EV-1s were available only in a few test cities. GM killed the car because they couldn’t negotiate exclusivity on spare parts with the gubmint. They also got paid or otherwise pressured to do it by the oil companies, just as the car companies had previously killed off LA’s wonderful electric trolley system, the Red Cars. The EV-1s disappeared because GM took them all back (except for a few that got hidden) and dismantled them.

To charge up a modern electric car, with panels on the roof, WOULD work,….if the roof was say, 40’x40′ of surface area.

A good start would be forensic financial audits of all federal politicians and their families. That might have a chance of setting things right but would also be nearly impossible to implement because our disloyal politicians would not tolerate losing their supply of corrupt funding. Funny thing is that we all knew that! But when a fact gets filed away into long-term memory, it also becomes temporarily forgotten (if you know what I mean).
It’s a sad fact, but that’s why I feel that for political campaigns, it’s critical for candidates and spokesmen to make timelines of critical facts which people used to know but will have forgotten. It will help them make others relive the outrages that occurred in all our states and cities. Recalling them together at meetings will also be politically very successful.
The goal is that when the voting starts, people should be feeling the outrages as freshly as they felt them in the moment.

When the law takes effect on Jan. 1, 2023, criminals charged with the crimes mentioned above will be released without bail.
